And there were only 8 puppets if I remember correctly, so the movie tricking you into believing there is an entire army was amazing. Motion trackers, the auto turret scene, the vents where all 8 puppets are in one shot....I've had much time to ponder this, but my favorite movie of all time might have to be this one ☺
I really like this movie because you can really tell that Ripley has had some experience with kids. And if you've ever played Alien Isolation you'd know that she did, in fact, have a daughter and I just think it's so clever the way they played off of that.
And also if you read the novel it shows that not only was Ripley, Amanda's favorite parent, her father wasn’t exactly a good role model and that Ripley made a promise that when she came back to Amanda she would do something special for her for her birthday… so… we saw how that went.
The alien queen is the most impressive animatronic of the film. From what I remember (and I could be wrong) it stood 14 ft tall and it took several people to operate it.

Interesting fact about one of the cast; Bill Paxton is the only person to have been killed by an alien, a predator, and a terminator. It might sound kinda random, but I like little facts like that.
"Get away from her you BITCH!" is one of the greatest lines spoken by a woman in a film. Along with Adrian in Rocky getting in Paulie's face and yelling "I'm NOT a LOSER!!"
IF I remember right, the script didn’t have a line for her when she walked out in the mech and that was improvised by Weaver, but I can’t find anything about it being in the script either
Information about the Ovomorphs (the eggs) is that they are a full organism in and of themselves. The facehugger is a part of them that they expel as a voluntary death action to move the xenomorph life cycle forward. This is important because they can choose to stay closed and can also be triggered by a neural or pheremonal signal from an adult xenomorph. In short, the queen TOLD that egg to open in an attempt to ambush Ripley, and Ripley knew it. If it had just been a reflex on the part of the egg than every egg Ripley went past would have opened upon detecting a viable facehugger host.
Interesting, but can be also considered the royal face-huggers, even if discarded in the 3rd film, is said that this eggs can open on their own and empregnate 2 hosts, but cool fact, thanks
I loved this movie as a kid. My parents didn’t want me to watch it but I snuck into the living room while they were watching it and hid behind the sofa in the living room. I’m so glad you’re covering this classic!
LONG LIVE SIGOURNEY WEAVER, she is one of the few actors that is so iconic and legendary the world will be a sad place without her, she's the queen of all sci fi
@@krono5el And now, thirty-plus years later, the existence of those amazing heroines has been forgotten, replaced by "epic female heroes" who aren't even pale shadows by comparison.
@@krono5el The 80s back when they were allowed to make women epic heroes in movies instead of using them as conduits for the 'message' and making them boring ass characters with little to no conflict or personality. Damn I miss the 80s and I wasn't even alive during them. Thankfully anime is still top notch in that department and in general really. Plenty of great female characters in anime to this day.
So interesting fact in regards to the director's cut of the film, James Cameron has said he wishes for that version to be the true way viewers experience the film as it added much more than the theatrical release. In particular because Ripley's daughter, Amanda, is referenced in a scene before the hearing. It was to give her relationship with Newt more weight and emotion. Another two fun behind the scenes facts: 1: James Cameron was constantly butting heads with the crew members because they kept dropping everything to have afternoon tea, even if they were in the middle of filming a scene. (The movie was filmed in the UK). And 2: James Cameron's pitch to Fox was literally writing ALIEN in capital letters on a white board, adding an S at the end, and then turning the S into a $. The entire pitch took roughly 30 seconds and they green lit it immediately. Oh, also the soundtrack by the late great James Horner was written and scored 1 week before the film released in theatres.
Another scene added in the director's cut was the standoff between a horde of aliens and the autoguns, where the sentry turrets only barely fend off the horde and nearly run out of ammunition. The way it was shot and acted adds a lot of suspense despite never seeing the aliens, only hearing them and the gunfire, with occasional shots of the sentry guns firing into a dark hallway. But it also indicates why the aliens came in through the ceiling; because they tried the more direct route and the guns drove them off (and they don't know the guns are out of ammo now).
