How To Open A Lock With MATCHES

  • This video shows you HOW TO OPEN A LOCK using only 20 matches and a sparkler, an experiment with matches made to see if a lock could withstand such high temperatures.
This method will allow you to open a lock without a key, so please be aware if and how you use it.
When you have a stuck or jammed lock and you need to open it in the shortest time possible, you can try lots of ways.
The fastest way to open a lock that we've found, was to fill the locking mechanism with matchstick head powder.
For this we used 20 matchstick heads which we peeled the red head off.
We minced it into a thin red powder an put it in the opening mechanism. A sparkler was used as a wick.
That powder contains potassium chlorate that will make the temperature inside to raise at 300 deg Celsius.
The inside pressure made the mechanism collapse and open.
Opening a lock with just matches may seem very difficult at first. However, once you see this video and understand what you need to do,
    it becomes very simple.
We used a transparent lock so we could have a better look at this experiment.
It will not work on all types of locks, depending on the materials used the result could be different.
In our case this was the easiest way to open a lock with matches.
    Thanks for watching!

At 1:25 you can see the locking pawls are jammed in the open position. (The lock is jammed unlocked, they burn match heads and pull the opened lock shackle out)

Sure this will work if you set things up like this person did. The way the lock is set up in the video, all you would have to do is pull up on the shackle since the lock wasn't locked in the first place. That being said, it would take less time to pick this lock with pretty much anything that would fit in the keyway. Or just stick a slot screwdriver in and force it open.

  • @jack_of_all_trades_master_none

Now do that on just about any ASSA Abloy, Paclock, or ABUS. This is a good video to cause someone to fill the pin Chambers with soot thereby causing a lock to possibly never function again. Don't try this people it will not work and your key pins as well as the driver pins may become seized up from debris.

It's plastic and that's probably why this works. These are the locks you get with lock picking kits so you can see what's going on inside the lock while you are practicing. I have this exact same lock so I KNOW it's plastic. Try this with a metal lock. I bet it doesn't work.
