    **NOTES**
    - Lotta comments asking how paper and stuff changes if the past doesn't change. To that I can offer only two possible explanations. Either A) It's a situation like Azar + the Akasha where the Akasha tricked him into not seeing Nahida in the Sanctuary when she was there, or B) Irminsul can physically alter the present only which includes any texts that exist currently. I don't have a perfect answer though.

    • @YanYancore
      @YanYancore Рік тому +15

      Irminsul seems to can't change or erase solid things. Unlike texts and memories, just like writing on a paper. To create a new storyline we need to erase it but the thing is about erasing is that it left bits and pieces of it old self. Memories are a network, it can be seen just like a nerve system. Irminsul looks like a nerve to me, it can create new memories and make people forget the old one. By new memories i meant as in the memories without the thing that people wanted to erase.
      Another theory about the gnosis, maybe it can be seen as a loop. If Tsaritsa managed to change the past then maybe the other twin was the one that wakes up first.. Idk but it seems like that to me

    • @Hat_shaped
      @Hat_shaped Рік тому +11

      When I played the quest I took the pot breaking as fate, you can't change the past because the outcome will always occur even if the process is different ?
      So the new history of the Raiden Gokuden isn't just fabricated new memories but the new history of what actually happened, but the outcome is the same

    • @myfangirlsensesaretingling1314
      @myfangirlsensesaretingling1314 Рік тому +12

      @@Hat_shaped then if it's like that, the words "trust your own memories" won't have any meaning if the process is different. that's why i agree that what happened in the past still happened, people just remember it differently because of the tree's alternation.

      Texts in books and other written sources, are also information. And when a subject picks up a book, he does not see the text, it "appears" there only after he has observed it. And when the subject observes the text, it already fits the current model of information. Irminsul controls information on a quantum level.
      Well that's how I explained it to myself.
      Information determines perception.

    If Sumeru was the point where the story started to get serious, Fontaine is probably going to be where the shit hits the fan. The Tsaritsa’s voice maybe? That’s my best guess other than Istaroth. With the tone of the voice that seems to really hate the current state of this world, the voice sounded dead inside like many people describe Tsaritsa. Once a loving god, now she hardened her heart and there’s no more love she can give.
    Since the traveler will eventually get to Snezhnaya and probably meet her. I would say doing something like dropping off a massive bomb for us to really question this world and remember what we saw and created this internal conflict so she can easily get us to join her side and rebel against the heavens. Massive manipulation per say. Since after the voice the traveler seems to even question their own memories.

    Nahida's story quest and the world created in the dream by the Akasha for me is a lite version of tevyat. I think visions give enough energy to maintain the world from falling apart (which happened in the quest to the fake world) and once the person was removed from Akasha they woke up. Which for me means that if a person can be removed from Irminsol they will wake up somewhere. That means that Teyvat is nothing but a world created within a dream. And fatui harbingers and archons who are with them( giving them gnosis) are the ones who" dare to dream within the dream" i.e. they plan to unplug themselves from Irminsol. For me this is going the route of the matrix.

Lets say the past changed by the Tsaritsa that way, so that the primordial one fought the second who came, won, *and then* have to fight 7 dragon sovereigns *again* , which will drain the primordial one *and* all shades power. The conclusion will be to make 7 dragon sovereigns rule again, which also means vishap era starts again. However the story goes, or what fight it will be, or whatever, the point is that the past will be changed so that primordial one and the shades lose and have to leave teyvat with all the rules and authority revoked *or* being used against them. But then again, no matter the outcome, 7 dragon sovereigns rule once more would prove too hard for humans etc to survive, which makes the travelers journey be longer than just meeting the archons, but also the sovereigns, the old world before archon war that has been transposed into the current world, etc. Too long of a stretch so I'll digress. So Irminsul is basically a computer, it's roots extend into the Abyss...
    "The root folder, also called the root directory or sometimes just the root, of any partition or folder is the "highest" directory in the hierarchy. You can also think of it in general as the start or beginning of a particular folder structure.
    The root directory contains all other folders in the drive or folder, and can, of course, also contain files. You can visualize this with an upside-down tree where the roots (the root folder) are at the top and the branches (subfolders) fall below; the root is what holds together all of its lower items."
    "The root file system is the top of the hierarchical file tree. It contains the files and directories critical for system operation, including the device directory and programs for booting the system. The root file system also contains mount points where file systems can be mounted to connect to the root file system hierarchy."

