I ended up buying this here in Austin last week. Had only ridden 250cc bikes before ( never rode in England before I moved) and holy shit this thing is no joke, it pulls like a train. Haven't seen too many reviews talk about this for a beginner bike but the power in 1st gear and how responsive it is to your inputs is an eye opener. At speed it is fantastic and handles like a dream, but you'll really get caught out if you aren't smooth in the lower gears.
Wow a real bike review and not just another kiddie/lip service review. Great job. Honest opinions make all the difference. I personally sorta like the bike but the profile of the naked Sport Glide looks way better. Keep it real :)
With reference to the location of the speedo/tach, I humbly suggest looking on ebay for a twin clock bracket for a Sporty or old Dyna - it'll mount straight onto the handlebar topclamp....... the bracket is £75 new, so with a couple of covers and some rubbers, some wire to extend the wiring an hour or two with tools and a soldering iron - problem solved.... you'll have to cover the access panel in the tank top but for maybe £200........ On the other hand who looks at clocks anyway other than for speed camera signs ?
Early in the video you had complained about the shocks...Do you know about the adjustable mono shock under the seat? You set the strength to your own weight👍. I personally love this bike and I'm 5' 4" in height, kinda short. You look very tall and the bike looks too small for you,its funny to watch you take off with your feet extended out and up in the air lol. The license plate looks like a mobile billboard lol. The only thing that bothered me was that the bike looked as though you had went mud riding with it before you decided to make the video😳😒. Here in the U.S.A.,the new Low Rider is set at about $15,000... and the new Low Rider S which you have is set about $18,000. I'm glad you guys are riding Harleys and thanks for the video, keep living the dream 👍😎.
I like this style of review. I don't need to see lots of road riding. I especially like the recording of the bike pulling off as part of the review including power roll ons and how the exhaust actually sounds. That 6th gear up the hill is epic! You can also see how the rider sits on the bike and sensible comments about the back brake on a Harley not being so bright. And little things like the stand being inaccessible wtih Mids, something I noticed on the Streetbob. Good work guys, lad could do with reducing the, "Erm"s. Was it filmed on your estate;O)
Glad you like the style! I think that too much go pro footage can be a little boring and repetitive! And in regards to the erms, i didn’t even realise so thanks for pointing it out, I’ll try say erm less in the next video 😂

Hi there guys, I’ve finally went for a test ride yesterday. I am 6.2 tall and I did fine it confortable. Is very responsive and moves very easy. Coming from a Ducati monster 821 it took me some time to get familiarised with the seating position and the controls but it was a blast to ride. It was a very happy ride, meaning I couldn’t stop smiling all the way to the point I didn’t want to take it back to the shop. It has power (which is what I want) and is very responsive at all times. It was not raining when I took it out but the road was wet and I was all good with these tires. The gear box was really amazing and I could put it on neutral all the time at only 13 miles on the clock. It really was a nice ride. One question... does this motorbike come with a USB port? I’ve forgot to ask, thanks.
Oliver Bermejo Hidalgo Thanks for your feedback! The standard tyres on the Heritage Classic are rubbish on wet roads in comparison. I didn’t check whether it had a USB port; I’ll have a look today and let you know.
Cool review. I love my LRS in nearly every way. I installed a set of Rineheart slip-ons and it sounds amazing. Went silver and it's gorgeous. You're looking for the term "wrinkle" black on the finish and it is incredibly durable and, in my opinion, looks spot on.
Do you know if the wrinkle black piece for the dials and the side rear fender can be replaced with something more ‘posh’ looking? On camera, these pieces look cheap imo too. It’s the only thing I dont like on this bike besides the licence plate, but that can be repositioned. Im going to see it in person end of the month, so maybe it changes my mind when I see it with my own eyes.
Great review!! So This vs Fatbob vs Streetbob for handling, comfortability and everyday riding, including some highway? Which one handles the best and is most comfortable? If you can list them in your order of preference. Just curious what you and others think. Thank you again.
Bruce Wayne OK. Handling 1. Street 2. Fat (just) 3. Low... Comfort 1. Low 2. Fat 3. Street... Highway 1. Low 2. Street 3. Fat ... If I had to have one of them Street Bob.
