i like vanquish 440
Vanquish is a good little detector 👍
@@TreasureOutdoors yes sir
4 Modes
0:59 coin mode 🪙
1:33 Jewelry mode 💍
2:32 Relic mode🗡
3:34 Custom mode
I just bought the 540 vanquish now I see the pro pak would’ve been the better choice
I don't know sir. I mean I definitely got a better deal on my pinpointed but the reason I see so many using the 440 is the coil size. It's between the large and small coils in the pro pack. Apparently the 540 preferred setting at the beach is the smaller coil ( the middle size I don't have would be nice) and jewelry mode is often used. Short story, you always want the coil you don't have lol.
I like this Video Pretty cool Things we forget cause we get comfortable with what works.. Meaning one mode all the time and not taking adventage of the other modes.. I think I will use relic mode on the beach next time I swing the 540 on the beach.. Why not what can it hurt.. if I do not like it I can always go to Jewelry mode or coin..
I agree man it's good to branch out a little depending on conditions I have been comfortable with jewelry mode but it's nice to try the others 🙏 you can really feel the recovery speed differences between the modes, coin mode is pretty quick! Thanks Dan 🤠🔥
Great video man. My only tip to anyone who's using an entry level metal detector like this, especially someone who's never metal detected before would be to go no discrimination. That way people can get used to what each tone represents. Time and experience they will start to determine what those tones mean and be able to decide whether a spot is really worth digging. Also there's the rule of thumb that if you get any tone just dig it. Never know what maybe hiding behind another tone. Keep up the good videos man.
This is a great vid for those that want to master the Vanquish. Being able to correctly use the different modes is absolutely necessary to get the goods you want too find.
This metal detector is one of the best 😁 the 540 is a beast
Great info man. Subscribed!
👍I like the "how to" videos👍
I appreciate the short videos direct and right to the point good job
I've been experimenting with just using the "all metal" setting. I mainly detect at beaches.
Great vid Mate. I am looking to buy my first metal detector that I want to use for gold prospecting and treasure hunting. I have the opportunity to buy an X-Terra 705 for $169 or a Vanquish 440 for $349 here locally. What are your thoughts on that for a first detector?
Regards, Jas.
I have not used the X-Terra 705 but I can say they are good machines in different ways. I think the 440 uses multi-frequency up to 40khz which some say is good for the gold. While the X-Terra uses a single frequency of 7.5, better for silver coins? I'm really just an amateur trying to share my thoughts, I say watch a few videos on them both and go with the one that you prefer more. :)

Many thanks for the reply. It looks like I am going to wait a bit longer until I can afford an Equinox 800, of which a few people in UA-cam have suggested that I won't be disappointed with for gold prospecting and treasure hunting.
Regards, Jas.
My 340 goes really deep no matter what mode i use full sens and it picks up items at 30-40 and even 50cm
The Vanquish surprises me with depth, it seems to go deep!
Had my 440 for the past 2 weeks but have not had time go out yet. Grrrrrrrrrr
Hope you're able to get out soon! 440 is a great little machine. :)
I just bought a 440 trying to get into the hobby and something to do here in Alaskas long daylight.
It's a seriously awesome hobby if you stay at it! Once you get something cool you'll be hooked 🔥 Plus cool to just get out to new places and explore a little bit
@@TreasureOutdoors oh definitely and thanks for the videos. They are amazing and helpful! Keep up the good work.
Cool video man! But, bro you had me dying 😂😂😂 @ 1:31 "try to read it out fancy (jewelry mode)" and @ 2:51 "shout out to all the (scrappy scrappers)" out there.
But, all jokes aside I'm really considering scooping up the Vanquish 540 in 2024. Happy hunting brother!👍🏽😎
great video!
thanks gang
Thanks for this video...just got the 440 for Christmas and trying to figure it out while I wait for the ground to unfreeze😊
It's a great time to start learning! 😁
@@TreasureOutdoors Does the 340 also have the best separation abilities on coin, or is just a feature on the 440 and 540 units?
