Saw The First Omen last night, loved the fact they actually shot this in Rome. The architecture helps sell the gravitas of what's happening. As for 2024 I'm going to go with Late Night with the Devil but that may be challenged later on by Abigail, Longlegs, Cuckoo, etc.

I totally agree with you , Jeremy. This film is so much better than I expected! The story is very well told and actress who played Margaret did an incredible job! 5 stars in my books.

Practical effects and no jump scares are whats missing in todays horror movies. The more they add those two elements in this generation horror movies they waaayyy better!
I'm sure it's been said here already, but that great scene you mentioned is a call back to 1981's Possession. It was great here, but you should see the original. It's mind blowing.
Knowing that its a prequel to a movie that's 48 years old at this point with tagline in the poster confidently saying that it is "the most terrifying movie of the year", it's honestly quite shocking that it has been getting a strong positive buzz, but hey good for them 😂
76 Omen is the best Final Destination film ever and still has perhaps the greatest soundtrack ever, so I’m glad this prequel doesn’t suck I thought Damien’s mother was a donkey, though 😂
Glad you enjoyed it. For me. Evil Dead Rise is the best horror movie of the 2020s. Sure that movie came out back in 2023 but my parents and I really love that movie. Heck it's my all time favorite and I gave it a 10 outta 10. The reason why is because the whole movie is incredibly memorable from the opening, to the cast, the sound design, the makeup/practical effects, the music, and the acting was all great. Plus. I'm very excited for the upcoming sequel. It will start filming near the end of this year and will be releasing to the public next year in October 31st (perfect timing) 2025 and they said that the actresses that played Beth and Cassie will make a return.
The hand coming out of the vagina was unnecessary. It also suffers the same curse that all prequels suffer: we all know Damian is born and doesn’t die h til he fights Jesus in omen 3 as an adult. There were no stakes

Hmm, a rare horror movie actually being good? Wow! Also, I respect Jeremy for pointing out the film score (the orchestrated music).
This gives me hope.
The music honestly gives so much atmosphere to the film, it was great
Not so rare. 2022 and 2023 were both fantastic years for horror. This year is finally picking up now it seems
This last decade has been a tremendous uptick for the horror genre. The 1990s/2000s were extremely rough. We are getting original ideas and somewhat decent sequels.
@Outpost31Research totally agree but there's always many people out there thats too skeptical about horror movie?😂 i mean come on,give it a chance dont be too negative lol
Saw this at the first showing at my local cinema. Really enjoyed it - the tension definitely mounts throughout. Much much better than Immaculate too (which I saw earlier this week!)
LMAO rarely comment but the jumpscare + VHS gag were too good! Thank you brother 😂
Worth buying on VHS. This channel is finally starting to move up in the world 😂
This is the longest my "want to watch" list has been in years. Thank you, Jeremy. I'll keep this one on the list. ❤
Right? Feels like movies are finally making a comeback. Excited!
I wasn't expecting this movie to get a good review. I'm definitely watching this at the theater on my birthday this Sunday.
But Damian's biological mother was a jackal. It's a major plot point in the first 3 films.
That was my first thought, too. Hopefully it's addressed in some way.
Maybe it's metaphorical lmao.
@@casthedemonits not if you watch the first Omen they find a gravesite in which obtains a jackals skeleton
@@jaylenmanuel3145 never seen it.
@@casthedemon its an absolute classic. The first Omen definitely seems like it could work for people who haven’t seen the first movie but i highly recommend seeing the original.
You should do a review on Immaculate. Also a surprisingly very good horror released this year
Loved the intro Mr. Jahns😅.
excellent addition of ghost-Jeremy to the channel! 😅
3:18 Jeremy Ju-Ons jump scare warning. You're welcome. 😌
5:41 Here too if you make it that far.
You’re so lame
Jeremy Ju-On! I love it! 😂
@@sunside7 I was trying to figure out a good name for the face he makes during the jump scare, started picturing The Grudge, and as soon as I realized just how perfectly his surname of "Jahns" matches up with "Ju-On," I took it and ran! Glad it's being appreciated. 😎😊
@DJtheBlack-RibbonedRose Oh it was a stroke of genius 😂 Also, thanks for the time stamp for the 2nd jump scare, would have missed it for sure otherwise! I wonder how many other Easter eggs in Jeremy's videos I might have missed. Has this pulled this stuff before?
@@sunside7 Hee hee, thanks. And you're welcome; I wasn't aware of it myself until I read another comment because I stopped the video after Jeremy finished talking, but once I went back and checked, figured I'd add that one too. I'm aware of at least one other video where he made a point about jump-scares by reenacting them, and I do think he may have included one at the very end, but I'd have go back to it and look.
The movie is amazing. Got a lot of graphic though. Arguably the best prequel from a horror franchise. The only thing is that the movie is predictable.
I mean it's a prequel, of course it is predictable.
I mean, the nature of it being a prequel and what it's about, it kinda needs to be at least a bit predictable, definitely regarding the ending.
Also Damien's mum is a jackal.

