I am trying to do the same on my OBS but I am having a hard time taking off the panel. Any tips? I know you mentioned the previous owner has done it already
You really just need to melt away all the plastic that holds the plastic 'rivets' together, it's a little bit challenging, you have to somewhat pull on the panel at the same time you melt the material.
Did the same process on my 95 Flareside on my channel. Good job man.
Long time no see! Glad your back!

What material did you use for wrapping over the repaired panel?
I just used the existing vinyl covering that came with my truck from the factory, it was in decent shape.