Oh you should have seen the directors cut of this film..it has some very interesting detail about Ripley's daughter and what goes wrong in the colony.. also it makes more sense why they want for Ripley.. cause its cause of her information they send the colony to investigate the spacejoky ship
In the first movie, you had a group of just seven characters who don’t know what they stumbled across. They also weren’t armed to the teeth, needing to put weapons together to survive. Here, the humans’ resources have been scaled up: More people, more experience, and more weapons. Easy, right? Not when the xenomorphs have ALSO scaled up, from one to an entire army and a queen. It’s more action than horror, but it’s still scary.
It keeps with the Vietnam War vibe. U.S soldiers soldiers often inflicted extensive Vietminh casualties but still couldn’t control or defeat the enemy. It also keeps with the insect analogy; ant soldiers are fearless and will keep fighting under heavy losses
@@MBG.426 Also yeah the Warriors are getting blasted easily! But a Horde is no fucking joke and are their own form of terrifying! There is NO one way to be scary my friend! The Drone is scary BECAUSE the crew it killed off were Space Truckers who were under-armed to properly deal with it! As you just stated, the Drone would NOT be so scary if it dealt with the Marines as armed to the teeth as they were! The warriors though! Who's to say if ANYONE, Ripley included would have survived if it was a Warrior that was on the Nostromo instead of a mere Drone. It's like the argument I've been hearing about which genre of horror games are better! Hide and Seek no Combat or Give you a weapon and limited ammunition! Each has their strengths and weakness of being scared! But BOTH rely HEAVILY on "Fear of the unknown" as all horror does (with limited ammunition, your left wondering if you won't later regret wasting some of that on the creature you just fought with! Many times players have had panic attacks when they found that "maybe it wasn't wise to waste their ammo as they did earlier!) but one is NOT better then the other! That's for you to decide (hell non-obvious jump scares build up properly still get me jumpy! It's cheap, but if done right that cheapness can be let go)
@@MBG.426 The tension comes in the fact that they are never ending, always present and nothing you do really slows them down. If anything that makes them scarier because in the first it is ony shown to kill so many because they have nothing to defend against it. Here you are shown that even when you have an elite team armed to the teeth they still get slaughtered. The fact the aliens can be killed easily also aids in the realism, they arent immortal killing machines, but they are good at what they do. Like predator in that regard
23:14 there was development for the guy because when the team was being killed, he froze up and couldn't do anything. But In that scene, he went back for her, and then faced his death bravely.
I can agree with having a hell of a nervous feeling in alien isolation, something is perfect with that game for just giving you a sense of tension even if you know very well what you are going to be put against
Fun Fact: The knife scene was only going to originally have Bishop's hand. So when the other soldiers hold Hudson so Bishop could put Hudson's hand under his own, Hudson's screaming is the actor Bill Paxton genuinely screaming and terrified. Also, his response afterwards is Paxton's own words, not him trying to improvise.
Following on the coattails of what was essentially a slasher movie in outer space, Aliens is probably one of the best sci-fi horror action movies ever made, right next to Terminator 2.
It's funny the same man directed BOTH those movies "Better" Sequels (I say better in that they did what a sequel is suppose to do! Surpass the previous content! This was Godly, now time to go BEYOND GODLY!) and also ended up making those sequels so good anything after them couldn't compare (With Alien, I'm only really Somewhat accepting of Alien 3! Hate that Hicks and Newt were killed off like that! But I did enjoy the finality at least...till Resurrection RUINED that! I don't full on hate Resurrection! But I agreed with Weaver in that Ripley should have stayed DEAD! I'm of the mind when a character, especially a main character has completed their character growth and arc as a Main character! Time to put them out to pasture! Whatever it's giving them a decent death, or regulating them to secondary character status for a new main character! On that front I remind the new main character does not need to be "Superior" to the previous one! They just have to be a character you can get behind! Attempt to make them "Superior" is well, the reason Rey is GREATLY disliked! Trying so hard to make her superior then Luke that "She barely needs his training" and is so much better then him only assured she was HATED MORE then any form of acceptance! But back on point! None of the Terminators AFTER the second were good! Worse you got haters of the second film blaming IT'S existence for why the future movies sucked, which is kind of unfair to do! But I just chalk it up to "Gen 1 Lunatic Fanboys/girls" pissy that Terminator 1 has a better sequel since it "implies" the first movie was bad, It was a good movie, still is! I never get Gen 1 Loonies who have to attack a popular sequel like they think once the sequel is hated, their precious Gen 1 will be seen as Perfect...nothing is perfect honey! Accept it!)
