Damn Guys! Thanks for all the support and comments on this video, I've been reading some interesting discussions in the comments. I ranked all the "Wii Series" games if you want to hear my opinion of each game. Link: ua-cam.com/video/Ap5NgOWk0Ho/v-deo.html
I think they’re suffering from same face syndrome because of the lack of customization options. Miitopia was a huge hit partially because of the various options that they could decorate their miis with. You could add wigs, face stickers for more detail, and it still has the same, simple mii style yet were so diverse. Heck, you could make spongebob if you wanted lmao- edit: sheesh 8k likes?
Part of the fun of the original Mii characters was that customization was far from restrictive. If you were bored and then decided to get creative with options, you could make a cyclops or rat-faced guy.
Personally I don’t dislike the designs, but I definitely agree there’s something “off” about them, not to mention the original miis have that nostalgia factor
I think it has something to do with the uncanny valley effect. The original Miis look so simple that we recognize their human traits as positiv. The new Miis look more human, so much that we recognize more little details, that are not quiet right, as negativ.
I don't hate them, they are a little strange though from knowing the original miis all my life but people fail to realize that the new generation has no nostalgia for the original miis. The newer generations seem to love the new miis for the most part.
I don't understand why companies always try to fix something that isn't broken. People liked the original Miis AFAIK, they didn't have to redesign them in the first place.
I think they kind of have a "corporate art style" vibe to me, the Mii's were so simple yet carried so much charm, what with the bowling pin-type body and no arms. And the faces could be customized to no end
in the future, people who grew up with the Switch Sports avatars will be talking about how Switch Sports avatars are better than whatever avatars [Future Console] Sports is going to have
@Cloud strife's son there's also a thing called selective memory where we only remember the good things of something and pretend the bad things didn't happen.
@Cloud strife's son another thing is comparative nostalgia where the next entry does some things worse so we look back at the previous one fondly by saying: "At least [Last entry] had [features the later entries removed]" or "At least [Last entry] didn't have [issues the later entries have]"
What annoys me about this most is that Nintendo already has a PERFECT model for the mii's, that being their smash bro's ultimate appearance. Perfectly detailed and "next gen", with a set of matching arms and legs, all without straying from the classic mii look which we have all grown to love. The secret sauce? It's not overly detailed, with masterful proprtions. When there is detail (in the costumes) it is matchingly cartoonist.
Perhaps they thought the Miis made them lose popularity and profit on the Wii U, because it was all about that. Actually, I had a Wii U and played with it a lot in my childhood. It was really fun, and Splatoon starting on it really tested the motion control ideas. I think this is just the problem of trying to be original (like Wii U complainers wanted) but also a better gameplay. If we think about it, people didn't like the Wii U because it was "A poor excuse of a Wii system" maybe this is their way of trying to bring originality instead of Mii-focused. Maybe they wanted to update the sprites because Mii was getting tiring and outdated designs. And we are just seeing a Demo, they might add more expressions and animations... But it's more like Ninjala.
Definitely! They already had a second gen! They coulda used those models. I suppose they were trying so min new, but now they now what the public thinks... back to the drawing board for them
I think the new characters are kinda cute, but in a very 'corporate' kind of way, whereas the Miis were SO WEIRD LOOKING when they first released that you couldn't help but love them. Even as Miis got more complicated, they still stuck to the flat and simplified design that lets you project personality and feeling onto them. The new characters are just kinda... staring into the middle distance... soullessly...
To me the new characters look cute, but it gives me like a video game cover design for a 2 bit game. Or like background kid designs for a children's cereal. I don't know if that makes sense
The Miis and I have always had a sort of love/hate relationship. I could never find hairstyles I liked and they were so... Blocky? I don't know if that's the word I'm looking for, lol. These new ones loom alright but the proportions kind of give them a "mascot head" vibe.
I don't hate them, they are a little strange though from knowing the original miis all my life but people fail to realize that the new generation has no nostalgia for the original miis. The newer generations seem to love the new miis for the most part.
exactly how i felt with animal crossing. and also the new simpsons episodes lol. the old ones were weirder and had more heart put into them... now they just aim to copy that old thing which can never be done. and they need to appeal to a much more global audience now, having so many things based on obscure Japanese mythology doesnt make as much sense
I think it's because there isnt as much customization and they all look kind of "perfect". The cool thing about the old miis was that they didnt have to be beautiful.
I feel like they should add the miitopia customization options. There are the basic mii faces in there but you can change the faces a lot more if you want to be advanced. It takes more time to customize yes, but you can always use the regular mii options.
@@moonixel apparently pringles thought mr p look a outdated and the wanted him to look more simple and eye catching well it is eye catching at how ugly it is compared to the old one
The main problem is simple: Lack of Creative freedom. Mii are free range, you can make whatever with the tools you're given and there's whole series about making Miis because of this freedom, like Failboat does. This new sportmates, likely won't let you move or change the size of features, so you're locked to just choosing what you like, and that's it. Compared to Miis, this is a downgrade in character creation. Lastly, I think Miis are an icon of the Wii Sports series. Yeah, it's just another avatar creator, but it's so different to the customization of other games, that it's just uncanny to replace them. Switch Sports honestly looks more like a Gameloft or mobile game than a Nintendo property because of it.
Am I the only person who just, doesn't care. And just is glad Sports is back? Idk how y'all complain about Miis changing when we could be on the brink of war
@@the_honored_one_06 _WEll guuud for youuuu!~~_ for me and a lot of people, nitpicking, analyzing designs, discussing what could be improved or changed, (knowing that it most likely will not change) is just fun. that's all, just a bit of fun banter and also a nice distraction as well. (from the irl stuff)
@@the_honored_one_06 wow! good for you! It's so great that you don't care and felt the need to tell others that you don't care, contributing nothing to the conversation!
For me , the 'new mii' look just too.. perfect. Idk in the old one, peoples had defaults, obvious face traits, it looked funny and we had more possibilities. The new mii's gives less possibility and they looks less like us. It's sad :C
The best thing about Miis is that they can be made to represent all kinds of different people. Meanwhile, the Sportsmates are so uniform and conventional that they all pretty much look the same, and they hardly feel like avatars
Another problem is that the sportamates all look like children to their eyes to the bodies, with the miis you can give them any kind of head shape give them wrinkles and make them taller/wider
As with many things. It comes down simply to "Personality" and "Soul" The new characters have little to none of either. The miis may have been simpler. But in practice they had way more personality to them
I still have fun creating new Miis on my 3Ds Mii channel. I don't know why Nintendo would change the design. I like the old ones better than the new ones because the new ones look like little kids and i don't like that. 😕 So the old ones are better in my opinion. 😐
Same. My little sister and I spent hours doing that and it's crazy to play and scroll through the miis and be like "oh there's this character from random TV show and here is another one from another show and so on as we would try to find our own.
Nintendo’s target demographic is kids, so no one cares if you’re 30 something and don’t like the new miis cause “nostalgia “ most kids actually like the new miis
Speaking of their designs, i’m actually curious on how new miis are going to be played out in new 3rd party games. Classic miis are extremely simple and customizable, letting you to slap their faces on pretty much any model and call it a day, and it actually worked. The new ones on the other hand… Yeah, good luck with that
The chibi heads scream "KAWAII" while the hairstyles and body proportions feel like an attempt to be relatable and trendy. Also, some parts of these designs clash because they don't all have the same level of detail, for example the hair and clothes vs the eye shape and mouth. (Why does the pink haired one have such detailed hair? Why do the eyes have such elaborate coloring and lightning when the face is so simplistic?) It's like they're trying to do what everybody else is doing which is to make generic cute characters but also trying to make them more realistic so they're more relatable/mature? This has been said a lot already but the baby face on the adult body is too uncanny. Meanwhile the original Miis were just weird, goofy and funny, they weren't some attempt to be hip and trendy, they were something naturally quirky, unexpected and new at that time, and people just happened to find them appealing in so many different ways despite their weirdness and how simple their design was.
For those of you that didn’t know, every breath of the wild NPC human was made with an advanced version of the classic mii maker. They really should have just used that for this game.
