Throwing your weapons is especially effective when the enemy is unaware of your presence. They will always get opened up for a takedown when you hit them
@@Stryftek the environmental skill that lets you throw items straight of the ground is great for that. It also gives you way more options for combat - particularly in the club level with all those chairs laying around doing nothing until you unlock it.
One trick i discovered by accident is when you throw your weapon and the enemy dodges it sometimes they’ll be tricked into running back for it and picking it up which gives you a good few seconds to run up and get in a few hits as they go for the weapon, which can be really helpful for that last chunk of health

More interestingly, the Inverse throw feels like it has some I frames attached to it. These videos are great! I'm stuck on the second phase of the club boss - he has this up to down slam that gets me every time, and the dodging doesn't work as well... Would love guide vids for the bosses!
Guide video for bosses... Hmmmm.... I like this idea. I could also do it as a playthrough of each level. Meanwhile - Hold To Avoid will make the second boss the easiest thing ever. I explain it in my previous video : ua-cam.com/video/oxHv-vJpjco/v-deo.html But yeah, for him - EVERYTHING can be avoided by hitting left and right while holding block. Second phase he ads a low sweep attack you need to watch out for - but the WORSTE part about that phase is he starts dash cancelling himself. He just attacks and dashes back before you can retaliate. This is where Focus Regain comes in KEY. Your dodges regain your focus, with focus you can land the Eye Gouge and follow up with attacks!
@@Stryftek I just beat it! I'm an old man of 42 now, after going into the club at 21. Which is basically how i feel before and after going to a club anyway... I could not read the low sweep he does, but the focus regain was key, so I used the focus i got from dodging his other moves to eventually sweep him away. Is there a way to read it, parry it, something? Looking forward to your next vids!
@@demondayzzz The boss from the club was pretty awful. His low sweep comes when he wraps his staff behind his back. If that helps..... I'll have a video on the bosses soon. Working on perfect stage 1 walk through!!
@@Stryftek For the sweep it looks like you can dodge shift forward through it, whereas the other moves are L1 and back. It's a bit counter-intuitive.... His moves still get faster and I can barely avoid half of them. Guess I need more familiarity with the fight.. I'm looking forward to your level guides too - there's a locked door near the boss of the first i'm not sure how to open!
Instant takedown means it technically does have a nascent stealth kernel. Good catch. I love games that let you pry a little bit out. Bionic Commando (2009) didn’t have stealth and neither does Just Cause but both games featured heavy, ubiquitous use of a grappling hook launcher. Loud stealth? Platform stealth? Arcade style stealth? The shit is tight!
On a side note in the first mission there’s a major shortcut which lets you skip %70 of the level. When entering the first building you are supposed to head up the stairs which lead you to the hallway fight. However if you immediately go left there’s a pair of glass double doors you can unlock and head back out onto the street, which takes you to the factory with a few enemies here and there
Seems you've gained a good amount of subs by the look of the comments below, you've got my sub also now. Keep them video tips coming and by the way the reset thing with shrine progression for The Club at 21 is because it saves only the youngest age for that level progression..so if you were to play the first level again without aging, The Club level would save it as 20 with whatever shrine progression you've unlocked. I'm currently at The Museum at age 20 though I kept replaying The Club until I got through it without aging lol.
Maaan, the other day I was the 647 sub, now we are 1k. I was gonna write to you that day but been busy since, but let me tell you this sir, I see this channel grow immensely fast. Watch us reach 10k soon. And after that to 100k. Cheers
@@Stryftek my opinion is not based upon Sifu, but as mentioned in other comments: your voice, approach and skill on explaining. So called silver tongue. Not all posses that! 10k here we come baby
Any stage you start from after a game over will play at your best (youngest) clear with whatever perks you took on that run, so the only way to overwrite that is to do better.
a few tipps, correct me. Almost always you can do bottom dodge, you should remember combos where to do high- dodge against low hits. then hit slowed enemy, also you ma block and dodge in the middle of your action, instantly finishing it. For train, you should intentionally stand in the middle of the group of foes and practice dodging :D I m not sure if all hits are counterhit- possible, maybe someone knows that?
