Hi Mark, thank you again for all your content. You've really been helping me ❤ I have a question about the ZV E10. When I look at the camera, the brightness is perfect, but when I move around or look away the lighting dims. I think this has something to do with face recognition. What setting do I need to keep the brightness even and stable? Thank you Mark!
Hi good video, The aspect ratio why choose 3:2 than the others? is a thing that I can be sure with that? I need to do a portrait shooting around the city and then after post I need the best settings so I can get the best quality settings to upload pics on IG
3:2 is standard for photos and has the highest megapixels. But you may want to change it to 1:1 because that will give a square pic which is better for instagram
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis Yeah but if I set this to 1:1 I can't go back, so for you it is better to do from scratch 3:2 and then I can do all the changes? sorry I'm new using the camera
Hey Mark, got a ZE-10 question... Do you know if there's any way to map the manual focus assist/zoom thing to a button? I can't seem to find anywhere to do it, which is something I used constantly on my A7.
You can map manual assist magnification yes to a button. So in the menu, turn of MF Off in the menu Tab 1 page 10. And in Tab 2 page 2, Turn Initial Focus Mag. to x4. Then map Focus Magnifier to a button. I think that the one you want, right? it zooms in so you can manually focus accurately, yes?
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis Well I'll be damned. It seems like you can map it to a button, but not to a menu option in the FN menu (if that makes sense). Thanks Mark! I wish Sony would simplify their menu system. It's bizarre.
well, the 14-bit could only be noticed in cameras that have more than 12 stops of dynamic range, which the ZV-E10 does not. So you rent likely to see any difference. here’s a good article from DPReview www.dpreview.com/articles/4653441881/bit-depth-is-about-dynamic-range-not-the-number-of-colors-you-get-to-capture.
Yo Mark, good day, I have the ZV-E10 with the Sigma 16mm - F1-4. Was just following your settings to pair it with mine to check.. but when I got to frame time 8:06, AF Transition Speed and and AF subj Shift Sens on mine were all inactive ... and with a signal on the screen says "Invalid with this lens ". Any issues?
Dear Mark! Im using the zve10 with aperture pryority on our travellings because with a baby I have less time to stop and taking the time to make pictures. So my problem is, lot of pictures came out super shaky /blury in this mode. (Also the pictures lot times looks burnt out) /Iso is also is in auto mode) 😢 Is it normal? or no excuse to use manual instead of this? (most of the time the people blurred out, or didn't recognise my baby face so it's blurry...)
Hi there - switch to shutter priority. Set your shutter to 1/500 and have auto ISO. You can even try 1/1000 shutter speed if you have decent light. You can try manual as well with auto ISO once you get the hang of it. Also, if you are using the kit lens inside your house - chances are there's not enough light. Getting a lens like the Sigma 30 mm 1.4 will help greatly with that. (It's a prime so no zoom).
thanks for the video and sharing your experience! what settings/PP do you recommend for low light photography such as concerts etc. with the Sony zve10?
Absolutely. Just turn focusing with shutter to off. turn pre-autofocus off as well. Assign one of your buttons to af on. Here is the manual explaining if helpguide.sony.net/ilc/2070/v1/en/contents/TP0001116976.html
I just had a day off and the weather was nice. I don't know how, but in one day I took almost 700 photos on one battery, of course on the Sony Zv-e10. This surprised me a bit. Unfortunately, after returning home, I was very surprised because the photos without magnification look satisfactory, but when I enlarge them and they are 100% original size, they are terribly blurry, especially the trees, I don't know how it is possible, my settings are the same as in the recording, and the lens is added to the camera in the set, i.e. kit. However, out of curiosity, I checked samples of photos taken with this camera and this lens, unfortunately they look better. Honestly, when you enlarge the photos, they look so "bad" that probably 99% of the photos will end up in the trash. Surprisingly, I looked at earlier photos taken with this camera and up close it was also bad. I'm angry with myself for not checking it earlier. I checked the photos taken with the ZV-1F and the mentioned trees look better, in general the photos on the ZV-1F look average, but at least they are not blurry. Now I remembered that I have old photos (from 2021) taken with a Lumix Fz38, a 12 Mpix "zoom" camera from 2009, currently worth about $30-40 dollars, after enlargement, the objects in the photo look a little better. It's starting to scare me, what if I got a damaged copy of the Zve10, and because of the time I could have returned the camera, I didn't do it. Well, I'm considering one more option, next month maybe I'll be able to buy a viltrox 35mm f1.7, if it doesn't help, it'll be bad. Maybe someone had such "attractions"? Did anything help?
you need to increase your shutter speed. do some reading about how to get sharper photos and you will find proper settings for shutter speed. this is why your photos are blurry.