Thankyou very good content helps sk much I'm using my 540 more now great luck to ya 🤮
Greetings from Nevada hi desert. Thank you
Short video. Informative and straight to the point. Thank you!
😁Jewellery (British) = Jewelry (USA)
Thanks for this video will start using relic mode more!!!
Give it a go Bill!! Lovin' the little Vanquish 🤠
Sweet lil vid bro. Appreciate the help you provide for us noobs. I see you had to sneak the lil loquat tree in too.🤣🤣 they grow everywhere in N.Z 👍🏾👏🏾
Thanks dude 🔥gotta get the loquat in 🤣🌲
Nice idea and nice delivery- thank you
Brilliant video thanks
Nice
Good job Austin:-) 👍
Thinking of adding a Vanquish to my lineup. Do you think the 540 is worth the extra $$. Some of the dealers have a 540 pro pack for 499 and comes with 2 coils a pinpointer wireless headphones. With Minelab 15 percent military discount I can get it for $425. 440 at $246 with just the 10" coil and wired headphones and no rechargeable batteries. I think I would prefer the 10" coil though.
You know to me I went with the 440 because I thought it was perfect for what I needed... but now I find myself wondering sometimes if I should get a bigger coil for it lol. It's a hard choice but I think the 440 will be good enough, get the 540 if you want those extra options 👍
Thanks Austin. I just pulled the trigger on the 540 pro pack through serious detecting. Military discount and no tax $424. I miss spoke it does not come with a pointer but I have the nokta pointer that I really like. $400 cheaper than the Legend propack after tax. Going to Mexico next month to hit the beach. I've taken my Simplex and Quest Q30 there and they do pretty well but I just couldn't help myself haha. Probably gonna put the Q30 up for sale.
only just got vanquish 440 and can't wait to get out with it as I'm a beginner so thanks i now know what to give ago in the beach 👍
Good luck out there!:)
Thanks bro... one cant get enough of this kind of knowledge ... 🤠 👍
Some pretty good stuff in the Vanquish manual! Thanks Daryl🔥
Nice, thanks for going over this machine.
Thanks for hanging out 513 :)
Very informative thank you so much 👍
Thank you for stopping by Robert!:)
What are your opinions on the the preset iron bias on the Vanquish 340/440? I am trying to choose between the Simplex and Vanquish. I don’t live anywhere near a beach and hunt primarily old homesites in the mountains.
A friend and I went to a spot on the river where people have hung out for many years and had fires lots of Burnt nails aluminum cans bottle caps we used both machines and we both came to the conclusion the vanquish was finding coins the simplex wouldn’t and when it was said and done the vanquish had 2 wheats a silver war nickel and a handful of clad lots of nickels and the simplex had a small handful of clad also we hit a really rough house site and neither performed particularly great still think the vanquish had an edge they are both good machines simplex is more durable and flexible with adjustments but the vanquish is def a deeper machine on coins
Wish I could give a solid opinion on that! Haven't got a chance to do a whole lot of hunting in iron, I'm going to be honest... I think you'll be happy with either one and once you get one you might end up wanting the other one too 😂
@@TreasureOutdoors I appreciate the feedback! That’s seems to be my problem, I want them both 😆 I live on a lake so I will probably get the Simplex now and water proof multi frequency machine later.
@@treasurehuntingnewyork5979
Thank you very much for the insight. It seems like the Vanquish is a real powerhouse but I am finding mixed reviews on it’s ability to separate iron. I live on a lake so I will probably just get the Simplex. At least I can learn the area within the next few years and then upgrade to a multi frequency machine that is water proof. The soil here also does not go past more than a few inches and most of my best finds were found laying just below the leafs.
Awesome tutorial! 💖💯
Thank ya Julie! 😊🙏🔥
