Thank you for this excellent review and demonstration. With all the cutting and prep of the veggies beforehand, it's convinced me that I really don't need one of these in my life. If I have to do all that prep, I'd just as soon as keep on going and chop it on the board. One board to clean, one knife to clean. Not countless little pieces with extremely dangerous blades. Thank you for helping me make my decision.
You're welcome. Glad I could help you make a decision.
I also thank him for the exact same reason. I was wondering if he had to cut it into such small pieces to use the device, why not just keep cutting? I get he's doing a review. Again I thank him for it. Just that I'm looking for something ya can put the whole onion, potato, or whatever in there and have it diced.
The house explosion 😂
Great demo and I LOVE your humor! You made me chuckle out loud!!!! 😃
Thanks. I'm glad you enjoyed the content.
I love the tip you shared on how to chop the cilantro!
I have to admit, I stole the idea from a comment in my previous review of the same chopper. Works like a charm.
I punched the like button just as hard as you punch that device
Thank you so much! Hope you enjoyed the video.
🤣🤣🤣
You went above and beyond for this review, thank you so much!
Glad you enjoyed it!
This is such a genuinely helpful video! I would totally watch you just compare different vegetable choppers.
I'm glad you found my video useful.

Thanks for this awesome review! Subscribed ⭐️
Glad you enjoyed the review.
Very much work ! Thank you !
Glad it helped
I just bought one for me,one for the son..I love it! No issues, slam away and enjoy
Right on! Hope you enjoy it.
i feel like i need this now, thank you
You're welcome! I hope it works out well for you.
This was helpful, thank you!
You're welcome!
This was actually really helpful - I had the same experience with cilantro
Glad I could be of service.
Yet another gadget for the storage closet. Thanks for the review.
I'm glad the review was helpful to you.
Amazing video! Just what I needed, just purchased it and was a little lost
Hi Brenda, glad my video gave you the help you needed. Hope it also entertained you along the way too.
Good Tips. Specially the cilantro. The house explosion cool.
Glad you enjoyed the video enough to comment twice!
This helped me realize I cannot julienne my bell pepper and should just do it the old fashioned way, but that I can do my onions. Thanks! That's exactly what I was looking to know.
Glad I could be of service
thank you for helping me avoid the trouble of ordering through amazon, test it and return it the next day.
There's absolutely no way I'd peel and slice my tomato's just to prep them for this thing 😂😂
Glad I could help!

Wow, thank you!
I've got it. And it's absolutely amazing 😍
I'm glad you're happy with it. Hope it serves you well.
@@HappyHealthyWife it does. And I can't do without it!
I ordered and am waiting for mine!
So you have to wash in between because everything will taste like onion right?
@@gailfillmore6391Definitely wash between cooking sessions. After picking out the food pieces from the push block with the comb it should wash up in the top rack of a dishwasher just fine.
The mistake with the spiralising is that you're inserting the courgette/zucchini at 45 degrees when it should be 90 degrees (the gripper should be parallel with the top surface). Then there will be much less wastage, or none, if you don't count the bit right under the gripper.
Thanks for the great review. I think the problem most people have with this type of chopper
is " Chopper Timidity ". You have to SLAM that blade down like you mean it people.
Your video helped me decide on this model, thanks.
Glad I could be of service. Hope this chopper works out for you.
Slam it like you mean it...
Got me in stitches 😂
@@kasino19 Just like when you're with your wife and she's a little older and fatter than she used to be so you need to slam with all your might to get into it enough to finish.
i like mine and it saves me time
Lmao the house exploding I did not expect that. Thank you for the thorough review.
Glad you enjoyed the review and the humor.
when the house blow up tho lmao had me dying i was already saying he was using it like he had a lifetime supply
Nice to hear somebody appreciating the comedy in the review.
Super video. Loved the Cilantro trick. Do you have any tricks for fine chopping of garlic+ginger root?
Glad you liked the cilantro trick, I learned about it from a commenter on a previous video. For garlic and ginger root, I would either use a micro plane or a fine cheese grater. I haven't seen a chopper blade fine enough to do the job. You might also consider a garlic press.
Just cut it in thin slices and put the slices in the chopper.
I enjoyed watching this video lol
I'm glad you liked it.
Jesus, are you trying to break the thing 😂
Hasn't broken yet, and I have been using that method for over 2 years as I have found that a quick force helps the blades cut your vegetables better than slowly added pressure. Just take a look at the struggle I faced when slicing the potatoes for French Fries.
