How To Identify Your Bearded Dragons Morph Update From A To Z!!!!

- I decided i would do a new Morph video seeing as there a 3 new morphs since my last video and now i can show everyone each more in my hands. I hope this video helps and if not at least you enjoy seeing all the new amazing morphs in the beardy world.
Note Taking. Morph= Physical Traits exception in purple paradox, Phase = Color
Normal: Solid Black Nails, Non-solid colored eyes, no translucence, scaly back. Rarer due to breeding of other Morphs.
Hypo(melanistic): Clear Nails, reduction of pigmentation (don't see any dark coloring on this dragon), Bright as a baby since born without dark markings.
Leatherback: Smooth back. Italian: Legs are smooth. American: A bit more bumpier than Italian.
Microscale: Double Recessive, No spikes on back or crown.
Trans(lucent): Their spikes are see-through, translucent belly as babies, solid black eyes.
Hypo and Trans genes don't get along well.
Dunner: No tail stripes, patterns instead. Amazingly different patterns. Beard is messy, mostly pointing forward. Belly isn't remotely as patterned. Thicker tail base. Larger feet. (are we sure that this is the same species at this point!?!) Limb scales poke out. Scales in general are like bedhead.
Witblits: Patternless and colorless. Can have some colors, but no patterns. Shoulders will NEVER have any color, just the base color. Not good growers. Some can be sterile.
Zeros: ONLY ONE base color. Like Solid Color cats. Except for black spots on shoulder pads.
Hets: Recessive genes that aren't showing.
Paradox: They loose their pattern. Looks patchy. Purple.
Pied: White Blotches
Co-Dominant Gene: Only one needs to visibly carry the gene.
G-Stripes (and friends): Perfect stripes down the back.
Silkies: Generally Smooth, no spikes. Breed 2 leatherbacks.
Breeding 2 trans together isn't good idea.
Mutations that are a weakness should responsibly not be bred together, breed normals in the line to keep them strong.
Color has nothing to do with Morphs.
Thanks for the lesson, teach!
Dragonemperess thanks!
Dragonemperess this makes me feel important to have a normal bearded dragon. No morph. I only saw normals at my local stores, so maybe pet store beardies are a good asset to breeders
Zachary Voss same here (well I'm pretty sure my beardie is normal, normal eyes, claws and has back scales)
K
Me too
That baby dunner is just WOW 😍🙀
Came for the dragons, but I have to say, you have a cute tabby cat.
Thank you!
Michel Behrends what happens when you breed a silky and a silky together?
Michel Behrends
Natalia Bielewicz what
Michel Behrends Can you help me identify mine ??
I might have to watch/listen to this a couple more times before I really commit it ALL to memory, just because there are SO many morphs, but that was absolutely THE best explanation ever... the only one I've been able to follow aaaall the way through without my eyes glazing over and my ears hearing only blah blah blah, lol.
Thanks for the lesson! :)
Hey, man. I know that you've cut back on reptile stuff altogether, but I just wanted to come back and thank you from the bottom of my heart. I adopted a silkback after much thought about how much time & care would go into them, and I just wanted to learn about them first-hand (have owned & fostered several dragons through the years, but never a silkback before). Your videos gave me the courage & info to do so, and you allowed me to bring this wonderful boy into my life. Adopted him at 2 months, and he is now a 1 year + 8 month old healthy boy! I have never forgotten your willingness to teach and open-mindedness to care about these creatures, no matter what anybody said. Thank you.
What morph is the cat?
Looks like a domestic shorthair to me lol
Lol 😂
+Michaela Shapero 😂
😂😂😂
for me it's a Citrus with a little hypo :)
Finally someone did a video like this, long and very informative. I'm not a breeder but I've been reading up on all the morphs out there for a while now. Good job Michael!
I just adore you and the way you handle and love and respect your dragons. We need more people like you in the world ❤️
Hi Michael,
I never bother commenting on youtube posts, but for this I will make an exception. I was captivated by your video and was relatively impressed by your narrative. Please continue to release documentaries like this and you will have at least an audience of one dude.
Cheers
The cat behind the box is like "go a head Dad I'll watch them"
Why does that dragon in the back have fur
It's a long hair dragon it's a rare one to find
It’s a domesticated furry dragon
@Gabrielle Kiger r/whoooosh
You stupid it is a cat🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️
@@andrewhoward486 r/whooosh
Your cat is so behaved, and the dragons are gorgeous
14:02 when he says "its okay mommy" she stops struggling so cute
Normal should be called pure because normal are rare now.
+TheTechnicalMalteser Not in Australia they run all over the landscape it's hard to get hypos and morphs here
+thompsoon3 hypo is a morph
+Jaiden Sullivan i think he meant Hypo and Other Morphs.
