  • Join fellow RC enthusiast and Spektrum Technical Director John Adams for our simple to follow setup tutorial series. It is our goal in this series to quickly and simply instruct RC pilots how to setup AS3X on the AR637T.
    In the fourth video in the Basic AS3X Setup series John covers the basics of tuning AS3X utilizing Forward Programming and a gain channel selection.
    - Please note - These instructions apply to setting up the AR637T, AR637TA (must be unlocked) AR630, AR631, AR8360T and AR10360T AS3X Safe receiver.

    How would you adjust the gains without the knob like in the DX6.

    When you say you need to switch throttle cut to get back to forward programing then my nx10 starts over from the beginning, so I have to start all over. I am confused how to go back to forward programing and not have to start all over. Please help! Thank You,

    Followed instructions to the letter using DX8G2 and stabilization doesn't work. Video led me to believe Flight mode 1 would put into play the default gain values. Help!

    I usually use 80% for roll, pitch and it works very well for my Turbo Timber and EC-1500.

    The should have put the number value on the screen when you select the gain know. It is all guess work if you did it right. I did not get my knob to work every time and had to adjust it manually.

    The title of this video says "gains explained". Amazing that you went through the whole video and never explained what gains are.

    Hi, quick question so that I’m understanding. I need 2 separate channels - 1 for Flight Mode switch, and 1 for again Adjustment (RKnob) - correct?
    I’m using an 8360T and am using all the servo ports for control surfaces. I thought the AS3X stuff existed in “virtual” channels between the tx and rx.
    So I have to give up 2 of my control surfaces in order to set up AS3X the way it’s explained in the video? Is that correct?

    I have an AR8360T installed into a MPX Lentus glider. The motor is set to a three position switch. To initiate the AS3X you say to throttle up. Will that work if you have a switch instead of the throttle lever controlling the motor? Cheers

    I take it to do all the adjustments and to to be able to use the programme to the full then I will need a larger radio than an DX6?

      from what i can figure you will not be able to use a ar637t with a dx6 to it's full capacity you would be farther ahead with a ix12. i was in the same boat so i went and bought a ix12 .

      @@bullock154 the hobby store recommended the radio transmitter for me.
      I asked The tech guys add horizon hobby what telemetry receiver is compatible with my transmitter.
      They suggested the that receiver.
      I'm on a disability pension and money's tight.
      I have to take people's word that they're giving me the right advice 😡

    First time user: pretty confusing that there are two "gains adjustments", one setup on a knob and one toggled by flight mode. Actually I do not understand what is going on here. Is it that the gains set by the flight mode are the maximum allowed for each of the flight modes, while the gains set by the knob dial down the maximum to be stable in flight?

    • @SpektrumRCvideos
      @SpektrumRCvideos  3 роки тому

      That is correct.

    • @joenaylor34
      @joenaylor34 3 роки тому

      Suggestion: do not call them both “gain”, it is too confusing. Call the gains set by flight modes “Maximum Gain” and the gains set by the knob “Gain Fine Tuning”.

    Very disappointed ....so many hurdles...I have a dx6e...and trying to get an AR630 programed....so is safe not going to work with this????

    • @SpektrumRCvideos
      @SpektrumRCvideos  3 роки тому

      It will, but like you said, there are a few more hurdles to get it just right. Honestly the stock gains work for most sport and trainer aircraft. The worst part about using the 6e is you will need to land and go into the menu to make adjustments. You won't be able to use a trimmer or knob to adjust gains on the fly. That being said, once you have the gains where you like them, you can then turn on Safe and it all will work. Hope that helps!

    What about adjusting gain sensitivity? I see you can go from 1x to 4x. Thanks.

    • @SpektrumRCvideos
      @SpektrumRCvideos  4 роки тому +1

      Great question! It is essentially there to increase the gain that is available. Lets say you have a model that, even at 100% gain, you still have not reached a oscillation point. At this point you select 2x. which in essences makes 100% gain now 200% gain and so forth. When you set to 2x turn up the gain until the axis starts to oscillate and reduce until the model flys to your preference. This is mostly applicable for slow flying models or models with extra small surfaces. Hopefully that helps! FYI we will have more videos covering these more advanced features soon :)

    At 54 seconds you start to explain what the gains "represent", and then immediately switch to how to adjust it with the knob. You never explain the gains. What about Head Gain and Priority?