So the age thing is basically retries. You have AT LEAST 12 retries to beat the game. When your death counter goes down, you are potentially gaining more retries. So lets say you're 60 years and your death counter is 9. On death you go to 69, after that death 79 and then game over. But if you were 60 with a 0 death counter, on death you'd go to 61, then 63, then 66, then 70 -- you've squeaked out a bunch more retries because of the low death counter. So somtimes at a jade dragon it is worth it to use XP to buy that death counters to 0. The skills do get a tad odd too. Only if spend a bunch of XP and unlock them permanently do they stay unlocked always (even starting on level 1). I find myself checking my character profile at the beginning of the run to see what abilities I have active - with so many deaths I sometimes forget what I have and haven't unlocked.
Totally true - I do find myself using take downs as i-frames sometimes. Basically you're surrounded and need to get out, a take-down can totally help with that. I wish our guy could go SSJ.
I hope Sifu adds an endless survival mode similar to Batman Arkham Series!!!! That was the best and with this combat system that would be beyond addictive
@@Paulothy Check out Absolver, its Slowclaps first game and basically a martial arts Dark Souls game. There are still people playing it so you might get lucky searching for some PvP.
@@The66Hammer Oh I know about absolver lol. I used to play, but I was never good enough to do pvp. I always got matched up against people with fast relentless combos, couldn't even fight back! I did enjoy the game over all though
Actually you missed a throw method, the best one : immediately after a dodge ( when the time slows down ) you hit 1 time : result is the ennemi is stunned and you have an opening for a throw using X+A , it's a game changer you can throw on any direction ;) and .... works on bosses ... so best combination with skills witch give a combo with throw
I can totally see that - it would have to be implemented correctly. Let me crouch and sneak up behind an enemy and take them out - them hitting the ground makes a noise and alerts those nearby or something. It just felt so weird they'd have these unaware people around - but no mechanic to nicely take them out. If you walk up behind them they just turn around and fight you, lol
I don't know if it's a tip or something I've realized but whenever you parry an attack and counter attack. The counter attack doesn't count as an input towards your base strings. For example, I counter someones hook and press quick strike and get the double punch counter attack, and then try to do quick strike + sharp strike because before I thought it would perform the quick strike (x2) + sharp strike combo but it does something different.
these are just tips for the starting areas, the enemies later one become much MUCH stronger, smarter, and what not. It'll be almost impossible to throw something at them since they just dodge it, attacking them while they don't notice u won't give u free takedowns and their hits are much more deadly.
@@Stryftek the taunting your enemies and throwing your enemies are still great tips tho. Especially the throwing your enemies one since that is very underrated
ugh the save feature kinda sucks, I did first level at 20 then finished club at 23, then re did first level because I had missed some shrines, but everytime I continue to the club it resets my character aspects.. shit sucks it's like I have to beat the first 2 stages in one run
If an enemy has a weapon you can parry their attack and hit circle or b at the same time and you will take their weapon. At least I think it's circle or b, I have done it by accident a couple of times but I know for a fact you can do it. Also be careful with enraged enemies, usually the ones with head bands or uses flips and kicks can catch weapons you throw at them like nothing and use it against you (only noticed they do it while they are enraged otherwise if not they just take the hit if you throw it). They only enrage when you try to perform a takedown on them. I like to avoid doing takedowns on them unless I absolutely need more health
The only question that remains is how on earth do you do focus moves on PC? I am supposed to select them SOMEHOW when the bar is full, and the prompt says "WASD Select Vital point". It actually does not do anything if you press wasd while holding F, neither does anything happen if you move the mouse.
Ah k - so Hold F, everything goes blue and you have that reticle - then drag the mouse up and to the right, you'll see a line being made from the center of the reticle to where you're moving to, there is a small dot on the outside of the circle, when you get there it'll say the move name - then click!