@@MrDarcy-OlMan Thank you for the reply , I appreciate the feedback. I have not ridden any of these, but they are my favs based on looks and performance reviews. The Streetbob is my 1st pick if I'm just going on looks. The lines flow so much smoother on the Streetbob.
Much prefer the rear guard and licence plate mount of the Street Bob, The bars also give a better view behind. I think I will stick with it and keep the change :) I can also see most wanting to fit forwards like the original Low Rider S. Good Review.
That finish is "crinkle black" 👍. I test ride this demo bike @ sycamores the other week. I liked it apart from I felt I needed more leg room (I'm 5'11"). Biggest problem though was the non existent rear brake. My sportster rear brake is 10 times better and that's saying something 😂. Great review 👍

Another great review Gents . I actually test drove the Low Rider S this weekend in Cologne and share the same sentiment when it comes to the placement of the odometer so low that you need to completely take your eyes off the road to check your speed . But I loved how nimble this bike felt . For me it’s the bike to get if you liked the street Bob but wished the rear tyre was thicker, fuel tank bigger and the steering nimbler . I hope the placement of the number plate changes soon there .
order on 20/09/19 *** 8 weeks to wait... with extra** H&V big radius 2 ,dyno flush software, cruise control- kauana heated gripts, harley mustache engine guard but the way -what the best way to clean HD ..can you make a video about it ..Thanks
Giora Oscar Awesome! You will love it! When my Harley was new, I used to clean it with a slightly damp cloth, but once it’s really dirty, I use soapy water and hose off (but not jet wash).
Nice review, thanx. I came to the same conclusion with regards to the mirrors, the breaks and the the position of your head when reading the instruments (you can't look on the road at the same time). Well, not perfect but it still is a hell of a bike and it looks dope in my opinion.
Thanks Macie! It would be OK but not the best. Because of the mid controls your knees would be up higher than your butt. Biggest Softails are Heritage Classic, Breakout and FatBoy
Keeping my FatBoy I think, love the low rider s but can't live with the mid mounts they make the riding position feel so cramped. HD should offer mids or forwards from factory to fit bigger or smaller riders.
Nice bike, sounds amazing with these slip ons. But I hate that licence plate just stuck there in the back. It looks completely misplaced and destroys the rear view. If it could be mounted to the side it would look better.
@@MrDarcy-OlMan I decided to put it on my shortlist besides the Fat Boy and Breakout. Looked at it in more detail and it has amazing features. If I go for this, do you think the licence plate can be mounted on the side?
Nice review. Didn't care much for the background music 🤣. Those slips sound good. I just bought a low rider s but I haven't even ridden it since I've been travelling for work. I can't wait to give it a good thrashing as soon as I get back home
I'd like to have a Harley like this or Fat Boy/Bob as a second bike. But the price/spec ratio on HD is off-putting, I just checked and Low Rider S cost 23k euro here! It's the price of two better equipped and better spec motorcycles. For 23k I expect adjustable suspension, superb breaks, heated grips, cruis control, basically top everything.
The Harleys do have adjustable rear suspension. Some things they spec bikes up with aren’t worth having imo. When you have a Harley, with that thunderous V-Twin, mountains of torque and effortless relaxed acceleration, you see the value. 👊🏼
@@MrDarcy-OlMan only preload is udjustable, right? Which is the basic adjustment any cheap bike has. I'm sure engines are great on Harley, but for the price I'ld expect more. I'm not saying the bikes are bad, just significantly overpriced imo. And as I said I would consider one if they were reasonably priced. (Good review by the way!)
