Jack Dee played a Judge on the tv show Kingdom, the shows main character is a lawyer named Kingdom played by Stephen Fry
Nobody asked , but I answered anyway.
You are most welcome.
Yeah, it's awesome when you find something wonderful then realise you have so much backlog available to enjoy. It took me almost a whole year to catch up to the present day of No Such Thing as a Fish. (The podcast by the QI Elves, who love their work so much they want MORE of it.) Oh yes! I support a short QI hiatus to get some Big Fat Quizzes!
Fun fact, I have been to a few Ross noble gigs and people still bring him rolos and toblerones
What about frozen ewoks?
Hi Neil, Your question about Hoplites will be answered straight from Greece.
Yes, it means gunmen.
Of course we are talking about ancient Greece so weapon would be a better word?
They were ARMED with spears and shields.
Phill Jupitus, and Johnny Vegas ? Comedy Gold.
Perhaps sprinkle the Big Fat Quizzes in with the QI’s.
Personally I’d prefer QI over BFQ but if it helps spread the load I’m not adverse. Jimmy Carr is always fun.
Hair came up in this episode so let me take this opportunity Neil to compliment you on yours. Most jealous!
Strangely, "Never eat an alligator whole," and "Never eat an alligator hole," are both maxims I try to live by
Has…has it ever come up
@@Xanderj89 Not yet but it's best not to take too many chances
Im left handed and at primary school onwards i was made to sit on my left and use my right, i now have really untidy handwriting with both.
Now I finally understand why when I went to see Ross Noble live years ago loads of people left him toblerones on the stage
Who doesn't want free Toblerones? :)
The Roleaux drill brit makes an almost perfect square, but the corners are slightly rounded. A drill bit that made a 100% perfect square would be impressive indeed
Wahey it's my episode!!(lefty 😉👊🏻)👌😂😂💜
And you're right, it's the Mazda engine, but you missed the X out of RX7 and RX8 lol
Definitely what I need on a cold evening 😊😊
I'm watching from South Africa and literally eating a Steers burger with Monkey Gland Sauce. There's no actual monkey in it, the recipe is mostly chutney, tomato and Worcestershire sauce with some onion and garlic. Find a recipe online and give it a try, its delicious!
There's lists of scores on the QI wiki, and just the normal Wiki.
I think there's also info for the scores on the SubReddit.
I just thought.. we need Grand Taskmaster.. A series where winners from each Taskmaster international compete.. New Zealand, Finland, Sweden etc..
Always find it interesting how British English and American, Canadian, etc English differs. The North American meaning of nonplussed (as Neil uses here) is such an example
Oh and the roundest thing is obviously Karl Pilkingtons head....👀🤔🤷♂️😂😂💜

There's been listings and dedicated websites for cumulative score and other scorekeeping but none of them that I can find are up to date (if they're still even existing)
I can say the cumulative scores don't matter.... But they are.... Quite Interesting 😎
That 'hoplophobe' definition was from Urban Dictionary.
Idk if the skirt thing is “better economy means more carefree dress”, I think it might mean “worse economy = society becoming repressive”. As in a certain position arises which wants to enforce ‘traditional values’
Okay, get Neil on QI
Jack Dee is always non-plussed lol.
The scores do matter in QI. They docked Dara for a wrong answer in the prior series, and to illustrate the half-life of facts, they passed points around, giving Alan a shitload.
I'd guess one of your favourites, Giles Brandreth has the overall most positive score. He usually does pretty well.
For a one-off appearance, i can't remember who she was off the top of my head, but someone got a 100 point bonus for guessing a complicated formula from Stephen.
@@jonbolton3376Helen Atkinson-Wood 😊
Wasn't there another episode where one of those who earlier had points added to his score then had points subtracted? No idea who it had been, unfortunately.
I think it was Dara O'brien for claiming that the triple point of water was zero degrees Celsius.
@@carlgibson285 Yes! Thank you!
I think Sandi as a guest was usually positive - her great knowledge base being one of the reasons she was chosen to take over from Stephen. Sue Perkins must be down there with Alan if the scores were averaged by number of appearances.
I was surprised Ross only had his first appearance in the H series, I would've guessed it was earlier. And it's a reminder that early series were total sausage parties, 5 white men, not very diverse. (f.y.i. Alan is a supporter of Arsenal (the Gunners), not Liverpool).
Maybe Arsenal were playing Liverpool???
I had to scroll all the way down to the very last comment to find one pointing out that it was an Arsenal game Alan would have wanted to see, not Liverpool.
There was a time you could have done a "meaningful" (of sorts) study of the scores on QI, but the show long ago sabotaged and completely destroyed any possibility for that, particularly with odd episodes where (a) scores weren't fully announced; (b) there were discrepancies between QI and QI XL versions; and, especially, (c) scores were just pulled out of thin air, usually involving astronomical numbers. There used to be someone-- I've no idea who-- that tried to do QI score stats, but I suspect (s)he gave up in exasperation on that ages ago.
Also, Alan has technically been in every episode, but it's the *DIVINATION* episode he missed because of an Arsenal game. He also missed the QI special for David Walliams' 24-Hour charity jobbie, with Walliams in Alan's chair and the other panelists being Jo Brand, Sue Perkins and Russell Tovey. That "episode" (it's not one), suffice it to say, was very missable, indeed.
As a Scot the phrase "24 hour charity jobbie" fills me with horror.
National Comedy Awards tonight mate!