I don't hate them, they are a little strange though from knowing the original miis all my life but people fail to realize that the new generation has no nostalgia for the original miis. The newer generations seem to love the new miis for the most part.
11:08 To be honest I feel like the palette-swap clothing options were made as placeholders to fill the item palette with stuff just as a mockup for the trailer. The trailer has to be made a lot earlier than the latest build for the release date, so customization content was probably delayed for when the rest is complete.
My issue with these “new miis” are the same issues I have with the new monster high dolls. The original miis had the perfect design which accommodated maximum customization, but a mii meant to replicate a real person vs. a mii meant to replicate a fictional persona wouldn’t look funky next to each other. The most customization the new miis have would be the hair style, clothes, and colors. The design needs to contort into a specific mold to look cohesive. Think vrchat in the same sense. Completely different avatars, but they still look cohesive. The new miis can’t accommodate this.
It even has similar reasoning. Monster high dolls were changed to make them “less scary” and appeal more to younger kids. I have a feeling Nintendo did this change for a similar reason, probably to attract parents and kids.
I don't hate them, they are a little strange though from knowing the original miis all my life but people fail to realize that the new generation has no nostalgia for the original miis. The newer generations seem to love the new miis for the most part.
@rain you are saying this on every comment except that's literally not the point. We're talking about cohesion not nostalgia. Fuck off with your copy paste nonesense
@@deadchanneldontreplymartyt1137 I’m pretty sure the collector dolls also have the same face molds, but I was thinking of the reboot dolls when writing the original comment.
The thing that bugged me about the new miis is the fact that they're too... perfect. I think miis have charm in their imperfections, and they're unique, you know? And the new miis are all the same body type in a game about fitness. It just.... it bugs me. The old miis can change their height and weight, and even though it's simple, they feel more unique and inclusive to each individual person. Miis are... well, me. That's their charm. They represent individual and unique people and are playable characters people feel comfortable being represented by. The new ones are just... slight variations of the same base model. There's no individuality there. I definitely don't feel represented with the new miis, and the imperfections that made miis unique are just... gone
fr like i dont want my mii to look like a generic anime girl with my hair color, i want my mii to look specifically like me, including unique individual features that i may not like/that may not be conventionally attractive
I don't have an issue with the design, but i do agree more emotion conveyed in the face would be a huge upgrade. Also yes old mii's are so nostalgic its hard to let go of them
I think the biggest problem with the whole "New Miis" thing is that everyone's treating them as Mii replacements instead of playermodels for one singular video game
I think that's because Wii Sports is the Miis staple game, so ofc people are going to see it as Nintendo trying to "upgrade" the Miis designs in a way people aren't really down for
@@emberhermin52 Uhh no? it's just people being irrationally angry, it's the opposite effect of people wanting Miitopia Switch customization in future mii games which is unique to Miitopia as the Playmates are unique to Switch Sports.
The old Mii's didn't look as good but it allowed for you to project whatever craziness you wanted to on the Mii. They just look too good, and it ruins the messy creativeness of the old Miis that made them so beloved.
My problem is that they tried to fix something that wasn't broken. Miis aren't as possible as they were back in 2009, but they're still fun to use in games like this. I feel the same way about the sports. Most of the ones from the first two games were already great, so why do new ones? Especially ones like volleyball and badminton? Even soccer feels like an odd pick. They honestly should've just done a remake hybrid of Wii Sports and Resort with all the original sports and modes and that would've been WAY better!
you didnt touch on one thing that i noticed immediately- all the "new mii's " are the same height and weight. that was another big thing that separated miis from each other. of course, i always made my miis the shortest possible- but it still differentiated my miis from others miis.
Not to mention the circular hands. It was such characteristics like these that gave the miis character such as these circular hands, floating above the ground, heck sometimes your arms would be invisible and you’d have floating hands! But these new miis are too realistic compared to the old ones in my opinion. The definition of “Look how they massacred my boy”
I think the biggest issue is you don't "update/Replace" something that is still popular. People still really like the Mii's so replacing them makes no sense no matter what you replace them with. For an example I think that is part of what killed Milo Murphy's law aswell, fans were still very into Phineas and Ferb and didn't want to see it be replaced by something else, so milo murphy's law was pretty much dead on arrival because there was this idea that it killed Phineas and Ferb. (which I am not going to say that was a bad idea it was what the creators wanted to do. They were pretty much all out of ideas for Phineas and Ferb, but the fans didn't want something else and they are the one who ultimately decide what gets watched.)
I do like that you can make them look cute and pretty now but they are just wayyy to similar. I think a mixture of the old style and customization plus some more modern features and graphics would have been the best to go for. Keep it similar and just try to fit it to the current time and technology with a few changes
My problem is don’t fix what isn’t broken. People love miis, loved the Mii customisation in miitopia. Just add that. Add more colours and shapes for the body/clothing (actually I think that’s a thing in tomodachi life).
Exactly. My other problem is how generic they are. I mainly game on pc ,but I own a switch because the switch has experiences that are distinctly Nintendo. I'm saying this because the miis made wii sports and every other game that used them feel distinctly Nintendo. These new ones look like they could be any system ,be that xbox playstation etc. Idk just a bit Mind boggling. Like you said why fix what isn't broken?
@@Magaflamewolf again when Microsoft updated their avatars people didn't give a shit the 360 avatars looked dated anyway I really don't get it what is it with you fanboys complaining about stuff
@@kingemerald4622 exactly what the person below said. Xbox never used their avatars for anything, not to mention they never had the style of miis. They were just another fairly generic 3d model, that most people probably probably didn't care about since half the costomization came from buying cosmetics. Also please dont assume an individual is a fanboy. I mainly play on pc, and honestly probably wont even buy switch sports. I was just sharing my opinion. Thank you for your opinion though😁
I just think the “New Mii’s” have a VERY different style from the Old Mii’s. The Old Mii’s had exaggerated noses (and ESPECIALLY the noses), eyes, and facial features to me (as a kid cuz I started first playing when I was like 8) but it was also easy to recognize. Like if you showed me a Mii face and just that face only (like no hair, no jaw, just the face up close), then I would be able to say “Oh that’s a Mii face!” or something like that. Whereas the “New Mii’s” had this soulless face on them. And the style compared from the New to the Old is just so EXAGGERATEDLY DIFFERENT I couldn’t even tell if the “New Mii’s” where even Mii’s anymore. They didn’t even look like they had ANY personality in them. Like The Henry Stickman Game had more personality in them then the these *things*- (my opinion) The “New Mii’s” are kinda cute, but super different from the Old Mii’s.
Another isue is that those avatars can only represent children, while the Miis could be middle-aged, old, etc... Also, wasn't that what made the Wii and the Wii-Sports so sucessefull? Fun for everyone?
@@ParryableFlame But, they lack the various eye and nose options that the Miis have. The Sportsmates have less customization options that aren't as diverse as what the Mii Maker has. I know that the Sportsmates have different eye options, but they still look samey to me. And I know wrinkles and stuff are optional for the Sportsmates, but it looks better with the Miis customization options.
I saw a complaint once that I agree with. The lack of the customization and the “trendy” hair options make them all look too young. Even the gray haired guy just looks like a guy in his thirties. I think a lot of the mii’s appeal was that they could resemble anyone of any age. These guys all look like they’re between twelve and forty.
The old miis were dopey and funny and that’s why I loved them. I loved being able to make burger people and stupid proportions. I feel like there’s less of a charm with the new miis. The old ones looked unique. The new ones look like any other character
The Miis have a very unique appearance by default, their faces have some degree of freedom and a decent amount of options that can lead to many funny results, and Miitopia’s creator heavily improved on that While the Sports mates, the base itself looks kind of generic, but still okay, though the lacking customization makes them look more like alternate colors and outfits of a single character, rather than different avatars like the Miis, there’s not much fun allowed here
One thing I think they really could've done is go for a similar approach to what Splatoon did in the customization department. Splatoon is quite similar to where you can really only change a couple of things with your character, but what made everybody unique was the insane amount of customization from hats, shirts and shoes. Just three clothing items was all that was needed to make everyone look and feel unique.