@@HappyHealthyWife well that's if u want bent fries! 😂 Wow 2 yrs without breaking is great! Do you use it often?
@@princess3193 I probably use it about 1-2 times per week, 2 - 10 poundings per use.
@@HappyHealthyWife Thanks for responding. That's pretty good. I ordered one last night during the Prime special. I hope it lasts like yours! Some reviews on Amazon say that it broke rather quickly. Also, there's different ones available, so they have changed the style over the years. I better get a good one lol.
@@HappyHealthyWife I just bought a Mueller chopper and I hope the build quality is just as good.
Thanks for this video cuz ive had one for 2 years now and could not get the spiraling correct lol
Glad I could help.
Great job, Chef Barry. What is the email address to get your book? Will you send me a paper version or an online version?
I have paper versions to send out. The email is HappyHealthyWife @ yahoo.com
I want a veggie chopper to make more pico de gallo
I appreciate your ability to take negative comments on the chin. Anyway thank you for the review!
You're welcome
my dude was showing that thing no mercy he was handling it like you wish you could without breaking it right off the rip
Hasn't broken yet. And as the blades get dull, I'm finding myself pounding harder and harder
I like these bc I do feel that they control the size of what you’re chopping. For cilantro, I don’t think I would use a chopper.
Excellent choice!
Mine is coming on Friday
Hope it serves you well.
Can anyone tell me where I can buy a fitting tight lid for the FullStar Vegetable Chopper’s container ( catch tray ) !?!
That is a nice idea. I've seen other vegetable choppers with them. Maybe you can contact Fullstar and see if they are willing to make one. I've tried contacting them before, but have not gotten a response.
Omg 😳, I thought you were going to break it with the potato 🥔!!!!🤣😂🤣
Haven't broken it yet with 4 years of use. But for $30, I will just buy a new one once I break it.
I use a very sharp chef knife to cut up my celantro and my garlick.
Good Video. Where is the safety glove? Lol
Good question! If you want safety gloves, I got you: ua-cam.com/video/LhKsmwq0FPE/v-deo.html
Cool, even if you only used it for onions. Almost every recipe starts with sautéing an onion.
I agree completely.
AMEN!!!!!!!
Does it come with a French fry cutter? Please answer
The version I used does not come with a French fry cutter. They have a mandolin which will cut French fries, but the chopper is mostly for chopping.
If anyone would like an easy way to separate the yolk from the egg white. I’ve done this to make meringue with no trouble, so I know it’s good and it’s very easy.
Simply get a tiny bowl, crack the egg into it, and with a regular spoon scoop up the yolk. Then add the egg white to your working bowl.
This is perfect for making a meringue because if you mess up, you’re only messing up the one egg in the tiny bowl.
Great tip
great video
i would say the deluxe model is worth it. why?
i dont have a juicer, spiraler, ribboner, egg mandolin/murshoom mandolin....
so do i need a chopper? yeah, but all those other things i have none of. so rather than buy 3 or 4 other things, its worth it my scenario for example
In your case, you may find that the extra tools are worth the extra price.
This kinda seems like it just takes more time than just actually chopping them 🤣
In small quantities and for some items certainly you are correct. I generally pull it out when I'm chopping onions or if I'm chopping lots of vegetables into small chunks like for a chunky salsa.
@@HappyHealthyWife Yeah, that makes sense. Thank you for the reply! Enjoy the rest of your day
I agree but figured it may be useful for people who dont have a good pinch grip or have some sort of disability where knife handling just doesnt work. Or osmeone who uses like 3 onions every meal
I'd be happy to receive one of these as a gift, but I don't know if I could be fussed with this. I'd probably prefer a nice knife.
I know what you mean. A good sharp knife works wonders.
I have never seen someone use a vegetable chopper for herbs. Interesting
I just got one. It didn’t come with peeler and now watching I’m glad. Didn’t come with separator
Hi Nançy, I hope you enjoy using it.
Does it work with hard carrots?
Yes, yes it does. Just not hard sweet potatoes.
Please I need this chopper. How can I get it?
You might be able to find one in stores, but I got mine through Amazon
Here is a link to the Amazon page to buy one.

20 minutes Nancy? Is a good gift for mom…
It very well could be a good gift
11:51 at this point we used rubber mallet 😂.
