I've had my V-Slicer since the 90s, and it's still as (dangerously!) sharp as when I took it out of the box. I've never come across one better. Germany makes the best products!

I swear by this mandolin. I bought mine at Dufferin Mall in Toronto Ontario Canada 🇨🇦 back in the late 80's til now. I love it. Now after seeing this I have to find where to buy another one. I thought they might have discontinued this model so glad they haven't. Great equipment to have in your kitchen.

My First Börner V slicer Mandoline, I bought around 1973-5 in Frankfurt. Still good and sharp but I also finally bought the new version of thıs German Börner Mandoline. Börner mandoline makes my life easy and fun in the kitchen. Must have gadget is this Börner Swissmar Mandoline V slicer at every Home.

This is the best video I've run across so far for the basics of using the Boerner mandolines!
And all of these tips and cutting techniques work whether you're using the V-1001 Plus or the V-5 Powerline model (also sold as V7000 Power).

I rarely add comments, however this product is so good I could not resist. The design is breathtakingly complete, from the drip dry holder, to the stay sharp blades. I keep this on my counter, and unlike other slicers I've had, I actually use this all the time. The grub holder secures the food better than other flimsy models I've used, and I have not knicked myself once in all the months of slicing and dicing.

I got my first Borner "V" Slicer in 1973 after seeing a live demonstration at "South Coast Plaza Shopping Center". I still have and use it ... 45 years of use... only problem I've ever had was putting it in dishwasher... The dry cycle warped some of the plastic housing... but it still works!

About 20 years ago I bought this Bonner Mandoline from Germany, and stored in a cupboard and forget about. Yesterday, I was wondering about this Mandoline whereabouts. Now I found it. It's still absolutely brand new. Only little discoloration on plastic base. No problem.
    Start Using.

Why am I still awake, and why is this so satisfying to watch? 😂 The wholesome German synth accompaniments are healing my tormented boreal soul. I just glanced in the mirror and I have a Nietzsche mustache and nodded like, "Everything is going to be OK." Then an eagle shrieked and landed on my shoulder as the Sun broke the horizon and I heard my legions assemble in formation.

I saw a chicken chow mein recipe that I want to make... it calls for matchstick carrots, celery ( not the celery into matchsticks...just chopped in an angle) mushrooms but I'll omit the mushrooms... bean sprouts and chinese fresh noodles and of course chicken...along with chopped garlic, ginger, and scallions and a sauce with rice wine, soy sauce, oyster sauce, chicken broth, a pinch of cornstarch, a smidge of white pepper...I still have to get some of the ingredients...I will make it as soon as I get the all of the ingredients and without the mandoline for now...I just have to chop by hand... when I do attempt to make it, I'll let you know how I make out chopping by hand ...wish me luck :)

try home made coleslaw. Basically, cabbage (either red or white) as much onion as you like, carrot, perhaps some apple to make it sweeter. Half and half mayo and salad cream (or mayo and plain yogurt). Make a large bowl full, then divide into smaller bowls. To one add pineapple chunks, to another juicy sultanas and curry powder, grated cheese to another portion. Let your imagination go wild and impress your friends and family with your very cheaply made but totally high quality, unique hand made coleslaw.

I got mine in the 80’s. A while ago I wondered if it shouldn’t be upgraded to a fancy one with a box, legs etc, so I went on YT to see a regent test by America’s Test Kitchen. Couldn’t believe my eyes, the winner looked exactly like this one. A week or so ago, I was ordering Universal-Stein (a fab natural cleaner I used for almost 20 yrs) and found that the co also sells this.Since mine didn’t come with a box, I was so happy to see that they sold bores for less than 5 bucks (US)... Now it is even neatly stored, added an elastic, so it can lie flat too. 👏👍😊

Great instructional video. I could not get the hang of using the teeth blade and do the "turn 90 degrees" movement to chop an onion so I was hoping to get some info here but it turns out I don't even need to do that, I can just slice the onion a few times before using the teeth blade to chop an onion. Kudos. On the other hand, the music is absolutely annoying, what's with the high tempo muzak? We're not doing battles with the vegetables! Please, please, remove the music track, and if you must use music, some soothing background music would be much better.

I was really disappointed , I ordered a mandolin and all I got was this finger remover. Imagine my surprise as I was at the dance hall awaiting my mandolin to be delivered. The rest of the band were upset with me as the show was about to start ....the fiddle player and the banjo player were tuning up , the guitar player was staring me down. Time was ticking, the audience was getting nervous as they awaited the music to begin. Finally the Amazon truck pulled up. I stood at the back door near the stage..when the delivery man grabbed the box out of the back of the truck the rest of the band started strumming and adjusting ....in comes delivery man ( I thought the box looked too small to be my mandolin......I was amazed to find an actual food slicer 'mandolin' and not my musical stringed instrument.....Im no longer a professional musician........but my God is this thing sharp. 'F' sharp ! Get it?