    Wait, could the voice be gold? We know she obviously has an understanding of teyvat deeper than most and since she is from khaenri'ah, she may have some experience with this.(this is because I believe that khaenri’ah might have tried something similar at the time which may have ended up in disaster leading to the intervention of celestia) in addition, the voice remarks “unfortunately, the fate of this world can not be changed easily, but perhaps a god might be able to” she seems as she has experienced failures of this project and as we know khaenri’ah was a nation without gods so she may be stating that this was a fatal flaw of their plan. Als this may relate to the loom of fate operation that the abyss is trying to achieve. Maybe this is their new attempt at this after their failure in the past and may have something to do with Dains line in the teravail trailer about the threads of fate being ours to reweave which sounds a lot like redoing and changing the past especially because of the word reweave.

      Gold is more about Art of Khemia, so if it is someone from Hexenzirkel, cos they all understand Teyvat deeper than most of the people and we do not know how old are other Witches (but some), then Old Hag is the most obvious suspect here, she is Hydromancer and the best one, so she is familiar to Time, Fate and Stars, that's actually her specialization in Hexenzirkel.
      Also Skirk may be a suspect, cos we do not know much about her specialization, but that she investigates Abyss, but Gold unlikely, cos Time, Stars, Fate are not her specialization, at least from what we know for now.

    My guess of the disembodied voice is the Sustainer of Heavenly Principles. She is also a Descender and would know of the effects of edits in Irminsul. If you listen to the intro and the scene at the end of the quest, they are very similar voices. She says Fate is something that is quite difficult to change, perhaps that it may be a Heavenly Principle, that she felt inclined to give a nudge that we are scratching close to something important.

    Wild as it sounds, I believe the voice at the end was Rukkhadevata, and I have some reasons for believing this.
    First of all, the speech mannerisms in which the voice speaks. The voice speaks in metaphors just as Nahida does; "When a small animal runs into a tree trunk, though the tree may sway, it is not displaced. The same is true of fate. Like a vase that falls to the ground. Whether it is broken by a cat or by a bird, the result is still a broken vase, is it not?" This alone isn't enough to drive a conclusion, but it got me thinking.
    If Irminsul does not change the past but changes one's perception of the past, then the spirit of a forgotten god is still one who remains. We've seen this before- Orobashi's spirit remaining to rage on Yashiori island is evidence that gods still exhibit some presence on Teyvat even after death, and this is only one of numerous examples of this phenomenon.
    Now, using the metaphor-not so metaphor of Irminsul being a computer/server, imagine that you have a folder of files interacting with one another, and suddenly, the computer sends one of the files to the trash to delete it. No longer can a user open the file- it's in the trash, and likewise, files cannot interact with anymore. To them, it's as good as gone. But an outsider to this system- the user themselves, or the traveler in this metaphor, can still visibly see the file in the trash can, even if they can't open it. And what of the file itself?
    Well, it's still a file. A file can't be taught to forget itself- it is itself. It's a catch-22. Irminsul may allow all to forget about your existence and to rewrite the memory of history- but it cannot void your existence entirely. And so, Rukkhadevata remains in spirit, forgotten by all but no less real. And if Nahida kept a backup of Scaramouche's existence, what's to say there isn't a backup of Rukkhadevata somewhere?
    By following this logic, it makes a lot of sense why the voice would say what she said to us. Reading through the wording- in particular, "Unfortunately, the fate of Teyvat cannot easily be changed. Perhaps a god may have a slim chance, but for anyone else... who can say." In this scope, it sounds almost regretful with the use of the word "unfortunately", as if Rukkhadevata were to lament her own "passing". And why bring up "perhaps a god may have a slim chance" when this recent incident involving Scaramouche was post-godhood for him? This to me at the very least narrows the list of candidates to gods or greater beings speaking to us.
    Not really sure what else to make of it. But I should also mention as a completely different side note-
    Scaramouche instructed Irminsul to forget the names Balladeer and Kunikuzushi. He did not instruct it to forget the name Scaramouche. Whether this is an oversight or not remains to be seen, but I doubt this was unintentional. Maybe this is so that the Fatui do not forget him, but the rest of the world does. Maybe he wants them to remember his name, as his next step seems to be to seek revenge on Dottore.