Actually, the Miis we know are in the game, Nintendo simply doesn't want to bother showing them off in the trailer. NintendoLife actually showed off a picture of the Miis in Nintendo Switch Sports compared to the Ninjala knock offs that are in the game!
@@ChaseMC215 peoples point is moreso that they're merely an option, that the Ninjala knockoffs are a) the primary focus in marketing and b) likely the only option for every NPC, unlike various older Mii games that filled generics with other miis you made on the console like Party or Sports
The best part of the old miis were the fact that they looked different, derpy, and relateable! They were not trying to be cool! They wanted to represent you in a derpy way that gave you the feeling of expressing yourself! I feel like that is how anyone should make a multigame character creator!
For “new miis,” couldnt we have just gotten the regular ones with the miitopia customization options? Like damn, I really want the miitopia customization to be implemented into everything with miis, it really took making miis to a whole new level.
I don’t know why I don’t like that design, I just love the older one! There’s a lot of customization and they all look different! But this new one seems limited.
I never really noticed but yea I agree the bodies are more "realistic" than they should be & when u compared the new Miis to Animal Crossing it made so much sense.
The issue I have with the new Mii's is their lack of charm. The old Mii's captured me as soon as I saw them. With their wacky faces that often didn't make sense, the blocky bodies, there is something about them that charmed me as soon as I saw them. Their bodies allowed them to have a sort of stubby movement, where they waddled instead of fully walking. I wouldn't mind an updated Mii editor, but this is style is the kind that makes Nintendo feel more like a cold corporation than a charming game maker. And the funny thing is, THEY HAD AN UPDATED MII EDITOR THAT THEY ALREADY KNEW THE FANS LOVED. The editor in Miitopia had tons of new options, and fans had tons of fun. Why not improve that, or even just re-use it? I've seen games that have been able to re-use assets from previous games and still not make it look stale. I just wanted to say, that if tomodachi life ever gets a switch port, I want the old Mii's, and the comforting charm that came with it. Edit: i think that I noticed another thing that makes these new Mii's uncanny compared to the original. From what is shown here, you can't change their head shape or move/resize their facial features. That's why they don't look as unique.
I remember being 11 with my friends and laughing our asses off creating absurd miis, that was the appeal, and on top of that my/our generation grew up and we STILL find mii’s funny and charming. These new ones aren’t something that kids are gonna grow up with and think back on nostalgically in the same way as miis
If they keep making improvements later on, I think they can easily turn this hated concept into a loved one. Just like old Miis, there were more features in later systems after the Wii, and the Switch hit the peak. My only defense for now is that Nintendo isn't alone. Let's not forget the Xbox avatars.
The things that made miis soooo iconic was because you could literally make anyone/anything out of them. (I use to just sit down and create miis for fun instead of play games sometimes.) This cute style is just toooo corporate and lifeless…
@@matthewd3175 The video literally goes over how there's barely any customization options, are you blind? And have you ever seen a Mii editor? No nostalgia can be speaking through me btw because I've bought a Switch a month ago and it's my first ever Nintendo product, so I'm looking at all this stuff with a fresh perspective
I think the main problem with the “new miis” are just... too cute The old ones were better bc you could make them look like anything, here, they'll just always be... cute
They just need to be more expressive and have a lot more customization options. But... that's not going to happen. The old Mii's were designed to be used system-wide. These ones are designed for use in a single game.
Honestly I personally think the biggest reason people hate the new replacements for the mii’s is because we’re so attached to mii’s already, I think Nintendo would be way more successful with this new game if they just use mii’s for it, and if they want to switch it up they could do something like they did with Miitopia and add new customization options.
Fr other than the nostalgia effect being taken away I don't see why people are hating on it so much, change has to happen sometime soon it can't always be the way you want it 🤷
@MoxxlDearest All of the Wii Sports games are just sports sims, the draw of them is the Miis. If you take the Miis out if these games, you take out their main draw. You can buy literally any of these sports as countless other sims if the Miis aren't your thing, in varying levels of difficulty too. If you make a Wii Sports continuation for the switch, but take out the Miis, it's just another regular sports sim which no one who really like Wii Sports wants. Miis have been integral to the Nintendo sports series of games forever and to remove them just makes the game more generic and less approachable to long standing customers (most likely in favor of trying to get new customers and stockholders but these designs still have problems outside of just not being miis)
@@moxxidearest4823 I was replying to what you said. "Other than nostalgia I don't see why people are hating on it so much". I replied with one reason I thought why. That's how UA-cam comments work, right?
I like that Nintendo is trying to spruce things up a bit and give things a fresh look, but some things like the mii characters are originals that you can't beat. 😔
Honestly I disagree, as much as I love the customization I've never been the biggest fan of the artstyle. It's all down to personal preference. If the new miis end up getting much more customization then I'll definitely like them much more. I love the new style, I think it's really cute and has the potential to be super lively and diverse.
I feel like the most important thing to factor is that these are BRAND NEW (as far as I'm concerned). They can add height, more hair styles, eye shapes, noses, mouths and custom colours. Throw in custom limbs and hats aswell and you might have a decently good customizer. I'm sure it shouldn't be too difficult as Roblox has already done that with its Avatar Editor and advanced games such as World Zero. No doubt, THAT would take at the very least a year, but if we just add more outfits and facial stuff, the Miis could be a lot better in the eyes of the New Mii haters If you can customize it enough, you should be able to match your preferences no matter who you are. I believe you just gotta give it time.
My main problem with the new miis is how childish they look. The usual Miis were great because they didn't really look like any specific age, unless there were wrinkles added. When I see wrinkles or a beard on these new guys it looks even weirder. The miis are supposed to be universal and good for everyone but these just cater to children.
To me, they look like most Teenaged Anime Characters (Sailor Moon, Legoshi, Hinata, Ash) Which doesn’t really fit well when the Miis are supposed to fit a wider demographic
i think the main issue is the miis lack individuality. i know the new miis look similar for the consistency and cleanliness of it, but the older ones have a handmade- very recognize and unique face. cause they were. you could have two very different miis and recognize they were still from the same media.
My personal reason is that the miis had some “lore” on them. Even if they acted similar they all were different, they had certain miis they would go with, some miis could even be enemies, and a few had a little backstory, like: -Matt defeating other Mii on boxing long ago. -Yoshi being the original champion of ping pong and Lucia’s master and getting overthrown by her pupil. The Wuhu island also was an amazing location that really felt like a paradise of pixels, and the new avatars just have mainstream courts or stages to perform their sport. I’m sad all of the Mii characters (CPU) are gone and we won’t even see them in this new sports game, I would have really loved to know more about them.
Thats a good point. Like if you had a certain one on your baseball team in wii sports, you either knew it would be good, or you knew it would be bad lol (Ashley talking about you) XD
I can understand everyone's reasoning for not necessarily liking these new characters because the Mii characters were simplistic but very customizable. However I think a certain factor also plays a part for the disdain of the new characters are people dont care for the change. It's obvious that there are many valid issues as to why people don't like these new character compared to the classic miis, but this is a new system and it's not bad to have a fresh take since this is a new Nintendo sports game new implementations are bound to be added. Now I know a lot of comments are going to come after me and say "oh but the miis are fine don't fix something that ain't broken" or "it's not about that it's about their overall designs" I've never dismiss that those are very understandable. I'm just saying that because people have such fond memories the finesse of Nostalgia trips with the miis in Wii Resort and Wii Sports and making funny customizable Miis that it's harder for them to try and be okay with the introduction of something new especially with the Classic Miis. And who knows this is the only trailer of the new Wii sports game that we have until the official release we could be very surprised at the game's launch day with the amount of customisation options and such we just have to be patient and see. So again I myself like the Miis and I can understand the uninterest for the new Sports characters I think it's best to wait and see because we may be pleasantly surprised.
