I hope my simulations will educate the general public about potential earthquake related hazards and create more curiosity about Earth Science in general. I do also hope that my videos will inspire a future generation of amazing architects, engineers and scientists! We all need to peacefully work together to make this world a better place. :)
My goal is to show people around the world the effects of different earthquake shaking levels on various buildings and structures.
These simulations along with my piano music (Spotify/UA-cam: @pardonmypiano

My dad experienced this earthquake. He was in Adana, Turkey and fortunately the house didn't collapse

The building in this simulation didn t collapse. Most structures in Turkey did because of bad construction and because of the government s bad policy

Another thing to add: The buildings in Turkey aren’t built to survived earthquakes as well in other places like for example Japan where earthquakes are a lot more common

You should do the simulation of the Chicxulub meteor mega earthquake the planet has ever experienced

Great video as always. Can you do videos on earthquakes that have occurred in places not necessarily associated with high seismic activity, like the New Madrid earthquakes of 1811 and 1812. Or a hypothetical scenario of earthquakes occurring in such regions, like the ones you did on the Great Glen Fault in the UK and the East Coast of the US. Another one, which I have suggested before, is the Milnerton Fault in South Africa, which runs right under the city of Cape Town and is dangerously close to the country's only operational nuclear power station. The last major quake on the fault occurred just over 200 years ago in 1809 and is estimated to have measured between 6.0 and 6.5 on the Richter Scale. Of course, at the time Cape Town wasn't the big city it is today so the damage wasn't really on a large scale as it would be if a similar sized quake were to hit today. It would be great if you could do a hypothetical video like the Great Glen Fault one of say, a 7.0 or 7.5 quake striking along the Milnerton Fault and the effect it might on the city of Cape Town and especially the nuclear power plant, called Koeberg that's located just 8km from the fault. Would be awesome to see a video like that.

Please earthquake México 19 September 1985
Y si haces esa simulación usa las aceleraciónes de la zona blanda de la ciudad, ahí es donde mas daños hubo y recuerda que alcanzó el mercalli IX y las aceleraciónes fueron de 164 gales.

I wanna say a few thing. Actually vibration wasn't that much. And vertical displacement can't be that slow. In an allivium cite, Vs30= 180m/s the vertical and horizontal displacement period is 0.8sn. So if displacement is 1.2m the ground will go it in 0.8sn. But not as a round trip, for the beginning, -0.6m in 0.8sn, +1.2m in 0.8sn, -1.2m in 0.8sn ...

Can you do a video of material comparison with "Steel", "Wood", "Concrete" and "AAC Blocks", please.
AAC blocks, which use advanced materials and engineering techniques, provide better seismic performance than normal concrete blocks during earthquakes of higher magnitude. AAC blocks are more reliable and safer than traditional building materials. AAC blocks are earthquake resistant because they are light in weight.
