I just bought one of these, washed the parts, and set it aside until I could find a good tutorial on how to use it. Yes, it came with directions, but I am a more visual learner. I've watched several videos, and yours is by far the best! You've inspired me to get chopping and slicing. I've liked and subscribed to your channel. Thank you.
I really liked your straight to the point and honest review of this chopper; you point out its strong points, as well as its drawbacks. (I wish the manufacturer would do this themselves, as it would impress me.) I was most appreciative of your safety warnings about the blades; I have very sharp blades on my food processor - when I take the trouble to set it up - and its blades are also so razor sharp that I force myself to be so careful. I'm a vegetarian and spent a lot of time preparing vegetables. ☺☺☺
I have something similar to that. I use it all the time for dicing my onions, peppers, tomatoes, cucumbers with the small size dicer. I use the larger size dicer for potato salad and hash browns and diced tomatoes. Saves a lot of time! Have fun with your new tool!
I love mine. I've had it over a year & it is a time saver. Some things are easier w/ a knife, just as long as it's sharp. And yeah, it'll cut ya just like that. Use the glove.
Great video voiceover. When people use the item and talk at the same time, I find the narration is not this good and clear. It's a well made review video.
Thanks for reviewing this. I had bough too many veggies last month and had to throw out some because they were going bad so I decided to look into a chopper to make prep easier. After seeing how great it worked I ordered one but also started watching your videos as I had changed to a vegetarian life style 3 years ago and found with covid I was slipping up on my eating. I checked my blood pressure and sure enough it had gone up so am now paying serious attention to how you are doing this. I started 2 days ago and already am seeing the blood pressure drop (totally going caffeine free) Anyway thanks for sharing all the great information!
I agree about the onions thing. Just for that it's worth it. I mean I can do the trick where you leave the end of the onion on, slice almost up to the top, slice the flat way almost up to the top, then cut across for a pretty quick easy dice, but then you have to transfer it, and start the process over for each section. This looks good. Thanks for the video!
One thing about the fine chopper is that after putting the blades in the dishwasher a few times, it developed a curve and it became progressively harder to pass the plastic part through it. Harder veggies like carrots should be pre-sliced a few times before passing them through otherwise they'll get stuck. I put the blade unit in boiling water for a minute to loosen them up but now the curve on one side of it became so pronounced that it now makes it unusable. So much so that the plastic part will get jammed in it and pull out of the housing.
Chuck, you are right!! IF, nothing else it is SO worth it...just to chop onions!! I slice them in rounds then place them in the chopper...super easy!!!
We have a similar thing that just has the two chopping/dicing blades. It makes our salad prep go SO much faster! This one is so fancy 😍 I love all of your glove reminders 🤣 We finally got a mandoline last year. Brian has wanted one for years. I made him promise he’d use the glove every time and I give him a lot of trouble about it 🙃. WEAR THE GLOVE PEOPLE (for real)!!
The square pallet...oooof, I’ve cut my thumb fairly deep with that innocent little plate (not this brand but same concept). Wear the glove, wear the glove! Nice it comes with it.
Ribbons of zucchini or carrot or yellow squash make a gorgeous salad, I use, 1 avocado, 1 cucumber 2 tbsp lemon juice and ¼ cup of water as a dressing, this made 4-6 salads each serving was ¼ of an avocado per salad or less. I used 1 zucchini, 2 yellow squash or yellow zucchini, 2 carrots spiralized it made 6 salads for us we often have in the summer as a light evening meal, yet very filling. Ps: we dressed each salad as we went and the dressing does NOT TURN brown !
On the part that you push down... the black knobs that actually touch the onion/potato/whatever. Does that detach? If it does that is a big plus because I could just throw it in the dishwasher rather than dig stuck bits of vegetable out of it.
Nice review, but curious if you can adjust the mandolin thickness for potato chips...would be nice to do 1/8 or 1/16 inch when slicing...might have to buy JUST a mandolin slicer...
