One of the best movies ive ever watched
I was 20, living in Canada in 2001 as a university student. When aload of ozzies from summer camp turned up and somehow this film they recommended was at the local drive in, I loved it. i watched it continually, we all travelled to new york, I left on 10th September, next day i thought the ozzies had all died as they flew out that morning on domestic flights. Yet 20 years later though one of them was best man at my wedding to an American chick at palm beach NSW! And this song I love so much, I will have them play at my funeral, but how the fook is heath ledger dead, when we hit it probably so much harder than he ever did , anyways true story!!

the version of 'these days' on the movie is a mix between the album version and the version recorded for the movie, this version has the guitar solo at the end which isnt present on the two hands version but is on the odyssey album.

I can't believe that little boy is a teenage girl
I saw Powderfinger once in Toowoomba before they blew up. They’d been a bit heavier back in those days.
They played to a largely empty room and no one clapped for them to play an encore. One of my biggest regrets that I didn’t have the gumption to stop playing my game of pool be the only one so they would keep playing. I bought a shirt from them that night so at least I could contribute. From what they went on to create (like this song) I’m glad I did and I’m stoked I got to see them play again years later.

How interesting. I lived in Brisbane in the mid-90s and moved in early 1998. I vaguely remember Powderfinger playing at 4ZZZ market days, or maybe they were just referred to on ZZZ or in Time Off listings newspaper. I never saw them. I saw bands such as Webster, Wishing Chair, Dream Poppies, Around/Outta the Mud, the Toothfaeries; at Ric’s Cafe and The Orient and The Roxy. I confess to having dismissed them without even listening to them because of their band name, which seemed derivative/reminiscent of Silverchair and others that i cant think of

I’m a bit morbid but it’s always struck me as disturbing the 1:57 part. Two shots that visable make him jump shit scared, perhaps even thinking I made it through, before the blood splatters.
