- This video gives you a few basics you need to not only shoot video when you are a beginner, but to start shooting well. Timestamps below.
If you don't have time to watch the whole video, here are the basic points I made:
Set Resolution to 1920 x 1080
Set Frame Rate to 24p or 25p
Set Shutter Speed to 1/50 (or 50)
Set Aperture to Lowest F Number Your Lens Will Allow For Blurriest Background

Set Metering to Multi-metering
Shoot Outdoors, or in front of a window, or buy a good light with a softbox for inside
Get a Lav mic or a shotgun mic close to your mouth
Get a tripod and leave your camera on it

Out for the first time yesterday with my ZV-E10! Went to the Tulip Festival, used my kit lens, Sony 16mm, but fell in love with the Sony 18-105 mm ❤ Thanks so much for the beginners video and the ZV-E10 settings videos. Helped a lot 👌
Very helpful for basics +1. Like how you show and tell..
Can't wait to see more of these! AND DANG IT LOOKS COLD OUTSIDE
Thanks, Eddy!! The next videos will be short. I wanted this bigger overview first. And it’s not bad here today - 14 degrees F. Haha. Good old Canada.
Welcome to Canada brother! (Or in some cases, Texas)
Very helpful, I’m a total beginner, just bought a Sony zv e10, have watched a couple of your videos, learned a lot from you, thank you
Awesome - glad I could help!! More videos on the way
This was so freaking helpful man. Thanks for your time.
I’m glad!! I appreciate you saying that. 👊👊
Very well presented Mark! I’d say my favorite part is the white balance. I leave mine on auto most especially because I do run and gun wedding filmmaking. Who has time for that right? Haha. But seriously though, when you’re filming in a controlled environment you can for sure adjust it manually or even when running and gunning but auto white balance works for me just fine. Keep up the good work man and keep warm as well!
Thanks, Bernie. Auto white balance works pretty damn well. Sometimes you just need the camera to help out!!
Nice vid as always my friend, great tips 👍🏻
Ha - I was literally watching your microphone video when I got you comment. Thanks, Neil!!
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis No worries man 👍
I like this video! Even if I only do half of the things here. lol. Signed, The Perpetual Noob. Thank you!
Haha. We’re all perpetual noobs 🤣🤣
Hope this shaggy fella doesn’t forget us OG crew when he hits 100,000.
Lol. I’ve already forgotten this comment.
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis scumbag 😎
@@robmcd you know me!!
Haha, comedic genius right there 🙂
Yet another quality video man. Well said, explained very simply. Next step, the Mark Bennett Camera Course. Just show more examples and break it up into a bunch of parts, package it up as a course. Three easy payments of $19.99 and one really hard payment of $49.99. You'll be rich son! 😁
Sounds like a plan - haha
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis That's of course after you get huge sponsorships for your massive Podcast and bring it back to glorious life 🙂
I wish we all could be as basic as this guy
🤣🤣
Have you tried ScreenFlow editing software?
It is kind of a low cost in between free and Final Cut Pro X. It doesn’t have all the bells but is simple to record: cameras + computer screen + iPhone. Really nice but text fields are a bit buggy.
Have not tried it. Hadn’t heard of it. Will look into it. Thanks!!
Damn, mark! I thought we were friends!
You fell off the list after taking a deuce in the yard.