TheTechnicalMalteser the only pet store near me has only normals but they have radiator tortoises (extremely rare) but the people there take very good care of them?
thompsoon3 i know right i have a normal and i live in Australia and leatherbacks are the second most common
I thought I was getting ready for a exame very informative and well thought out it has been a great help thank you
I’m glad this guy recorded himself giving his cat a lesson over this
I know this is a really old video but i LOVE how you interact with your dragons, its so loving and parental
Torch in a nutshell:
Lemme smash, stick, blue stick?, yellow stick? No b*tches love blue, Becky lemme smash..
The cat must be thinking, "stop playing with my lunch".
I love the passion you have for your Dragon's. I can tell you have a real bond with them.
Thanks for putting out this very informative video. Didn't realise there were so many different colours, traits and morphs available.
Been looking at getting a dragon or two for a while, and thanks to your video my mind is made up. Now it's just a matter of which one to choose.
Perhaps in your next upload you could mention the approx age of your dragons.
Peace be with you my friend.
If you get two, make sure they live separate, bearded dragons are solitary animals that come together ONLY for breeding.
Donna in pet stores they are thogethet
SPAC3 ISAWESOME yeah in pet stores bearded dragons are together simply because its cheaper to house them in 1 enclosure however it is not ok and not recommended, not even hatchlings tolerate each other ive seen hatchings have other hatchlings by the throat
paul martinez bearded dragons also eat their own children if you dont keep them in a seperate box since they consider some small lizards food too.
SPAC3 ISAWESOME yeah
right as i was beginning to watch this, my beardie, Tigger, pooped on my keyboard.......
Omg- So sorry
i love how the cat is also observing..love this video..very informative!!
Dang where is he pulling all of these dragons out of 😂
Iluvwo
The void
what happened to the two headed beardy?
Mason Revington probably died
Mason Revington
I am going to guess the Paradox Beardie is both expensive, and rare to come by. That, and the Zero Bearded Dragon. All are beautiful in their own ways, though! Thank you for this informative video!
+Han Nah (Love Webkinz 21) They also tend to live shorter, lesser quality lives. It's not a healthy type of beardie unfortunately :(
Absolutely love you man !! Your amazing for your beardies some people in this world think they know what they are talking about when they don't and im telling you now everyone what this man is doing is "caring" for his pets and I admire you !!!! Your videos have helped my so much !!!! Never stop doing what your doing 👽
Great video. I like how you're gentle with them
I also love that cat. he/she just wants some attention, cute😊
Y’know, I started watching this video and for the first half I was planning my comment and it was going to sound some kinda horrible like, “its people like you, collecting animals for bragging rights that causes horrible and fatal mutations, etc, etc.” But I kept watching all the way to the end and holy shit, am I glad I did! Not only are you very knowledgeable about beardies and know quite a bit about their genetics, but you clearly care about them and are one of the good guys in the industry. I’m sorry that my initial reaction was to bash you. If anyone else makes the same mistake I did, I encourage you to watch to the end and consider the thought that this fella only shared a small idea of how much he cares for these animals, but it’s enough to see that he loves each of them just as much as I love mine that I don’t ever plan to breed. They’re not a project. They’re family and now I’m able to see that you seem to also believe this. Thank you for this video (even though I’m watching this 4 years late 😂).
Me and my dragon, Snickerdoodle Squires, or Snickers, love watching your videos together. He (to young to tell yet but is a boy until proven otherwise) loves to jump at the screen and try and play with your dragons through the screen. He gets to play and I get information out of it. it's perfect.
Prolly the most educational bearded dragon videos I have watched.
This was so very helpful. Now I feel like I can look for these traits while I buy my first beardie. Thank you!
Man dude what a cool collection. I think Casper might be my favorite but I love the beautiful Silky at the end. I also really love the Paradox.
Normal colour in Australia (Qld atleast) are a dark blue grey. So they blend in so well with dead logs, leaf litter, grass and gumtrees
Wow, paradox is so amazing. Your dragon just looks like earth! I recently got a beardie this christmas, she was taken in because her old owners didnt have time for her. Normal beardie, sassy as heck, but gosh are they ever easy to fall in love with. Id love to have more one day ahahaa. Thankyou for posting.. Well, all of your videos, theyre so informative and interesting(congrats on your recent hatchlings!)
Thank you for clarifying so thoroughly. New dragon mother and learning about these guys is half the fun!
Love that you tap baby talk to your dragons and your cat is adorable.
While I came looking for answers I haven't found yet, I'm glad I watched! I've learned more with this video then anywhere else :). Thanks for posting!
