Amazing unboxing video I can’t wait to see it in action!
thank you. Same here.
It doesn't sound like paid advertising at all when someone says "it's the best" before even trying it...
I wish it was paid. Cyc motors please check this comment and pay me 🙏
@@ElectricVehicleSpace then, even more strange if you talking about something you not tried and even without any payment... :D
@@jozefmojzis8365 I do own gen 2 kit and I tried the this drive but it takes long time to record and edit plus a have another 15 projects I'm working on for subscribers 🙃
Maybe not paid but fake review if he hasn't tried it. Maybe he meant to say it looks the best or has the best specs or is the easiest to install but without a test ...nope...sorry.
@@ElectricVehicleSpace Strange, considering it's a product that isn't even out ;-)
Thanks for the upload it's nice to see how the aftermarket is progressing. I'm a Bafang bbshd and bbs02 owner.
My pleasure! How long did you have them and how is the performance?
@@ElectricVehicleSpace I've installed the bbshd on a full suspension Trek it was very easy to fit . I'm recovering from major surgery and haven't been able to ride them yet that's why I built them.
Quality and good engineering.
Great for any type of bike including road bikes.
😎👍
I've got the bafang BBSHD on my bike so i can't wait to see this build 🙌 👏👍🏾
Same here. Editing and testing takes so much time
Wonderfulastic unboxing. Idk if that word exists. Can't wait to see this bad boy in action
I just posted updates on cyc. So disappointing 😞
@@ElectricVehicleSpace Updates as in it didn't fit the bike or you got it going and it was disappointing in speed and specs because I didn't see a video or info about you having it installed and working.
also you mention its coming out in a few days not long ago, I don't see anything on their site about this motor yet. Do you know the price of this motor for the US?
Awesome stuff!
what type of bike frame are u using? how much.
Looks amazing 😎👍
Indeed it does
Its clean & compact, really like it, how many levels of pedal assist?
You can adjust in the app. Video test coming soon
Oops, this did not age well. Subscribed just to see how you resolve the problem, good luck!
Got the frame and fork. Waiting for the rest of the parts. Check my x1 stealth gen 3 review.
Have you another video upload soon with tried and tested results? just ordered my photon 2days ago but could take me weeks to recieve 🤯, ❤🇬🇧
I will try but I'm waiting for parts to assemble the second frame.
Hey man great channel, can you do a video comparing the cyc photon to the stealth gen 3 for trail riding it very differcult to understand which is the better motor. There are no other videos doing this comparison test in UA-cam. Thanks!
Check my recent videos. I posted stealth and x1 pro. In a week or 2 doing trails and comparing them.
@@ElectricVehicleSpace yeah I saw you vid on the stealth , but can't really tell the difference in experience to the photon. They have a similar spec so would be awesome to have some comparison
That is awesome !
nice how you talk about something you have being waiting long time and without even installed and try it...this one its the best you say ..
I have their gen 2 drive
So where's the installation/test video???
Thanks for your efforting.
Great review!
More coming soon.
What battery setup did you order? Don't see in your description. Can't wait to see your whole setup I'm thinking about doing this to my 29r Specialized Mtn bike.
Have a '81 Stumpjumper. Thinking the same thing!
It is possibile to set up output power limit at 250watts using cyc app.
@@shockadellick Who is going to know though when it is so quiet and sleek 😁
This looks amazing! How much is the motor kit?
It's for 3v battery??
I don't see This kit in the website
It's coming out Friday, Jan. 13.
I'm thinking to buy it, which gen should I buy?
I just received the frame and soon mount this drive for video test.
I have a stealth bomber style frame that I bought earlier this year. A motor like this is exactly what I want on it. Can't wait to see the build and review.
I can see this motor burning out on a stealth bomber frame on hills, unless you're peddling aswell. I'd recommend at least 4kw direct drive motor on a stealth, just to be safe. It's a lot of money to go up in smoke. It's probably good enough for ordinary bike frames on hills depending on rider weight, but I've seen similar compact geared motors go up in smoke on long climbs. Just saying, it's probably a waste of money when you consider other motors.