Watched this review again after watching your review of the 2022 Low Rider S. I still like the 20/21 Low Rider S best. Having rode a 202 and a 2021 LR S I fell in love with the bike. Have not ridden the 2022 LRS yet but I do like the over all look and design of the 2020/21 best. But the higher rear shock and larger engine on the 2022 is a big improvement/plus over the 2020/21. Did they longate the grate of the front forks over the 2020/21 on the 2022 ? I still prtferthe 2020/21 over the 2022 model. I do not like what they did with the speedo/tach on the 2022 but wished they had two clocks on the handlebars, one speedo one tach. The one small clock kinda looks cheap IMO Anyway, now looking seriously for a 2020/21 model to actually purchase with low miles. I think, rightly or wrongly that the 2020/21 will in time become "collector Models". I will have to sell my HD SuperLow 1200T to be able to get a 2020/21 HD LR S but hey what can I say. One thing overall I like abou Harley Motorcycles is that they are basic machines, belt drives (les maintenance) air cooled engines (also less maintenance). They do have ABS but no traction control. They are truly Retro Bikes. What do you think in my observations on the 2020/21 versus the 2022 and Harely in general ? In my twiligth years and a 20/21 LRS will probably be the last big ticket motorcycle Iwill buy. I will send you an e-mail of a bike I am seriously considering if I can negotiate a mutual agreeing deal with the seller. Thanks and love your YT Channel.
Thanks buddy. Saw the email and the bike looks nice! Personally I prefer the 2022 117 version but it’s not massively different. Both are great bikes. You’ve gotta go with your heart and get the bike that ticks your boxes. The 114 is still a meaty engine!
Anyone looking at this bike, he’s dead on about the speedo and tach they are way down. Fortunately there are relocation kits from companies like SpeedKings Cycle. I’m switching mine soon.
Sir, how tall are you. I really like and want this bike. I'm 6'3" with boots 6'4" . I love the handling of this bike but I may have to roll with the Breakout. Your suggestions. How did you fair with the mid controls/pegs?
I had to test ride one to see what all the hype is all about, but I couldn't get one with the mid controls that come with it and would have to change them to forwards. As for the bars, they gave me a strain on my shoulders after about 15min and put my hands in an awkward position. It's a nice bike but for taller guys alot of work is needed but anyone below 5,11 I think it would be perfect. Excellent review as always and as for the mirrors like all my bikes, flip them upside down 😁🤙
@@MrDarcy-OlMan I sure did and had a test ride, she rides amazing and reminded me of a naked sports bike. It's a bike I would own only for fun but not a main bike. I remember when I first rode it, I keep looking to see where the headlight is LOL.
I just traded my 2016 dyna lowrider s for a 2021 softail lowrider s. The only complaint I have whatsoever is the footpeg location was much less "scrunched up" on the dyna version.
Hey Lads! Great review. The Low Rider S has always been one of my favorite Harley's. I remember when they phased out the Dynas, everybody was losing it! Truth is, the Softail is a better platform. I tend to like the Sport Glide as well, but the Low Rider S has a better front end and better brakes. The wrinkle finish on the dial housing and other places can be polarizing, but overall it's not bad looking and is very durable. The only thing spoiling the look of the bike is that ridiculous number plate. How stupid to make a motorcycle have to wear that fucked up thing! Anyway, great work, fellas. Will you be doing the Fat Boy at some point in the near future? Just curious. I like that one, too. Cheers!
Hi there guys! Quick question.... I am going to test ride it this Saturday if it doesn't rain. I am 6.2, do you think I am too tall for this motorbike?
Oliver Bermejo Hidalgo I am 6’3 and it felt plenty big enough! You shouldn’t find it small at all! Hope you enjoy the ride, let us know what you think of it.
I test rode one. Did not like where the controls were. I’m 6’1” and I’d need to put about a thousand dollars of changes just so I could sit on it and relax.
Yes it's pretty good. You feel the wind on your legs (because the pegs are wide)and the screen doesn't keep anything significant off you, but otherwise fine.
@@MrDarcy-OlMan thanks so much. I am debating on the breakout or the low rider s. I love the fat tire of the breakout but the dealership is telling me i most likely will enjoy the low rider more because its faster...
MrDarcy & the Ol'Man i will put some forward controls on it and maybe some heated grips with black levers and smaller led turnsignals. for the sound some s&s slip ons and maybe the heavy breather for the look.
