    I really like that you include a link to a tutorial because many people, like myself, need step by step instructions that we can read as we go along. I noticed there haven’t been any videos in 3 years, I hope you’re doing well and still making art. I haven’t started yet but am getting set up little by little to do so.

    Cool ocean swipe. I experimented with dish soap when I started pouring and remember I liked the effects for waves. Might try that again, thanks for sharing.

    This piece is stunning. Is the liquid soap added to all of the paints?

    • @artucreate3303
      @artucreate3303  Рік тому

      Hi! Yes, a couple of drops of liquid soap is added to all of the paints. It's the magic ingredient that helps to make the lacy, foamy look of the waves.
      :)

    I would love to try this. Thank you for sharing. I have a canvas 36x48 inches. How much more paint do you think I need? Do I add more soap too?

    • @artucreate3303
      @artucreate3303  3 роки тому +6

      Hi! I think if you multiply the amounts shown in the video by 12 you should have enough to cover a large 36 x 48 canvas.
      The canvas used in the video is a 9x12---close to a square foot. Since you have about 12 square feet to cover on your canvas, you would need about 12 times the amount of Floetrol & fluid acrylic. And just a few more drops of dish liquid.
      You may also want to place a sheet of heavy cardboard under your canvas before you start pouring (and additionally place books or other things under the cardboard)---- this will help support the surface of the canvas, keep it level, and prevent the canvas from sagging in the middle from the weight of the paint when you pour.
      I hope your painting turns out really well!!

    Podrías poner que materiales utilizaste en español por favor?

    • @artucreate3303

      Hola!
      En el video cada taza contiene:
      1,5 onzas de Floetrol (aproximadamente 45 ml).
      4 ml O aproximadamente 1 cucharadita de color acrílico fluido (utilicé acrílicos fluidos GOLDEN ** azul de Prusia , turquesa (ftalo) , ultramar , verde azulado , blanco titanio )
      2 gotas de líquido para platos Dawn
      Usará una botella de spray que contenga al menos un 70 % de alcohol para rociar su pintura fluida cerca del final para separar los colores aún más para espuma de mar.
      Espero que esto ayude.
      :)
      muchas gracias!

    Beautiful! Do you have to clean the canvas the same as using silicone oil before varnishing because of the dish soap?

    • @artucreate3303
      @artucreate3303  3 роки тому +1

      Hi Michelle! The good news is that you do not have to clean the canvas after pouring. Unlike silicone, the soap does not leave a residue. The paint will dry with a nice satin finish so there is no need to varnish either. :)

    Can I use regular acrylic paint for this?

    • @artucreate3303
      @artucreate3303  6 місяців тому

      Possibly. You will need to thin it down so that it is the same consistency as fluid acrylic. But definitely experiment and see if it works! :)

      sí, cuando la pintura está seca, puedes aplicar un producto como "Modern Masters Dead Flat Varnish" sobre la superficie superior. Le dará a la pintura un acabado mate en lugar de brillante.

    Hi it’s Terri thank you for responding to my last comment I have another Question do I need to put a base coat first is it important that I do the swipe? I love your colors your very great. Could I do just a pour to get the same effect? Thanks again Terri

    • @artucreate3303
      @artucreate3303  3 роки тому +4

      Hi Terri! A base coat is optional if you are using a pre-primed canvas. If you have canvas that has a noticeable texture, then a base coat can help to smooth it a little so that the texture doesn't show as much in your final results.
      Doing the swipe definitely does help to get the appearance of a wave or the look of sea foam. Swipe the titanium white over the other colors and then spray with a little alcohol to break apart the paint, and you should end up with nice, lacy, sea foam effect. You can use a large index card or any kind of lightweight paper to drag the white color over the blue layers.
      I hope your art turns out amazing!

    What size canvas did You use I have a 12/12
    canvas do I need more paint an how do I seal the canvas once it dries. With a spray sealer.Terri

    • @artucreate3303
      @artucreate3303  3 роки тому +1

      A 12x12 is a perfect size! The canvas in the video was a 9 x 12, and I had paint left over, so you should be fine.
      The paint will dry with a nice satin finish, so you will not need to seal it when it dries.

    What colors did you use an what was the formula?

    • @artucreate3303
      @artucreate3303  3 роки тому +2

      Hi! I used Golden Fluid Acrylics in these 5 colors: Ultramarine, Prussian Blue, Turquoise (Phthalo), Teal and Titanium White.
      The formula----For each color---Mix 1/4 cup Floetrol with 1 tsp. Golden Fluid Acrylic Paint
      (If you are using metric measurements, it would be approximately 60 mL Floetrol and 5 mL fluid acrylic paint)
      :)

      Hi, the base for the painting is a wood panel. You could also use a wood board. The wood panel was painted with white latex paint (and allowed to dry) before pouring the liquid colors on top.

    Why did you spray with alcohol?

    • @artucreate3303
      @artucreate3303  2 роки тому

      Hi Janice,
      The alcohol spray helps to break apart the paint--giving the art a "lacy" effect that looks similar to sea foam. In the video, you can compare how the white layer of paint looks before and after the quick spray of alcohol. If you are looking for a sea foam effect, this technique works pretty well.
      Thanks for asking :)

    why did you add dish wash ??

    • @artucreate3303
      @artucreate3303  Рік тому +1

      Dish soap helps to break apart the binders that hold fluid acrylic paint together. That allows you to get some nice special effects, like the bubbly, lacy, foamy look of sea and surf.
