The best of the Peterbilt trucks is that it is the only brand that still maintains the classic style of the models of the 70's and 80's. That was Kenworth's classic design for those years. Excellent machines that were adapted to the mountainous topography of Colombia. Greetings from Colombia Mr. Peterbilt Steve ....
What I love about your videos? Everytime I watch, I learn something new. Next one, talk about how that one guy ordered his truck with the SAME size tanks but had the D.E.F. tank moved to the back.
OK we will touch on that soon. Its a fine line, I love teaching the owners, drivers, and enthusiasts all I can but I hate creating a short cut to knowledge for lazy salesmen who do this fore a job and not out of passion. That has been my big struggle with the specing video. I have sat down to do it 30 times.....
The main reason why the tanks should be equal on both sides, is it helps with weight distribution, between the drives, and the steers on heavy loads, the more you move the tanks to the rear, the less weight you can put on the drives... and that they add the weight of the DEF tank to get equal fuel capacity as you can get....Now if you want big tanks, go with a Glider Kit, and you can have whatever you want...
I like that you addressed the other "dealers" who are trying to copy and undercut you Steve. I watched a couple of their video's here on youtube, they have literally copied your walk around's and terminology lol. Of course like you said tho, you can spot the shortcuts and "not really sure what we're doing" que's all over the truck. I mean one guy had dual 150's on a 389, and it just looked silly they were so miss-matched lol. Just remember everyone, there is only one Peterbilt Steve, and friends don't let friends go lease; have them call Peterbilt Steve instead!
I take plagiarism as a compliment but yeah the lack of originality is pretty gross. Even the background picture on the page I am sure you are referencing is very similar. I am glad you see the difference. I take that as a compliment also.
BigHoss P&R it's the newbies or EX steering wheel holders that still really don't even know how to do a pre-trip correctly. That is the market I think they're going for because anybody who's been in this game for a number of years and likes to learn about their equipment Instead of I'll just run it into the ground can easily spot the attention to detail that Steve puts into matching components and nothing is ever out of place it's always an integrated truck front to back inside and out
I think a great example of their clients is the lease op driver who made a video mad because his company wouldn't let him put Kumho Steer tires on......
500,000 and not one day of down time for brakes. I would say the lack of down time more than covered the cost of the upgrade. Thanks for the real life application information. I really do appreciate it.
I'm with ya P.S. Wheelbase plays a HUGE part of the trucks style and personality. Don't cramp its whole style over something stupid. Low,Long, clean n mean. Nailed it!
This is a good low, the fender follows the tire line and the spacing is even. They look crappy when they are lowered too much. (imho) The color combo on this sled is stunning! GREAT JOB STEVE!
Hey Steve I should know something soon. What can I do to special order a truck would I have to drive up there for us to talk? Put a deposit down for the build to start? And how much would the deposit be if required.
We can do it via phone or facetime so you can see what I see. $5000 is my standard deposit on ordering a new truck. 7-8 weeks is the current build time.
Weekly payments are only for lease to own situations but these usually run around 2300-2500 per month but there are many factors that can change those numbers
Holy cow! Great color combination! How about selling a good quality calender with one or two of your awesome tractors for each month? Might be (almost) better than the bikini girl calender...
Peterbilt Steve hahahahahaha. Im a huge fan of your builds. If i was ever in the market for a sleeper i would def go to you. Currently running Macks a dump truck and a day cab with a flat. Happy Holidays
I love the old school 2 tones that you're doing on these flat top's Steve they really look incredible
Im super happy with this one

I like your philosophy peterbilt Steve, no compromises! This truck has a nice flair of the old school
With a DEF tank hanging on the side, I don't think so.
Allan McCullough yeah the emissions shit isn’t cool, but the rest of the truck is pretty dope. I mean you could roll a Columbia or something instead
Thanks buddy
I love the new intro. The paint on this truck nails it!
Thanks, paint is flakey!
Steve you definitely spec out the nicest 389 Pete's I've ever seen in the lower 48. Love your Pete's and your vids!! Keep up the great work!!👍👍
Thank you sir, I really appreciate it!
Steve that Rig is awesome and that color combo is really cool
Super happy with this combo
Bling if the driver is an Oakland raiders fan.
I agree with you on the michelins too always keep them at least on the steers

Yeah man
I'm looking at half a mil on this chassis
Still got 50% on the pads
No grooves on the discs
I'm likin' that man