      @@MiyuKawasaki but was she? You'd think that if the entire existence of an archon were entirely deleted that the space time continuum would be actively shifted. Remember that the question is of rewriting history, not rewriting memories. But besides everyone forgetting of Rukkhadevata's existence, the world remained unchanged. All the things that Rukkhadevata did were now shifted to things that Nahida did. As did the world with Scaramouche after "wiping" his existence. The difference is that the Traveler went to see the effects that this extended to to fill in the gaps of Scaramouche's absence. Given the things that Rukkhadevata did happened hundreds of years before the game's events, the traveler has no way of going back to ask the people in the same way they did with Scaramouche. And so it's not quite verifiable that Rukkhadevata and Scaramouche are different cases given our current knowledge.

      @MiyuKawasaki Рік тому

      Scara only deleted the memories of everyone, but he's still alive
      Rukkha deleted the memories too, which in her case means she doesn’t exist anymore and is 'dead'
      Of course rukkha did exist at some point and the only thing that changed were memories. This is true for both cases. Scara didn't erase himself entirely though, only the names Balladeer, Scaramouche, and Kabukimono. (btw I wonder why he didn't mention Kunikuzushi? Kuni killed the Raiden Gokaden but in the new timeline someone else killed them, so Kuni was erased too)

    • @ariaaceves6073
      @ariaaceves6073 Рік тому +1

      @@MiyuKawasaki The archon quest actually addresses this. In the Kabukimono's Finale (part 3/4 of Inversion of Genesis), the Traveler experiences an epiphany; "Yes, that was it! Greater Lord Rukkhadevata- she said that no one can erase themselves from existence, not even her. Otherwise, why would she need to create her own reincarnation in Lesser Lord Kusanali to do the deletion for her? There'd be no point."
      Understand that while this sounds as if it's needed to have more than oneself to be deleted, that Nahida is a reincarnation of Rukkhadevata, and as such, share the same soul. Irminsul pays heavy mind to the soul, or else it would not allow for lingering resentful souls like Orobashi to remain. If a soul can exist without a body, it means that Irminsul can separate a soul from its being- it's a Samsara, not a different entity, if the soul is to inhabit a new vessel. And pay mind additionally to the wording of the voice at the end of the archon quest: "the fate of Teyvat cannot easily be changed. Perhaps a god may have a slim chance, but for anyone else... who can say." Bringing up that a god *may* or may not have the ability to change the course of history is important here, because it gives us some insight to who's talking here. We know there are four descenders, and we're one of them. The other three, who knows who they are. Now I ask you, why would there be any relevance in bringing up that a god may be able to succeed, if they were not referencing the deletion of Rukkhadevata? Is this one of the descenders talking then? Maybe. But to me it makes more sense and is more concrete that this is the self aware musing of Rukkhadevata who tried to delete herself and did not fully have the chance to succeed, knowing that she was a god who tried and failed to change the course of Teyvat's fate.

    Regarding the voice at the end i believe it could belong to tsaritsa..and my reason is sort of hidden in qiqi's vision story-
    Qiqi's Vision was given to her in the last moment of her life.
    She wanted to stop the clock from turning. She wanted to live happily again.
    She feared death. She wanted to live. She missed her family... These feelings coalesced at last into "ice."
    "If only I could freeze time... How wonderful would that be?"
    As she thought thus, tears fell from the moribund girl's eyes upon the Vision that had appeared before her.
    The mighty and illuminated adepti all acknowledged this as a legitimate form of "illumination" - the yearning of humanity for bygone days is, after all, a desire to protect that past.
    The important points are-
    -She wanted to stop the clock from turning. (freeze time or something or someone in time?)
    -These feelings coalesced at last into "ice." (can something as abstract as feelings can be turned into literal ice?)
    -"If only I could freeze time... How wonderful would that be?" (again freezing time)
    - a desire to protect that past. (maybe ashikai's theory of rewinding time and changing the past?)
    This piece of text has a lot of reference to time.
    Could it be possible that the cryo gnosis gives tsaritsa a sort of immunity to tampering of memories by freezing the memories in ice (time?) or sort of something like that?
    I am just rambling here it is after all a massive stretch.

