@@Tiagotaf You can build this with a couple hundred dollars worth of tools. Most expensive is the welder but you can rent one. The bandsaw can be replaced with an angle grinder and a spot welder can be made with a car battery. 3d printer is not needed for this build.
Great job. The wide tires make your scooter very unique. I made a sit down scooter using trailer tires, and a trailer wheel hub for steering. I used lead acid batteries, but you inspired me to use lithium instead. Keep your videos coming, we love them!!!
This project came out really well, can't wait to see how it looks post adding lights. I love how the end product came out, would love to own and use it on a daily basis.
Daaaaamn! I started a similar project with much less fabrication and I am nearing completion at this moment. Mad respect for this build!! I have sooo many questions ;)
a possible suggestion regarding the disc brake mount. In the past I have has success from waiting until the rear disc is mounted on the wheel and bolted in place. then positioning the caliper and locking it down gave me a nice reference point to weld from. great work eitherway!!
this thing is super solid. You even took the time and effort to completely weld that steel platform thats crazy. great job man I only wish I had the skill, money and time!
As much as I’m not into any EV or whatever even I would happy having this gem. The thing is a brilliant design and the workmanship is dam right impressive and unlike a lot of products made today this thing will last. Great job 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
It bothers me a little bit that I don't have the knowledge to do the battery in the electrical work in a project like this. I am a certified welder and I have all the capabilities of building a frame for a scooter or a bicycle with no problem, except I cannot figure out the electrical when it comes to battery packs I can wire positive negative to a motor and I can wire a switch but as far as building a battery pack it is above my head. This is some damn fine work you did
Lovely video and great craftsmanship. Also love the fact the video is straight to the point with high quality video no nonsense talking or hyping it up like most youtubers
Jon, Please don't wish.... I am a tool maker by trade and I think everyone I know in this trade was in your shoes at one time. It is just an art that you practice. Just don't 'not do it' if it is what you want to try. UA-cam will give you an amazing education . We all started from the same point. Have fun!!
It's hot. Screw the back fender. But for retailers. You need it for rain blockage. You should build with as much carbon fiber as possible on the frame. You'll get 5 to 10 kilometers faster. That's ready for the retail box bro!
observation: The front fork should double as a tow bar to get it home from drivetrain issues or no juice. Plus sized kids are excluded but should be pedaling a bike anyway.
Great video! Very impressive set of skills you’ve achieved! I’d really love to see you upgrade it with some suspension, I’m sure it would make the ride more enjoyable than what it already is.
The fat tires may be good for rough/off road use, but they also create a lot of friction on smoother roads that eat up energy. Maybe you've noticed that when pedaling bicycles. I'd experiment with different tire widths to optimize for my locality.
Agreed! Something else to keep in mind while riding escooters are helmets, most people wear cpsc helmets, when they should be wearing nta helmets like xnito or bern hudson
i'm always jealous of these builds. looks very well done. wish i had the tools, room and time to do this. What controller is this exactly ? i cant find a high power 48v one with an lcd.
Dude! Everything is fine, but you forgot about the shock absorbers from the front and rear. Only then will it be the perfect product! Good luck with your creations!
Such a sweet build! I had the same controller and lcd screen when I built my e-bike and I absolutely hated the built-in cruise control!! Glad it could be turned off
Personally I would like to put the charge inlet higher up such as on the steering column to keep the dirt off from daily use and skip the bms to keep the battery pack functional for a longer lifespan before replacing.
Electricty is actually more simple then ppl think! I tought myself how to do just this! Here on UA-cam! I know how to build an airsoft gun now and make$ doing so. All from learning from UA-cam videos! If it is something you really want to do and don't have $ for the classes. Just use UA-cam bro! You'll learn everything u need 2 know!
i have made the same scooter with the same tire but bigger one''from lawnmower'' in 2009, i used a honda gx200 cc ,, it was rad !!!! and by the way youre look way cleaner and cooler.
if you install tires that are too wide for the rims it'll cause them to have a rounder profile, this will allow a smoother lean when turning. Those square profile tires must feel like you're falling into every turn, other than that nice build
Neat, though the cost of DIY vs bought... doesn't end up being that much different especially when you factor in the amount of tools needed it's pretty much a loss. The only reason to make it is to make something you can't buy, something custom. I see this sort of fat wheeled scooter several times a week, fits two people too, ready to buy commercial product. Would love to make all sorts of things but without having a workshop full of tools ready to use, it's a no go.
Great build. Consider some more rounded tyres so that you can actually corner? You would hardly be able to tilt into corners at all, severely limiting handling

Wish there was a bike like that Like the scoter and the blue go cart lol Might need shook-absorbers that are a bit stiff and after that do up some outer body covers put in a Bluetooth speaker or two and boom all set and next build a trailer for it
Very nice, amazing tech. Would be a nice upgrade to put twin-tube shocks with springs, for a smooth ride; also since it's all electric, traction on the front wheels too, 2x2, better acceleration, less power loss. Fat tyres are a great choice, optimum grasp, no slippage. Great for Summer rides, or if you could make it modular, to put in the car, as a secondary vehicle for emergencies. You could mass produce them. Maybe even make a variant: gasoline+HHO vacuum engine, for longer range
Would be nice if you showed how far can it go with one charge too. Great video, awesome skills, wish someone could teach me that, maybe that's a good opportunity for you.
other youtubers, "look at me, I play games" => milions of views ....this guy did in one video what most of us wont do in life and gets fraction of that ...how how how? Amazing work dude !
Very nice .But with forward planning you could have put suspension on this . Considering you are riding on rough ground also ..I have a 350 42V scooter with seat this has suspension on seat .Even on this some roads are a little bumpy ..Anyway good luck
The fact that you can just make this in your garage is pretty amazing. Wonderful results. I love the BMX style handlebars

@The Canadian Crippler the fact that you don't realize how awful of a comparison this is, is quite baffling to say the least

He has some brains. Only still not activated
The quality and sturdiness of this thing, and the attention to detail, are fantastic.
Absolutely!
The build looks absolutely brilliant! A dual motor go kart, or reverse (dual motor) trike, would be an awesome 2.0 project. Keep doing what you do!

For those lacking welding skills and equipment you can use a big wheeled push scooter to build this just raise the board
Excellent build bro! I just bought me a Citycoco a few hrs ago & can’t wait to “ride n glide!” I love those aggressive looking tires too!

I thought the exact same thing! He did not take any shortcuts.
he forgot to add suspension tho
@@Blox117 That would have made the project quite a bit more complex(and costly, time-consuming) plus the fat tires offer a bit of bounce as it is.
@@stephenloflin4772 suspension helps keep the wheels touching the ground. no suspension at 30+mph is very unsafe.
@@Blox117 This scooter doesn't got that fast. It tops out at about 25mph.
