It's just amazing what the passage of time can do. Twenty years ago I never gave these Lincoln Town Cars any notice. Now, thanks to Anthony, I realize that we are all witness to the passing of the Grand American luxury sedan. Like the song says, "you don't know what you've got . . . til it's gone". Thank you, Anthony.
You know what I love about these old gems is they are beautiful and simple. No giant complex screens that you need to scroll through 5 menus just to adjust the fan speed.
The 4.6l can easily run to 300k without a problem. My mother 👩 had a Crown Victoria with this engine that ran over 250k with just a leaking valve cover gasket. 😊
Greetings Anthony & Papa Bear, it amazes me that a 20 year old Lincoln can have such low low miles, but I know they're out there!!! This Cartier edition is absolutely spectacular!!! Thanks once again for sharing this exciting video!!! The wheels look like they just came out of the factory, they're perfect!!! 👍🎄☃️
It is so obvious how much you love this car by your putting cloths on your lift to protect the underside of this car. Words to describe this Lincoln: perfection, stunning, quality, jaw-dropping, impossible to ever find again, time-travel 20 yrs ago, pride in ownership and build quality, etc. I think God would be pleased to drive or be driven in this car.
In 2014 we inherited a Mercury Grand Marquis top of the range sedan. Cheapest car we ever owned as it was gifted by a dying relative. It had 2800 miles on it. We had owned some serious wheels, American and imports, and my wife still drove a BMW 7 series. I fell in love with that big, lazy V8 the provided the cops and cab companies with vehicles. Nobody under 70 bought a Panther platform Ford unless they owned hire firms or were gangststers. This is where my wife and I plot views. She disliked it and said I was far too young to drive an outdated car. She would not ride in it if she could avoid it or at the frequent times her BMW was in the shop. ( a monthly occurrence). Eventually it was traded for the last of the modern T Birds that Ford were clearing for thousand below sticker. Nice little cruiser but cruel to drive on long trips. I miss those models although some still pay as taxis here or act as dummy cop cars to stop speeding. I am glad to see they are now aging respect for what they are, superb family sedans in the true American tradition. Sadly they are also beginning to sell for more than I can justify these days.
These cars had one of the best, easiest to work one engines that Ford ever built! Really the only concern was the plastic intakes. They would crack in the back passenger side and leak coolant. Unfortunately replacements are no longer made so if one goes bad on you good luck finding a replacement. On the upside this one here with proper maintenance is a good 300k miles away from that concern. Nice find!
HKNR ... Just guessing but it's probably assembly workers initials. Anthony, you are 100% correct on this car. It is without a doubt a museum quality car. Quality control markings all over the engine and the under carriage. This car should go to a serious collector who has the financial resources to park this car in a climate-controlled showroom and can take care of it. Please do not sell this car to just anyone I implore you.
Honestly, it’s a Panther Criwn Vic with just lots of extras and a smoother, quieter ride. It is NOT a museum piece. It’s a nice car don’t get me wrong but it not going to appreciate in value. Ever. Other than the 50s and early 60s Continentals and convertible Town Cars NO Town Car is collectible. Even the early 70s pre-emission 460-equipped Town Cars with that unique and very cool rusting drum speedometer only bring maybe $20k if they’re in exquisite condition.
I've got an 06 with 50k miles...... always thought that little ticking sound in the motor meant something was wrong. This video and a couple of your other ones let's me know that just a the sound of the 4.6 running beautifully
@@biggtastee2401 preciate ya man such a relief. I thought it was a lifter, some kinda carbon buildup up somewhere. Thanks for taking the time to explain that.
@biggtastee2401 doesn't help with the ethanol blended fuels used all over the northeast. About every 3 to 5 k miles put a injector cleaner/ lubricant in its fuel to calm that sound down. The injectors used in the 4.6l are closely related to the ones used in the diesels. A pintle type injector. 😊
That car is awesome it's amazing it has less miles than the new car I bought 2 months ago, I feel like she belongs in a museum too, one of the greatest cars of the 2000s
Can't believe 20 years the Motorcraft battery still works. Everything is OEM very well kept. Wish the bottom of my Lincoln still looks like that. Best garage/barn find yet.
Anthony- A great and amazing ‘03 Town car- I cannot believe you had no fuel tank issues- usually you have to dump the tank and gas, I think the color and condition is special from 2003. Thanks for bringing this to us!
I have a 03 Mercury Grand Marquis LS very clean with 138,237 miles. It's so smooth and I get compliments about it all the time. I wish I could purchase this Town Car. It's so beautiful.
Car is perfect, needs nothing, just plain beautiful. Anthony please don't ever say to be put in a museum. A car is meant to DRIVE, not to look at. Parking in a museum would kill the car, that is why I drive my car (1949 Cadillac) always. My 2002 Ford Excursion diesel 7.3 liter that I bought brand new has 407,500 miles on as now, it is my everyday stop & go local truck, where the Cadillac is my long distant driving car average 400 miles round trip, all highway miles. Love your show always, say high to Papa bear. Bob with the 1949 series 60 special Fleetwood.

I remember the trip from Michigan to Columbus In our 1983 Continental. It was like we never left home. This was before air bags. It was a very comfortable ride. The trip to Colorado , Las Vegas, the Grand Canyon and Salt lake City was pretty awesome too. What fun vehicles they were. Iv had three and driven a few others never disappointed. Nothing like the sound of a big V-8 as you take an on-ramp to the interstate. These turbocharged V-6s and 4-cylinders may have the power, but definitely not the feel or the sound
