Here's an Easter egg: Sometimes one of the phones in the office will ring. It will have random dialogue but one of the pieces of dialogue is a person confirming an order of hundreds of cardboard boxes. If you interact with the phone a second time the dialogue will thank you for confirming the order. If you restart the game after that the office will actually be filled with hundreds of cardboard boxes.
You can't see it because of the dirt on the sign, but the sign in the escape pod ending states that both Stanley and The Narrator must be present for the escape pod to function.
I'm pretty late on this, but I'm pretty sure the mystery man is Stanley himself. Because in the "true" ending earnt by unplugging the telephone after riding the lift, the narrator realises "you're not stanley at all", and instead brings Stanley himself, who uses the same model as the mystery man, and stays there until the credits end, and you inevitably reset.
I know I'm 6 years late to the party on this one, but its getting a console release this year so hopefully I can use that as an excuse for sharing this wonderful game! I hope you like the video! I know its a long one, but believe me, it could have been longer! 2 favourite endings -insanity ending (Stanley finds himself running throuuugh the same looping hallway over and over again until it drives him made and he jumps out a window onto the busy street below, a women sees the body, thinks nothing of it, and contines her busy day) -museum ending (I can't remember how to do this one but you eventually teleport into a museum area and it shows concept art for scrapped endings, old endings, ETC)
For the museum ending, you obey the Narrator until you get to the side room saying (escape) with an arrow. You go there, and keep walking. Eventually, before death, you go to the museum.
I wonder if they just had several unrelated/random people test/play the game and tested possible unusual possibilities that way... or they just were really efficient at breaking their own rules.
Some of the endings are inspired by bugs in the original HL2 mod. For example, in the mod, there was a game breaking bug where the player could trap themselves in Stanley's office at the beginning of the game. As a result, it officially became an ending in the remake.
I like how in the Ultra Deluxe all those Secrets have a little extra touch. Like how you can activate dog mode at the white board or how you can put your bucket in the escape pod to get a replacement bucket. And they also remaked some like the disco ending.
The Easter egg man is a reference to Stanley’s original player model which was a white shirt NPC from half life 2, being that Gmod was the original foundation and first appearance of the game. In the opening cutscene of the gmod version you see him in front of his computer.
Actually with the baby game, after playing it for 2 hours, the narrator adds a puppy that you have to save. The 2 buttons are about 2½ meters apart lol
HOW COULD YOU NOT SHOW JUMPING INTO THE ELEVATOR SHAFT! That’s the coolest part about that ending! Getting to explore the HL2 mod version of the office? Genius!
You forgot to mention that in the Portal part, it's possible to break the puzzle by taking the radio with you, putting it by the door, stacking the block ontop of the radio and stepping on the button. The door will open and the block will roll to the other side. Once you close the door the narrator will rant about how you managed to break even that and how you'd best get comfortable with the big red button.
I think in some weird way this game is about depression. The out of body ending, where the narrator watches as Stanley becomes unresponsive and gets very worried, like a friend of someone who's depressed. Or staying in your office, or the phone ending when Stanley picks up the phone. The whole game's story of running away into the real world and being free, or the nuke ending where players can scramble to stop it after their mistake, or accept it and die. This game is sad and beautiful- unless I'm reading too much into it.
My favourite Easter egg is if you select credits from the menu and then type “vinh” while they are rolling. Either that or typing “secret” while on the menu and then clicking the credits.
16:50 in the second most secret easter egg in the series you cna actually put the cube through the door if you glitch the radio into it and the narrorator will make fun of you i remember finding this back in 2013 i love this game
This game's narrative and the topic about free will, determinism and 4th wall breaking is actually getting used as an example in my university's curriculum in game lab and philosophy. :')
You don't have to start over if you get the "white board ending". The blue office connects to the left and right choice doors like any other playthrough
I remember watching this game on UA-cam a long time ago and I loved it, I thought it was hilarious. This video is like a really good nostalgia trip for me, thank you!
