- Watch this 3D Public Library being tested for 10 different sized earthquakes, from the smallest shaking to the largest!
Making these 3D models and running the simulations takes me days of work, please LIKE and SUBSCRIBE if you would like to support my work and spread more earthquake awareness around the world, together! :)
------------------------------
I hope these simulations will educate the general public about potential earthquake related hazards. I do also hope that my videos will inspire a future generation of amazing architects, engineers and scientists! We all need to peacefully work together to make this world a better place.

Welcome to the world’s largest and only 3D earthquake simulation channel on UA-cam! My channel focuses on realistic 3D earthquake simulations of a variety of virtual structures and types of buildings from around the world. Some of my work has been featured by various international media news outlets and it has also been used by other large UA-cam channels such as GeologyHub, GeoPop and CaSeismograph for educational purposes. This channel’s content has also been featured on the Curiosity Channel in a recent documentary called “Breakthrough: Forecasting the Big One”.
The simulations that I post serve an educational purpose and should be solely treated as such. We should not forget that earthquakes are real world events that can sometimes lead to loss of properties and lives.
The simulations were created in Blender 3D with the bullet constraints builder add-on by Kai Kostack.

IMPORTANT!!! ❤❤There are a few small building design changes throughout the video. Let me know how many architectural changes you can find here! You would REALLY impress me for that!
there is some type of triangles on the steel pillars// and the parking is not under ground (it's also the same building)// and the fact that there is steel on the foundation and (concrete/brick) structure on the top. i never seen that before on a real building so i will take it as a building design change to. thanks for this great simulation!
These people you placed are so strong lol
well, one moment the building was strong and secure and then the next the building was on the ground!
Next time you make a video please remove the people.
At stage 10 you put in steel plates on the columns to keep them together.
The building shaking intensely and collapsing:
The people: 🧍♀️🧍🧍♂️
I love this lol
The guy on the roof was a real trooper. Thanks for taking the time to do this.
Yes he was!! You are very welcome!! 🙂👍
Hi, I expected ragdolls to fall easily with intensity >=VII (difficulty standing, right?), but instead they seem glued to the ground even when the building is collapsing.
some of them are falling but only a few. For my future simulations I will make them fall with intensity IX and above. Good observation!
@@EarthquakeSim Thanks! Another question: what is meant with "specially designed structures"? Earthquake-resistant?
@@lamandula85Buildings that are Designed to be protected against Earthquakes unlike the Buildings that don't.
Almost 95% of Buildings in Central Tokyo are Classified as "Specially Designed Structures" or "Earthquake resistant" due to Japans very active Earthquake history
These people in the video took "built different" to entire new levels.
As a disclaimer, no ragdolls were actually harmed in his simulation.😉 Thank you, my friend, for this amazing simulation and the ragdolls do add another level to your creations.
This is the only thing I watch on UA-cam
that made my day!
Cool
Everyday, I watch one of his vids
@@Etriland and everyday I get to read your comments :)
@@EarthquakeSim Equal treatment lol
I love everyone is standing still just to get knocked over by the earthquake or falling things lol you have the best channel
thank you so much for saying this!!
Pas un seul survivant ! Merci beaucoup.
We have witnessed the most indestructible people
and fearless!!
HE ADDED RAGDOLLS!!!
THANK YOU for including animated people, it is just awesome !
WOW!! Both fascinating and frightening to watch.
only on this channel you get to experience fascination, be frightened, educate yourself and kind of..become addicted to watching more haha! :) thanks for your feedback!
maybe if the ragdolls have too much pressure on them then they fall over?
also i do have some suggestions for realism
-lights turn off when the building collapses (if they dont already)
-computer screens turn off when they fall
-car models break down or explode
i am a REALY big fan of simulations being TOP NOTCH realistic lol. anyways i was just asking :D
these are amazing suggestions! I was able to simulate lights turning off before, it takes more time but it is possible :) make sure you check my gas station simulation (9.0 Cascadia video) so that you see the lights turning off
I love these types of videos and i already subbed to you
I really enjoyed this video. It explains damage very well. Hope it will be picked op if a big earthquake happens.
that's we are ready facing anytime the BIG ONE!!!