      Anyway the second part is in Honkai theres there growing tree and the ever expanding sea (time and space?) but maybe if a section was froze would it solidify time or even create a little bubble/block of time? Basically if cryo was unnatural maybe it would have those powers?
      Sorry these are kinda my random thoughts as a addon to what you said. Ah another addition too, Ashikai talked about colours in another video and how they work, light bounces off ice could that be used to alter how what happened is seen?

Hmmm, but he didn’t get his cryo vision until way after that. Idk, just some thoughts

    I feel like the traveler would have talked about waking up in Khaenriah if they were ever kept there (even if in cryo sleep). Since they remember everything up to being captured by Susty, it'd be pretty odd if they never mention remembering Khaenriah even a bit. My theory is they were both summoned by Khaenriah but were intercepted by Susty. Thats when the games opening happened. But she couldn't hold us both for too long in her little blocks. And because the twins seemed to possess some otherworldly power, she didn't wanna risk them teaming up further in the future. So, with the help of Istaroth, she sent the traveler into the future whilst the abyss twin broke out of the prison and found themselves on Khaenriah. That was how "a god can change the timeline" but for real, no memory deletion or anything required. I mean, if anyone, might as well be the god of time herself right? Plus, isn't that how the great Narukami tree sprouted as well? Actual change in history instead of a memory insertion/deletion? Back on topic, I think her statements about "The end of the arrogation of humans" was just how she was angry and she was going to destroy Khaenriah. She got real mad about the summoning and decided to destroy them for it.
    Now continuing from my tangent, I think the only "god" that can do the actual changes in the timeline is The God of Time. She already proved it by helping Makoto create the seed for the great Narukami tree. And I think that in itself is a confirmation that the voice we hear in the game is not Istaroth herself. I'm gonna go with the 2nd most boring answer and say its Focalor. I know, rehashing the same kinda teasers from the Nahida is very lazy, but I don't expect much more from Hoyoverse.

    the things the voice said reminded me of what zhongli said at the end of this quest. Something along the lines of "I want you (the traveler) to be the witness to history". Which is really interesting bc he could be talking about erosion and how he might die soon so he won't be able to continue telling stories of the past but this also raises the question if traveler is immune to erosion which would mean we are entirely some other entity that is not immortals or gods. Another point is how did zhongli know this. What I'm saying is that both original archons have suggested that they have met us before (venti's voiceline about remembering him) and if I remember correctly the tsaritsa is also an original archon. Maybe she have met us before and that voice was her trying to remind or warn us and maybe get us on her side.

They will do whatever it takes and don't care how much they pay for it. Now that I think of it, it would be a great motivation for the harbingers too. We know that they are very different yet somehow they came together and are united with one goal. They all could want to change the past. We don't know much about all the harbingers, but Pierro obviously would want that. What brings us to idea that all antagonists (and not only them) are pursuing one goal - to change the fate. Abyss order and our sibling and Fatui. And since we know that protagonist will likely the one to reweave the fate/change the past. So it looks like everyone wants one thing

    10:47 The "the twins are actually aliens that were called by an SOS signal coming from khaenri'ah and traveled across the cosmos in their private spaceship" part seems a little bit far fetched, ngl. However, what does seem more plausible is that the twins were summoned not by a signal, but a wish, like we literally do to get more characters and weapons. We literally wish (summon) upon the heavens (the literal sky we see in every pulling animation) for them to bring into the world (our own world) a being from beyond the stars (the character we get literally didn't exist in or account before pulling for them, so they were "not from this/our world"). And if you look closely to that same animation you showed in that part that's literally how the twins made it into teyvat, they fell from the sky in shinning golden meteorites because they are 5* characters, and because they arrived in that way it means that they were summoned in a similar manner to how we summon characters.