I wouldn't minimize Alien as just a slasher film. It was also a noir mystery, its scifi aesthetic is unmatched even in Aliens. But it was definitely a genre jump, together they're some of the best movies ever.
I always loved that the movie doesn't show the marines as helpless and that they were actually super effective at killing the xenomorphs. Like if they weren't set up with Gorman's inexperience and betrayer from the company Burke and had another squad of marines they probably could have gotten the job done without the disaster it was. Even the pilot when the alien snuck on board didn't freeze or scream in terror her final action was to instinctually reach for her hand gun. Even Pvt. Hudson who came off as cocky or panicky at times showed he was heroic saving Newt and Ripley and could back up his claims of being a badass by killing a bunch of xenos and going down fighting instead of screaming for his life he died blasting the ones overwhelming him dying probably in a pool of acid dead xenos and bullet casings as a colonial marine should.
I'd love to see a movie of these Colonial Marines vs. The Predator. It'd be pretty good I feel. Humans with more tech, making them better prey. Instead we got a movie about a Native American girl breaking gender norms in her tribe, fighting against the Predator when she couldn't even kill a bear.
@@Vespyr_ They considered expendable, just like the Nostromo crew. They were just there to check out the colony and verify what Burk had done. Burk was only there to get the specimens and get rich in the process. The MO of “the company” was always the same. We want the aliens for the bio weapons division.
I honestly get really excited when I see a new video by you especially because I been having a hard time cause of a health condition I have. This new video really made my day and just made me have a better day :).
This definitely ranks quite high up there on the list of movies that terrified me as a kid, but that I loved never the less. The first one is certainly great, but this one, in my opinion, is even better.
I thought they were responding to a distress call in Alien, not going in under company orders. Weyland knew the alien's were there, but needed a way to get a sample past quarantine, but also needed no witnesses. That's why Ripley was tapped to go, she knew about the alien's and might warn someone.
Prometheus really fleshes this out. Wayland corp absolutely knew about the engineers. When they played dumb it was just that. Fun fact weyland has died multiple times throughout the universe
“What’s the mission captain?” “We need to rescue people that are stranded on an alien world” “Copy, what kind of hostile are we looking at?” “Xenomorphs” “…..my legs don’t work, my arm fell off, my eyes broken and I have diarrhea. Sorry captain I’m not gonna b able to go”
It wasn't the crash of the drop ship that damaged the cooling system. It was established in the movie that their pulse rifles couldn't safely be fired where the colonists' locators led them because it was in the part of the atmosphere generator that contained its cooling system. That's why Gorman ordered Sgt. Apone to collect magazines as they approached that area. Vasquez had extras that she handed out.
The audible audio dramas for the Alien series are pretty good, great cast and acting and I think would like them if you enjoy the lore, especially “River of pain” as it deals with how the Colonists in Aliens fell to the aliens, if you are interested in them they are: “Out of the Shadows” “River of pain” “Sea of Sorrows” And the Alien 3 based off the original script that was scrapped for the theatrical version
If I could get trough Alien Isolation I think you can too. After some time you get a flamethrower and it's easier but true I was stressed too especially in the nest. I also love the sound of pulse rifle in this movie.
The girl who played Newt never did any other film acting; she got harassed pretty badly after her role in Aliens. Personally I think she did a damn fine job here.
I don't blame you for exiting out of Alien: Isolation like you did. The tension before you meet the xenomorph is pitch perfect, and it's something not everyone can handle. Absolutely one of the best video game intros ever for a horror game.
