The more you resist it persists--trying to work on this by changing my response and changing mindset. Doctor Claire Weekes, an Australian MD wrote a book in the 60’s titled Hope and Help for your Nerves. She was ahead of her time --it’s worth a read. Like Rachel says, recognize you are having anxiety.
I developed some intense anxiety at 30 for the first time ever and it’s taken me two years (and therapy!) to learn how to cope and work with my anxiety. I find it extremely important to stop and listen to what’s it’s trying to tell me (and sometimes it’s nothing!). Like the other day I had it “all of a sudden”, but I recognized that I was burning the candle at both ends and needed some gentle self care and a good nights sleep. It worked! My anxiety alerted me to that and forced me to slow down, and for that I chose to be grateful. I’ve also had it more since becoming a mom and I realized that I simply have more abundance in my life (more to lose) and that’s why I get more anxious. But I try to remind myself that I’d rather have more anxiety because I have more in my life! ❤ Loved this video!
I had to learn to accept anxiety, starting by removing the shame of having it...that wasn't easy, and was slow going. The mindfulness workbook called 30 Days to Reduce Anxiety by Harper Daniels helped.
thank you miss I think I spent the last 7 years with just anxiety, from 14 to almost 22 it wasted too many opportunities to learn from my peers social skills and just in general how to be human lately the issue has grown into me forgetting how to feel real at all these are some very helpful first steps for me to start calming down being able to take my life in my own hands and just move forward thank you so much
I can remember specific moments in my life where I’ve had anxiety, and always wondered what the origin was. Survival and fight or flight is a thing. I’ve also come to understand that often times because we’re so connected to each other, it isn’t even ours. There’s a discernment to be found . Breathing and grounding are excellent as you said, regardless of where it is coming from. The grid is alive and electric. Thanks, Rachel ✨💛
Thank you :) this was a needed reminder for me tonight... Anxiety is so complicated and scary at times. Thanks for taking care of us, Rachel. Hope you are doing well.
Thanks Rachel. Your channel is a blessing. I was wondering if you could do a video on meditation when dealing with grief? Currently going through it and I feel like my whole body hurts and my anxiety has been through the roof.
That's a wonderful suggestion, thank you. I will put it on my list. Also, check out Alex Howard's videos on working through grief: www.youtube.com/@AlexHowardTherapy/search?query=grief
I get a scared feeling over my body an I say to myself It's just my anxiety sometimes it works but sometimes I start to cry After I cry I come down I hate that cause I am not a person to cry

I love this perspective! We tend to make anxiety bigger than it is. I resonate with everything in this video.
Glad you found it meaningful!

Human beings have emotions, and those emotions need to be processed. Sometimes that means crying - there's nothing wrong with that.
Anxiety = excitement that you’re not up for
I like it!