Superlike .... this is one of the best kickstarter to learn about the beardragon world!!!
Who cares about people judging you about your cold,,,
I got a bearded dragon last year, on march 15th for my 6 day early birthday present. He is a normal breardy I got from a pet store and I named him Phoenix. He has neon orange cheeks, with orangish/ yellowish/ brownish coloring. I love him so much and we are best friends. I just wanted to thank you for helping me with your awesome videos! It always makes me pround when I learn something new everyday from your awesome channel!
Tianna Benoit my bday is March 16
Aww, my beardie is also named phoenix!
I named my beardie Phoenix as well
YOU, communicating the way you do IS AWESOME! It shows the LOVE AND RESPECT you have for this AMAZING CREATURE that we are so BLESSED to have in this country!!!! I am a new mom to an AWESOME juvenile dragon! I believe she is a girl because I can't visibly see hemipiens , sorry if I spelled it wrong!😳 Dragons are VERY SMART animals and I believe that the way you talk and the tone in your voice says a lot to this animal SO you keep doing what you are doing and these CRITICS can go fly a kite and Not watch your videos! I for one WILL CONTINUE looking forward to more of your educational videos!
I wish you could type my beautiful baby!
Real nice I actually was able to watch it all. Great job Webe . Great way to show all our new fams!!! Breeders, friends etc how to know what they actually have "MORPH" wise. Thanks bro!!! Awesome collection you showed us. From Lopez Bearded Kreations!!!! ( LBK)
Thank you soo much dude! This video helped me a lot! I actually decided to do my research paper on bearded dragonmorphs and how each morph would affect a dragon's survival rate in the wild. This video really helped me understand the morphs and all!
Wonderful video, well done man. Don't listen to people bad mouthing you about the way you treat your pets. It's actually refreshing to see, and I can also see that it's effective. They're very well behaved not to mention beautiful
I can't get over the cat in the background haha what a cutie.
This was very helpful, thank you for the clear and concise explanation!
I would like to see a short video of the kitty
Grant - Saturn i as well would but with the dragons too
you are so awesome and every dragon was adorable . this video really taught me alot . i have to point out - you are so loving an gentle with them .
Dude your videos are so cool and I can't wait to see another one of them I really hope that no one says anything bad about you and we care about
I love how much u love them. I just got my first bearded dragon n I have been cramming all the info I can. Yours are beautiful 😍
I watched the whole thing but I couldn't find a morph like my bearded dragon 🙁
what is ur dragon like then?
It could be mixed
Awesome video I hate when ppl say your dragon thinks your gonna eat it if u have been handling it right it will know your giving it a kiss awesome video
I love how you talk about genetics. I love genetics. It makes so much sense to me. This has actually inspired me to try breeding bearded dragons (and water dragons since I have those too). :)
keep doing your videos...i enjoy watching them and learning more about my dragon...
I got a hypo today without knowing and he is gorgeous. I still don't know what his coloring would be called but it's a pastel lime green with orange markings. He is an absolute beauty and he is my first beardie, I got really lucky to find him!!
Oh and his markings are gorgeous, down his back stripe he has white stries going across it. And his legs also have white stripes. I love him.
Awesome informative video. You can really tell how much you love your animals and it was very fun to learn all about them! Thank you. Would definitely take a class on beardies if you were the professor
Wow. You are the Beardie-whisperer!! If I sent you a couple photos of our rescue would you be willing to help us identify his morph?? Not sure if you help people with things like that?? She has become our baby and we spoil her like crazy!! We never knew they had such personalities and intelligence!!
I would just like to say you are so awesome! I love how you bond with your dragon's and care so much for them! I will be purchasing from you soon and can't wait to work with you!
Great video. Thank you. I would love to see what the 41 people that disliked this video from the 175k+ views have to say specifically about what they didn't like. SMH It is hard to find good quality and thorough informative videos like this.
I love silver so much. That grey/white color I love and very citrus-y looking bearded dragons. Thanks for the video :) I learn so much from them!
Casper looks under weight...definitely not jabbing at you here, Michel, because it's your videos that helped educate me in giving my rescue a good quality of life, and it's obvious how much you love your babies, but I'm just pointing out, out of concern. I hope all your babies are well
Maybe he bred a lot that season. Its not uncommon for the males to loose some weight when breeding. Females do after laying also
love the beardies! how long have you been doing this? and your cat is adorable
Praying you get rid of your cold! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
The cat photobombing you was everything
This video is so helpful! I've never understood morphs until now. I've had 2 normal bearded dragons in the past. Now I have a baby leatherback, normal otherwise :)
Amazing. Finally beginning to understand morphs. Thanks Michael.