Amazing vid.
RIP to all of thise rag dolls that absolutely refuse to move 😔
I think the people made it feel less realistic than your previous videos, far too rigid, not actually ragdolling.
But otherwise an excellent video!
yep! I tried to push myself to see if I can use some 3D models of people. But I can't simulate physics with these ragdolls. It's close to impossible to animate ragdolls :) it was a good attempt though!
Me and my brother had a lot of fun guessing which guy would fall over😂
did you nickname each ragdoll? :D
Great as always, though not gonna lie, the ragdolls either keeping to their feet or falling like GI Joes took me OUT.
Very nice video! I like these kinds of simulations
you are so welcome! stay tuned for more! I am making some Chicago townhouses
I absolutely love you videos keep up the good work = also a celebration for first appearance of rag dolls 🥳🥳🎉🎉 =
* a recommendation for a future simulation have a wave/tsunami happen for ever earthquake but like expected the bigger/more intense earthquake the bigger/more intense tsunami
that would be such an ideal channel :) thanks for your feedback! hope you checked my recent tsunami simulation! :)
The poor guy on the level 10 intensity he tried to hold on for dear life but couldn’t
I understand there was a big shake up at the library!
yep there was!!
I've noticed that the building is soft story .
you are right about that!
Can you make Japan 'Tokyo 1923 Earthquake' size is "2023 Japan Tokyo city" hit!
Wow, the history repeats
Those are the bravest people I have ever seen.
At intensity 10, the main steel beams holding up the structure change from whole steel beams to 2 different beams attached in the middle, making it weaker. I honestly think that the building could have survived intensity 11 or maybe even 12 if the design changes making it progressively weaker don't occur; I feel like it would be interesting if you created a weak structure, then progressively made enhancements to increase the building's strength to show different methods of earthquake collapse prevention.
Edit: I challenge you to make the building from 'When Engineering Fails" survive intensity 11 only by using engineering lol
you just read my mind! I am working on a project where I will increase the building's strength one step at a time :) kudos for suggesting this!
There are forces in nature in which no human built object can survive. The Chicxulub impact 65 million years ago created an 11.0 and briefly caused a 3 mile high tsunami that traveled inland all the way to modern day Montana. Besides, no structure can survive fissures opening up and soil, liquefaction and significant ground instability.
City of Valdivia in Chile, the strongest earthquake recorded
damn this library is strong
My favorite UA-camr
Thank you so much!! Hope to see you at my CITY simulation premiere
@@EarthquakeSim ok
Yay ragdolls!
Imagine if you were in the position of the ragdolls. It really shows how vulnerable life is at higher intensity and groundshaking. Dock, cover, hold and run might NOT even work...
you are rigtht about this. it is all very contextual
That library was actually built quite well for a soft story building.
My dude on the bottom floor just holding his hips all annoyed like "really? this again?"
Yeah, he's like, "Come at me, bro!" 😄
These are cool simulations. But I would expect any public library in earthquake country to have shelves that will not fall over in an earthquake. I sure hope so, as I work in a public library, shelving books, so I spend many hours in the stacks. I have been told that our shelves will not fall over in an earthquake.
It would be cool too if you make a videos of real old earthquake, example, Japan 2011 earthquake simulator
Random ragdoll falls over at Intensity VI (6)... dude must've been standing directly at the epicenter!
Haha you're right about that!!!
Damn who tf built this library!!!!!
Watching these high as hell does sumn else to me
At level 12, wouldn’t the ground shatter? 🤔
I love your videos
thank you so much!!!
In my city there was one of 8
Thanks for watching!!
Thanks for answering me, you are now my favorite UA-camr
@@Katote_rblx that means so so much to me!!!!!!