    I really like the idea of the Alien traveler, but I am still not sure about Pierrot being in a disagreement of the Sages since he mentionned the "Old World" as the final resting place of Signora and with the space theory the OId World could sound like the current planet.
    And to add to the rewrite the past, in the Teyvat story preview, Dainsleif wants to you to defeat him and reweave fate. At many times, the term God or rather Divine is used to mean Celestia not the Archons so my understanding was that the voice meant that the Celestia could change the past.
    As for the identity of the voice, I thought it could be Focalors since what she said could be relevant in Fontaine(focus on the objective evidence during a trial) but she herself should also have been affected by Irminsul so that narrows it down to the descenders and its not Alice nor the Sustainer.

      Makes sense, all zones have somekind of magical beasts "protecting" them (in Inazuma technically it's Yae Miko, she is a Beast... in any meaning....), so Great Tortoise of Time also may be such a creature of Sumeru.

    The most interesting detail I'm considering from the Interlude Quest was in the storybook of Scaramouche's memories. In particular, the Doctor's appearance looking more than anything like a creature from the Abyss, either an Abyss Mage or maybe a Samachurl of sorts, wearing a fox(human) disguise. Considering Genshin's track record for detail. I'd find it hard to believe this wasn't meant as any sort of foreshadowing. Also his clear lack of concern for the harm he may cause people seems completely divorced from the general, at least theorized, idea that the Fatui are working for the greater good of humanity. There's the additional detail that out of all the Harbingers he ranks 2nd. Even over Columbina who, if theory crafting is correct, should be a particularly powerful individual with potential connections to the divine. Yet, a scholar/scientist somehow ranks higher than, not just her but, virtually all other Harbingers despite having no known special powers, connections or bloodline to suggest he should be anything special beyond a normal human. Even a being like the Crimson Witch or a master of all weaponry like Tartaglia rank significantly lower in terms of power or capability. A creature from the Abyss having weird/untold powers would make some sense but, a simple academic doesn't quite add up. If anything, it seems to suggest he'll play a particularly large role later in the story. Given that he doesn't seem to have any special reason for being so significantly powerful. That even a being designed by a god in order to be a god not only ranked lower but could be toyed with & raised to godhood by him & still he would not consider that made god a significant threat to either himself or the Fatui's overall goals, if it should be any concern at all, is all highly suspicious. Keep in mind, Childe was tasked with tracking down the Balladeer after he scurried off with the Gnosis. Yet, the Doctor was working, either with special permission or entirely in secret, with the Balladeer on this secret project in Sumeru. Also, in the 'A Winter Nights Lazzo' trailer Dottore is directly asked about Scaramouche, possibly having been given Childe's task after his failure to produce results in Inazuma, & gives a vague mention of Scara's goals but, conveniently neglects to mention any contact or collusion with him.

      Yeah the the 2.2 and the Winter night Lazzo trailer... isn't really explained like why did they ask Tartaglia to serach for the gnosis if in the end everything is mostly in control ( mostly by Il Dottore and Pierro ) and i am not sure that Dottore really worked alone with the sages in that experiment... i guess we are going to wait and see if they explain the thing or not ( in 3.3 it only show Scaramouche being ready to be connected to the robot with Dottore and some of the sages... without knowing the prior event )

      Id like to throw a giant guess with very little to back it up but, does it not make sense for Dottore to be from Khaenri'ah? Here's an even more of a wild guess: Does trying to create a synthetic being capable of reaching divinity not sound familiar? What's the only project in the game or comics who's end goal is reaching godhood?
      The primordial human project.
      Rhinedottir has (from what we know) only reached the Albedo stage in her project, but what if Dottore and her share the same end goal? And what if they just went about it in different ways?
      This is me just making up a theory as an extention of an existing theory i already have about Celestia trying to change the timeline to avoid the responsibility of the Abyss destroying Teyvat, and how Pierro is an Abyssal creature, I'd talk about it if you're interested lol

    First thought after hearing that voice was, it has to be Focalors. For no other reason than Fontaine will be our next stop. The Archons do know a lot more about what is going on, and they don‘t necessarily share everything with us. Prime example being Zhongli who actually tells us he is not allowed to because of some previous contract. It is hard to say if Focalors as the god of justice will feel compelled to abide by such a contract as well, or if she thinks that justice is rather served by sharing this with the traveler?
    If not Focalors, it might be one of the other Archons we have not met yet. My second guess would be the Tsaritsa.

