She tells you exactly how to mix this in other videos. The pouring medium is 65% glue to 35% water. Measure that out and mix it in a big container so you have a bunch of it. The ratio of paint to pouring medium is 50/50 so take a cup and pour some paint in it and then add the same amount of the pouring medium you just made up. Mix it nice and good with a wooden stir stick of some kind. Mix until it pours off your stick like cream. If it falls too fast it's too thin and add some more pouring medium. If it falls too slow it's too thick so add some water. Again it should pour off your stick like cream. For those size cups she adds 5 drops of silicone oil. Mix well so it get incorporated into the paints. I usually layer with my paints held higher than this but I'm going to change how I do it now because of watching these videos. I think pouring from a lower height causes less mixing and less chance of the paints turning muddy ( the higher your pour into the cups the more it will blend and possibly become muddy) Also her choice of colours gives less chance of things turning muddy. The similar the colours the more chance of muddy mix. Also the order in which you layer the paints in the cups is important. Let's say you don't want green in your mix yet you poured blue over yellow you ARE going to get green. Trust me lol. Also after watching this I'm going to torch less. I've been torching WAY too much and not getting the nice formed cells like this. I mean mine are nice but they could be better like these. Too much tilting and you are going to get stretched out wobbly cells and you'll cry a boat load of tears. It's all about experimenting and just trying over and over till you get it right. Start with cheap paints and glue and water like I did. The fun is in the process and I learned so much already from this video Julie and I've been pouring for quite awhile. Subscribed and an addicted follower now :)
I’ve done some pouring not a lot I noticed that you get more bubbles if you pour from a height. Thinner paint ie:craft type doesn’t need a lot of water added you should start with smaller sizes and work up to larger I find I use a lot of dark colours blues , dark greens etc.,
Thank you! That was clear! I’m just starting. Very nervous as I have to do a big project for my new kitchen using the colours I used for painting dining chairs. Enjoying the great pours. Thank you for the great demos!

you can just eyeball it, there's not an 'exact amount'. the purpose of the glue and water is to condition the paint, so that it can be diluted somewhat and still not break down.. it also doesn't weaken the pigments (the color) in the paints very much. some swear it gives them cells using it alone.. f you make too much of the glue and water mixture, its okay. it holds well in a sealed jar. make sure you wipe the rim well after pouring it out or you will have the worlds most boring aquarium filled with glue. lol. i make it by the half gallon and i've never had an issue. you can also save paints not used completely in sealed containers... i buy specimen cups off of amazon (they are the cups you pee in at the doctor if you have bladder infection.. they are semi opaque and have screw on lids, i love em. i used to use the little souffle cups that you would get salad dressing or something in if you ordered take out. you can buy those on amazon as well, or if you have a dollar tree store you can find them in the wedding section with silver ware, etc. good luck. don't be scared, its all trial and error. its fun.