A rubber mallet isn't a bad idea. It would work, certainly.
Can you chop beans using this thing?
If the beans are dry, I don't think the chopper would be able to cut through them. If the beans were soaked first, then it might work to cut through them, but you might need to place something hard and flat over top of them like a bell pepper as I do for herbs. So I would guess that this device wouldn't be the best for chopping beans.
Why is there no videos with green peppers and red peppers
I want to see the mandolin. Tried tomatoes. Maybe didn’t use it right
Hi Nançy, the firmer the tomato, the easier it will chop. The softer, the easier it will smash it and squirt out the juices everywhere. As least, that has been my experience. I had a separate mandoline, so I didn't get one with the chopper. I would rather not want to try and guess as to the quality of their mandoline.
I'm waiting for the mandolin! I had the Cordon Bleu one but it scared me!!! Lol
Seems like they need to make the blade square big enough for a full onion.
That would be nice. But even if they did, I would probably still slice off the edges to get a more square dice instead of a rectangle dice.
And how big is a "full" onion??? Many onions, many sizes...
@@robinholbrook6576 if you don't know what people mean when they say "an onion" I think you need to get out more.
Pampered chef has a mandolin that you do not have to slam
Okay, but how would you use a mandoline to chop up foods and not just slice or julienne?
Reminds me of Desantis.
Desantis?
Es perejil cual cilantro jakajaj
I put the onion on top of cilatro and parsley.
That's a good way to chop up those herbs.
Trim the ends of the potato to cut long sticks!
That might work. I'll try it next time.
Mine did not come with that tomato peeler or juicer.
It depends upon which version you ordered. Some come with mandoline blades, some come come with the juicer and peeler, some just come with 4 blades.
Looks great, but still can't understand why you got to cut or slice or unpeel the food in the first place. At the point, might as well just keep chopping by hand 😅
I mainly use this device to chop up onions (I hate tearing up), make pico de gallo and chop up vegetables to use in pot pies and soups at this point. Otherwise, I'll use a knife.
Can it handle watermelon? (a Gallagher reference)
Not as well as Gallagher.
You mean happy healthy life
Happy Wife, Happy Life
No fun to clean. You couldn't give me these push-down style units.
Don’t punch the ring so hard.😂😂😂
It's old and has been used a lot. So I guess the blades aren't as sharp hence the punching.
*if you laydown the cilantro first, and put onions on top of it. then...and you need to but ripe tomatoes, not fresh ones. and even better, get heirloom tomatoes.*
Sounds great!
With the exception of your nasally sounding voice, your video is spot on.
Thanks... I think.
I am legally blind. For me, this chopper will work well as I can see enough to not go too close to the blades.
Rate what
The center of zucchini is the seeds & mushy….
Oh, I see. So maybe it's by design that the spiralizer doesn't spiralize the center part.
Sounded like you said, "happy ugly wife" lol
Wow! Happy = Ugly? I need to annunciate better.
WHY IS THERE LIKE 5 MILLION ADS ON THIS lol
Egg ring is an overcooked egg. Not time in fridge.
Never knew that before. Thanks for watching and commenting.
I found it useless if I have to cut everything on smaller pieces... Cutting, smashing, cleaning after.... For that time I will be ready with the knife.
Excellent. Glad my video helped you decide that this vegetable chopper isn't for you.
Not good for fist to bang. Plus it's faster you cut by hand unless you're cutting something like 10kg
Yes, I'm wondering how long it will last when I bang it like that. And, yes for most things it is faster to cut them by using a knife. I still like it for onions, making salsa, making French fries, and carrots/celery/onions for when I make soup.
oh man i feel like its much easier to just chop them with a plain knife.
I do not disagree with you. There are many times I use my knife instead of the chopper, but not for pico de gallo.
I don't slice my onions I cut the ends off, I cut it into four and then I just throw it in there
Cool. It sounds like you like big slices of onions in your dishes. Probably wouldn't benefit you to get a vegetable chopper then.
Why are my apples not cubing?!😩
To make cubes, the apples need to be sliced before putting them into the chopper. Slice the apple so that the slices are the same width as the squares in the blades. About 1/2 inch thick slices for the medium dicer and 1/4 inch thick for the fine dicer.
Sir the Serrano pepper you should remove the skin cus it’s not edible
Thanks for the tip. Is it the same for pasilla peppers because those are the ones I use the most?
