My husband is a retired EMT & firefighter. He said their EMT team used the show Emergency as examples of how to rescue & how to treat victims because the show used real events. How cool is that!
We have the complete TV series on DVD. We've watched it 3 times. It never gets old. My grandson enjoys the show & learns from it.
Yes, there are bloopers. I think we've caught every one. But we chuckle because no show is perfect in its production.

i'm glad you're sharing this with your grandson! my brother was inspired by such tv shows as this... he was an emergency first responder, volunteer fire fighter, army reservist(he saved his CO's life when lightning struck their camp by doing CPR on him) several of the guys were knocked off their feet except him. he could feel the static and hit the dirt. After that he worked for the prison system for about a year before he changed his mind and became a policeman, then a drill sgt (for juvenile delinquents in Tallahassee FL) then he moved down south to work for the ATF. Then off to Africa to train officers in the art of policing and firearms. All this before he reached his forties. And it was all because of these shows. I think his favorite might have been CHiPS and MASH though. he wanted to be a doctor for a long time though.
Now he owns a boarding stable in Florida. quite a tame life compared to when he was younger.
I hope your grandson is similarly inspired. helping save lives is always a wonderful career.
Where did you get the complete series?? I have tried to order several times before. And it is usually a horrible copy of a copy.
The final episode had Gage and DeSoto reminiscing about past calls before they part ways for new assignments. It's a tearjerker because they won't be a team anymore, but it's the sign of a good series when viewers don't want it to end.

Not a specific episode but; seeing the wide streets with their center turn lanes and the 0 incidence of winter and NO snow. That show was instrumental in my leaving the Mid Atlantic for Calif then Arizona

The squad is a squad not an AMBULANCE.
Took me a while but he isn't talking about the squad. He is talking about the ambulance that transported the patients.

Emergency’s first cross over was in the pilot episode with Adam 12. Reed & Malloy were seen in the ER talking with Dixie.

First off it wasn't an ambulance, it was a rescue squad unit
Correct! And secondly, it's a Dodge.....and it's always shown as a Dodge.
@@12345682900 well it was a dodge. The unit was built to the specs in place at the time of the LAFD units and after the series ended it was donated to the LAFD as a reserve vehicle

The vehicle driven by Gage and DeSoto is a paramedic squad, not an ambulance. There were several private ambulances used during the production through the years.
Fire department had a regulation- only fire department personnel were permitted to drive the fire engine. Mike Stoker and Marco Lopez were both actual fire fighters in real life. Stoker did most if not all the driving.
The shot of the ambulance parked on the street at 3:07 is shot at a separate location in San Francisco than the exterior firehouse in the previous frames. The main shot is on California at and this ambulance shot is a few miles away in Chinatown on top of the “Broadway Tunnel” on Mason St & Broadway. Not sure why the guy is talking about LA being the location, because neither are LA, both are 100% SF locations that are easily identifiable today in 2023.
It is not an ambulance. It is a squad truck. It leaves the station as a Dodge and arrives at Rampart as a Dodge. Roy and Johnny never arrived in white uniforms, they always were in the blue uniform or wearing bunker gear, and they are not ambulance drivers, they are Fireman -Paramedics,
Boot did go off with another station, but he came back to Station 51. He actually died and was replaced by Henry.

Roy desoto played a bar owner in later years in Road house with Patrick Swayze. He is gone now but Johnny is alive at 77.. loved that show and the nurse . We all need ringers lactate for her 😅

I use to hang out at Captain Stoker’s station between calls when I worked for McCormick Ambulance
None of the shots match what’s being narrated. The ambulance attendants and black pants on scene and white pants at the hospital….what is shown in the video? The guys at 51 grabbing their hats.
I saw this show in its original run as a teenager. Still watch it to this day. Great show. The city I lived in formed paramedic units as a result of this show back when it was on TV. They still exist and is the only city in my county that also transports patients.

Emergency probably did more good things for the people of this country...and possibly the world than any tv show or movie ever has before or since...calling 911 can be directly attributed to that series getting the ball rolling nationwide

I've noticed that myself. And I've also noticed that in season one that whenever they left the station and turned left, the same set of cars were in the middle of the highway.

It was very easy for the show at the time
It wasn’t a Ford or a Chevy. It was a Dodge.
The exterior shot of the front of the station at the 2:58 mark is on California Street in San Francisco, not LA. I only knew that because I walk down that street and see the fire station from the exact same angle as the shot is filmed from, so it is a very familiar scene I see all the time and there is ZERO chance that is any other location. The Victorian architecture around the station is obviously SF. The dead giveaway(other than it just is what it is) is the dome of the church at the end of the same block as the station is. It is an iconic landmark feature of this area. Not sure why they say it is from LA? Perhaps it is only in some shots?
I enjoyed the whole t.v. series and I liked the Emergency movies they made in Seattle and San Francisco. It was my favorite t.v. show!

I like the premise of this video, but the clips not matching up with the narration is very distracting. Example, talking about the ambulance and showing the Squad 51 vehicle.

I just love the show Emergency! And I have a big crush on Johnny Gage and Roy DeSoto. Love from Marysville California KMG 365
One blooper I saw when Gage and Desoto left the station in their old makeover fire truck the went to the right. They came across a fire and had someone reported the fire. Station 51 was alerted and Engine 51 went to the left and the opposite way Gage and Desoto left and ended at the apt building that was on fire.

Well you don't know you're American vehicles the squad is always a w300 Dodge I have never seen a Ford or a Chevy

I see I'm not the only one a little confused by comments on the Ford and Chevy ambulance. While you are talking about it you are doing it over shots of the squad. I immediately jumped to the conclusion you were accusing the squad of being a Ford and Chevy which it clearly is not. But then and I went back and reviewed it and I see you were referring do the ambulances. I must admit I did not notice that at first.

Snake Bite
Many stand out to me, Like when Johnny was bitten by a rattlesnake, and another one was a young 14 yr old boy stuck in a tree house with an attack of Meneries syndrome. I thought, wow, that has to be tough. However, I was diagnosed with the same disease. Another one I remember well was the virus, which was caused by a monkey. I have several and many episodes I remember well.
I remember an episode, that the engine squad were in trawled in an episode of Adam-12 on the station t.v., the had to leave for a call, kept on asking question on what happen, how funny, considering that Jack Webb was the Executive Producer of both show. Does anyone remember that.

The ambulance was a Chevrolet or some ambulances are Cadillacs but what ford do you see

The show also had real life firefighters in the cast. Marco Lopez, Mike Stoker and Captain Dick Hammer were all real firemen.
Marco Lopez was not a real firefighter, but he did use his real name in the show, which probably gave confusions with him being one, because Mike Stoker was a real firefighter and used his real name in the show as well.
Was a good Actor..
When I was a little girl (born on 1966) I vaguely remember staying the night (with my Dad) at my Grandpas house. He had a small tv on the counter and I remember this show being on. It didn’t bother me back them but now……OMG! I have to turn it off! The damn CONSTANT SIRENS throughout the whole show! Very annoying! I guess when you are little, noise doesn’t bother you as much.

Rampart was the name of a vice like division of LAPD.
The interior of Rampart General was a studio prop