The Wii Sports games are LITERALLY the Mii's games. Yes, they've appeared in a lot of titles since, but those are their ORIGINS. It's like if a Mario game suddenly said, here's this guy named Vinny and he's the new mascot of this game.
Thinking about it, I might be cool with it if they took Miis and gave them an "HD" remake that leant in the direction if the new avatars; i fact, that might even be nice. But to completely sideline the miis? To shove them to the side in the game they once starred in? Yeah, I'm not happy with that. And yes, you are right that nostalgia plays a role. I do think I'll probably end up getting the game, and I may get used to the new avatars. But I'm just sad Nintendo is doing our poor Miis dirty like this.
I'm assuming that the new design was an attempt to create more realistic characters especially in the hands and feet. The thing is, there are a handful of games that pull this off great with the OG Mii style. Take MK8 or Wii Party U.
They’re like the Avatars in Namco’s Go Vacation. But they’re more offensive to fans. Although, I wouldn’t call these New Miis ugly. They just look…. Solid. But not as charming. ….You can’t deny they’re not the worst avatars you’ve ever seen, I know calling them ugly is just being petty.
I don't see the problem with these new mii's. while they look a little bit more realistic in the body the face is kept cute because Nintendo. It's not much of a bad style and of course, they don't have much of an expression but isn't this the first time they introduced them? That can get fixed as it is most likely still getting worked on. Or maybe I can just appreciate it because I can understand the fact that there really is no problem and people are just hating it because twitter people.
Honestly Don't think it's just the Twitter people There isn't many games the utilize the Older Mii's along with the fact that the Older Mii's customization is Much better in terms of restrictions
I really hope the Switch eventually will allow us to create mii's with more customization options. The way these guys all blend together, on top of not being that appealing is a huge issue for me. I miss the simple cute/derpy mii's man
My one issue is that a lot of their customization I've seen so far seems to just be upscaled from Animal Crossing New Horizons ( you can especially see this at 0:22 ). I like them, but not as Miis - maybe they could use a different name, and be a seperate entity from Mii's? Yuu's maybe?
@@trofii. the whole "new mii's" argument stems from the fact that Nintendo switch sports is basically a revamp of wii sports, which had the mii's. they feel... replaced. it's like replacing the mii's in miitopia with these bad boys
@@femkestraub11 They're still marketed with the new ones. I'm personally not too bothered by this since Mii's are still usable, but this is what I'd imagine the issue is.
honestly I like the new designs, I can obvious see the points and I do agree with some like the faces being basically blank and the same, and limited customization options, but honestly for the most part to me it just looks like some sort of anime style characters that don't honestly look too bad, I also like your design but personally if I were to have to pick, I'd pick the new mii's with maybe a few changes like extra customization options and eye shapes, other than that I have basically no problem with these designs, but once again your design concept looks good too!
The main problem with them to me is that they are just too samey and generic. They all just look the same and all look like something that would’ve came out of the xbox avatar creator or Oculus avatar creator. The older miis were more simple, but I think that was their strongsuit because it gave them more variety in facial features.
Honestly what bugs me the most about the "New Miis" is that Nintendo had a perfect opportunity to bring the "Old" Miis back. There barely are any games with Miis on the switch, and switch sports would’ve been just be, like, nice to have Miis. I mean, why has the switch a Mii option if they’re almost never used..
I feel like they were trying to do something VERY similar to Ninjala's art style- The problem is 1) Ninjala's characters were designed around this more 2) Ninjala doesn't always look that good either tbh The Miis were so filled with personality with simplicity. I think the thick black outlines on there features is so Nintendo.... The new designs feel so.... Small developer that Microsoft bought the other day And yeah, I hate all of there hairstyles expect maybe the girl with bangs.... You definitely improved them a lot (I liked your thick black nose outline though, made them look a hell of a lot more interesting) but I think I'd still want to keep the miis over these things- As I have called them since the reveal; The Ugliis
Another big thing about the new miis is that they have an age range! The old ones were so abstract that you couldn't really tell an adult mii from a kid unless you add bags and make them taller or make them tiny and cute. It was very open to interpretation, yet these feel like athletic young adults and sometimes they have wrinkles?? it's like a college kid with an old lady face on them. The lack of body shapes, heights, nose, eye, and other customizations also don't really help. Miis were easy to make, they didn't have to look exactly like you, but a caricature, and anyone could make one and feel included. These don't include as many people! Plus the old ones didn't really have a gender. it was either you had a dress or pants. All eye shapes, colors, etc were available regardless of gender!
The miis are so simple and effective at creating ACTUAL similarities with seemingly few characteristics to customize (hair, eyes, nose, mouth) The chibi, 3d anime trying too hard to be realistic but crealry not at all is just uncanny AF and lack creating that connection of 'look is me in a game' to a 'this is the best I can do with it, it looks nothing like me, they all have the same face...at least the hair is somewhat like mine'
I think one issue with this "new Miis" is there don't seem to be as customizable as Miis of past consoles. With Miis you could make a character that can look from a 5 year to an elderly person, but this ones seems to be always look like preteens not matter what. And doesn't seem to have many options to change facial features, if you look closely there all have the same nose, which among other things makes them look more like wooden dolls rather than caricatures of real people.
I knew from the second I saw these "Neo Mii's" something was off. Luckily when I saw the OG Mii's I calmed down a little. But this definitely needs to be addressed.
I like how the old Miis were just derpy and were able to look dumb and funny, the new ones just look too perfect and unrelatable. Something definitely does look off.
It's not just the range of customization that is the issue. There's also the fact that there's little to no personality imbued in these character designs. What made Miis so memorable was how imperfect they were; that alone gave them much more character than these pristine, corporate-made, cardboard cut-outs Nintendo decided to shell out.
I think I like the old mii's simple design because of the abominations we could create. On top of that, I think the basic shapes of the old ones add to the charm because they kinda look like cute little toy people.
The problem is the old miis don't let you make anything other than abominations unless you go super generic with it but even the generic characters are hideous.
@@D_YellowMadness that isn’t necessarily true, my mii looks a lot like me. I don’t think these new miis or sports mates would have that level of customization
the real problem is we all got blueballs after see what could have been with miitopia, the changes they made in miitopia with miis was crazy fun while still keeping the iconic mii look
They honestly should've learned from Miitopia and if we're going further, tomodachi life. Really good games fully based on miis. Wii sports was the best. Those 3 games all did well when sold and I owned all 3.
This video is amazing! You explained very clearly, and finally got me to truly understand the hate they get, something no other 'tubers have managed to do. I love how you actually made the changes in photoshop as well!👍
My problem is that Nintendo is essentially tarnishing a decade and a half of people growing up with Mii characters in their games by introducing these nightmares before having completely phased out Mii support in their software. The Wii was many people's first impression of video games, and you would be hard pressed to find a Nintendo published game for the Wii that didn't include Miis. After that, Miis were also present in certain games on the DS and DSi, the 3DS, the Wii U, and are still accessible on the Nintendo Switch.
There is no evidence of them "phasing out mii support" when they are still supporting miis to this day. If they wanted to "completley phase out miis", then why did they make playing as a mii *mandatory* in mario golf story mode, why did just announce that miis are coming to mario kart tour a couple dayse ago? Why would they re release miitopia? The answer to these questions is simple, Miis are not being removed or replaced. All that happened was the team for this specific game chose not to focus as much on them. (Note that i said "as much", because the miis *are* still in this game, which is also another piece of evidence against the dumb theory that "nintendo is trying to get rid of miis")
@@Treesarewoke I didn't say Nintendo was phasing out Mii support, I was trying to say that if Nintendo wants to introduce a different style of personalized character for their games, they should phase out Miis, otherwise you have two different styles of customizable character clashing with one another, furthermore, phasing out Miis would be a dumb move on Nintendo anyway since Miis helped everyone who was introduced to video games through the Wii feel more connected to the game in a charming way that didn't take itself too seriously and was somewhat optional depending on how you view Player Miis and certain games.
