    It is a shame that in a country like the US people have to loose body parts and almost die because they can not afford medical insurance. Shame, shame on all of the super rich insurance company's for putting money ahead of life and limb. Someone needs to put a STOP to all this greed.

      +Bendytrendy The Conservative Almost 1 billion people in the world has universal free government health insurance, and hundreds of millions have affordable insurance but still have access to a public option in the case they can't afford private insurance. Even mexico, the country that conservatives point to as a welfare state ridden with crime and drugs is nearing the achievement of every citizen covered by comprehensive health insurance, with the majority on public insurance and the rest on private. The United States is the _only_ industrialized country that does _not_ offer free/affordable health insurance to every legal citizen.
      The industrialized world works for the citizens, and the united states works for big corporations. Thank god trumpcare didn't pass, becasue if it did our uninsured and underinsured would surpass the insured.

      JoAnn Kirk Obamacare actually does provide health insurance for low income people. It's required by law to have health insurance in the US, and if you can't afford it you often qualify for very cheap/free insurance. She most likely just never signed up.

A couple days later she had to take me back cause my symptoms had gotten so much worse. We seen the same doctor again & even though I was like 8 at the time I'll never forget what he said to my grandma. "Oh that antibiotic is worthless against Strep but I didn't think you could afford the antibiotic she actually needs." To this day I've yet to see my nanny as mad as she was that day. Vincent Cuttolo Op isn't... It's the truth, unfortunately... For some in the USA... You just have to honorably not receive care and die so your family doesn't have to support your broke in debt ass or so you don't become a homeless bum being the "problem" with society in America. Fun moral and financial choices right there... Not the reality for all, but for many it is.

    I learned this in health class bus since she hasn’t been sick in years, her immune system wasn’t strong because of the years of not being sick. Being sick is better than being not being sick in a long time. Her immune system didn’t get strong over the years, they got weaker. When she got strep throat. Her immune system was to weak to fight it off and it gave up. I don’t know if this fully true but I know the immune system part is true. Don’t hate on me for being wrong.

    I'm sorry this is ridiculous that someone would wait so long to get medical treatment because they don't have medical insurance. I'm sure the cost of the ambulance is a lot more expensive than a bottle of penicillin. I rather file for bankruptcy if I can't pay the bill than to be close to death's door. I have had strep throat on more than one occasion too and there is no way I would wait such a illness like this out!! Maybe she has a high threshold for pain, that's the only thing I can think of for all of this to happen to her.

    • @Susanc06
      @Susanc06 7 років тому +1

      Jeremy smith What I'm saying is that she must of had a high threshold for pain. Because now she finally went to the doctor and the bill is probably over a hundred thousand or more. Regardless, it's sad someone has to feels this way in the first place and will risk dying over going to seek medical helped because they can't afford it.

      susan c. The video doesn't say if she knew. I would doubt she new since one must have a steep culture done first. Yes, many people get Strept and don't realize it. It runs its course without any problems. Then others have severe illness. Like chronic kidney disease and needing heart valve replacement. Sepsis, etc. Best to get it treated. Doesn't sound like she had a clue.

      susan c well when you don't have money waiting it out is the best option. Not everyone can just pay for things Willy nilly. She didn't have money to pay them. So don't just assume that because you can do something means that everyone can and will.

I called the doctor immediately and he told me to get to the ER as fast as I could. Luckily everything was OK, I got intervenous antibiotics. They gave me so much antibiotics I gained 20 pounds in three days just from the fluids. Thank God I was OK. The doctor said I did not look like I belong in the hospital, only the test results said I belong there.

But now that I’ve seen and found this video, I didn’t realize that it could get this bad. So I’m thankful I was okay last year in April, literally on Easter Day, the weird part is this year, on the same exact day (even if Easter was a different day) I felt sick again like the year before. But I just had a bad cold and I lost my voice. I am so sorry for this happening to you and for anyone else.
