  • My 911 Turbo is going through some more changes! This video outlines the basic steps needed to remove an exhaust from a 997.1 Turbo. Keep in mind that when removing a factory exhaust system with catalytic converters, Bank1 and Bank2 intercoolers are highly recommended to be removed for better access.
Spring is around the corner and the clock is winding down to prep the car for the upcoming 2021 Season. Things are being custom built, parts are on order and a laundry list of things to do to the car still haven't been checked off.

Some people remove the intercoolers to get better access to the O2 sensors and turbo bolts. Is that not really necessary with proper extensions?

If the exhaust that you're removing from the car is the factory system with catalytic converters; then bank1 and bank2 intercooler removal is highly recommended, as it makes access to everything a LOT easier.
The system I removed in this video is obviously an aftermarket catless system, which makes the job a thousand times easier. I will touch on this subject in my upcoming videos. Thanks for watching!!!!!

Great vid. I’m guessing these views are other drivers like me looking for a little DIY instruction on how to pull this bad boy off. Any advice on whether or there’s a good alternative to the Brombacher Sport Exhaust 200 cell? Or should I just drop the $6k? I subbed, look forward to your vids. PS- Like you, I’ve had many cars, have an E60 M5 in the garage with this 997.1 turbo. I love this damn car, I just want to hear it growl.

Thank you! Glad you like the video and thanks for the sub. The exhaust suite for this car is plentiful with many offerings from many different manufacturers. I’ve been through 3 different systems and will say that they all offer similar performance gains. The one main difference is sound. I would weigh your options and go with what you feel will suit your wants and needs best. To name a couple; Check out Speedtech and Europipe - those are known companies that have a high level of craftsmanship and quality.

@@NSXavier997 Awesome, man. I really appreciate the feedback. I have a europipe on the M5, and, yeah, it’s unreal. I’ll check the other guys out 👍

@@stcroixatlast for an exhaust if you haven't purchased one yet I highly recommend Freddy Lewis at Lewis Speed. I have his 3" catless, xpipe, resonators, and anti drone tubes setup. Sounds fantastic and his prices cant be beat