@@Treesarewoke fair point, but Animal Crossing predates Miis, while the sports series of games was literally the first to showcase Miis with Wii Sports. Animal Crossing also only uses one type of custom character, Nintendo Switch Sports features both. Animal Crossing player characters also don't take themselves too seriously, opting for just the right amount of cartoonish design, making them feel similar to Miis, the new characters in Nintendo Switch Sports take themselves way too seriously in terms of design, so it's almost like having poorly proportioned Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess characters filling up more than half of the playable roster of New Super Mario Bros. Wii, and the rest of the playable characters are from the Mario and Kirby series' games. It's a Mario game, but they include and emphasize The Legend of Zelda to such an extent that it isn't fair to compare it to earlier games in the series since it's more appropriate to call it a Legend of Zelda platformer game. Calling Nintendo Switch Sports a sequel in the Wii Sports franchise is not all that different, however, these are just new characters that take themselves more seriously than they have any need or right to considering the game they are in. Furthermore, I have said these characters take themselves too seriously, and another problem is they also don't take themselves seriously enough, they refuse to sit comfortably in the cartoonish or realistic styles, falling into an uncanny valley of almost cartoonish enough to be Miis and almost realistic enough to be actual humans.
I personally think they look adorable, but I find a lot of your criticism to be extremely well-founded, specially in regards to customization. Nintendo has always been about putting gameplay over everything else, often going as far to build their stories, visuals and music over one core mechanic, so to see them put form over function like this is just so baffling, and so un-Nintendo... I don't know. Game Maker's Toolkit has a great video about this concept. It was titled something along the lines of "Nintendo and the power of play".
Me too, they’re adorable cute and quite on par for the style that a lot of video games are taking, if they weren’t serving as an “upgrade” for the miis specifically, it would be fine. I think the issue is that everyone already loves the current miis, so seeing the exact opposite of everything players love brings about disgust. I feel that if they weren’t serving as a replacement for the miis in this release people wouldn’t mind as much
I find the Miis in the Wii and Wii U era (tired of Wii U not getting it's due credit btw, itt was flawed but not without positives) to be endearing because they usually had some imperfection. They were more relatable and endearing because of them. This looks like a mobile game character, not a Mii.
I'm also scared that Nintendo will start phasing out the Miis😭 I truly think their designs are timeless and an integral part of Nintendo's identity❤️🙏🏻
The problem I have is that, unlike the wii miis, they all look "pretty" so it's hard to make it look like you. And this is a problem I have with most games with customizablee character, and it's why I love the Miis so much, as you can make them look anyway you want.
Commenting what's already been said, but the problem with the new characters is that despite being so much more high quality and technically speaking, better designed, they look incredibly generic. You could tell me these were the avatar characters for the Xbox and I'd believe you. This is also Nintendo's "fix" to a formula that, while outdated, isn't broken. People love the simplicity of the Miis and what really should be done with them is further expansion on the creator. We got detailed faces with the Miitopia remake, why not expand upon the clothing aspect? This way people can still make their own Miis while also going beyond what was possible for the past few generations.
Yeah, exactly! They just look like your average avatar character, and unlike the old Miis, they just lack being instantly recognisable or charming. In my opinion, anyways.
From my perspective the reason I hate the Switch Sports avatars is just because they look BAD, I do not believe they are well-designed. It's like they took the Splatoon Inking and AC Villager and tried to make a best of both worlds, without taking into consideration what makes either design inviting.
I don't like them because of their lack of style. The classic mii has such an instantly recognizable style to it. You see a mii, or even just the face of one, and you immediately know that it's a mii because of its distinct look. Also, it's nearly impossible to make a convincing older person with these new miis.
They don't look super bad, if anything they're quite pretty. Though, it's a misinterpretation of what people want when they say they want the Wii series back. There will always backlash if they didn't use the Miis.
Exactly when I first heard that there was a big backlash against these character design I was like first, people don't like change. and to they probably look to anime which they kind of do. But looking at the more there's also the problem that they kind of look too young-looking do their proportions they look like tweens with the old miis you could have old people or ugly people and these just look like pretty tweens form a sports anime
You know I wish the miis were more revenant in Nintendo Switch Sports (or at least see more gameplay to see miis were playable) If mii are conformed, I really wanted the Miitopia customization options again, that was one of Nintendo’s best ideas I seen in a while!
I still remember when I reacted to this. I was constantly whispering to myself: „Where are the Miiii‘s?? Where are the Miiiii‘s???!“ I was so glad that they showed that you can still use them. A Mii is so iconic and recognizable and the new ones look like they belonged in some animated webseries. I also don’t think that you can costumize them like the original Mii‘s. You could create cool stuff. For example I often saw Mii‘s in Mk8D with random Mario characters on them like a shy guy for example. And I think (if you can even costumize them like that) it would look weird on the new ones.
In my opinion they aren't bad designs they're super adorable but I wouldn't really call them Miis. I don't know how to explain it but a Mii's design was basic and simple but you could spend hours and hours making as many as you want. If anything they should've left it how it was and maybe added a few new hairstyles, colours maybe add accessories but still kept it to a similar design
For me, the new miis have that same uncanny valley feel as newer gen pokemon characters. It was really noticeable in Sun and Moon and Sword and Shield.
Yes I agree they really like personality. From red to Kalem/Serena, they all looked like protagonists, with a cool recognizable design. But in sun and moon onward, they all look super generic, their only emotion is this terrible psycho smile.
I 100% would have bought this game if they had included the makeup feature from Miitopia. I’ve spent HOURS making Miis in that game because there’s so much you can do with the tools they give you. Whereas you can make a Mii look like yourself, or Peter Griffin, or a hamburger, there’s… not much you can do here. They’re stuck looking like normal humans. That’s my main issue with these Metaverse-lookin’ suckers. Redesign’s far better, especially with the focus on distinctive shapes. I also like their bowling ball egg. Good stuff.
I think the difference is that miis were invented as this new gimmick for you to try and create yourself or other people with a series of basic presets you could customize to a staggering degree, while these new things feel like the corporate amalgamate of Nintendo character creation of Pokémon animal crossing, and splatoon that are trying to copy the success of the original mii with none of the depth or quirkiness to it
My first thought was immediately "is that ninjala?" And, they already have the classic Miis in smash bros. That would mean there would be some inconsistencies to what we have in the game, and the switch profile pictures themselves, too.
The new mii designs really just looks like the avatars in go vacation, as well as the backgrounds. It feels like a more boring go vacation, since all you can do is do sports and not run around haha
For me, the most frustrating thing about this is that Miis have received new customization options (mostly new colors), but it is not possible to play with them in most of the games. Invites to create, but where to use them next? Well, Mii creation is hidden in the settings after all... For me, the existence of Mii maker and lack of utilization of Miis frustrate people (after all, I wouldn't think this outrage would be so big if Mii Maker wasn't on Switch). Plus as people have told, Miis are a big part of Wii Sports. Just my two cents...
To quote Marge, "I just think they're neat." The only gripe I have, and it's a minor one, is the seeming lack of facial customization (as in the similar eye and nose styles). Everything else is fine imo. The faces themselves actually are kinda expressive for certain situations, so that's nice
Definitely agreed on this, if they added some more customization I wouldn't really care. Honestly I kind of like them more lol, I know people like the quirkiness of the miis but these new ones just fit the switch better
as long as were able to choose whether to play as a new mii or an old mii (and it looks like we might be able to judging from the trailer?) ill be happy. the new miis are cute, i like their eyes a lot, but you cant go wrong with classic miis.
As far as I know, you are able to use classic mii's as well as the new Sportsmates, they will have the new style body though, but the head will be normal mii's.
I don't have too much to say about this topic specifically; I just want to say I've really appreciated your recent attempts to branch out and that I'm looking forward to whatever you have in store. I always know I'm in for something good when I see something from you!
Maybe the internet can bully Nintendo about the new Mii’s just as relentlessly as they bullied Paramount about the character design in Sonic the Hedgehog and they’ll change them back.
Damn Guys! Thanks for all the support and comments on this video, I've been reading some interesting discussions in the comments.

