Thanks to Rip, Rich, and the entire vegan community, I’ve learned so much from you all and have been a happy vegan since transitioned from vegetarian in Mar of 2022, definitely a life changing event. Enjoy the journey very much! Healthy vegan foods has healed me of indigestion, severe eczema, moodiness, depression, and anxiety. I’m very grateful for all you angels and I believe that you both have incarnated to our world from other spiritual realms to help humanity and planet earth.

People get intimidated and don’t even bother to try when they think that it’s all or nothing. Rich says we need to ease people into the plant-based lifestyle. That is so true! if we can encourage and support people just to eat more plants, gradually replacing the animals and processed junk with whole plants, we can get a lot more people on board. I went from beef-cattle farm girl to vegan over the course of about a year, by introducing these new plants into my diet, an abundance of food rather than restriction and deprivation. A year later, weight is lost, cholesterol is down, triglycerides where they’re supposed to be. It is so easy to maintain.

My waist is now 29". Two days ago I did 100 - 10 -pushup burpees 1000 push ups my recovery is through the roof not sore at all the next day. The bulk of my diet which is one meal a day is beans and dark greens potatoes etc. Haven't had meat in 13 months.

Thanks Rip and Rich. This is a fantastic conversation.
It is so excellent to have such an expanded conversation between you both on the Plant Strong system, whole-food planted-based lifestyle, global environmental aspects (relative to plant-based lifestyle), and the overall high-diversity of plants / and plant-based eating style. I have recently focused on eating 35 to 40 plants each day because of your podcasts. You both have such excellent podcasts, with such compelling guess on a wide range of knowledge base in the plant-based arena.
I've been vegetarian since '83, but only true "plant-based" for 6 years. I'm now 67, have a BMI of 24.7, and I've never felt better... don't let the years bother you... what I tell people is; It just a number.
I mountain bike at 7000 feet, distance bike at 5000 feet, and I'm Zone-2 training for long distance biking in the coming years. I am at this point in my life now looking forward to the next 50 years because of you both, as well as others. But Rich and Rip, you are mainstays in my plant-based information stream, and a huge part of my on-going growth into a whole-food, high-diversity / plant-based lifestyle.
I loved the spiritual topics in how you both completed this podcast.
Thanks to both of you. Looking forward to hearing more of your podcasts.

Would be really interesting to see how it goes for you over time. I switched to WFPB in Nov 2018. The first benefits were weight loss of 27kgs. But after 6-8 months I noticed a real reduction in my anxiety and panic attacks (had level 5 anxiety attacks since age 15). I’d say after a year or so I noticed about 90% of my panic attacks had gone (3-4 a week) and now I’d say it’s 95-98%. I have a couple a year now.
      Why?
I’d say in general it’s three things
      1. Not putting tortured and traumatized animals laced with antibiotics and other drugs into my system and gut biome.
      2. Eliminated the processed/fast food mental rollercoaster of dopamine hits, sugar/insulin rushes and depressive comedowns.
      3. Feeding the gut tract with a variety of high nutrient food and doing sports/exercising everyday.
      Wish you the best.

WFPB for over 10 years now; got my start with the Engine 2 Diet. Many things improved but I still had gut issues. I tried seemingly every healing modality there is out there. Not until I found the book Cleanse to Heal by Anthony William did finally reverse all of gut issues. For the majority I believe Engine 2 is the best book and all they need. However, for those struggling with chronic illness, you’re most likely dealing with high viral and or bacterial loads and you need more info. For me it was streptococcus. Check out both books - Rip’s and Anthony’s. #wfpb #medicalmedium