@@colinriches1519 Thanks for your opinion. So far all I have is the frame, no decisions will be made until next year. Right now I am making the most out of a Bafang mid-drive on a mountain bike frame.
So wait, this is different motor than CYC X1 gen 3 that they just released?
Yes this is the new design that has more benefits.
@@ElectricVehicleSpace I see. This will finally fix that loud annoying noise that their CYC X1 drives had. Finally good option to DIY ebikes since Bafang is outdated.
@@infiniteoffset
it looks like a miniature Bafang motor. So I guess CYC's X1 style and design wasn't working for them?
Yeah one review more, the best S Pedilec Motor in DIY, good is, it's not TÜV ~45.
I have a BB-MT500 bottom bracket and want to order this motor would you say I need to order the BB92 version? Thanks for a great video!
I think it is the best to email the company to get the correct info. That is how I ordered it.
How high is the resistance when pedaling with no motor power?
I would like to know this too but cannot find any info on it.
not sure Why Bosch , yamaha , shimano ... haven't come out with any high power rigs yet . Bafang holds the title but been waiting for cyc and others like cyclone to come out with something cheap , quiet , user friendly like bafang has for years
Actually, it's 250w nominal and 1000-1500w is only peak power.
The usecase for 1000-1500w peak, is VERY small. Simply put: you're not going to be able to throttle for longish durations (more than a minute) at those wattages and while riding 800w (Bosch peak) is already 3-4 times your power output which is plenty of power even for emtb
@@kjeldschouten-lebbing6260 interesting about it actually being 250w and 1000w peak . For legal reason perhaps ? like the bbshd being "750w" legally . i mean i hold the throttle forever at over 1000w sometimes . no ill effects in years on this old Luna . plenty of folks have said the same
@@kjeldschouten-lebbing6260 no it is programmable stock, without unlocking, for nominal wattage of between 250 and 750. Peak sustained is 1200
you say at a reasonable price so how much is it? when its is going on sale?
I rushed a bit, the cyc will unveil it and update in 1 to 2 weeks.
How did u get it if it says coming soon and on their site it says 250-1000w obviously it looks much cooler than bbshd and I’m sure bafang will loose alot of market just bcs of this if these guys can keep up with the demand
I'm trying to get you the best coolest stuff on the market. I'll update the link and use that code to get it.
@@ElectricVehicleSpace looking forward to see ur bike
@@rhl2macwan absolutely 💯
Can I buy this project from you????? Please Brotha !!
chains are getting Scared ! lol wonder if they have belt sprockets
cv hubs work great with mid drives. autoshifting options with envilo, aka Nuvinci hubs. one chainline makes it low maintenance
I wouldn't call the expected EU price of 1200(!) Euro's "a reasonable price" though.
the quality level is there and for US market makes total sense.
@@ElectricVehicleSpace "the quality level is there"
With all motors being around the 500-800 EURO mark, including those from trusted high-quality manufacturers, I see no evidence for your statement that the quality somehow justifies a 40-50% markup.
@Kjeld Schouten-Lebbing it's smaller and delivers
@@ElectricVehicleSpace Smaller than a bosch or bafang? No definately not.
It is smaller than the TSDZ2, but that's not what I would call a "high-quality manufacturer".
It delivers "normal" performance, technically speaking.
You really don't need to act like it's more than it is. It's a VERY expensive TSDZ2/Bafang alternative. With big exclaimation on "VERY".
Btw prices are getting out: it's more like 1400eur.
Would this be good for hauling a trailer?
depending on the weight.
Is the chainring NARROW-WIDE or just a normal one?
All their chain rings are narrow/wide
Who came hare after watching passenger paramvir
What's the name of this model? Can't see it on their website yet.
They will release it in few days.
Good video mate ! But wrong info thought... Max is 2000w for this motor !! Not 1200w
look up on the website or learn to read.
