This was like Emergency meets Scooby doo. I don't know any fire departments that would let 4 kids tag along to a fire. Randolph Mantooth was not a fan but he said back then a Paycheck was a paycheck.
I was such a fan of this show. I think I watched every episode, plus the real EMERGENCY, and there was even a magazine on the show, and I remember how much i wanted one. I finally got my wish.
I actually worked as an EMT with the Goldsboro Fire Department, in Goldsboro NC. I did the Emergency Medical Service under the Fire Department. We did train with the fire personal. My Dad was a fire engineer. He stayed with the fire truck and ran the pumps. The real show was very close to the real thing. Yes I started IV:s actually I done indotractial intubations in the field. I watch the real show every chance I get.
Im an animator and it has been my dream to make animations. Emergency has always been my favorite show. I never knew they tried to make animations on the show! This is amazing
I loved watching the actual/non-animated TV series when it first came out in the '70s, and I'm glad I get to watch three back-to-back episodes on COZI TV now. I'm really surprised that my husband and I don't remember the animated show. 🤔
Figuring this was '70s Hanna-Barbera's "limited animation" style and the source material (the live-action drama on the air at the time) these cartoons were actually well made for the era (had to have the "kids team" and the animals in there, both "very '70s:). Probably Comcast (they might own the cartoon copyrights, as it was Universal's IP) forgot that these even existed 'cause I haven't seen these anywhere else (don't remember these being dubbed into Spanish either, as the live-action series was).
I remember getting up at 8 a.m. on a Saturday morning. Aw. I loved when at the end the real actors would have a quick promo of first aid stuff. Was 10 when God cartoon came out.
I wish they'd bring this back since it showed that everybody COULD work together to get a job done, black, and white, boys, anad girls! Thepeopleoftoday could take a few lessons from this shopw!
"Squad 51. Mr. Gage and Mr. DeSoto!" "With all that action, it got to be big trouble." Yes, because they only respond to BIG calls. Not that trivial stuff. Man, these voice actors read their scripts like they WANT to sound like cartoon characters.
I have a high ranking for watching this show on the television and on the tablet and I watch rescue 911, e.r. with Tony Edward's but on the show he went by Mark Greene, soaps general hospital, Amsterdam m.d. tacoma general hospital 🏥, marybridge hospital and medical center, and more eccsetra

Relax it’s a cartoon.😂😂
…and made to trigger kids interest, hence from the comments below it did for a whole generation of us in industrial or paramedicine.
Back in the 70’s we were allowed to do things unlike today
Watched it as a kid, along with the Saturday night show , and became a medic and served 25 years in the NYC 911 system. 🤎🤘🚑🚑🚓🚓
The cartoon world lost a good voice.
I was three years old and I remember every episode. The catalyst to a beautiful career in the fire service.
They DID NOT have a firepole at Station 51`
Granted they didn't but I guess that it's for dramatic affect. Love from Marysville California KMG 365
Johnnys first station-I think it was 10-had a fire pole
@@coolbear6441It was Station 10.
@@MsDoItAll82 which in reality is LA County fire department station 8 in West Hollywood

I remember watching this as a little kid and now it dawns on me - the kid is driving a truck.
Wow!!!! Johnny finally got to drive to a call.
🤣🤣🤣
He’s gotten to drive a few times, like I’m the lighter than air man episode

All that time, I thought this was a Hanna-Barbera cartoon.
Never missed the show on Saturday night. Just visited the museum in bellflower and it is awesome!!!
Couple of changes I finally noticed..their turnout coats and helmets were always in the squad; here they show them in the closet area…

Dang!!! I forgot about this!!!!

Is this the only animated TV series Universal Television ever made?
This was so cheesy, but they don’t make cartoons like this anymore, these were great back in the day.
20:38 No time for monkey business, Bananas!
I never knew there was a cartoon based on EMERGENCY.
Made by Hanna-Barbara in the mid 70s 🚨

@@joelsmith3797 - that was Filmation, then H-B's biggest competitor in made-for-TV cartoons. Also using the same voicing actors as TOS.
Carburetor adjustment? What the hell is a carburetor?
6:48 Since when 51 ha day truck company?
It never did back in the original show, only in this show did they add a truck company.
@@EvanDowell1213 Guess makes since because irl they have a truck so I guess it works
One of the WAY early Hanna-Barbara series. Not bad but I still prefer the live-action series 🚒

I thought this was dumb when I was a kid. Still think so today.
I forgot there was a cartoon
WTF are those kids fuckin around an oil field?
I don’t did this
Meh, still better than Station 19.
🤣
Man that was cringey.
rappelling with an scba on?
God I remember this show as a kid! So lame. No pole in the station, no boots, oh, and no lame pain in the ass kids in the way either!
simply awful..."increase he pressure...and the guy cranks on the hydrant more. awful show