I prefer your visual, televised pod casts. Though I appreciate it as lively radio. Yet someone should write the best seller, "It's NOT Fat Shaming, It's Food Poisoning." As a fan of Carson McCullers she knew that her secret to having best sellers is in THE TITLE. If the uniquely memorable title says it all it will go a long, long way to becoming popular literature. I believe that veganism can sweep the country faster than gay marriage, once word gets out about food poisoning.
As a fan of Dr. John McDougall I appreciate his description of food poisoning as the root of all evil in our food industry. Had I the research capability, for tracking down statistics on food poisoning instances in the US, this is the book that needs to be written. These ill effects are virtually ignored by main stream media in the interest of appeasing our extremely powerful food industries. Such a book demonstrates the benefits of plant-based food in a memorable, meaningful way.
Yes, meat, poultry, dairy, fish, eggs and oil are the prime causes of the metabolic syndrome diseases over a lifetime-- yet that's not particularly compelling unless and until the person survives a first heart attack or stroke. Or until they know that food poisoning kills and hospitalizes hundreds of thousands of people a year in the US. That's what need be impressed upon the public--deadly outcomes, both long and short term, caused by the powerful deregulated animal based food industries. Obesity/diabetes now affects 78% of the population and growing after 40 years of deregulation!
Market demand for vegan compliant foods in the marketplace is key to resurrecting the health in the US enjoyed prior to deregulation which is what we long to go forward to restoring in society. Starting with Richard Nixon asking how to level the price of food to protect political interests is when everything started going South. The public outcry and demand must clamor for cleaning up the outrageously deregulated food industry. It can happen faster if there is a market demand for vegan compliant products.
If Rip has publishers begging him for a book, I am happy to contribute first of all, by suggesting a title, "It's NOT Fat Shaming, It's Food Poisoning." I gained and lost 100 lbs. in the 1980's and wrote a book about it. I also hold a BS degree in Home Economics from UT-Austin which used to train teachers to teach people in High Schools how to cook for their families. No more Home Ec., it went obsolete in the 70's. I have much to share since going vegan in 2003 upon reading T. Colin Campbell, PhD, "The China Study." I have 79 years experience in food and nutrition.
Thank you, Rich Roll, for everything you do to popularize the switch to plant-based food. I appreciate that Rip Esselstyn promotes products to become accessible to the public. Trough researching and engineering vegan compliant products to offer on the market makes vegan compliant foods accessible. It's a great place to begin. Yet so much more is needed to switch to the S.A.N.E Diet--Sustainable, Accessible, Nutritional and Economic Diet--and away from the SAD Diet.
    Best regards,

Plants are so intelligent, they know how the human digestive system works including animals that love plants - that's why the protein is low and the carbohydrates are high to encourage more plant eating, as they need protection from humans for long-term survival. It's a win-win situation: protect plants and they in return give us delicious healthy fruits, vegetables, grains, nuts, herbs and seeds /*

At about 12 minutes in Rich istalking about how every restaurant has a plant-based option and people no longer really need to be explained what vegan or plant-based mean. I’m going to have to beg to differ. I live in Utah and that is not the case. I hope soon it will be the case but there’s really almost no options for us other than chipotle or a regular old salad is pretty much the only option. Even buying vegetables here is sad. What was all that said I don’t wanna sound like a negative Nancy we’re making it work. All six of us! And I absolutely love Esselstyn family and Rich. Every time I need a recipe I know where to turn! And my, my beef with meat cookbook is almost falling apart I’ve been using it since it came out. My teen has the spaghetti sauce recipe memorized. Juust an FYI for anyone who uses monkfruit sweetener:
    Patricia Diekroger
Read the ingredients list of the bags of "monkfruit". I wondered how a bagful of expensive, concentrated fruit could be so relatively cheap. Then I read the label. You're paying for a bag of erythritol with who knows how much actual monkfruit in it (could be a teaspoon). It is a processed sweetener made from GMO CORN. Whole Foods had one with corn actually listed as an ingredient before monkfruit. It's outrageous that the bags advertised "monkfruit with erythritol" when they are actually erythritol with a dash of monkfruit. Buyer beware.

true soils are heavily degraded and abused, but it I think its important to think of that as an agricultural practice issue and not an issue of attaining nutrients through the typical vast range of plant foods available to most populated areas. It is truly amazing how quickly we can turn around our soils though through regenerative agricultural practices focusing on remineralization and building soil ecology!

With that logic the meat you eat is even more depleted and pumped up artificially. Save the nutrients for people. The mono crops are raised to feed livestock.