I now live in a time where Aliens is one of those "Hey this old movie is really good! Have you heard of it?". I am so old now... regardless I am very happy to know these movies wont be forgotten
If we take the director's edition into account, it takes two weeks for a message to reach Earth and 12 days to travel. So worst case: a routine message isn't responded to or a comms period is missed, so it's the ping time (full month) to determine the colony isn't responding plus travel time. Newt would've had to have survived for six weeks after the comms went down, and that could've taken place some days after the outbreak started.
One of my favorite movies of all time for so many reasons and thank you Alteori for reviewing The Alien movies! I was laughing throughout the video! 🤣❤
Personally it's very good and I really enjoyed as a kid and the Queen Xenomorph is so terrifying & awesome But yeah hope yall have a great day and I'll continue to watch this video
This movie goes HARD I love it. You're best stopping here, all the other Alien films are garbage. Also you'd think the ship the marines were on would have had more crew, it was always weird to me how massive their ship looked but it was literally only crewed by that handful of marines.
4:16 To make a simple joking question have an answer. The probable reason behind this is because around this time and just a "what the hell" ideas the 80s had is by implementing rated R franchisees into kids shows, not fucking around that was a thing, they did it with Robocop, Mortal Kombat, but for the Alien franchise was scrapped, but there is commercials that did exist of the said show to sell toys obviously. (I knew this from a UA-camr called Rebeltaxi)
The one thing that confused me was that the Marines mentioned a bug hunt I always thought that meant they encountered xenos like that before. I hate to think what types of bugs the Marines would have to hunt down. Starship Troopers type stuff maybe?
I am also praying that Alteori does a Xenomorph POV. Her raptor stories are simply amazing and I love listening to them to go to sleep with as they are so calming. Space raptors would just be so awesome.
The US tend to have this weird standard for kid actors where (especially now) where they are for some reason above criticism becuase " they are kids". Like when people talk negatively about Leia on the Obi Wan series But I feel that's disrespectful to the actuall good ones like this girl in aliens (she had no acting experience before or after) , Elijah wood, Macaulay Culkin, Edward Furlong , clohe grace moretz, Frankie Muniz, that girl from Logan (don't tell me kids can't do realistic action) .. Actors who held their own against adults and even carried their own movies as kids..
I actually think we need to stop putting the alien franchise on a pedistal.. Same with terminator.. Now I'm not saying both movies in both franchises are undying timeless classics... But they are that because of the time they where made.. We litteraly hadn't seen anything like this before.. It can't be replicated.. We are now at the point where movies can look better but there is almost nothing you can put on screen where you go "how did they even do that??" cgi has made ANYTHING possible.. So what I'm saying is we need to stop trying to make a sequel that will top or even be on lever with alien or aliens, it can't be done.. At heart these are high budget b movie sci fi horror, If we lowered our expectations mabye we could get some cool weird stories with the xenomorphs like we have in the comics for decades..
@@mullaoslo Your argument contradicts itself. People liked the originals because they were new ideas, executed well and had good stories and characters. Theres nothing stopping a new film with these characters to come out and be good. But they always lack something and its usually down to the actors, or poor story and the heavy reliance of easter eggs.
@@charg1nmalaz0r51 mabye i worded it wrong but I just feel the alien movies needs to stop trying to top or be equal to alien or aliens since both those are such pivital landmarks in movie making history.. Im not saying you can't still make good or great movies, but there's not much they can do to be as grown breaking as those first two was..
The theatrical cut of the original Alien did not include the scene where the alien had laid its own eggs, that was added back into the directors cut which was released theatrically in the 90s or early 2000s if I recall, that is why the Queen as the mechanism for egg production is in Aliens.
Lemme fix something for you. _ALIENS_ 1986 Is The Best Sequel. Yep, that looks good. It's interesting that you reviewed the extended version of _Alien,_ but you reviewed the theatrical release of _Aliens._ The extended version of this film adds a lot of great stuff, like Ripley's daughter and her fate, how the xenomorphs got to Hadley's Hope, and an awesome sequence with the sentry guns in the tunnels. Carrie Henn did an excellent job as Newt, especially considering this is her only acting credit.