@@ElectricVehicleSpace yes ,open eyes it says 2000w in Canada 🇨🇦 😄 need link on video?
@@ElectricVehicleSpace ua-cam.com/video/H22lb000m0U/v-deo.html
any update on super 73 biold ?
It will happen in December. I have 3 more bikes to test and after it's all super 73
Will this work on beach cruiser with coaster brake?
Yes but get better brakes
No, it has a regular clutch. When you pedal backwards to engage the coaster brake, it will just spin. I think only Tongsheng's TSDZ2 is available with a coaster brake compatible clutch. I have used one on my commuter year round for three years.
One of the main things that turned me off about the BBSHD was how much of a frankenstein build it made your bike because of all the excess cables, with the torque sensor of the photon it eliminating the need for some of those wires. Your going to have quite a challenge to fit a battery of a practical size in that frame of yours..Surely your going to need at least 20ah. With the speeds you will reach full suspension is just about mandatory but all the designs prevent putting a decent sized battery in your frame.
This is not BBSHD. YOU ARE lost in the sos!
@@ElectricVehicleSpace Yes I know I just mentioned it in comparison to the photon.
Did you ever put this on a bike?
I have the kit and I need to find time to do it. Check the short that I just posted now. This super crazy video is coming soon.
7:00 - 7:05 this is going to beat a system that's half the price, or probably less 😂 I'd hope so lol.
Check last video I posted about cyc comparing with scott lumen, biktrix and lmx 64 systems.
@@ElectricVehicleSpace Just a typo I think. If you were to replace "half" with "twice" it makes sense to advertise...
@@colinriches1519 I am not here to advertise. I test various EVs, ebikes and DIY kits and these cyc kits are awesome and really cheap considering design, power and performance in long run. Also so much FUN!
@@ElectricVehicleSpace Electric bikes are defo more fun than ice. Be good to see a video of it being put through it's paces.
@Colin Riches just ordered the new frame and shock and ran out of money. Need to save for the rest of components in order to finish and test.
How fast can you go with this motor?
Will follow up on the next video when the frame arrives. Price is posted on the link in the description
They make a kit with a 5,000 watt motor don't they?
Yes look up my review on the channel. Super cool stuff.
I wonder if a CYC motor can be put on an EBike with the large battery down tube ? Can always replace the rear hub motor with a plain rear wheel as the front rim is... Oh.. I see you have thought of doing it on an EBike in another video.😂😂 the bigger motor
That sprocket is tiny. My 52 tooth is much larger I think..
Где купить?
Link in the description.
i love it till i saw the $1000 price tag. ouch
nice... except if the price is over 1k$
Quality is not cheap

@@ElectricVehicleSpace joke...sorry
Sell your shares in Bafang lol.
LIKE 👍👍 👍👍👍 💯 💯 💯 😻😻😻 😻😻😻😻
this is a super DRIVE. Next video 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
proprietary chainring is a joke ... apart from that right price might hit the tsdz2 but if this will be as ridiculously priced as stealth ...I see no point over tsdz2
I am probably the ultimate TSDZ2 fan, but this does have several benefits over The TSDZ2, for a unique few people willing to spend tge extra $600. It requires no cooling or main gear modifications for heavy loads or higher power riding. No warrenty killing aftermarket software for custom programming (some people want their assist levels set differently) and it can be user programmed to be legal anywhere in tge world. It can easily be moved from bike to bike with different bottom bracket widths and has 20-40% more torque than The TSDZ2. A lot of this is bull to me, but I get people who want it. I like that the includes app allows you to control tge bike from your phone, even eliminate the display if you like (great for commuters) and uploads stats like the new Bafang integrated motors. Love that it has splined crank arms (square taper being a problem for Bafang and TSDZ2). From what I have seen of all three major kit mfg's Photon has the only really strong 110mm design. All that said, for most people, The TSDZ2 is more than they'll ever use.