I never liked the Miis at all.
This is also still something in Beta. What you see now has the chance to change when it actually comes out.
The style of these new characters is just to show proper form in the sports and nintendo leaned in too hard to it
My main problem is that they look so generic. The great thing about Miis is that they're simplistic, but appealing, and highly customizable.
in the future, people who grew up with the Switch Sports avatars will be talking about how Switch Sports avatars are better than whatever avatars [Future Console] Sports is going to have
@Cloud strife's son there's also a thing called selective memory where we only remember the good things of something and pretend the bad things didn't happen.
@Cloud strife's son another thing is comparative nostalgia where the next entry does some things worse so we look back at the previous one fondly by saying:
"At least [Last entry] had [features the later entries removed]"
or
"At least [Last entry] didn't have [issues the later entries have]"
I can make a freaking headcrab on my miis face
But not anymore
Also uncanny valley in the face

These new ones loom alright but the proportions kind of give them a "mascot head" vibe.

exactly how i felt with animal crossing. and also the new simpsons episodes lol. the old ones were weirder and had more heart put into them... now they just aim to copy that old thing which can never be done. and they need to appeal to a much more global audience now, having so many things based on obscure Japanese mythology doesnt make as much sense
The regular miis also stare at the distance soullessly

I think it's because there isnt as much customization and they all look kind of "perfect". The cool thing about the old miis was that they didnt have to be beautiful.

