Yep
Yup!

Dang people still doing whippets!?!? That’s crazy. I remember people doing this when I was growing up and thought how stupid it was. I hope she gets better and I’m glad she’s spreading the word.
It's the same gas you get at the dentist to put you in twilight sleep. The danger actually comes from severe vitamin B12 deficiency from using them over time. They damage the B12 cycle that used by neurons to rebuild their myelin sheath. Once in a while isn't that bad and isn't like inhaling duster or something. It was the frequency of use that did this to her. One day of no vitamin B12 isn't going to damage the nerves, but over time it can paralyze you.
Its not stupid
Very brave of her to come out publicly. Hope this helps others not to do partake. Even if you don’t suffer paralysis, it definitely affects your brain negatively.
Wippit is nitrous oxide
Whippet is a dog
I was so confused until I read that . I was thinking " worms " , as they can be neurotoxic , she caught worms and then .

in all technicality nothing is entirely safe and harmless, since i was born I've seen several stories of people dying from drinking too much water in too short a time period, like that wee for a wii contest a ways back.
some things just take less, but nothing is just universally, unambiguously, absolutely perfect, it's just not possible to have infinite anything and not have an issue.

Oh my gosh I had no idea this was even a thing! I had no idea people even did this. I hope she gets better.
I refused to use this when in the nightclub scene in 2009-2010. Nitrous oxide, also known as laughing gas, messes with the vitamin B12 system and through that pathway can cause serious neurological problems. People who are not getting sufficient vitamin B12 due to diet or absorption issues would be even more affected. How many people even know their baseline B12 status before using this? This is a serious drug with serious consequences for human health, and I've been saying that since 2010. I'm so glad she is raising awareness! I hope she has a speedy recovery.
You have just made aware and possibly saved lives. 😊
@@user-rg2hj7ex6p Thank you for saving me having to look it up. I was wondering why she had such a severe experience. I did whippets back in the day, and didn't have such an experience. Weird. You take a jab at vegans but not humans over 50? The most b12 deficient group?
YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY CORRECT!!!
The government needs to stop these local gas stations from selling these kinds of dangerous drugs. It's no reason for them to have on their self. And they can't say they don't know what they using it for. The foreigners who live here and own gas stations sell various kinds of drugs.when people open illegal smoke shops, they get shut down by cops. But the gas stations never get shut down or raided. But if you buy the drug and the police see you, they arrest you. Businessmen selling illegal drugs and to the children in the community. It's like the police are in cohoots

Whippets are a breed of dog. This story is about *_whip-its._*
As in the chargers for making whipped cream made by ISI.
The founder of Zappos got into a nitrous binge during the summer of 2020 and somehow locked himself inside his mansion and it caught fire and he burned to death. Afterwards the singer Jewel published a letter she had written to him expressing her concerns for his safety because his behavior had become stranger and stranger over the weeks or months that he binged on nitrous oxide.
The weird thing is that I also got into a binge of whip-its At the same time period during the lockdown. I was ordering the 100 packs at about $40 or $50 a box, and I was going through several 100 packs a week.
I always thought the lack of oxygen and the different gas simply made you feel dizzy and euphoric. But apparently it's a dissociative drug that actually messes around with endogenous morphine production or opioid receptors. Its probably just as dangerous as heroin or opium.
Praying for your recovery 🕊️🙏🏼❤️🙏🏼
Nitrous oxide aka laughing gas is deadly. In the late 70's a dentist's son took a tank of laughing gas from his father's dental office. The son and some friends got into a car and opened the canister releasing the gas. They eventually laughed themselves to death. Because even though you're breathing you're breathing the gas not oxygen thus suffocating your body of the life needed oxygen. That's why dentists who administer laughing gas never give 100% laughing gas but a per centage of oxygen and gas.
Thanks for the info
Wow

Jokers smile gas comes to mind.
Absolutely, usually 73:30, some can depending on the situation give 50:50.
It causes B12 deficiency which damages the nerves. The damage can be irreversible.

@@blazel462 Common sense is a fuzzy thing. Living with brain damages is horrible. Your brain cells and synapses are dead or rerouted causing chaos in your body.
Corresponding organs to your dead brain cells and synapses don't work properly or are dead. The pain is excruciating at times.
Your brain feels over loaded and weird because it's not functioning properly.
You don't feel parts of your body or body functions,, you can't regulate your body temperature, you may have to force yourself to eat because you have no desire to eat, drink, be hungry, be full or satisfied.
There's a lot more I didn't write. Her situation may be different.

Wow! That's crazy! People try any and everything to escape reality. I hope she recovers fully.
People go to school for 12 years and learn nothing.
Because we don't teach what kids should learn about life and what's on the street. It would be interesting to be a fly on the wall in a high school classroom to see exactly what goes on in our schools. But that's been that way for years. Warnings against drugs, alcohol or sex was not taught many years ago, either. They didn't talk about unwanted pregnancy, driving without a license, crime, prison or sexually transmitted diseases. They never talked about broken marriages or child support, abusive spouses or mental illnesses. They taught us history, geometry and algebra, geography, musical instruments, government, home economics (cooking/sewing), art appreciation, French, composition and physical education (running, exercise). Nothing for the real world. No classes on smoking and how it destroys lungs, or alcoholism. Nothing on how to save money, how to invest or how to buy real estate. There are rudimentary classes that would help kids navigate life. I wish I could have had the classes I mentioned.

This isn't "karma". Karma is something you get for harming someone else. Karma is deserved. She didn't deserve this. Nobody deserves to be paralyzed for experimenting with something like this. How about if she passed out due to anorexia and got brain damage from her head hitting the pavement? It's no different. Sure, bad things can happen when you aren't good at taking care of yourself but unless you hurt someone, steal or ruin someone's life, you don't deserve karma.