I took notes to rennet everyone watched the video twice lol LOVE UR VIDS!!!
GORGEOUS DRAGONS!! I always love your videos and all your big dragon bellies!! Thanks for all the info.
Great vid, picking up a hypo trans silkie dunner this weekend for my boy. Amazing beardie.
Does Casper speak Italian? Lol He is a beaut! So tame! Torch is a handsome fella ! They are ALL beautiful! Great video!
Thanks for this vid, very informative and you make everything super easy to understand. I already knew my boy was just a normal red but I learned a lot!
Thanks for this, you explained this subject well and the end wording is the best. ♥️
I have watched this video 20 times and I will watch it 20 more, love the beardies :D
The cat was enjoying the vid as much as I am!
We just put a deposit down on a visual hypo her trans. They're all citrus tigers and the one picked out seems to have a little more yellow. We'll get our baby right before Christmas 😃. My kids are very excited as well to have a new buddy but this one is our first so I've subscribed to learn as much as I can!!!
Beautiful and very handsome dragons! Thanks for the informative video. A friend was unable to care for a beardy and i acquired him/her being i had the space
They are all beautiful dragons.
You are so passionate about beardies. Its great!!!
I really needed this video. Thank you so very much for the lesson and for sharing your beautiful lizzy kids with us. :)
love your videos and your dragons. super helpful since I am a new beardie owner thank you so much
I know this is old, but I am the proud owner of a pure normal beardy, great eater, a little pudgy, but he is such a sweet baby boy. Had him for three years, got him when he was only a few weeks old!
Hey I appreciate you showing your beardies affection :) And I like their names!
The folks who worked with the original stock that showed up in US are still around. I worked with Bob, Chris, and Phillipe when the yellow showed up. We called hypomels "pastels" because when they hatched, they are pastel greenish blueish pastel glow to them. We later came to understand the animals were hypomelanistic (not reduced color btw; reduced black i.e "amelanistic light"). Color is not fixed and can not be line bred exactly how most people understand.. it's kinda different.
My american leatherback is named torch because of her odd blue bar and black coloring, very beautiful
At 22:38 you reminded me of that and good on you for rescuing that beardie hopefuly we can see more of the now tame "most aggressive beardie" hope to see more vids and if theres anymore tips and such for bearded dragons then i hope to hear of them from you.
Oh darn I should have said something about this is my info video, you know a lot and helped me confirm it was a leatherback, thank you!
Your paradox is beautiful 😍
RIGHTTT his paradox, duner an leather back but that paradox
Hi Michel Behrends! I am getting a baby bearded dragon soon. Your bearded dragons and other animals are beautiful, awesome, and very nice with handling. You have inspired me to also be a reptile owner when I grow up and work with all kinds of reptiles and animals. I wanted to get a bearded dragon with cool designs and colors but mostly red because it is my favorite color. I loved Casper in your video, he was probally my favorite color in all of the ones you showed. Im planning on getting that kind, well it depends if where I get my new beardie from if they have it. If you see this comment, can you please make a video of like a daily routine for the whole day or make a video on what you do everyday for all of your bearded dragons, what things you use like lights and decorations, food, tips for new bearded dragon owners (like me) and etc. Love you Michel Behrends and your animals!
Love these vids! They have all helped me with my beardie and now hes a monster!
they said things like that to you wow i kiss mine and she will stay with me for all most 8 hours a day if i let her and was so happy to see your videos to learn more things thanks so much
I totally knew it was you ! I watch you on tic Tok and your voice was soo familiar I had no idea you were inter reptiles also !
Thank you for this video, I recently rescued a Bearded Dragon from my local pet shop that was in poor living conditions, which is my first dragon ever. Now they told me this dragon was around a year old, and quote a "high yellow" beardie. From what I can tell from your video he is a hypo trans due to his translucent claws and spikes, along with his solid black eyes. He also has a yellow head and spine until it meets his tail, with purpleish sides and raised scales, so I'm still unsure exactly what morph combo he is.
Barney is absolutely GORGEOUS!!!
your videos are so interesting omg, it makes me want to watch more and get myself a dragon
Your pets are really cool especially the colorful ones
This video is absolutely awesome Michel!! :) I now believe I have myself a Leatherback Dunner!!! :)
I'm planning to get a bearded dragon so thank you so much for this information. Definitely subscribed
I was lost as to what I had gotten because I had played the Petsmart lottery with my beardie. These videos actually helped me to finally identify him as a hypo trans American smoothie. I've no real plans to breed him, but the info is handy to know. Thanks!
wow i would say you won the petsmart lottery. I got mine hypo leatherback there. Definitely worth $42.
Beautiful collection you got Michel
She trusts you so much.