I feel like they should add the miitopia customization options. There are the basic mii faces in there but you can change the faces a lot more if you want to be advanced. It takes more time to customize yes, but you can always use the regular mii options.

Speaking of their designs, i’m actually curious on how new miis are going to be played out in new 3rd party games.
Classic miis are extremely simple and customizable, letting you to slap their faces on pretty much any model and call it a day, and it actually worked.

The only charm that is has is that it's old, I guarantee you that if the design was switched with the newer ones, it would STILL have a "charm" to it.

I definitely don't feel represented with the new miis, and the imperfections that made miis unique are just... gone

I think the biggest problem with the whole "New Miis" thing is that everyone's treating them as Mii replacements instead of playermodels for one singular video game
You don't think it's a red flag?
I think that's because Wii Sports is the Miis staple game, so ofc people are going to see it as Nintendo trying to "upgrade" the Miis designs in a way people aren't really down for
@@emberhermin52 Uhh no? it's just people being irrationally angry, it's the opposite effect of people wanting Miitopia Switch customization in future mii games which is unique to Miitopia as the Playmates are unique to Switch Sports.

For me they just look "too perfect". Even if you customize them, they still will be looking catroonish and have perfect proportions
The old Mii's didn't look as good but it allowed for you to project whatever craziness you wanted to on the Mii. They just look too good, and it ruins the messy creativeness of the old Miis that made them so beloved.
Not to mention, you can't turn THOSE THINGS into a realistic looking Pikachu like you can with the REAL miis
they look too young
My problem is that they tried to fix something that wasn't broken. Miis aren't as possible as they were back in 2009, but they're still fun to use in games like this. I feel the same way about the sports. Most of the ones from the first two games were already great, so why do new ones? Especially ones like volleyball and badminton? Even soccer feels like an odd pick. They honestly should've just done a remake hybrid of Wii Sports and Resort with all the original sports and modes and that would've been WAY better!
I found badminton to be a very interesting choice alongside tennis. Aren't those two games going to control pretty much exactly the same?
@@Chase247 those games play pretty similarly irl too so yeah they are gonna be controlled the same way in Switch Sports

you didnt touch on one thing that i noticed immediately- all the "new mii's " are the same height and weight. that was another big thing that separated miis from each other. of course, i always made my miis the shortest possible- but it still differentiated my miis from others miis.
They were pretty much all out of ideas for Phineas and Ferb, but the fans didn't want something else and they are the one who ultimately decide what gets watched.)
if it ain't broke don't fix it
I do like that you can make them look cute and pretty now but they are just wayyy to similar.

That's one of the reasons why I hate these sportsmates.
I saw a complaint once that I agree with. The lack of the customization and the “trendy” hair options make them all look too young. Even the gray haired guy just looks like a guy in his thirties. I agree with you bro
The Miis have a very unique appearance by default, their faces have some degree of freedom and a decent amount of options that can lead to many funny results, and Miitopia’s creator heavily improved on that
While the Sports mates, the base itself looks kind of generic, but still okay, though the lacking customization makes them look more like alternate colors and outfits of a single character, rather than different avatars like the Miis, there’s not much fun allowed here
One thing I think they really could've done is go for a similar approach to what Splatoon did in the customization department.
Splatoon is quite similar to where you can really only change a couple of things with your character, but what made everybody unique was the insane amount of customization from hats, shirts and shoes. Just three clothing items was all that was needed to make everyone look and feel unique.
The thing is the miis were good because they were super simple and extremely customizable the new ones feel like they are too modern
Actually, the Miis we know are in the game, Nintendo simply doesn't want to bother showing them off in the trailer.