Coincidentally also watched this movie for the first time in a long time Discussion about Alien and Aliens isn't like Predator and Terminator with their sequels, Terminator 2 is the superior and Predator 1 but with Alien both are extremely strong in different ways In my case I find Aliens the superior, I simply find that it improves on all accounts Also them finding Ripley and hearing her account is what got the Weyland Yutani rep to tell the colonists to go confirm the crashed ship with the Xenomorph eggs It is a traditional reason to have the foremost expert, that being her with the responding crew because text isn't like real life experience but another reason the rep wants Ripley is because she is a loose end, Aline movie happened because of Weyland Yutani just like this movie This is also why he took a inexperienced commander, he has no connection to the troops and would be much more concerned with his future and how this mission would be seen even if literally everyone is dead, so the rep saw him as a great target for manipulation since he is the rep of the super company, even if in all likely hood the rep would have killed him aswell so he could take sole credit for the Xeno egg
yovi had the same deal with alien colonial marines. had to put it away for a month. then when I picked it back up and came across a bug it was more like ' may I introduce you to our Lord and saviour, SHOTGUN'
Did you know this movie was heavily influenced by the Vietnam war? A bunch of Marines drop onto a foreign planet, equipped to the brim with the most advanced technology and gung-ho about killing enemies, yet they are decimated and taken out by creatures with claws and fangs that are very good at hiding. This is a call to the US military vs the Vietcong. Plus there's the whole "corporation benefiting from the war" angle with Burk.
7:49 not only do the facehuggers also have acid blood like the xenos to help defend themself. but they also have a method of make sure they stay on the host. not sure if you noticed in the last movie but when the facehugger latched onto to that one dude's face it had it's tail wrapped around his neck. this was actually a warning to other organisms that it will choke it's host to death if they don't leave it alone. another reason is because it helps the facehugger hold on to it's host
Funfact in the comics there's a xenomorph called the Queen Mother who's the Supreme ruler of all the xenomorphs on their homeworld Xenomorph Prime. She lays nothing but queen eggs and eggs of her own personal royal guards called palatines. I don't know how the original Queen Mother came to be but if a Queen Mother dies then a palatine will be chosen to be the next Queen Mother. Just think about that, in this movie all this trouble cause by only one queen when it turns out that in the galaxy there's possibly thousands of queens.
4:00 if you think about it, she has like 50'ish years worth of paychecks (as she was working while entering into cryo-state).. She could just tell em to f off and go live a happy life.
That man with the Homer Simpson-like look of fear after the drop ship took it's fiery dip was none other than the one, the only, Bill Paxton! He's a pretty legendary actor who unfortunately passed away somewhat recently. He actually directed a pretty good horror movie called Frailty that might be worth a watch one of these days if it sounds interesting to ya. It's got a good cast with Bill Paxton, Matthew McConaughey, Powers Boothe, and two child actors that were quite good if I'm remembering right. Paxton plays their father who comes home one day out of the fucking blue and tells them God spoke to him, revealing demons are on Earth among them masquerading as humans. So God gave him special weapons which consist of an old, worn axe and other totally normal looking shit. I won't go any more into detail but shit gets crazy. I'm lovin' these Alien vids, haven't seen the third one in forever so I'm really looking forward to that one. This was one of my favorites as a kid, and seeing Newt in danger just scared the living fuck outta me as a kid. Great vid!!
Alien and Aliens are considered the only Alien movies as the ones that came after were not well received. I love your review of Aliens, Alteori. Can't wait to see your Alien 3 review.
5:25 how I understood it- most any other way you would kill someone is going to leave a lot more visible proof that they were intentionally killed. A magazine in the throat will kill you and leave very little external evidence of foul play. Since he was the doctor he could hide internal trauma, but if he strangled her, or killed her some other way, the remaining crew would see evidence she was murdered Edit- up till he takes damage he is not malfunctioning, he's following orders
You should really watch sovietwomble playing alien isolation! His absolute fear whilst TRYING to be calm is hilarious to watch, makes me laugh every time. Great video by the way.
