Hi just subscribed to your channel because I love the way you present your cooking skills I'm an ex Army cook and boy do I love to cook, I have two boys that love to eat my food. anyway as always I always give a thumbs up 👆 and I can't wait to see how the dumplings 🥟 turn-out and look forward to eating your food thank you.
Every hand-rolled wrapper I have ever eaten has seemed thick and pasty that's the magic of machine-rolled wrappers... they are on another level. Some food products are far better when machine made and dumpling wrappers are one of them.
Thanks so much for your informative recipe and demonstration. If you make wrappers before needing to put together dumplings to eat, and I brush them with starch, and put in ziplock bag, how long will them last in the refrigerator? hours or days? Thanks again!
I have had a lot success using number 3 method but I use my pasta roller. I roll long sheet cutting 12 each time. I get consistence thickness each time.
@Kelly Vincent I use a 3” cookie cutter. I try to keep my dough 4” wide on my pasta roller (kitchen aid) I go to number 3 or four. I found 2 or 1 two thin. A little trial and error and you will find out what works for you. In my 2 person household we love pot stickers and have a great time making them together. We make 60 each Pork, chicken and shrimp and freeze them. Good luck and I hope this works for you.
I am about to try these and I'm very excited. I am delighted to find a video that suggests you can use a cookie cutter; I never quite understood why it was never suggested. Thank you! Other recipes that I look at recommend that you use hot water; almost too hot to touch. I know that you did not suggest that. So does it really matter? Thank you for any additional advice.
Thank you for the question! Both room-temperature water and hot water work for dumping wrappers. Room-temperature water produces chewier and stronger wrappers. We use these mostly for boiled dumplings. While hot water makes softer and thinner wrappers. We use these mostly for potstickers and steamed dumplings. I hope this helps a bit. ☺️✨
Thank you for your wonderful recipes...I have subscribed to your channel since I came across your videos last year...do you have a recipe for won ton wrappers?
Thanks so much for your support! I haven't made wonton wrappers yet. I'll keep that in mind. In the mean time, here's a wonton noodle soup recipe: ua-cam.com/video/XnR49gH1xjQ/v-deo.html :) :) :)

Thank you for watching! Let's learn to make some dumpling wrappers! Here's the written recipe: cicili.tv/dumpling-wrappers-from-scratch/
Tip--brush your wrappers with corn starch to keep them from sticking. Corn starch prevents gluten formation, unlike flour.
Yep. You could also use cornstarch ☺️👍
I also use cornstarch for dusting
I do that and it works when you need to store them too
potato starch also works
CiCiLi- you are a wonderful person! Thanh you for teaching.

Do you use plain flour to roll out wrappers?

Happy New Year to you and your family too! 🎊🙏☺️
And easier method to get the dough round and fast, would be to use a tortilla press. Yup, the same one used to make mexican tortillas.
Thank you Stacy have a happy new year please stay safe and be good
It was great chatting with you too! Best wishes!
I love method number 1 , I make these often now. Thank you! ❤

Can you specify weight of All purpose flour in grams and water in millimetre.
Thanks for the suggestion! We’ll improve on it 😊👍
Pls if u can mention about water was it hot warm or cold many thanks🙏🏽❤️
Thanks for asking! I used room temperature water. Happy cooking! ☺️🥟
Shoukd we add baking powder or yeast to dough?
Which method do you prefer? We're going to try this today! Thank you.👍
Method 1 is a traditional method for the Northern Chinese. Method 2 and 3 are definitely easier. ☺️👍
@@CiCiLi I tried #1, need so much skill I'm not at that level yet lol. I like #2 for now but still need more practice as they came out too thick.
Thank you for the video,😊😊😊

Can I ask?what is the size of your selicon mat?Thank in advance to your answer..
Awesome useful video super
Thank you so much 🙂
What is on the cutting board? flour or starch? looks more finely powdered than the flour I am using.
You could use both: cornstarch (or other types) and flour. Happy cooking!
thank you 💙

Is this desame dough for frying or boiling
Thank you
Welcome! ☺️

Happy New Year! 🎊
Can you make the dough the night before?
Great video! When the dough is resting does it need to be chilling(in the refrigerator)?
You can rest it under room temperature. ☺️
Do u refrigerate them while resting them
It’s best to rest the dough at room temperature. Happy cooking! ☺️
What temperature for water
gut gemacht! Arigato!
Is the water warm or room temperature water?
I used room temperature water. ☺️
I can finally impress my girlfriends parents wooo thank you
Yay! 😊👍👍
Where can I get the mat with the measurements on it ?
I got mine on Amazon. 😊🥟
@@CiCiLi I looked I couldn’t find it….if you can find the link I would appreciate it
is there a difference between using boiling water vs room temperature water?
I believe when you use hot water, instead of room temperature, it softens the dough better than when it’s just simply wet
Is the water cold or warm?
Thanks for asking! I used room temperature water. 😊
Thank😘
Thanks and happy Sunday ☺️
🥰.
how bout wonton wrappers??
kindly tech us how to make it.
thank you ☺️💗
That’s a great suggestion! Thank you! 💛
i’m confused, it says 2/3 cup water but you seem to use 1/3?
I used 2/3 cup. It’s correct. 😀
hot cold or what water?
Can use plain flour?
Yes, I used all-purpose flour (plain flour).
Tq cici li teacher
How thick this wrapper should be?
Hi, how come yeast is NOT used?
If you added yeast, then the wrappers would be fluffy. They will turn into pancakes. ☺️
How many cups of flour?
:) Dumpling dough:
2 cups all-purpose flour, and additional dusting
2/3 water (a little more or less depends on the humidity level)
1/3 teaspoon salt
Thank you from israel
Is the water warm or room temperature please? anybody😊
I used room temperature water. Thanks for asking! :D
I always wonder what are those circle rings for?
They are dumpling wrappers ☺️🥟
How much 2 cups of flour is?
I have 100 different types of cups? Wth? ⅓ of cup? 1 litre cup, ½ litre cup? gr. & kg. Please
👍🏻
What type of flour
I used all purpose flour ☺️
Bileşenler tam olarak nedir?
I was just making these the other day. It was tough
The method number 3 is much easier. ☺️
I thought Sandara Park-the korean actress-just shifted to another career. :)

Mine got very hard and rubbery though I rolled super thin
Why Ma'am
Where I went wrong
Try to let them rest for enough time. The dough will be softer when you let it rest long enough. 👍
Uvítala bych český překlad 😊
Thank you why need to rest for 30 minutes and another 1 hour?
To let the gluten rest. Aka the dough becomes softer when you leave it alone, and it becomes harder when you knead it