Yes
It's astonishing how a company can consistently make so many horrible business decisions.

No doubt, THAT would take at the very least a year, but if we just add more outfits and facial stuff, the Miis could be a lot better in the eyes of the New Mii haters
If you can customize it enough, you should be able to match your preferences no matter who you are.
Yeah the Mii with the beard just looks like a kid tried to look like his dad and painted a beard on his face
To me, they look like most Teenaged Anime Characters (Sailor Moon, Legoshi, Hinata, Ash)
Which doesn’t really fit well when the Miis are supposed to fit a wider demographic
i think the main issue is the miis lack individuality. i know the new miis look similar for the consistency and cleanliness of it, but the older ones have a handmade- very recognize and unique face. cause they were. you could have two very different miis and recognize they were still from the same media.
Am I the only one who likes the ”new mii” more than the normal mii? Also, why everybody is forgeting that there’s an option to use a mii-type head???
My personal reason is that the miis had some “lore” on them. Even if they acted similar they all were different, they had certain miis they would go with, some miis could even be enemies, and a few had a little backstory, like:
-Matt defeating other Mii on boxing long ago.
Miis are confirmed to be in the new game.
There is an option to play as miis, but it’s still not the same
I can understand everyone's reasoning for not necessarily liking these new characters because the Mii characters were simplistic but very customizable.
@@mysticdigital5936 AFAIK you can still use the old Mii characters in the new sports game on Switch though, so there's that…
Thinking about it, I might be cool with it if they took Miis and gave them an "HD" remake that leant in the direction if the new avatars; i fact, that might even be nice.
But to completely sideline the miis? To shove them to the side in the game they once starred in? Yeah, I'm not happy with that. And yes, you are right that nostalgia plays a role.

The miis are so simple and effective at creating ACTUAL similarities with seemingly few characteristics to customize (hair, eyes, nose, mouth)
The chibi, 3d anime trying too hard to be realistic but crealry not at all is just uncanny AF and lack creating that connection of 'look is me in a game' to a 'this is the best I can do with it, it looks nothing like me, they all have the same face...at least the hair is somewhat like mine'
@D YellowMadness Nah, Miis can look pretty good once you have enough practice with them.
@@D_YellowMadness that isn’t necessarily true, my mii looks a lot like me. I don’t think these new miis or sports mates would have that level of customization
Both miis are bad the old ones are outdated and ugly new ones not much customization
@@ttop9445 If your Mii is ugly, it's because you made it ugly. It's literally a customizable character.
the real problem is we all got blueballs after see what could have been with miitopia, the changes they made in miitopia with miis was crazy fun while still keeping the iconic mii look
They honestly should've learned from Miitopia and if we're going further, tomodachi life. Really good games fully based on miis. Wii sports was the best. Those 3 games all did well when sold and I owned all 3.
Why do I suddenly miss the "sphere hands" and the stiff motions? It's like what made miis the best 😭
FR
"You got that, buster?"
I feel personally attacked by this.
lmao
Well did you get that?
Ouch-
What are you doing here bro?
@@ninsebas3676 I have no idea
I think the lack of customization is key. No wonder they look generic when there isn't even much of variety in the first place.
@@raphaeldagamer Well animal crossing has its own character customization system too, but no one complains that they "clash" with miis.
@@raphaeldagamer The sportsmates are fine
I honestly like the new Mimi’s because they kinda give an animal crossing kind of vibe. The only downside is how realistic the rest of the body is
They don't look super bad, if anything they're quite pretty.
@@j3ssthealien283 One of my gripes with many of the Wii games is the set height and weight of the Miis. It makes small Miis look super awkward.
@@j3ssthealien283 "pretty tweens" "ugly people" switch the pretty with ugly
I actually think they look pretty good. It’s just that the Mii’s were so classic that people will miss them.
@@wet0wl it's not that, they look generic and childish
You know I wish the miis were more revenant in Nintendo Switch Sports (or at least see more gameplay to see miis were playable) If mii are conformed, I really wanted the Miitopia customization options again, that was one of Nintendo’s best ideas I seen in a while!
I still remember when I reacted to this. I was constantly whispering to myself: „Where are the Miiii‘s?? Where are the Miiiii‘s???!“
I was so glad that they showed that you can still use them.
I really like the Sword and Shield avatars, They actually look a Upgrade!
Yes I agree they really like personality. From red to Kalem/Serena, they all looked like protagonists, with a cool recognizable design. But in sun and moon onward, they all look super generic, their only emotion is this terrible psycho smile.
I like the newer gen models smh for Pokémon not for the Nintendo sports
Newer gen pokemon characters still retain their old art style?
@@Overdrive-_- They just look bland
I 100% would have bought this game if they had included the makeup feature from Miitopia. I’ve spent HOURS making Miis in that game because there’s so much you can do with the tools they give you. Whereas you can make a Mii look like yourself, or Peter Griffin, or a hamburger, there’s… not much you can do here. They’re stuck looking like normal humans. That’s my main issue with these Metaverse-lookin’ suckers.
Redesign’s far better, especially with the focus on distinctive shapes. I also like their bowling ball egg. Good stuff.
You can still use your mii in the game
I think the difference is that miis were invented as this new gimmick for you to try and create yourself or other people with a series of basic presets you could customize to a staggering degree, while these new things feel like the corporate amalgamate of Nintendo character creation of Pokémon animal crossing, and splatoon that are trying to copy the success of the original mii with none of the depth or quirkiness to it
My first thought was immediately "is that ninjala?" And, they already have the classic Miis in smash bros. That would mean there would be some inconsistencies to what we have in the game, and the switch profile pictures themselves, too.
Plus theirs miitopia
Every else: *talking about the “new miis”
Me: WAIT! The original miis are REPLACED?! 😨
To quote Marge, "I just think they're neat."
The only gripe I have, and it's a minor one, is the seeming lack of facial customization (as in the similar eye and nose styles).
I agree!
As far as I know, you are able to use classic mii's as well as the new Sportsmates, they will have the new style body though, but the head will be normal mii's.
These are not "new miis", they are a separate thing for this specific game.
I don't have too much to say about this topic specifically; I just want to say I've really appreciated your recent attempts to branch out and that I'm looking forward to whatever you have in store. I always know I'm in for something good when I see something from you!
Thank you man!
Maybe the internet can bully Nintendo about the new Mii’s just as relentlessly as they bullied Paramount about the character design in Sonic the Hedgehog and they’ll change them back.
