Do a video on how weight issues killed some player's careers. Some it predisposed them to knee or back issues, or they were simply unable to stay on the court long enough to contribute significantly. Contrast them to similar players who were able to lose the weight and turn out great careers.
I wanted Josh Smith to be a star in Atlanta too. SMH hometown kid who was great at defense and had the athletic ability to be exciting on offense, but never truly developed a jumper, and in spite of that still kept shooting 3's!
I don't agree with the "ego" thing, I think it's more of "prove all the doubters wrong" situations and getting some experience and more playing time. For example: *Ekpe Udoh* didn't get significant minutes in his first years in the NBA, went to Europe and played incredible basketball in Fenerbahçe for the last two years and now returned to the NBA (Utah just picked him up). Antoher great examples are *Hasan Whiteside, Anthony Parker* and *PJ Tucker* who didn't play much in their first years in the NBA (Just like Udoh), and after couple of years of great basketball in Europe/Overseas, became great NBA players.
Wow, I always wondered what happened to Josh Childress. Can't say I blame him for going where the money is, and Olympiacos was smart getting him young, usually overseas teams get the past-prime versions of NBA players. ESPN needs to put you on, Andy, you've got all the scoops!
Tyrus Thomas, Anthony Randolph, Eddie Curry, Michael Olwakandi, Nate Robinson, Allen Iverson, Steven Francis, Jason Maxill, Dejuan Blair, Carlos Boozer all players who had unusual leaves from the N.B.A Anthony Randolph would be a beast in this generation of play where physical size does not matter he is the quickest 6ft10 guy I had ever seen
Please do a video on Joe Fulks, a scoring star in the ABL and the first NBA player to score 60+ points. He is extremely forgotten and it is sad no one talks about him.
Josh Smith and Lamar Odom both played 11 plus seasons in the NBA. With injuries and all the miles on the legs thats damn good. OJ Mayo played 8 seasons in the NBA.
You should make a video about players who were drafted top 5 and didn't work out example. Anthony Bennett, Wesley Johnson and Thomas Robinson. Like what happened to them what went wrong
Jimmer might be onto something.... i feel like teams was kinda holding him back. How did he go from avg like 30 in college to being a facilitator who never shoots???? Huh???
Consider making a video about bad players who managed to win multiple rings. There are many situations where I think about great players who didn't get a single ring (like Iverson, Barkley, etc.), but in the same time I think about the other end of the spectrum: what are some of the weak or unknown players that have won a ring (or more of them).
From what I recall, OJ Mayo is suspended for drug abuse, but not for all the drugs that are listed in the video. Based off of the report given, the NBA doesn't actually state which of the listed drugs he was guilty of taking, just that he is guilty of taking at least 1 of them. It could be as simple as him doing molly 1 night at a club before a game, or he really could be a meth/cocaine/heroin addict, or anything in between, no one really knows at this point. That being said, he was suspended years prior for performance enhancing drugs found in his system which he attributed to an "energy drink", as well as the last month he played he ended up breaking his ankle and missing the rest of the season due to "accidentally tripping while descending his stairs".
When commenting about Latrell Sprewell dont forget we taking about a guy who choked his coach, with both hands. And like this guy Andy said in his video mental health is something that is not discussed in sports.
Josh Smith wasn't THAT bad after Detroit, he was a really important bench player on that 2015 Rockets team, especially in the playoffs. He could come in and handle the ball while also being able to guard multiple positions.
Josh Smith was so adamant about shooting his threes when he was an elite scorer around the basket. He even acknowledged the problem... still let them fly.
Josh Smith could have been one of the best ever. SF in a PF's body, he dominated just about every other SF he faced in the low post on offense and defense. Nobody could stop him. His problem was shot selection. Smith for some reason thought he was a 3pt hero and would frequently chuck up bad shots - so many times when the game was on the line. Too bad. He could have been the ultimate low post weapon.
Ryan Young BREAKING NEWS: Derrick Rose tears his acl in his debut Jose Calderon Sucks Jeff Green continues to horrify crowd with bricks Kyrie and Lebron both want to leave
The new CBA really was for the average players. These players are making 10-15 more than they should be really making, and there's no cap space to sign good veterans. A role player like Otto Porter should never be on that contract.
Smith was good and bad when he came here to Detroit. He had good games, costed us a few, and I think his play on the court effected the team's chemistry. I know everytime he would take a 3pt shot, he would have everyone holding their breath and pulling their hair.
jimmer fredette still a scorer beast i kinda feel him about that the offense needs to run through him cause he can put 30 on anybody but 37 pts in china show his talent when he can actually shoot the ball
There was a lot more to the situation with Larry Sanders. After his 2nd suspension for a failed drug test he had a mandatory rehab stint, which the Bucks even let him choose his own facility for, which treated a host of mental health issues. He still checked out early. He also got in a fight at a club where he was throwing champagne bottles at peoples' heads and got a hand injury. After he announced a comeback he was waived by the Cavs for missing their flight call out of Miami. Mental health is a serious issue, and one that he's using as an excuse to act like a child
Yooo,Josh Childress,I was watching him live in Euroleague once when he played against my team.Dude was so dominant,he played alongside Patrick Beverly and Miloš Teodosić,however, they never won the Euroleague together.Lamar Odom played in Laboral Kutxa in 2014 season, but had cocaine problems again.
Josh Smith will go down as one the Rockets biggest hopes in the playoffs against the Clippers and Fuck that I will rather have him then Dwight around your lips 😂
What about Deron Williams ? This guy was a Top5 PG in 2012, was then ok in 2013 and kinda started to suck in the following years and now he sits on the bench for the Cavs.
Check out my video about NBA knee injuries and how to prevent them! ua-cam.com/video/qSuu_QYm-nY/v-deo.html
Andy Hoops what about Andrew Bynum
Andy Hoops you should make a video of players that are so garbage that we wonder how they got into the NBA.
"Mayo was on everything"
Do a video on how weight issues killed some player's careers. Some it predisposed them to knee or back issues, or they were simply unable to stay on the court long enough to contribute significantly. Contrast them to similar players who were able to lose the weight and turn out great careers.
Josh Smith still had it, he was just lazy... and eventually people noticed.
I wanted Josh Smith to be a star in Atlanta too. SMH hometown kid who was great at defense and had the athletic ability to be exciting on offense, but never truly developed a jumper, and in spite of that still kept shooting 3's!
Much respect to Sanders for making his mental health more important.
Nice informational video, but I'm still trying to figure out why Nate Robinson isn't in the NBA?!
Wow I thought oj mayo was just smoking weed
Lol hell nawl, NBA ain't gone trip on a natural plant , but OJ had to either be on LSD, Codeine, or MDMA(molly) hard asH
Josh Smith was a beast!
Surprised Andrew bynum wasn't on this list
Estryus Flemming He's still visiting one of those banks in every city.
Do more Weird Statlines