You guys should change the name of your channel to "The Skinny Kid and The Fat Man" ! hahahahahahahahaha ... But execellent video. I test rode a 2020 HD LRS about 3 weeks ago, Love the bike, But a bit over priced IMO. I currently own a HD SUper Low 1200T and a Motto Guzzi V7 II Stone. Later ...

order on 20/09/19 *** 8 weeks to wait... with extra** H&V big radius 2 ,dyno flush software, cruise control- kauana heated gripts, harley mustache engine guard
but the way -what the best way to clean HD ..can you make a video about it ..Thanks
Giora Oscar Awesome! You will love it! When my Harley was new, I used to clean it with a slightly damp cloth, but once it’s really dirty, I use soapy water and hose off (but not jet wash).
@@MrDarcy-OlMan
Thanks!!!
With being a heritage classic owner, do you wish it had the dual front disc? I love the bike but I want the softail 114 with dual front disc
D J I find the front brake OK on the Heritage to be honest. I’ve never had an issue with stopping.
Nice review, thanx. I came to the same conclusion with regards to the mirrors, the breaks and the the position of your head when reading the instruments (you can't look on the road at the same time). Well, not perfect but it still is a hell of a bike and it looks dope in my opinion.
Gregor Faust Thanks bro! Yes still pretty cool!
Nice review!
Dude, you can‘t See anything in that mirrors, incause of your massive shoulders! 😂
That Slip ons sound amazing!
NodealWallace51 Haha maybe! I have been to the gym once or twice! Yes the slipons boom!
That license plate is ridiculous! :o
the_Luk Isn’t it ridiculous!
I know! We hate it! It’s such a stupid, badly thought out law. It actually makes bikes more dangerous, not to mention how stupid it looks.
Is a beautiful bike... I have always loved hearing roar. Great review.
Coffee on two Wheels Thanks buddy! Doesn’t it sound amazing!
Brilliant review Guys!
I'm 6'6 what do you think about HD low rider S for me?
Thanks Macie! It would be OK but not the best. Because of the mid controls your knees would be up higher than your butt. Biggest Softails are Heritage Classic, Breakout and FatBoy
Hey, congrats on an awesome channel.
One of my favourites!
Just wondering so I can get some perspective on my own situation.
How tall are you?
I’m 6’3”! Thanks for your support buddy
2020 Low Rider S vs 2020 Fat Bob? Im in the market for both (although I was ruined by testing out a livewire - haha). Great review!
ooh hard one! If staying stock - Lowrider S. If you change pipe - Fat Bob.
Keeping my FatBoy I think, love the low rider s but can't live with the mid mounts they make the riding position feel so cramped. HD should offer mids or forwards from factory to fit bigger or smaller riders.
Philip Roberts The FatBoy is a better bike!
Nice bike, sounds amazing with these slip ons. But I hate that licence plate just stuck there in the back. It looks completely misplaced and destroys the rear view. If it could be mounted to the side it would look better.
The UK plates are ridiculous! Yes it sounds amazing!
Awesome! We don’t put any background music on our videos anymore for that reason!
(Good review by the way!)
looks great all muddy
olog Ha yes! Theres mud everywhere at the moment
What boots are you wearing in this video
Lee Joseph They are Grinders Cowboy Boots
Thank you 👍
Black clutch and front break levers would look nice.
Yes 💯👍
Love the review. I'm going to subscribe and will buy the bike.
Gabriel Dom Excellent on both fronts! Thanks 👊🏼
I love the bike and I want one! I have to say though that I hate the number plate location, if I had one it would have to be moved.
Yes 100% and totally agree about the plate!
How is it on country roads compared to your old sporty? Which was more fun?
Its big but fine on country roads 👍🏼
Anyone looking at this bike, he’s dead on about the speedo and tach they are way down. Fortunately there are relocation kits from companies like SpeedKings Cycle. I’m switching mine soon.
👍🏼👍🏼
Sir, how tall are you. I really like and want this bike. I'm 6'3" with boots 6'4" . I love the handling of this bike but I may have to roll with the Breakout. Your suggestions. How did you fair with the mid controls/pegs?
Gregory D. Brown 6’3” buddy. The mid controls are rather cramped and the breakout is much roomier.