Aliens is my favorite out of the series for sure. The Xenomorph queen is so iconic. And you can't forget the memorable line "get away from her you bitch"
This is one of the GREATEST movies ever made imo. Its one of those rare few sequels that are equally good if not better than the first one. The actors are all perfect choices, the dialogue is written so well and delivered brilliantly by all, the special effects are amazing. Ive seen this movie at least a few dozen times and i am entertained every single time. Alien and Aliens are THE go to movie example whenever you hear someone prattling on about lack of "Strong women" representation.... whatever that is. With Ripley (Sigourney Weaver) you dont even think about it that way because the portrayal feels so natural and believable. She overcomes REAL hardships, not by having ZERO fear and girl bossing the aliens to death with her unlimited skills, but by facing her fears and adapting in the moment in some brilliant character development and REAL authentic emotional responses. Its done so well that you never question anything or roll your eyes at it. She is THE ultimate example of what the "strong woman" character is supposed to be.
oh yeah, if you're really into the lore of aliens, there's plenty of good books/ audio books that really go into detail about the whole Hadley's Hope colony and how things went down
I LOVE All 3 of the Alien movies (Although the 3rd 1, wasn't as well received as the 1st 2). ...&😒i'm not going talk about the 4th one & definitely not going talk about everything after that (including AVP). Also, I could be wrong, but 🤔 I think there was some sort of non-written rule, limiting the amount of "bad language" they can use in films back then. Due to fears of organizational ratings levels ...etc. (PG &... above). ..Which is probably why they're speaking a little weird. ( But, I think, It's at least it a better effort than 😑 "Monkey-Fighting Snakes on this Monday-to-Friday Plane"😁)
This franchise is amazing, the books and branch off novels are awesome too, the cold forge, carybdeids, and now colony war go so much further into the nitty gritty, political, and weaponization of the xenomorphs, you also learn about the icse, union of progessive peoples, three world empires and other big factions
"As a synthetic, he still has a desire not to be destroyed." Of course he does. Asimov's Third Law. He'd read out the First Law already on the Sulaco. Second Law compliance is implicit in his actions and motivations. And the Zeroth law is in effect as well. EDIT: ASIMOV's not Newtons.
While I love this movie, it helped start a trend I have ultimately come to resent: If there is a successful sci-fi horror movie, the sequels will slowly turn into action movies.
the first time i watched this movie, i was 6 years old (rated R and my mother was vehemently against my brother and I seeing that film). the xenomorphs became seared into my memory as a variant of really angry bees (hives and all). however, the more i learn about Xenomoprhs, the more i understand that they are a fantastic movie antagonist. their hive structures are made in a way that a drone can molt into a new queen, if the former hive queen dies. this is activated via telepathic link (aliens vs predator game, specimen 6). which means that killing a queen only delays them. and this also excludes the shenanigans on their homeworld (comics lore, i think alien covenant and prometheus retconned that)
Why doesn't this video have more views dammit ❤ 6:27 Check out Alien : River of Pain Audio Drama to find out what happened to Hadley Hope before the Events of Aliens.. It's really, really good.
I think the final quarter of the film is relatively underwhelming. First in that the Alien *again* snuck onto an escaping ship, which is a bit too similar to the first film. But more importantly, I thought Ripley going back into the Alien hive to save Newt SEVERELY undermined the sense of threat the Xenomorphs carried - the way the Alien was portrayed in the first movie, no sane person would ever go into a hive full of them. But even worse, she succeeded, with neither one of them harmed. I thought that whole sequence diminished the aura of the Xenomorphs.
Alien and Aliens are the only 2 films in the Alien franchise that I consider cannon in my head. I've been watching those movies since I was a super little kid and the first two are just my favorites, that's it. (I do really enjoy the books, comics, and the Tabletop Game though)

I really like this movie because you can really tell that Ripley has had some experience with kids. And if you've ever played Alien Isolation you'd know that she did, in fact, have a daughter and I just think it's so clever the way they played off of that.

The 80s were when ladies could be epic Heroes and no one lost their minds, amazing time for movies and anime.