Can you make 3D and then move? People tried to ask you if it's possible
it's quite impossible for now, but in the future :) remember that I am creating all these simulations by myself, I wish I had a big team to help me create better animations
yeaah a new vidéo! :D
Tankyou❤
Can you do shindo scale?
Yes I can do that!
The name song? 0:52
Can you make an earthquake simulation with a european house?
In Chile...
Mercalli 3 = Normallity every six or seven months = People talking
Mercalli 4 = Every Year = People holding the tv
Mercalli 6 = The fear and screams begins.
Mercali 7 = 2010 Earthquake. We were sleeping
(Sorry for my bad english)
6 şubat depremi Hatay Antakya' nın bazı mahallelerinde 12 ölçeğinde yaşandı, dehşet verici.
Hello! you should do an earthquake on a train station 🚉 ! :D
working on that!!
If only that building had a back wall, that man might not have fallen.
This Is amazing!
can you make them move like try to run can you?
The trees should've been uprooted/broken off in the three strongest intensities. Yeah, the people could've started moving around, running out of the building, getting under tables, etc.. The two people on the roof should've been bucked off by intensity 6.
Really good video. The XII mercalli is how the 1960 Valdivia Erathquare with a 9.5 magnitude. But the Loma Prieta earthquare. make a MLB Series Game make this signal shut off. DID YOU TINK THIS IS A JOKE!!!!!!
What is the "intensity" scale that you're using? You don't say.
Is the earthquake right under the building? Usually nothing falls over in an earthquake until maybe 5.0 on richter scale. But then again this is when an earthquake is farther away. I live in Alaska so just curious.
I will instantly be panic by Intensity 3
0:56 would think everyone outdoors would feel this earthquake....
How do you do these simulations? What is the application name?
Can u add ricther magnitude
10\10 this video
thanks for the feedback and for being part of this wonderful community!
why aren't people scared not even running?
they are part of an earthquake experiment. They were told not to run :)
mmm yes, non-existent horizontal beams on the first-second floor that would surely get rejected by safety in East Asian countries
6:03 bye bye books :(
Not ragdolls, statues!
First time people are shown in the video
we MUST celebrate! :)
Simulasi gempa di indonesia

How scientifically accurate are you striving to make your simulations? I want to put a challenge to you: detail your models down to all of a buildings component parts: the foundations, all of the columns and beams, studs, bricks and concrete blocks, windows including the frames and glass, roofing materials; if a stick frame, all of the studs, cross members, joints, drywall, composites and manufactured wood products. In other words, build your buildings as if you were the contractor responsible for overseeing the entire project. Then rig it with all of the proper constraints, tolerances, properties, springs, hinges, etc., etc. to run the simulation with.
Hélio earthquaquesim um tour fan ☺️😉
Remember, on the Richter scale, each scale (Mg 1, Mg 2, etc) is 31.6 times more powerful than the one before it. E.g. Mg 5 is 31.6 times more powerful than a Mg 4 and so on.
30 times I think.
@@wilcofaber9863 I just checked, according to ChatGPT, it's 31.6 times more powerful per number of increase,.. Mg 5 = 31.6 x more powerful than a Mg 4. So, I stand corrected. Thanks for the input. :) Have amended my original post to reflect the facts.
@@SceneArtisan good that you checked it. I think 2 scales increase is around 1000 more. 31.6 squared is around that. So a 5 is 1000 more then a 3.
i wish there was a game or software that would let users to build their own construction and simulate earth wuake and other natural disasters. blender is way to hard and people like me dont have time to learn blender and unreal engine is impossible to learn and takes to much of the hard drive.
it stood storty
Now see, I have a problem with some of these simulations. These are based on a single stability design. Different regions of countries have different building codes for Earth Quakes. These video simulations are a completely inaccurate depiction of what might happen during an Earth Quake. For my area the ground would liquefy and nearly ALL would be destroyed in even a 4.0 Earth Quake.
Türkiye de böyle bir bina olmadığı kesin

the day you will see that chocolate factory simulation is approaching :D