Fact! @@albanier8426
I never get on this channel and not be entertained! 😂😂
I'm also surprised this turned out to be good, but now I'm excited.
I totally agree with you , Jeremy. This film is so much better than I expected! In particular the way the director recreated the 1970s cinematography was remarkable and it gave it this vintage looks from the original film. The story is very well told and actress who played Margaret did an incredible job! 5 stars in my books.
0:30: soooo…I thought Damian’s mother was a jackal.
Not anymore. It's been retconned.
6am. Jeremy review is out… alright, guess I’ll sleep another night
I doubt it was 6am when this came up for you
I don't know what you're saying.
Are you saying that you stayed awake until 6am waiting for this review... because that's dumb. Or are you saying that this 5 minute video was so long that by the time it finished, it was 6am, and thus too late to go to bed now? What are you saying? I can't go to sleep until I find out.
@@Michael_Ian_Blackface i could tell you but id rather you lose sleep over it
Cool. Thanks for the review Jeremy.
Wow, I'm surprised. I love your reviews, we are pretty close in opinion on most things. I guess this is something I may need to check out.
Practical effects and no jump scares are whats missing in todays horror movies. The more they add those two elements in this generation horror movies they waaayyy better!
This month is awesome we have:
- The First Omen
- Monkey Man
- Civil War
2024 is going to be the next 2014 well let see hehe
Don’t forget Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare
LATE NIGHT WITH THE DEVIL
@danielfrank2985 - Guy Ritchie is hit or miss (mostly miss) but I hope it’s good

I'm sure it's been said here already, but that great scene you mentioned is a call back to 1981's Possession. It was great here, but you should see the original. It's mind blowing.
first 10 seconds😂😂😂😂😂
been watching your channel for years and still great hair!
Knowing that its a prequel to a movie that's 48 years old at this point with tagline in the poster confidently saying that it is "the most terrifying movie of the year", it's honestly quite shocking that it has been getting a strong positive buzz, but hey good for them 😂
76 Omen is the best Final Destination film ever and still has perhaps the greatest soundtrack ever, so I’m glad this prequel doesn’t suck
I thought Damien’s mother was a donkey, though 😂
you mean a jackal. :p
@@SaRENRampaigerthat’s right! lol
The whispering paired with the music was crazy! In my theater I could hear whispering all around me, and it was pretty freaky!
That jump scare by you was actually really good
So good to hear. I’ll see it in theaters. I actually really liked the 2006 Omen that came out on 6-6-06. Such a cool movie event.
Everything about this review is great and why I tune in 👏🏻
Since VHS is now in the lexicon of Jeremy, then I'd love to see worth buying on Betamax, Laser Disc, and CED.
The hand coming out of the vagina was unnecessary. It also suffers the same curse that all prequels suffer: we all know Damian is born and doesn’t die h til he fights Jesus in omen 3 as an adult. There were no stakes
Is me or is the promo for the first Omen and monkey man is the same promo 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔😂😂😂😂????
I like how you jacket comes together at the collar off and on making you look like a priest while reviewing The First Omen.
3:18 shit man! Dat jumpscare came out of nowhere, I nearly died laughing! 🤣
Damn I must been only one that thought this movie was pointless and doesn’t add any relevance to the overall franchise 😅 aww well. Glad others enjoyed it. 2/10 for me
Don't feel bad.
@@Tomy_Yon it just seemed a lot of other UA-camr praised this movie. I must have missed something
@RejectedHeroesMedia Why? If you had another experience, you can have your opinion. That's perfectly fine.
