    I had a Dark Cherry Red 2007 Lincoln Town Car (without the Landu top or all the extra chrome on it) that I put 464,000 miles on it, didn't burn nor use a drop of oil. It just had leaking valve cover gaskets at around 300,000 miles. I always changed my fluids regularly in it and it still ran and drove like it did when I bought it with 52,000 miles on it in July of 2015. I just sold it August of 2022 with 464,000 miles. They are Ford's last reliable body of frame car platform. These cars are very forgiving vehicles when it comes to maintenance. Love these Panther Platforms!

      Dude, you must live in your car, do sales or limo to put 60K/yr. That is a lot of driving. They are great cars though.

      @@LisaMedeiros-tr2lz I was using it for Rideshare and family vacations. It was one of the best cars I ever owned. I wanted to keep it because it still ran and drove like new. Just didn't seem practical to have four vehicles at the time.

    This gives me hope that I can remove my vinyl top and keep a hard top without it looking scrappy and unpresentable. I do not like the idea of having a vinyl top and no garage I just don’t want to deal with sun damage again😂

    Very interesting report. That car in new Smyrna Beach was one that I was going to look at back in February.
    I ended up buying one in Ocala and got a great deal, the original owner who is 86 years old Female who owned it and was the only one to drive it. The vinyl roof was pretty much shot, but I replaced it in Orlando.
    101,000 miles with perfect chrome wheels and interior. A few dings on the outside that you only see up close. New intake, complete rebuild of AC, and she provided over $3500 of receipts over the last couple of years.
    Yours looks great.👍
    Thanks for sharing.

    It came out good enough that I don't know why you said you still want to paint the whole car. I would save the coin myself as it looked pretty good from this distance anyway. I like the MK wheels. Not sure why you wouldn't bother to disconnect the battery when you did the airbag. I know you can say "see it worked out fine", but the way you were holding it, it would have taken your head clean off if it went off for any reason. The beauty cover has a couple tang slots on both sides of the alternator and you need to slide the tabs into those slots and push back towards the firewall before putting in the hex fastener in the back so it won't flop around. It looked like someone abused the passenger side carpet. Try some cleaner on a circular brush on your drill to see if that can help. I have had good luck with Tuff Stuff Multipurpose Foam Cleaner. It does a good job, but that may not be totally recoverable as it looked like it might have some oil and tears. Also give 409 a go with a MF cloth on the rear seat stains, and if that doesn't do it, try a little bit of your rubbing compound on a MF towel lightly so it doesn't take off the sheen along with the stain. Lastly if you can source a center console, it will look almost new in the interior. I like how you darkened the tail lights, though I would just leave that be myself (as I have) so the rear lights are as bright as they can be for the distracted drivers (like everybody). I picked my 2004 Ultimate less than a year ago with 92K. It was very clean in/out with only a couple minor chips. Like yours it has the vinyl landau (and would have preferred being without that for the reasons you showed), but am not ready yet to rip it off and paint it. I have the cashmere paint, which is a triple metallic, which I think will be impossible to match and would require a complete car redo. Just finished a correction and heavy compound and wax on the top, roof and hood that I hope protects the outside of the landau (I know that does nothing for underneath). We'll see where it goes. I also changed out all my fluids and glad I did. The tranny had the yellow pop cap in the pan, so it was never done. Service records from the previous owner forwarded to me as he passed. It was a garage queen for the most part. I got it about half price of what they go for compared to similar condition. I really like the car. Mine has the sunroof and every option. I need to diagnose the seat heaters that stopped working this Winter. The rear passenger window stopped functioning, but given the cost of the regulators and the fact I have four other windows (including sunroof) I will likely not bother. My bags are working good for now. Don't forget to do the windshield cowl gasket. Even though mine was redone once with RTV, had a swimming pool in the rear floor causing me to have to gut the interior to dry them out. After carpet clean, redo of the center console rusty feet and reinstall, it has been dry since after I redid the cowl and sealed the park brake and hood release cables on the firewall. What a PITA. Good luck with yours. Looking good.

    I bet it’s so smooth , had a mercury sable 2004 luxury model best car I’ve ever had . Easy maintenance and customizable. I kept it looking stock because it was beautiful. Sparkle ✨ in the gold paint and tinted windows . It took me everywhere because it was gas friendly. Leather seats with center console and loud stock speakers . I can go on about this car . I’m glad to see them come back . I’m 21 and i can see why people loved those cars

    Isn’t it easier to take the bumper trim off rather than tape it and peel the tape off? Nice Town Car. Mine has a canvas top and although it only has 45k miles I am sure it’s not pretty underneath. I like the look of the roof. Not sure what to do in the future. My car is on my channel.

    • @LisaMedeiros-tr2lz
      @LisaMedeiros-tr2lz Рік тому +1

      @@drewskeez1156 Well that is a function of getting a low miler to come up in some reasonable proximity. His vid started with him doing the great circle looking for one. Ones in pristine low mileage shape I have seen go for $15-20K. He explained having less than $5K in it INCLUDING the paint, so he got a reasonable deal. Mine has the top (wish it did not). If you keep the top on, as I am currently doing, it will rot and could require much more work than his did to fix it or the car will be devalued significantly with major rust perf. I have no room in my garage for mine, but have decent cover I hope will help, but what a PITA.

    Pretty cool video. Iv been looking for a town car and all these dealers with the prices sheesh. Can you believe these guys. The worst thing is when you get there with the ridiculous amount of money they want ready to spend the car isn't what they said on the phone and the pictures they took were at some odd angle that hides all the flaws. Again I just came across one with 81k on it but it's about 3 hrs away and I'm ashamed to even admit I'd even think about entertaining the idea of spending 11k. I just want it to be perfect and id like to get the dam car in this lifetime here the one I'm living in now. But anyway I think you know what I'm going thru. Who knows maybe I can talk them down some this is ridiculous. Idk but wish me luck. Cool video and congratulations on a nice car.

It has the coolest interior with partition, extra jumpseats, and fax machine . I'm a Town Car enthusiast and I had to have it. 4 years now and I love it but it needs a paint job. There are cracks in the paint where it was stretched. It would look amazing if redone. It runs like a top 126k miles. Interior is like something out of a movie. 🎬 🎬 🎬 It would make great content.