Dunno what you're talking about, Hollywood tells me there's never been good female actors until the past few years... -.-
@@theworstcatholic7247 Is there a Scottish accent around 'The Message'?
So interesting fact in regards to the director's cut of the film, James Cameron has said he wishes for that version to be the true way viewers experience the film as it added much more than the theatrical release. In particular because Ripley's daughter, Amanda, is referenced in a scene before the hearing.
It was to give her relationship with Newt more weight and emotion.
Another two fun behind the scenes facts:
1: James Cameron was constantly butting heads with the crew members because they kept dropping everything to have afternoon tea, even if they were in the middle of filming a scene. (The movie was filmed in the UK).
And
2: James Cameron's pitch to Fox was literally writing ALIEN in capital letters on a white board, adding an S at the end, and then turning the S into a $.
Oh my god, Cameron was a genius 😂
The scene where she looks down and sees the elevator coming up and you know that the queen is inside is one of the scariest moments of my childhood
Cameron stated that one of his inspirations for the Colonial Marines were Vietnam war movies, so the action movie influence is pretty spot on.
It's cheap, but if done right that cheapness can be let go)
Yeah. As scary as a kitten. 🤦
Fun Fact. One of the alien suitmen befriended the girl who played Newt.
So a grown up stuntman befriended a young girl.... sounds a tad creepy!
Following on the coattails of what was essentially a slasher movie in outer space, Aliens is probably one of the best sci-fi horror action movies ever made, right next to Terminator 2.
@Joshua 1992 I don't know, but I remember playing that video game.
One of the best sequels and movies in history, hands down
Yeah, just like Batman and Robin was the best sequel to Tim Burton's Batman. Smfh
Seeing that lady stuck to the wall begging for death was heart-breaking
@@walkwithoutrhythm9858 That bear is a hero.
If they were lead properly they actually could have possibly killed the queen themselves. But they were sabotaged from the start by the company.
@@Vespyr_
They considered expendable, just like the Nostromo crew.
I am glad that I was able to put a smile on your face. I hope you feel a bit better
I believe they work for the company but the android in the first one, and I think the person in charge, was instructed to carry home a specimen
Prometheus really fleshes this out. Wayland corp absolutely knew about the engineers. When they played dumb it was just that.
Fun fact weyland has died multiple times throughout the universe
Rest In Peace Bill Paxton.
Killed by an Alien, a Terminator, and a Predator.

That’s freaking hilarious!!!
The movie serves as an homage to several westerns like The Wild Bunch, The Magnificent Seven, Rio Bravo, and The Searchers.
In what way?
It wasn't the crash of the drop ship that damaged the cooling system. It was established in the movie that their pulse rifles couldn't safely be fired where the colonists' locators led them because it was in the part of the atmosphere generator that contained its cooling system. That's why Gorman ordered Sgt. Apone to collect magazines as they approached that area. Vasquez had extras that she handed out.
Fun Fact: the movie itself was written and directed by James Cameron.

I thought that was common knowledge by now.
The audible audio dramas for the Alien series are pretty good, great cast and acting and I think would like them if you enjoy the lore, especially “River of pain” as it deals with how the Colonists in Aliens fell to the aliens, if you are interested in them they are:
“Out of the Shadows”
“River of pain”
“Sea of Sorrows”
And the Alien 3 based off the original script that was scrapped for the theatrical version
What is this Alien 3 you speak of, there has never been a movie by that title. To insist such a thing is sacrilege.

The uploads this week are so good!
I'm so glad you enjoy :D
Nice !
One of my Top 10 Favorite Films. _Alien_ is a masterpiece of sci-fi horror and _Aliens_ is a masterpiece of sci-fi action.
One of my favorite movies of all time for so many reasons and thank you Alteori for reviewing The Alien movies! I was laughing throughout the video! 🤣❤

This is truly one the top 5 best horror sequels ever made in history
this movie is considered by nearly every well known enthusiast/critic as the best science fiction movie ever made
Aliens is a good sequel to the first one as Batman and Robin was to the 1989 Batman. Gimme a break.