@@Stryftek that very thing failed me as well until i found a reddit post from a few days ago.. where they said you have to put the preset to custom then back to default if you wish to use focus moves on PC. Weird stuff
Absolutely. I just ran into a situation where my best age didn't have the shrine buffs I wanted - so I wondered what would happen and how I could possibly get the ones I wanted. It was weird started Stage 2 at 26 with the shrine buffs I wanted when my BEST was 21. Almost like they need another button for that screen. Continue Current RUN and Continue BEST run.
I think this is another tip the game doesnt tell you but uts also kinda obvious: yoo can stun an enemy and if your near a railing and you grab and throw them into it you can push them off and get the easy kill, stun back fist plus grab made this really funny to use
I just started and first thing I did was farm the permanent unlocks moves and now I’m age 21 at the clubs which is waaay better then my first run we’re I fought The Botanist at age 70.
I found you can't use combos that need directions while holding to avoid. So you'll need to let go of space and then input it. You can practice on the training dummy at base!!

Would love guide vids for the bosses!
there is a pattern where he does not step back and you can hit him , fill the focus bar with dodging the rest of time, it's a safe method
Guide video for bosses... Hmmmm.... I like this idea. I could also do it as a playthrough of each level.
Meanwhile - Hold To Avoid will make the second boss the easiest thing ever. I explain it in my previous video : ua-cam.com/video/oxHv-vJpjco/v-deo.html
But yeah, for him - EVERYTHING can be avoided by hitting left and right while holding block.
Thank you for these videos! Very helpful!
Glad I could help!
I've just been permanently unlocking everything. Once you die at age 70 it,'s not like you lose it. I'm about 6 moves away from having it all.
Ooo nice!!
I hope this game get a strong modding community going the possibilities are endless with this combat system
Already seen some cool John Wick and Daredevil skins!
The algorithm is about to bless you
I can only cross my fingers!
I just learned today that the second boss room has staffs you can pick up. Haha
I tried to use those... I just dodge.
On a side note in the first mission there’s a major shortcut which lets you skip %70 of the level. When entering the first building you are supposed to head up the stairs which lead you to the hallway fight. However if you immediately go left there’s a pair of glass double doors you can unlock and head back out onto the street, which takes you to the factory with a few enemies here and there
Yup! But you do miss a jade dragon.... so risk reward. Do you want more passive abilities, or do you want to get there at a lower age?
@@Stryftek there’s a jade dragon on the street too.
@@alpacalips4887 Yuppers! So with the short cut you walk out with 2, the full way gets you 3.
How do u unlock the doors?
@@2kay they just open whenever I interact with them
Seems you've gained a good amount of subs by the look of the comments below, you've got my sub also now.
20 at Museum!? Very nice!
Maaan, the other day I was the 647 sub, now we are 1k. I was gonna write to you that day but been busy since, but let me tell you this sir, I see this channel grow immensely fast. Watch us reach 10k soon. And after that to 100k. Cheers
That's the dream! Though the boost is largely due to SIFU. We'll see if things can be sustained.
@@Stryftek my opinion is not based upon Sifu, but as mentioned in other comments: your voice, approach and skill on explaining. So called silver tongue. Not all posses that! 10k here we come baby
@@SwedishLatino :-D
Any stage you start from after a game over will play at your best (youngest) clear with whatever perks you took on that run, so the only way to overwrite that is to do better.
You can carry over a higher age with different perks, it won't save unless you reach a stage at a younger age than before.
I don't gotta worry cause they're are adding difficulty options lol. So I will pretty much master everything
You need more subs! So I subbed! Good info!
Why thank you!
a few tipps, correct me.
Really nice video dude :D
Thanks for watching!!
Amazing tips! I am still trying to figure out this age and skill thing, it's confusing to me.
@@Stryftek wow thank you so much for this reply!
Don't use takedown if you don't need the health. Someone turning super saiyan in the middle of a tough group fight can be the end.
Oooo! That would be a great idea!!!
I'd also love to see some multiplayer gameplay! Imagine fighting back to back with another player while surrounded, or even pvp duels!
3:24 - I have the high ground.
Hello there!