I have another brand,....same type of deal, and I use it for coctail tomatoes all the time and it works great, but you must cut them in half first or you could smash them. Cut side down and a quick, fast pop. I always use the small chop blade for that. Coctails are a little larger than cherry tomatoes, and the small chop is the perfect size for Pico De Gallo, tacos, burritos, etc. I haven't tried large tomatoes but I don't think it would work well with larger tomatoes. Stick with Coctails or Cherry,...Romas etc.
Thanks Chuck, appreciate your review. Nice product however not sure I have the strength to push down when chopping. Forgetful, so the glove could be a problem too. I have a spiralizer, food processor and a vitamix . Thanks again😊
I'm scared of mandolins too and I've never even used one. I'm sticking with knife and food processor. But, good review, I might use one of these if I was cooking for a large group, but it's just me.
very nice review and OMG I love the windows! you are so lucky to have a view and natural daylight. I bet you have to clean them alot LOL but it's probably soooo worth it♥
I've had a mandolin for years & I just upgraded to another one with additional settings so mama probably won't let me buy another gadget for a little while. And yes, where a protective glove. I thought I was being careful when I was washing my blades but it went thru a sponge like butter & sliced my finger. I didn't feel it right away until.... well you know. A few stitches later & I always wear my glove. I now wash the blades with a brush that has a 1 foot handle. I never go near it with my unprotected fingers anymore.
Wow, I'm really interested in getting one of these - thank you Chuck! Big fan of yours, really like your recipes and videos! Giving you 2 enthusiastic thumbs up ! :-)
Thank you for review. I bought this but it didn’t come with the glove or a few of the attachment blades or blade holder so now I need to see if I can purchase separately. Appreciate your time!
Thank you for such an informative and demonstrative review, it got right down to the basics from un- boxing to using most of the features, pros and cons...just what I was looking for. a big (non-bandaged) thumbs up :}
@@brandnewvegan can you please make a video on that, like all the things you like doing on the food processor vs this chopper? I'm looking to buy either and it would help so much!!!
Great review. Thanks. For me, a light cooker, it doesn't seem, it will save significant time. It is well designed tool, and should be helpful for those who need lot of chopping. 😊
I got one yesterday. The first thing I did was cut my thumb!😄 It does work amazing though. Also about five years ago I cut off the tip of my middle finger with a mandolin. Haven’t used it since. It sounds like we’ve had very similar experiences in the kitchen.🤣
I just now found your channel, and am considering buying one. Since I'm vegan, I do a lot of slicing, dicing, chopping, etc of veggies, and this looks like it could be a real time saver! I have one question for you however. How has the sharpness of the blades stood up over the course of the past two plus years? Is it still sharp, or has it dulled a bit? I think everyone wants things which can cut down on prep time and counter space, and this looks like something which could do just that if it has the durability to stand up over time. Regarding your thumb, I'm sure it has healed up by now, and look at the bright side of the experience; you probably got a little extra protein and iron in your meal. Hmmm... guess that wouldn't technically qualify as vegan or vegetarian, would it? Ah well. I tried to find a silver lining to that cloud.
Hey cool! Do you think the hinge will take all the mechanical force? I saw another one that was geared like loppers there for more of a low-effort pushdown and prob more durable ythink?
Brand New Vegan So does it have gears at the hinge? Mb you could put a photo here. Bet it's good, bc all the rest looks great. You can see how a tough veg wd be a fulcrum
My first job they had like a big version of that fine dicer for our wraps and someone that was working the shift before me left the blade part in the soap side of the sink so I couldn’t see very well what was in there and couldn’t see it and reached in to grab something and slammed a couple fingers straight down on the blades 0/10 not fun lol
Instantly drawn to your review.....whatever it is...you've got it! and...I want to thank you. Hope you'll keep the quality and uniqueness to your presentations..! Look forward to seeing more of your videos. I used your link for this(I already have it....lol...bought another !)..

