    Hay! You used a photo (the one of the CAF M4 train at Station Zuid), which I made a long time ago when I was a kid and which I once uploaded with a CC licence. Kinda cool :)

    Quick fact: Lots of the current tram stations also had Metros on them, so there would be two different heights at each platform along with some lines going directly to larger metro lines using the tram lines. Thankfully its much simpler now with the trams and metros being seperate

    Rokin ks my favourite station on that line because of the display next to the escalator of what was found while digging out the station space.

    The Noord/Zuidlijn (North South-Line) is the most ''metro'' of all lines

    I'm pretty sure the shop at the Postjesweg station is supposed to be called "The Pitch", but clearly the sign was vandalized by someone with a very dirty mind.
    Also, the Europaplein and Vijzelgracht Stations look pretty freaking awesome.

      and yeah vijzelgracht specifically is just like...epic

    Some of those Dutch words ARE hard to pronounce! Loved the information you provided about its history! I got excited when you were on the train, you passed one of the White and Blue trains that goes to Meirlot-Houte! I mentioned that before, there used to be a live webcam there that I would watch quite a bit!

    Why do the trains say Rnet isn’t that the Rotterdam transit system

    • @honajtransit
      @honajtransit  Місяць тому +1

      R-NET is the branding for higher-quality transit in the Randstad, so the provinces of North and South Holland. GVB doesn't use R-NET branding despite many of their services qualifying, with the exception of the metro!

      And the Rotterdam metro system is operated by RET although some services are branded with R-net to incorporate with the broader network, but that is just a brand no the operator

    Just give up on speaking Dutch. It is a Germanic language, it is the closest language to German, and nevertheless us Germans also are gettig a knot in the tounge attempting to pronounce it - plus when we try to actually understand it, the Dutch are usually just waiting for us to fall victim to one of the 10,000 false friend words 🤣 Good thing is - both work the other way round as well. Because honestly speaking the phonemes exist all in both languages (and many of them in English as well). The secret is to know this. Some examples (NL-DE-EN):
    IJ = EI = AY
    OE = UH = OO
    etc.
    Won't make you a perfect Dutch speaker of course (no language is that friendly to foreigners' attempts), but at least makes you sound much better to them than trying it with you mother language pronounciation.