Josh Smith had an amazing comeback with Corey Brewer in 2015. On life!

Wow, I always wondered what happened to Josh Childress. Can't say I blame him for going where the money is, and Olympiacos was smart getting him young, usually overseas teams get the past-prime versions of NBA players.
ESPN needs to put you on, Andy, you've got all the scoops!

Tony Roca W
Josh Smith and Lamar Odom both played 11 plus seasons in the NBA. With injuries and all the miles on the legs thats damn good. OJ Mayo played 8 seasons in the NBA.
Thank you Stephen Marbury!🏆
You should make a video about players who were drafted top 5 and didn't work out example. Anthony Bennett, Wesley Johnson and Thomas Robinson. Like what happened to them what went wrong
Joshuan Rodriguez so basically top 5 NBA draft busts
Derrick Williams, Marvin Williams
You should make a video about people who were in there prime and study on the season that they started to fell of
Do a video where things that happened outside their career, that affected their nba career.
The Kardashians ruined Lamar. Period.
Jimmer might be onto something.... i feel like teams was kinda holding him back. How did he go from avg like 30 in college to being a facilitator who never shoots???? Huh???

Marshon was that dude for the Nets, I totally forgot about him
I remembered this dude the other day lol. I think he plays in China but idk why no NBA team wants him. He's a solid player.
Consider making a video about bad players who managed to win multiple rings. Could you do a video about the injury rate now of NBA stars of this era vs stars of yesteryear?
Do a vid about players who were great then terrible with the wrong coach (hint:Rajon rondo)
Xavier Johnson Sidney Crosby
Steven Yang just won the cup & has multiple wins in the finals so i'll have to disagree

I wish you would've included more players in this...etc, Stromile Swift, Darius Miles, Marcus Banks
Yoo, this particular video thumbnail and video brought back some fond basketball memories.

Can't believe you did a video about weird situations why players are out of NBA without talking about Andrew Bynum
Josh Smith could have been one of the best ever. SF in a PF's body, he dominated just about every other SF he faced in the low post on offense and defense. Nobody could stop him. The new CBA really was for the average players. These players are making 10-15 more than they should be really making, and there's no cap space to sign good veterans. A role player like Otto Porter should never be on that contract.
Josh smith was a borderline superstar when he played with the Hawks. Sad to see him go
Josh smith should still play with Houston, I'll never forget that game 6 comeback
Make a video about role players that had amazing performances on important games. Like Olynick against Wizards
Smith was good and bad when he came here to Detroit. He had good games, costed us a few, and I think his play on the court effected the team's chemistry. I know everytime he would take a 3pt shot, he would have everyone holding their breath and pulling their hair.
Can you do the opposite of the stats that made their career fell off people who became stars from the stats
Is anyone kinda excited if oj mayo comes back
Make a video about how many all star each draft has - which has the most and which has the least amount.

Oj Mayo's situation is just SAD
Great video
Bonzi Wells would've been a nice addition to it also
Wow 3 years 21 mil was once too much for role players in the NBA and Porter is getting 26 mil a year just a decade later. What a world we live in...
You are my favorite bball UA-camr and you should do a story on Brendan Jennings!

You should do a video on NBA players or professional athletes that were charged with serious crimes.
Ty Lawson wasn't out of the league last year. He in fact played for the Kings all season.
What about Daniel Gibson? He use to play for the CAVS