    I wonder if the Tsarista doesn't need the gnosis for time alteration but maybe using all of the gnosis, she may be able to get records of the old world and use that to safely understand forbidden knowledge and recreate the old world. Kinda in line with the Hexenzirkel video.

    Okay so let me get this right. I knew they couldn't change the effects of the past but all this time I understood it as "if you broke a vase and then took yourself out of irminsul someone else would have broken the vase because it has To be done. (Thats why the books change) BUT what you're saying is that it doesn't change history at all but from the moment you are erased from irminsul the memory's are kind of semi-corrupted, so books and people put a random name to fill in the void even though the person who broke the vase never changed

    • @wenbolu6157

    • @unsecretcrush
      @unsecretcrush Рік тому

      Things like written books or Kaedehara Yoshinori's letter changing are examples I personally find easier to understand, because there is no one currently alive who would have directly witnessed the events in question, making it infinitely easier to "alter history." Instead of Kunikuzushi attacking the Raiden Gokaden, Irminsul created a plausible substitute to assign blame to in all written records, and no one in the current time would be able to realize that was incorrect. Where living people's memories of things they did themselves are concerned I get a little more confused, but I still think it makes the most sense that the events of the past do not actually change, just the memories relating to them.

    One thing that might be interesting to ponder about with the information of what the outlanders brought in relation to Teyvat... is how the 'world' of Teyvat is really just a single continent.
    While I doubt there was much beyond what currently exists(in terms of Humanity on this world), I can't help but wonder now if part of what made Teyvat be identified as a continent + chain of islands rather than the entire world... is the outlanders. With how the Dark Sea has islands that seemingly struggle to stay afloat(assuming all / most islands are like the GAA), it may be that they were only able to stabilize the single continent and the island chain(and not even all of it, since Enkanomiya exists).
    For the voice... I don't really know. I like Istaroth because of the connection to time she already has(not to mention the recent importance the story has given her). But for a wild guess that's likely incorrect... maybe a moon sister? She might've tried to alter time to save the others(maybe while she was dying) but only managed to save herself(aka why she said only a small chance, she knows minor changes CAN occur, but the outcome can't have been decided). Knowing that there are likely still some people out there who could know about the fact she was supposed to die, she hid herself away. It would explain why as of now we've only ever seen two of the three moons.

    I thought the voice was Istaroth at the beginning but looking at people's comments and believing that Istaroth is just too big to say anything right now in the story. I think it's more likely someone like Tsaritsa or maybe someone like Rhinedotter or Mona's Master.

    There's also the Sacred Sakura Tree that Ei retrospectively planted in the past from Makoto's seed (possibly made with help from Istaroth) to help cleanse the filth in Inazuma. That is fairly solid evidence that with enough power you can make physical changes to the past which tangibly impact the future.

    i think the voice was focalor (or however you spell it) because she says to ONLY trust what the traveller sees for themselves, and since the next region of fontaine is the nation of justice and that there’s a good chance we’re going to be participating in trials, i can see this factor playing a role!! perhaps something will happen and someone erases everyone’s memory of them and how the occurrence happened as a means of getting away with their actions, however the traveller will be the only one who knows the truth !!! i also think what she said about “it doesn’t matter who what or why the vase was broken, what matters is that it’s broken” (not verbatim). But that’s my theory!!

    I think she more refers to the fact that mortal beings such as archons and humans are not able to change the past or rather the present’s reflection of the past to the extends where physical beings and such are changed but rather only changes to textual information or the interpretation of textual information and so on.
    One point that does reflect this is that when the traveller dies they’re summoned at a statue of the seven or so on.
