@@TheBlackIdentety Why would you call me a clown? no reason to insult someone. I'm just reporting the prices Japan, a year ago. What kind of horrible person are you?
This was the 1st Japanese whiskey i ever had, thanks to it being an honerable mention on one of those early "top 10" lists on this channel as a recommend.
Honestly haven’t been watching yalls channel for a long time cause i stopped drinking whiskey for a long time but this popped up on my feed and this is the only bottle i have. Got it because i celebrated a sale at my old job and remembered back when i was religiously watching in 2017 cheers
I just bought a bottle of this Hibiki today. I can’t wait to try some tonight. I’m starting to expand my palate of whiskies. Thanks for the video guys. Awesome. Cheers
Love, love, love me some Hibiki neat! Thanks for doing this one. Suggestion: freeze some fresh blackberries and use a few as ice for your Hibiki… something magical (to me) happens every time.
Do they have to be freshly frozen or do you use just a bag of frozen blackberries? This sounds really good and just found a bottle this morning for a decent price 😁
@@nudge_1157I have used fresh frozen, but I see no reason why bagged frozen wouldn’t work. I just think it would bleed a bit more, and maaaaaaaybe overpower the taste a bit. Give it a try and let me know how you liked it… I am curious!
I was in a bowling league when I was 14 (1992) with some of my best friends. We were all Faith No More fans and named our team Jizzlobber after the song on their Angel Dust album. I knew what Jizzlobber meant back then....but my 12 year old friends on my team didn't! The name stuck the entire year and even won a trophy at the end of the year where they called us up by our team name!! LOL
I live in Japan. Hibiki used to sparsely allocated, but now this has disappeared off the shelves here in the last 5 years and the price has nearly doubled. I believe the smoke is coming from the Hakushu distillery. At ¥15,000 ($100), I’m choosing the slightly less expensive, no age statement Yamazaki. The Yamazaki 12 year is nearly double the price of Harmony and that’s a not a contest.
There is an entire floor of a building in Shinbashi, near all the big name shops, that has an amazing collection all for sale. Hibiki was reasonably priced there for regular, 12yr and 30yr were more outrageous.
@@jordanebacherJapanese lacks many of the regulations that other Whiskey producing countries have, so there are several Japanese companies that unfortunately blend or wholly import and relabel imported whiskeys as Japanese. However, for the premium brands like Hibiki or Yamazaki there's no evidence that they do that. They are distilled exclusively in Japan.
I just paid 67.99 for it. Never had it before but Costco doesn’t get them that often. So when I seen it and knowing they only had a couple boxes I grabbed it. They had the 100th anniversary was 127.99 but I heard it was the same juice but had a pretty bottle and case. I just wanted the juice. I’ll try it this weekend.
It's been about 7 or 8 years since I first had this but it's still one of my favourites. Too bad it's so expensive, I just can't really justify it most of the time.
This was my second ever Japanese whisky. The first being Hibiki Blossom Harmony. Which I am head over heels for. But Japanese Harmony is very good and very different from Blossom Harmony.
I've been building an Infinity Bottle in a Hibiki bottle for a while now, and I agree, it's the perfect bottle for it. I've been writting the names on the side, but didn't think to add the levels. maybe next time.
This was my introduction to Japanese whiskey a few years ago at an awesome bar in New Orleans. (Bartonique). Have to be the only person who tases it and thinks Cajun food. 😂 I recently found this at Sam's Club in Illinois for $34.81 a bottle. My wife's suggestion to buy the last 3 they had was very well received.
Love yalls videos! I had the opportunity to visit the Nikka distillery here in Japan by Sendai and what a great experience that was. As you alluded … their roots are from Scotch with their founder traveling to Scotland to learn how to make whiskey and bringing back that knowledge and put their spin on it. Its a beautiful area and facility with a cool story.
My s.o gave me this as a a birthday gift couple of weeks back. Really nice whisky, smooth and gentle to drink with a lot of flavors there if you take the time to enjoy it. Great to have when you arent in the mood for an aggressive scotch
I’ve had regular Hibiki, 17, 21, Blossom, Masters Select and “old”. My favorite is 17 and least favorite Masters Select, “old” was too different to call it the same. It was very oaky, but makes sense seeing how it was the first iteration of Hibiki.
I've had Suntory Toki and I've had SO many people tell me to try this. I have Yamazaki 12, and Hibiki available at the liquor store right down the road from me. I'd love to have either, I just don't know if I can justify ~120 for either right now.

Do you think Japanese whisky is better drunk at room temp? I usually put the bottle in the freezer for a few hours before drinking because it gives it a really nice mouth feel and the flavour is more interesting as it warms up over time while sipping.
This stuff is brilliant and has unfortunately, skyrocketed $40 in the Canadian market. I’ve seen it in Costco in Washington state for $85 which converted, is a great price.
Nope, God's honest truth. I also got 4 bottles of bowmore 12 for $10 each. Bakers 7 for $10, Jameson 12yr old for $2.50 each, yes two dollars fifty cents each! I go there a lot now. Sometimes I find half price bottles but nothing like I did that one time
Rexxxx. Wrong time slot! But I suppose a review right now is better than waiting for you to get it right, just for it to end up being a Hibiki Harmony review. I would accept a bottle of this if it were gifted to me though. Doesn't even need to be a full bottle, as a matter of fact, I'd prefer it if it was empty. I needs me an infinity bottle.
I love this whisky, but the current price ($100+ a bottle in my area) makes it a really tough purchase. I could get two bottles of Glendronach 12 for the same price!
Hibiki always escapes me with it being above my threshold price. I almost pulled the trigger on it despite myself from your original video, but settled for Santory's Toki as the affordable runner up.

I just forked over 90 dollars for my bottle today. Other stores were asking for 110 to 150, if they even had it.