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis In the beginning, the shutter speed in strong sunlight was open between 2000 and probably 1250, but over time I decreased it to (and now I don't remember exactly) 600 or 650. Because I increased the aperture from f5.6 to f8. For taking photos of "views", a shutter speed of 600 (or, as I mentioned, 650) works well (at least that's what I think - the photos were taken hand-held, but I stopped, stood still, and held the camera steadily). Now I read on the Internet that something like this may be related to the UV filter, I have a JJC 40.5 mm UV lens filter, which is cheap, no one has complained about it, but it could be different, maybe that's the problem, maybe I'll check it tomorrow this idea.
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis I checked, and the culprit was actually a cheap UV filter. I changed it to something more expensive and it's actually better, which turns out to be brighter even on a kit lens after changing the filter. If I wasn't running around the forest and I wasn't afraid of catching on a branch or getting my lens covered in cobwebs (as it already happened to me, with cobwebs), I probably wouldn't use the filter. Overall, I'm slowly saving up for a new lens and I'm wondering whether it's worth spending more on the Sigma 30mm f1.4 or going cheap with the Viltrox 35mm f1.7?
Is there a way when the camera is in auto iso mode to display the auto selected iso live. This was how it was in my Canon 5d mark ii. In a more it would display the auto shutter and iso the camera was currently reading. Made adjusting settings super easy.
Yes - in photo - if you half press the shutter when in auto ISO - it will show you the ISO it has chosen. In video - when you have it in auto ISO - it shows you the ISO it has selected. It stays on screen. It is very helpful.
Tired and Cornfused here - Taking my ZV-E10 out into the real world again tomorrow and I'm confusing myself. When I change things like my Zebra and Aperture settings, am I changing them for both Video and Photo mode? Or when I switch back and forth between Video and Photo mode will it remember the last settings I programmed while in that mode? Is this where I can use the Camera Settings Memory to my advantage, to record values to differentiate between my preferred Photo and Video settings?
Yes use your memory settings because on the zv-e10 you can’t separate them otherwise. 70 zebras will be the same on both - picture profile same - aperture, etc. use your memory button to your advantage
Hi Mark I love your content! I have a quick question. I know that the camera only has specific aspect ratios but not 9:16. Do you know how to by pass this? I see a lot of creators (fitness) using this camera and posting videos just fine and maybe I’m missing something. Hope this makes sense!
just turn the camera vertically and it will record the image vertically (9:16). It has an automatic vertical video mode if the camera is turned vertically.
Hello Mark With the festive seasons discount in India, I bought the ZV1 last night for 625 dollars from Amazon. I didn't get the ZV E10 because getting lenses, ND Filters, heavier tripods etc is too many things. Not only do they become costlier, they are also a hassle to carry. And I like to live minimal. Although I do realise that ZV E10 is more future proof as compared to ZV1 So, do you hate me now?
there is no dial to change shooting modes. you can switch between stills and code and s&q, but you need to use the FN menu or assign a button to switch to aperture priority to shutter priority for example. or dog into the menu, but the FN button is one click, so that’s what I use.
yes - unfortunately the ZV-E10 does not have a minimum shutter speed function in auto iso. this is why I recommended manual mode with with auto iso at the end of the video
unfortunately, as of now, the copyright option is not available in the ZV-E10. You do have the new option of naming the files whatever you want, so you can place your name there - but no copyright.
HELLO! I'm really sad, I cannot open ARW files of my zve10 in any of my devices. I usa Mac os High sierra 10.13, IPHONE SE 15.3 and IPAD air 15.3. No way! I can open every other raw files but not mine!!! Do you know why? and what can I do?? Love you Mark, thank you
Thos ARW files are raw files that are meant to be opened in a software like Lightroom. If you don’t have that, Download the free Sony imaging software for your desktop and iPad. imagingedge.sony.net/en-ca/ie-desktop.html
I mean who's going to use this thing for photos? 😛 One thing I did notice that was pretty limiting with Ole Douggie is that the max shutter speed is only 1/4000 in video and 1/8000 for photo which is very limiting in daylight on an APS-C sized sensor. 2 video ideas spawn from that: Necessary accessories for your camera and APS-C vs M43 in real world shooting scenarios. For example my Pannyboy could shoot video or photo in full sunlight no issues without an ND. Sony? Not even close. Food for thought
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis It's more than that though, the ZV-1 could go all the way to 1/16000 second for the same video settings as the ZV-E10. It must be that with the old as dirt sensor some of the capabilities are limited to old school. The Panasonic can go to 1/16000 on top of being m43 so you can basically always get the shot, just not the proper shutter angle. Sony just isn't close though regardless of sensor size
@@KPGuitarStudios yes - limitations for sure on the old sensor and processor. What you pointed out is one of the very things that makes micro 4/3 underrated
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis Absolutely. And Shane's video really shows how much better out of camera Panasonic can be than full frame Sony, it was quite dramatic really.

Can you do me a favor and tell me if theres a timelapse setting in PHOTO not video settings on the zve1.. not zve10. Thanks!
