Cause peoples prefer to watch fake cooking hacks... Its sad truth but lots of people is not interested about the real process - they want flashy nonsense that takes 5 min even if it not work... Mandy videos show honest process of making something so lazy peoples are not interested... And we as a culture on west became so lazy and spliled
I love the number 4. It's quite easy, yet so pretty. When I made gyoza and mandu... I didn't really how to fold, so I just clap the circle into a half circle. It was still tasty though. But I think one method for me is fine to impress other people.

This is fantastic, and the directions and examples are so clear. I thought making the fancy dumplings would be difficult. You’ve shown that it is really just a matter of a little patience. Some are even easier than the traditional purse shape.

My favorite one is ALL OF THEM! I could eat them all, maybe not in one sitting, it might take me two LOL They are so beautiful and you make it look so easy too. Dumplings (or pot stickers as we call them) are one of my most favorite dishes. Thanks so much for sharing your expertise!

You make this look so easy. I have made a few of these shapes before (the standing up, the shoe shape and the other, more basic ones), but never do they come out as pretty as yours. Fantastic. Next I want to attempt the Copper Cash, that is just beautiful.
Mandy, this is so helpful. I now make noodles and dumplings like a pro (okay, not a pro but they taste great and look halfway decent) and am still learning. You gave me the confidence and the knowledge to make fresh noodles and dumpling skins. I have watched this video and the one in which you make fresh egg noodles in a stand mixer so many times. I notice something new every time I watch.
I frequently cook Chinese dumpling, but I knew just few types of its wrapping. I don't know I can do well, but I just want to try some of wrapping style that you introduced. If its visual is not good, its taste will be spoiled also. Visual is one of important piece for cuisine, I think.
I oil a cast iron pan and then place dumplings in it and put a bit of water which I bring to a quick boil to 1st steam them. I then remove the lid and let the water evaporate. This creates a wonderful caramelized bottom and chewy top. The dumpling is cooked and bottom browned in about 5 -7 minutes. I can do this quickly because I precook the meat for a different taste and a wonderful texture.
You are quite an artist. I'm going to experiment filling these with Texas treats like brisket, taco or tamal fillings,seafood & desserts & fruit. Excited! Thanks for sharing.

You make this look so easy. I have made a few of these shapes before (the standing up, the shoe shape and the other, more basic ones), but never do they come out as pretty as yours. Fantastic. Next I want to attempt the Copper Cash, that is just beautiful.
Mandy, this is so helpful. I now make noodles and dumplings like a pro (okay, not a pro but they taste great and look halfway decent) and am still learning. You gave me the confidence and the knowledge to make fresh noodles and dumpling skins. I have watched this video and the one in which you make fresh egg noodles in a stand mixer so many times. I notice something new every time I watch.

I frequently cook Chinese dumpling, but I knew just few types of its wrapping. I don't know I can do well, but I just want to try some of wrapping style that you introduced. If its visual is not good, its taste will be spoiled also. Visual is one of important piece for cuisine, I think.

I oil a cast iron pan and then place dumplings in it and put a bit of water which I bring to a quick boil to 1st steam them. I then remove the lid and let the water evaporate. This creates a wonderful caramelized bottom and chewy top. The dumpling is cooked and bottom browned in about 5 -7 minutes. I can do this quickly because I precook the meat for a different taste and a wonderful texture.
