Nice build. The ironman front struts have 20 mm more downtravel if you find they top out too much with the lift springs. I ran a transfer box skid plate on my old one which I would recommend as it's pretty exposed.
I'll have to remember about the Ironman stuts. More down travel would be good. And yes definitely going to need more bash guards underneath. The transfer case survived the trip, but did a bit of other damage under there.
I weighed it the other day and found out that while it is under GVM, it's way closer than I would like. Will have to see what I can do to save a little weight.
Thanks. Running 245 75 16 tyres. And I used Chemz Black Zinc paint for the sub frame. CRC do a black Zinc too, and I've used that a fair bit too. I find the zinc offers a bit more protection.
Hi Sam. Great setup. My Suzuki is similar to yours but I have the 3.2 litre and has a 2" lift and steel wheels with Falken AT3s. I left it down the South Island for a whole summer and flew back and forwards and explored most of the island. We had double bed setup in the rear for the two of us. Its surprising how much gear you can get tin these. Here's the link, I used an aluminum swimming pool fence gate for the basis of the bed ua-cam.com/video/--JV4TNy4QQ/v-deo.html

I remember going for a ride in the SJ in the hill above the Hikurangi Sawmill
Those were the days! Is that the time we got it stuck in the creek and had to walk back?
@@SwampChook I dont think so? I remember getting stuck in an Argo somewhere?
Good job Sam, nicely done. P.s. I hope that you were able to get the bog hole smell out from the Suzuki after your miss hap on the Safari : )
Thanks. And yeah I sure did. However I have managed to get the carpets wet another couple times since then. The door seals are pretty terrible.
Nice set up. It must be close to GVM with all the extras.
I haven't weighed it yet. But from what I have worked out and how it feels it's not over. But I am planning on running it over a weighbridge soon.

Well done. I've seen you using this vehicle in subsequent and wondered if you might upgrade like this. Good choices.
You still running COOPERS?
Thanks! I've gone with Hankook Dynapro MT2 this time, so far I'm pretty happy with them.
Just brilliant! what tyre size? and what paint did you used for the sub frame?
