Argh!! I felt it when that headlight shattered. Will hopefully be elbow deep in similar pain this weekend rewiring my Serveta. I will pay extra attention to the light switch installation (from Casa of course)
I bought a Casa series 3 LI switch and like you I thought I was buying the best, however mine came with the added feature of the horn sounding when I tightened the screws. Quality item.
My Casa Lambretta light switch lasted like 3 months. Replaced with a Scootopia switch, that actually clicks when you use the dip switch. Oh, and there you have, too. :)
I bought a casa switch it was just as crap as a cheapo one, it had no wire for the horn. Like being in the 80’s when everything was made out of cream cheese. I also bought a bulb holder which had connections made out of cheese. My handle bar rods are MB they are machined down in the middle for more room for cables. I always drill rivets out off break switches and replace with screws and nuts.
Ouch....Hey I just noticed neither of your scoots have spot or fog lights on front legshields! I think you mentioned Norway's road laws? Any video on how best to install a set of legshield lights while we are on topic of lights!
I had a switch fail after a year so I now use a relay to take the load off the switch. You shouldn’t have to and the relay is something else to go wrong but automotive ones are very reliable . Of course as ever space is the problem , I have a very slim ( made for the never produced SX twin) leg shield tool box and it’s only function is to house my battery, relays for lights, spots and air horn along with warning lights and power outlets. It’s Sod’s Law that what should have been an unnecessary repair leads to accidental damage to your light. Come on Casa, do the right thing and send the bloke a new light.
Rob, would you happen to know if series 3 Lambretta leg shields are shorter for chrome ring frames? I have 67 SX 150 which has a gap above horncasting but is snug on legshield side. Lower headset I think is chrome ring type the but frame none chrome ring and not sure which is wrong bit
After all that "Faffin about" replacing the switch and watching your Headlight fall onto the floor, I really felt for you Rob. So bloody annoying 😡. Deep breath mate
It happens to all of us that’s why I watch just raw did laugh though,not to sound knobby why not just solder the existing switch cables to the new next time?
I’ve been pricking about with some DC wiring on a gp so watching you grapple with this is in some way therapeutic.

I have a new casa Lambretta Series 2 headlight. You could use just the glas and reflector. I don’t need it.