I jumped right into it without reading any instructions. Bad idea. Definitely good to take a minute.
I love how practical you explain things. Super easy and friendly. I will keep an eye out for your other videos.

This is literally the BEST review i've ever seen
One of the things I like about this product is how sturdy it is and how well made. It's EXCELLENT!

Can you use the small dicer ( normally for onions ) with carrots ?
I love mine. I've had it over a year & it is a time saver. Some things are easier w/ a knife, just as long as it's sharp. And yeah, it'll cut ya just like that. Use the glove.
Loved your video. A chef I know one gave me the tip of putting a towel under the cutting board to prevent movement 😉
A damp towel you use for dishes is better

This is my favorite quarantine purchase hands down.
If it's "hands down" your favorite purchase.. make sure you wear a glove. 😬

I just received mine today but it did not come with the glove. Anxious to get started. Thanks for video.
Please show us how to stack the parts in the food container to put it away.

I'm fascinated by your recipe; it sounds really good. For the dressing, did you blend the water, lemon juice, cucumber and part avocado?
Nice review, nice cool calm soothing voice/audio. Clearly spoken. Good tips and hints.

Very useful review. After few months of use, how do you sharpen the blades?
Loved this review!! I used to watch all of the Ron Popiel infomercials. You are his successor!!

Thanks for the video, I appreciate it. It's really sharp, I cut my finger when I opened it. I didn't get a glove in mines.
Oh no!
Thank for the video and the warning, I really appreciate you taking the time to help people

you should definitely try the ribbon maker in place of the spiralizer the food taste so much better
Great review. Is there an attachment that would chop to relish sized pieces? Like for dill relish.
There is a small grid chopping attachment included
Really terrific review of this product. Thank you!
I hear ya man. I took a chunk off of my thumb and it bled for 16 hours. Thankfully I can do some decent wound care.
Thanks Chuck, appreciate your review. Nice product however not sure I have the strength to push down when chopping. Forgetful, so the glove could be a problem too. I have a spiralizer, food processor and a vitamix . Thanks again😊

Just ordered mine! Can’t wait to receive it since I HATE cutting onions!
I use the large chopper to cut potatoes, squashes, and carrots for canning. So much nicer and quicker.
very nice review and OMG I love the windows! you are so lucky to have a view and natural daylight. I bet you have to clean them alot LOL but it's probably soooo worth it♥
Yep I should have watched your video Before I started!!! I have Two Cut Fingers! OUCH OUCH! Love Your demo! Thanks so very much!
Hey I was jipped. I didn't get the storage for the blades or the glove. 😔😔😔
For your carrots, try laying them on their side and then you should be able to use the guard hand tool to slide it back-and-forth

@Tech Logic You can't go wrong for the price. Do it!
Does it take a lot of force to push the dicer down? I’m a petite woman and afraid it will be tiring to push the lever down.
Depends on what you are cutting.....
Smash it. My Mum did it all the time.
honest and earnest review. You have convinced me to purchase. thank you.
So, let me get this straight (for clarity's sake); you're saying, use the glove? 😀
I would I bought one without the glove and already sliced my thumb :(
Definitely use the glove.
I believe so 😊😊
I own one and can't stress enough that you should USE THE GLOVE!!!!!!
Can anyone tell me where I can buy a fitting tight lid for the FullStar Vegetable Chopper’s container ( catch tray ) !?!
I want to know what mandoline it is ? The red one that your video.
Thank you for review. I bought this but it didn’t come with the glove or a few of the attachment blades or blade holder so now I need to see if I can purchase separately. Appreciate your time!
Helpful review of this product, Chuck. Thanks!

i tried to buy the product but its not available for india.
Would you prefer this over a food processor? Eg Cuisinart food processor
They both have their uses

Great production work! Great pacing. So many videos are hard to even get through. Thanks!
I lost the instructions and you just answered a couple of questions! Thanks and I have two gloves 🧤 😃
Does this chop tomatoes and peppers and Dice potatoes ?
Great review. Thanks. For me, a light cooker, it doesn't seem, it will save significant time. It is well designed tool, and should be helpful for those who need lot of chopping. 😊
How does dicing work on tomatoes?
I do it all the time. It'll squish out the juicy pulp & dice the flesh. Just buy a fleshy variety. Roma, for one.
i love your retrospect throughout this video, very funny xD

I love how you showed us how food would turn out after using this👍
I bought one of these and the first thing I did was cut my thumb. Kinda funny you mentioned that.
Hahahahahaha! Me too!
Thanks for the product review! When I buy, I'll use your link.
Does it slice beets?
I didn’t hear you mention if the blades are sharp? If so, how sharp are they? Would you say they are razor sharp?
Can you use the small chopper ( for onion ) for carrots ? I need it for soup. Don’t like big chopped stuff .
Don't see why not?
Very good job! Good info. Yes your video the best!
Wait, not sure about this. Did he happen to mention if he cut his thumb with his old mandolin?
Does anyone have a video on the tutorial on how to set it up
It's pretty self-explanatory
Can you dice carrots and celery with this device?
Yeppers
Pro tip put a damp rag under your cutting board and make sure to sanitize area when done
They must have stopped including the glove. I just bought a 7-1 full star chopper and there was no glove. 😢
Question: Did your come with the storage container for the blades?
Yes

What's is this? Inter-Dimensional cable?
Great review. Too much work, too many parts, too much danger. I'll stick to my food processor. Thanks again!
Is it available in India?
Onion potatoes? I have all those devices you have and I have a small kitchen. This could work!
My apt is compact, so all space is precious. Get this all-in-one. You won't regret it.
thank you great review!
Why didn’t mine come with a glove????
You need to ask the company - not me. Mine did. Maybe they quit adding them?
Bless you and wear the glove .