Source?
😂😂😂❤❤❤
Genius, cut the cilantro first and let the onion do the cleaning work, or cover the cilantro or parsley with an onion skin.
I wish I could take credit for the idea, but I got if from a commenter like you on a previous video.
This things to be real kinda sucks. I need it mainly for garlic and their to big also on description it says it can also slice which it can't do in returning it it also expensive it's 30 for a 4 piece set way to much
Sounds like this chopper is not for you. Some versions of the slicer comes with mandoline type blades so that they can slice. And if you want an easy way to chop garlic finely, might I suggest a fine cheese grater or a microplane. Those work wonders for me.
It just seems like a lot of hassle for something you could do in the same or less time with a sharp knife
I agree. Professional chefs need not apply. But I'm not a professional chef so...
LMAO. So how long does this chopper last with you slamming down with your fist all the time?????
I dont think this device would last very long if we have to bang it around like you did.
Several Amazon reviews say this device is not that durable, no matter what you say.
I will pass on getting one of these and do everything by hand like I have been doing.
Glad you found my video useful and to answer your question, I've been slamming down on it for over 3 years so far. I must have been one of the lucky ones who got one that's durable.
Those would be a waste to me. I just use the shells
Personally, I don't use every item myself. Generally just the chopper blades and the egg slicer.
O.M.G its a major operation...just get on with it...ZZZzzzz
I can chop cilantro 10x faster without all the gymnastics and cleaning up the machine.
Sounds good. Then I guess you don't need a vegetable chopper to chop your cilantro.
You use your knife just as much 😂
I agree. There is a need to use a knife to cut down the vegetables to the correct size. But I still prefer to use the chopper for chopping onions and as a more enjoyable way for me to make pico de gallo.
By the time you clean this thing and cut up veggies anyway, you’re just better off using a knife. Ty for the review.
Yep, the clean up takes more effort than cleaning a knife. Glad I could be of assistance.
Why is it so big
The bigger it is, the more it can chop?
Spend some time and learn how to use a knife. It really is faster. Time is money for chiefs, hense they WILL NEVER use these kind of gadgets in the kitchen. If looks are not so important to you, you are better off with a food processor.
Maybe for you a knife is faster for chopping an onion, but for me the chopper is faster: ua-cam.com/video/PigTf4MEn94/v-deo.html . I don't believe that everybody needs to have chef level skills when using knives.
And you said that Chef's never use these kinds of gadgets? What about a mandoline? What about a French fry cutter? Are they not similar gadgets for use in a kitchen? I've seen and heard of plenty of chefs using those 2 devices in particular.
But don't just take my word for it, here's a video from Epicurious where Chef Frank actually uses one of these type of gadgets to chop an onion ua-cam.com/video/5kOUV6srez4/v-deo.html
Not sure what you mean by looks not being important. The pico de gallo that I make with the chopper looks very good.
honestly the point is means everybody is lazy
I am the embodiment of that statement. I've seen Lazy being used in both ways too. Some people are too Lazy to take out the chopper and clean it afterwards believing it takes less time to use knives, others are too lazy to do all the chopping and would rather chop an onion in one go.
Demo'er should not be getting anywhere near the blades with a bare hand. It's not like a knife, it will cut you like the finest scalpel and your flesh will jump. I could see this cutting right to the bone of your finger. When I learned this lesson it took two weeks to heal. USE THE INCLUDED GLOVES.
It's too big a hassle to cut anything leafy that will get stuck in the pusher. That part of the setup is very hard to clean when you are using the fine chopper blades.
Have to say for a kitchen gadget it's great. I wouldn't have it in my house if I had children of any age, however.
Wow, sounds like you really cut yourself badly.
Freeze your tomatoes thraw them out the skin peel
Easy
That sounds like a nice trick to be able to peel tomatoes. I'll have to try it sometime
cut the potatoes
Absolutely
The trick would be to run the tomatoes after the cilantro 🤡
That is a good idea. I shall try that.
Don’t do what he does by smacking like a hammer it will break smh 🤦♂️
What makes you think it will break? I've had the same one for 3 years and it hasn't broken so far.
I had one of these. these cheap china blades can't cut for shit.
My fingers would beg to differ, but that was when it was brand new. At the same time, I would agree that the blades are not terribly sharp, hence the need for the extra force to chop up what you need.