Tired and Cornfused here -
Taking my ZV-E10 out into the real world again tomorrow and I'm confusing myself.
Please pour yourself a nice glass of apple juice and start the comparison of the zv-10 to the A7M4! 🙂
Great work BTW 👍
That's the plan!! 🤣🤣
I unfollow you just so i can follow you back again. THIS. Is how great your content is!
🤣🤣thanks!!
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis thank you so much, truly appreciate it!
Hey mark
I’m noticing too much noise even in like 1000 iso
any tips to reduce it?
The tools in a program like Lightroom are very good at removing noise. Try noise reduction in there. 👍
Ok I’ll try
Thanks
Bro I need your help I'm trying to click some photos in my zve10 with sigma 30mm f1.4 but it is not giving me sharp image please help
make sure your shutter speed is at least 1/250
Plz help me about best lens for photography my camera is ZV E 10
As good start is the sigma 30mm f1.4. It does not zoom. If you want a zoom - get the sigma 18-50 f2.8
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis good for photography
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis which lense for photography my camera is ZVE10
Hey!! That Apple juice!!
Pictur profile?
Damn 🔥
how do i change the F manually
you have to set it to aperture priority or manual and then you can use the dial
Hello Mark
With the festive seasons discount in India, I bought the ZV1 last night for 625 dollars from Amazon. I didn't get the ZV E10 because getting lenses, ND Filters, heavier tripods etc is too many things. Not only do they become costlier, they are also a hassle to carry. And I like to live minimal. Although I do realise that ZV E10 is more future proof as compared to ZV1
So, do you hate me now?
I have no room in my heart for hate - some of my best friends own a ZV1 🤣 It’s a great camera and it sounds like it suits you well. congrats!!
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis great thank you.
Can we change shooting modes without entering the menus?
there is no dial to change shooting modes. you can switch between stills and code and s&q, but you need to use the FN menu or assign a button to switch to aperture priority to shutter priority for example. or dog into the menu, but the FN button is one click, so that’s what I use.
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis ok thanks 😊
hope sony make they're own software editing... like canon and nikon...
Actually they have Sony Imaging Edge Desktop software which is a photo editing software they provide for free
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis but i think they complaining not as good like others..
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis and tbey say its hard get the colours u want like us as amateur..
@@ryzenbiel4145 I don’t use it myself, so I can’t really validate that - I always use Lightroom because it works best for me 👍👍
Thanks :))
You’re welcome!!
IT keeps saying this operation or setting not available as follows shoot mode / movie
You have to switch to camera mode. Top button. It cycles between photo, movie, and s&q
I noticed the zv e10 doesn't have, (iso auto min. ss) but the 6400 does or am I not seeing it?
yes - unfortunately the ZV-E10 does not have a minimum shutter speed function in auto iso. this is why I recommended manual mode with with auto iso at the end of the video
Hi,
Could you please help me how to add/edit copyright in menu system.
Not able to find it on ZV E10
Thanks in Advance!!
unfortunately, as of now, the copyright option is not available in the ZV-E10. You do have the new option of naming the files whatever you want, so you can place your name there - but no copyright.
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis thanks for the quick response 👍
LOL. Thank you. I am pro now! ;)
Yes you are!
WAITING my sigma 18-50 2.8~
Just got this camera and the file format is not clickable
You have to switch to photo mode. It’s the button on top that switches between photo, video and s&q

@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis I watched it your camera lets u edit every thing mines is not letting me
@@laskrt9629 I was talking about my video settings video. This video is my photo settings video, what mode are you trying to change?
Also my photos from Tamron 18-300mm aren't coming as crisp as I expected. Can anyone help critique why? I can give google pgotos link
I am so much confused between zve10 and a6100 in 2024 for street photography
I mean who's going to use this thing for photos? 😛 One thing I did notice that was pretty limiting with Ole Douggie is that the max shutter speed is only 1/4000 in video and 1/8000 for photo which is very limiting in daylight on an APS-C sized sensor. 2 video ideas spawn from that: Necessary accessories for your camera and APS-C vs M43 in real world shooting scenarios. For example my Pannyboy could shoot video or photo in full sunlight no issues without an ND. Sony? Not even close. Food for thought
Yes - larger sensor letting in more light - you'll want to have the ND filter handy👍👍
The camera heat up does anyone having the same issue
cameras get warm after a while. does the overheat warning come on? have you set the internal temp to high?
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis mark thanks a million after I watched your video I was able to stop the heating up since I followed your instructions and this was my very first camera
I hate Sony REMOVED the “CLEAR Creative Styles” and few others on ZV-E10! A6400 still had the CLEAR CC!
It’s annoying when features you used are gone. For photos, I only go standard creative style with picture profile off - because you really want to manipulate your photo in raw in Lightroom or something similar.
I must have clicked on Gerald Undone by accident ...
Haha - I forgot to put up the purple lights 🤣🤣