Thought I'd give you a well deserved sub before you hit that 1 million sub range
1 million?! 👀 Not sure about that :-)
Throwing your weapon comes with the risk that the enemy catches it. Know your target.
Truth
Awesome Vid man. Subscribed.
Thanks! I hope it helps!!!
Ooo! I'm gunna have to try this!
@@Stryftek when you throw on a table or anything else you can have an instant finisher move it's pretty awesome :))
Stealth mechanic would break the game in my opinion
Interesting.... Hmm...
these are just tips for the starting areas, the enemies later one become much MUCH stronger, smarter, and what not. It'll be almost impossible to throw something at them since they just dodge it, attacking them while they don't notice u won't give u free takedowns and their hits are much more deadly.
Yup - these tips are to give you a basis as you learn the game.
Tips were valid thank you
Happy to help :-)
If an enemy has a weapon you can parry their attack and hit circle or b at the same time and you will take their weapon. At least I think it's circle or b, I have done it by accident a couple of times but I know for a fact you can do it.
Also be careful with enraged enemies, usually the ones with head bands or uses flips and kicks can catch weapons you throw at them like nothing and use it against you (only noticed they do it while they are enraged otherwise if not they just take the hit if you throw it). They only enrage when you try to perform a takedown on them. I like to avoid doing takedowns on them unless I absolutely need more health
Weapon steal?! I need to try this.
@@Stryftek Oh yes! It's so useful!
Honestly I found myself losing health alot so I went for the health after takedown upgrades
I pick those up in the 2nd and 3rd stages!
Damn I didn't know you could taunt, that's amazing
Great video, king
So glad I could help!
Thanx. This is Game of the year
That's gunna be tough. New Horizon Game, Lost Ark, Elden Ring. We'll see!!
Good stuff man I pre orderd a month ago on my way home right now to play cool tips tho I’ll sub
You're in for a treat!!!
Weird stuff
ua-cam.com/video/3EB_YnVJf8c/v-deo.html - quick short on it. Weird about the default thing though.
After seeing the quality of this video I’m surprised at your subscriber count
I'm underground ;-)
You can always start a level at the best run youve had (age wise)
4:10 actually there's 4 takedown. Downstairs from 1st takedown. BTW thanks for the tips. I didn't know you could taunt that way. 😆👍
Thank you so much man, I'm more of an aggressive player so I really needed to see this video telling me to slow down and dodge!
Yeah, I was trying to play this like Batman Arkham - doesn't work all that well.
Stryftek's voice though 🤤😍
I think this is another tip the game doesnt tell you but uts also kinda obvious: yoo can stun an enemy and if your near a railing and you grab and throw them into it you can push them off and get the easy kill, stun back fist plus grab made this really funny to use
Oh yeah! Good point! I love throw people off on Stage 2 on the second trial.
I wasn't aware that we had a railing nearby. I'm curious when that feature was added.
Thanks buddy. Were you around for Absolver? I feel like you were
I wish I would have played Absolver! It was on my list and I just never got around to it :-(
Great video bro Really helpful. I'm definitely going to do a video about this game I will tell people to go subscribe to you. In the video
Hey! Thanks so much for that!!!
I just started and first thing I did was farm the permanent unlocks moves and now I’m age 21 at the clubs which is waaay better then my first run we’re I fought The Botanist at age 70.
That totally works too!!
waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay
I'm more impressed that you can play this on mouse and keyboard
Oh? It really isn't that bad!
I'm quite surprised that you don't play with a controller Playstation.
I try to use mouse / keyboard first.
How did you do that jump knee kick move at 1:14?
Just by doing a running finisher.
4:14 There are actually 4.
Girl, who talks about kung-fu or something.
Two on right and one on left side.
Any tip to successfully use the palm or leg swipe using keyboard and mouse? i can barely pull it off one on one and impossible to do it in a group
I found you can't use combos that need directions while holding to avoid. So you'll need to let go of space and then input it.
You can practice on the training dummy at base!!
Respeccing: Birdman 👏🏿
Huh?
Great video brother