Personally it's very good and I really enjoyed as a kid and the Queen Xenomorph is so terrifying & awesome
But yeah hope yall have a great day and I'll continue to watch this video
This movie goes HARD I love it.
You're best stopping here, all the other Alien films are garbage.
Also you'd think the ship the marines were on would have had more crew, it was always weird to me how massive their ship looked but it was literally only crewed by that handful of marines.
4:16
To make a simple joking question have an answer.
Nostromo and Aliens 2 are my favs from the franchise.
Like when people talk negatively about Leia on the Obi Wan series
But I feel that's disrespectful to the actuall good ones like this girl in aliens (she had no acting experience before or after) , Elijah wood, Macaulay Culkin, Edward Furlong , clohe grace moretz, Frankie Muniz, that girl from Logan (don't tell me kids can't do realistic action) .. Actors who held their own against adults and even carried their own movies as kids..
The more recent alien movies didn't do the series justice. We need one more.
Covenant disappointed me very much...
1:27 She also had a daughter that she was told had passed away but it was cut from the final movie.
OMGGGGG. That is horrible :(
Lemme fix something for you.
Coincidentally also watched this movie for the first time in a long time
Discussion about Alien and Aliens isn't like Predator and Terminator with their sequels, Terminator 2 is the superior and Predator 1 but with Alien both are extremely strong in different ways
In my case I find Aliens the superior, I simply find that it improves on all accounts
Also them finding Ripley and hearing her account is what got the Weyland Yutani rep to tell the colonists to go confirm the crashed ship with the Xenomorph eggs
It is a traditional reason to have the foremost expert, that being her with the responding crew because text isn't like real life experience but another reason the rep wants Ripley is because she is a loose end, Aline movie happened because of Weyland Yutani just like this movie
This is also why he took a inexperienced commander, he has no connection to the troops and would be much more concerned with his future and how this mission would be seen even if literally everyone is dead, so the rep saw him as a great target for manipulation since he is the rep of the super company, even if in all likely hood the rep would have killed him aswell so he could take sole credit for the Xeno egg
yovi had the same deal with alien colonial marines. had to put it away for a month. then when I picked it back up and came across a bug it was more like ' may I introduce you to our Lord and saviour, SHOTGUN'
10:31, Jumpscare!

Since he was the doctor he could hide internal trauma, but if he strangled her, or killed her some other way, the remaining crew would see evidence she was murdered
Edit- up till he takes damage he is not malfunctioning, he's following orders
well that makes no sense because she would have defensive wounds and bruising around her mouth and signs of asphyxiation lol.

She is THE ultimate example of what the "strong woman" character is supposed to be.
oh yeah, if you're really into the lore of aliens, there's plenty of good books/ audio books that really go into detail about the whole Hadley's Hope colony and how things went down
4:14 - Thats funny - You're a funny-Gal ! 🤣❤
That game is incredible. I definitely recommend pushing through. The stakes make it horrifying

"As a synthetic, he still has a desire not to be destroyed."
Of course he does.
Film over, man! Film over!
Also Newt got done dirty in the third movie. The cat too. :(
the first time i watched this movie, i was 6 years old (rated R and my mother was vehemently against my brother and I seeing that film). the xenomorphs became seared into my memory as a variant of really angry bees (hives and all).
however, the more i learn about Xenomoprhs, the more i understand that they are a fantastic movie antagonist. their hive structures are made in a way that a drone can molt into a new queen, if the former hive queen dies. this is activated via telepathic link (aliens vs predator game, specimen 6). which means that killing a queen only delays them. and this also excludes the shenanigans on their homeworld (comics lore, i think alien covenant and prometheus retconned that)
00:56, hey, its the guy from Stranger Things!

6:27 Check out Alien : River of Pain Audio Drama to find out what happened to Hadley Hope before the Events of Aliens..
You have to be my favorite you tuber ever
Alien and Aliens are the only 2 films in the Alien franchise that I consider cannon in my head. I've been watching those movies since I was a super little kid and the first two are just my favorites, that's it. (I do really enjoy the books, comics, and the Tabletop Game though)