I also discovered this game from UA-cam. I first saw the old mod version when markiplier played it. 10 year old me loved it as much as 20 year old me does now. Can't wait for ultra deluxe!
1:12 The 'Mystery Man' uses the same model as stanley so it couldn't be the narrator. I believe that the 'Mystery Man' is actually a parallel into the confusion ending.
This game gives me the creeps, I’ve seen every last Easter egg and ending discovered so far and I’m aware there is no jumpscare about to pop up or creepy image in a room but for some reason it still creeps me the hell out sometimes
Your trapped alone inside a complex mysterious building that’s able to warp time and space of course, it’s scary. Where did everyone go? Where there any other workers to begin with? Is the narrator lying? Is he trying to get rid of you? So many questions
It honestly made sense considering the actual trailer aka The Raphael Parable. Raphael complains about the game and one of his many complaints is that the Narrator says Stanley's name too much
Dang, I thought I had already seen a lot of the Stanley Parable easter eggs, but quite a few of these I've never seen before. I think I'll have to fire up the game again and try some of these...except the 4 hour egg you showed at the end. Also, I have great stamina down below
For the mystery guy, I was poking around the museum ending (idk if that's what it's called but imma stick with it), there was a computer that said something along the lines of (this isnt the right number, I know, just bear with me) "employees clocked out: 437" "employees clocked in: 2". The mystery man is definitely NOT Stanley.
Fun Fact: On the ultra deluxe edition if you have the bucket and go to the escape bay Stanley will put the bucket on the escape pod and not him, the door will close and the bucket will go escape, and when the game restart and on the pillar where is another bucket and when you grab it the Narrator will say: Don't lost this one again
I wouldn’t call the Minecraft/Portal thing an Easter Egg, it was my first ending. It’s like calling the ending where you listen to the narrator an Easter egg.
*I love this videogame!* 17:50 I even got the 4 hours ending 😅😅 I recorded it and everything (I'm probablly not going to try that ending again, that's why! 😂) Like man!
Fun fact about the music once you click the light bulb button and hear the music That music was used twice But one is no known by a lot of people It was in the demo
Has anyone mentioned that he didn't notice that "console > bark" in "The WHITEBOARD Ending"? It's not just there for decoration or randomness, it's a hint. Spoiler below... On the console you can type "bark", press enter, resume the game, and the command causes a barking sound to play whenever you press any Interact key (E or left mouse button for example).
There is another Easter egg at the white board ending on pc it says console bark on the white board but on console it has dog mode were when you click I makes a dog noise
I feel like the Raphael easter egg thing (where the Narator repeats Stanley) isn't properly explained, so here: In this video ( ua-cam.com/video/AZ-IcS7mRSk/v-deo.html ), The Narrator reads out an email The Stanley Parable team got from a guy named Raphael. In this email, Raphael goes on about how the game didn't have enough free will and emotion, says some mean stuff about women, and says *he hates how the Narrator says Stanley so much* . In response to this, the Narrator pretends to revamp the entire game, making it obviously a joke to make fun of and shame Raphael, but in a light-hearted way. At the end, the Narrator repeats the word Stanley to "piss Raphael off", basically. So when you type Raphael, you piss off Raphael. :)
Also if you do sv_cheat 1 in the console command, the devs put a Red "Why?????" Also in the Ultra Deluxe Edition, this is replaced by Firewatch and Rocket League and no you can no longer get in the Serious Room since the game has shifted from a Source Engine game to Unity.
Fun fact: while i was playing the Stanley parable on the forklift going to the phone if you look close at the other door you can see a man walk through there as well cant believe no one else found this
Firewatch and Rocket League are the games that show up in the Ultra Deluxe version. There are a few differences between the Ultra Deluxe version and the original covered in this video, one of which is the games that show up in that ending.
The reason for the Facepunch logo isn't a homage to Facepunch studios themselves, but more to the Forums. They were a huge hub for everything source game development related, and the Stanley Parable devs, like much of the Source community, hail from there.