Great review guys.
Thanks bro!
Excellent review as always and as for the mirrors like all my bikes, flip them upside down 😁🤙
Khalil Al Janahi I think the Fat Bob is the better bike for similar money. Have you seen our review of that?
@@MrDarcy-OlMan I sure did and had a test ride, she rides amazing and reminded me of a naked sports bike. It's a bike I would own only for fun but not a main bike.
I remember when I first rode it, I keep looking to see where the headlight is LOL.
Khalil Al Janahi Great! I really liked it but it doesn’t beat the Heritage for practically and versatility
@@MrDarcy-OlMan agree 😁🤙
Keep pumping out the Vlogs brother got the notification bell on and waiting for an alert 😂
Khalil Al Janahi Thanks man! Breakout coming soon.
I test rode one. I’d need the forward controls. Too scrunched up.
Aaron Ross Yes I agree. Once you’re used to forward controls it doesn’t feel right with centre pegs
I just traded my 2016 dyna lowrider s for a 2021 softail lowrider s.
The only complaint I have whatsoever is the footpeg location was much less "scrunched up" on the dyna version.
Great review guys. So tempted by one
Thanks James. Yes why not!
great review, this or the new street bob 114 ?
Thanks buddy. For us; the Street Bob 114
Cheers!
Thanks mate! Yes that’s true! We reviewed the Fat Boy some time ago. Here’s the link ua-cam.com/video/JgqigLJ9Cdo/v-deo.html
Fat bob or low rider s? I have to know!
Is your first name Jefferson?
Paul O'Neal No Paul. I don’t get the inference. Who is Jefferson?
@@MrDarcy-OlMan Jefferson Darcy from Married with Children.
Paul O'Neal oh right; not seen that!
MrDarcy & the Ol'Man thanks. I will.
I'm only 5'9" and it fit me like a glove.
What's your inseam?
I test rode one. Did not like where the controls were. I’m 6’1” and I’d need to put about a thousand dollars of changes just so I could sit on it and relax.
Does he know the mirrors are adjustable
My favorite bike 🖤
I'm Here to Say Yes it’s pretty awesome 👊🏼
which is best ? this lo rider s or sport glide ;;
This Low Rider S 💯
Does anyone have any idea how much some forward controls would cost?
Just over £500 🇬🇧 I believe
does the low rider s perform well on the highway?
Yes it's pretty good. You feel the wind on your legs (because the pegs are wide)and the screen doesn't keep anything significant off you, but otherwise fine.
@@MrDarcy-OlMan thanks so much. I am debating on the breakout or the low rider s. I love the fat tire of the breakout but the dealership is telling me i most likely will enjoy the low rider more because its faster...
Launde Abbey?
Hepcat Harley Yes! We’ll recognised! I was hoping people might think it’s my house! 😁
@@MrDarcy-OlMan Not a chance ...it's mine! Gerrorf my laaaand lol
bought one today :D
the_Luk Awesome! Which dealership did you get it from?
MrDarcy & the Ol'Man i will put some forward controls on it and maybe some heated grips with black levers and smaller led turnsignals. for the sound some s&s slip ons and maybe the heavy breather for the look.
the_Luk Hey that will be awesome! 👊🏼
@@MrDarcy-OlMan yes! =D whats the songname? i like it.
the_Luk I cant remember yo be honest; it’s a royalty free track
With those roads it looks like I'd rather ride my Yahama 250f
Joseph marsh Yes totally 👍👊🏼
This man looks like the girlfriends father you wouldn't want to meet.
Haha yes definitely
Awesome review by the way mate 👍...
Later ...
Who is this monster of a DAVID Gilmore man.......?
Cant say!
I have owned 3 Harleys and do like them BUT you don't look comfortable at all on that.
Seems wrong with mid controls to me.
Put apes on it would be perfect then
Yes that would look cool 👍🏼💪🏻
The slip ons sounds terrible on this
Do you think?
MrDarcy & the Ol'Man could just be the way the mic pics it up, but it sounds choppy for sure. What are your thoughts?