This is beautiful! Some of my best pours were done with just glue and water, I'm in Canada. I use the acid free Mod Podge gloss and they dry with a shine. If they're ones I've kept, I've gotten away so far without varnishing them 😆 I also like to experiment with homemade pouring mediums and I find the glue helps hold cells together so you can stretch them and still have some background colour. Hi, Question ….I want to make some Place Mats & Coasters, would they be able to with stand any heat and if so what materials are required? Also thanks for the videos.
This is one of the coolest paintings I've ever seen. I'm a bit late here, but quick question - what are the little stands in the corners keeping the canvas off of the table? I tried pouring this past weekend and it was tedious to keep lifting the canvasses off the table, and quite messy.
This is the Lexus of paintings. It is so beautiful it glows! I've been pouring paint on canvas or canvas board and would love to think that I might paint something half as wonderful. Each detailed explanation has inspired me to give it a try. Thank you for sharing your talent and experience with us. Stay well.
yep. don't hold it very close tho. its easy to scorch your paint and it can also blow the paint a bit and if its started to skin, you will get dents that just are horrible. so keep it far away and make more passes rather than close.
I was holding my breath on that last long side and saying stop. It is awesome, Damn now I have to try this. Thank you so much, you are so cute. Soap maker from the U.S.
wet your entire canvas next time ... and smal cups in your corners? then the paint doesnt build up or damn up at the dry edge... slippery-er makes more gradient cells. love ya thanks for filming.
The complimentary colors actually added some nice browns in there. Nicely done! Found you today and am looking forward to watching more. Thanks for sharing!
Sorry, I'm a visual learner. Is it possible to do a tutorial from the very beginning. when you are combining the actual ingredients in the cups (paint, glue, water, floetrol? The one part this or the two parts that or 60% glue to 40% water can be a little confusing. Are you filling to a specific line or marker on the cup?
Yes, very nice but prefer you show from the real beginning, and for foreigners you speak very fast, sorry but I would really like understand everything. You are not the responsible but if you can help us, it would be fantastic. Thank you so much. Have a great day.
Me too. Lost in the first two minutes. It's not at all patronising to treat your viewers like five year olds! Some of us come here with no knowledge whatsoever of fancy ingredients.
A stunning canvas.. i use glue and water but never achieve cells like that. Don't think i added enough silicone. Thanks for a great video. Practice! Practice! Practice! 😳x
Your title is misleading. 1:02 "I'm using treadmill silicone ..." Silicone is what helps make more cells. It's still beautiful, please don't get me wrong, but it's also not just glue and water. It's beautiful cells with glue, water, and silicone.
It's a title that is geared toward getting hits if we're being brutally honest here. Otherwise why even say only glue and water? Not being mean just making an observation
It says Glue & water as a pouring medium in title. Whats misleading about that? Silicone is added to the overall mix, just like the paint.... I don't get where you're coming from.
George Hellion not misleading at all. You saw her put the silicone in the cups. She was referring to not using any pouring medium other than glue. Many options are available to artists for pouring.
it said "as a pouring medium" though. the silicone additive is always optional, whatever pouring medium one uses. I also wasn't sure at first whether silicone will be used or not but either way it is a good poring medium alternative to flowtrol.
nope, Sherrie was right. There is a way to correct people without making them feel inept and making yourself look like an ass. Hope that helps in the future, "but you probably get that a lot." someone said that once.. oh it was you. your comment was far more shitty whiny and bitchy, and may i add, entitled and condescending and not the least bit helpful to the conversation. oh, and in art, you get a lot of constructive criticism. remember not to take others ideas too personally. at least not to the point of it making you bully people who are newer to the information presented. not sure if you paint, you didn't seem to come here to discuss it. we get ya. i hope you have a better week over the holiday. take care.

I want this one. Most beautiful paint I've seen
How do u get so many cells they are so beautiful
I love seeing the different techniques artists use. Cant wait to try this soon
OMG you are AMAZING!!! I never get cells... what temp is the room ur in? Humidity?
Lol on the phone tilting! Gorgeous!!! Trying this today!
Very lovely!
I don't have a blow torch - can I use my craft air gun instead?
yep. don't hold it very close tho. its easy to scorch your paint and it can also blow the paint a bit and if its started to skin, you will get dents that just are horrible. so keep it far away and make more passes rather than close.
I was holding my breath on that last long side and saying stop. It is awesome, Damn now I have to try this. Thank you so much, you are so cute. Soap maker from the U.S.
Adoro o seu entusiasmo e a sua creatividade. Isto é a Primavera. Maravilhoso!
wet your entire canvas next time ... and smal cups in your corners? then the paint doesnt build up or damn up at the dry edge... slippery-er makes more gradient cells. love ya thanks for filming.
@Txcoolbreeze Charlotte any prepared paint spread on canvas in thin layer
The complimentary colors actually added some nice browns in there. Nicely done! Found you today and am looking forward to watching more. Thanks for sharing!
Sorry, I'm a visual learner. Is it possible to do a tutorial from the very beginning. when you are combining the actual ingredients in the cups (paint, glue, water, floetrol? The one part this or the two parts that or 60% glue to 40% water can be a little confusing. Are you filling to a specific line or marker on the cup?
same here
i agree!
👌👌👌👏👏👏
Out of this world.....now.....see if I can do it....lol.....thanks for sharing.👍
I'm so glad you didn't speed up the video during the pour. It's hard to understand how the paint behaves when the video is sped up.
Gorgeous love all the colorful cells first time I see such effect GOOD JOB as always 👏👏👏👏🌹
I was watching this on my phone and caught myself tilting my phone with you as you tilted your canvas..... made me laugh at myself.
me too
A stunning canvas.. i use glue and water but never achieve cells like that. Don't think i added enough silicone. Thanks for a great video. Practice! Practice! Practice! 😳x
You don't sound conceded. Just remember, this technique takes a partner. You do the pour, then God takes the wheel.
That is absolutely gorgeous!
One of the middle cells looks like a smiley
OMG! You are so inspiring! I am going to start doing this. I am even thinking about tabletops! You did and DO an amazing job! Love it!
Your title is misleading. 1:02 "I'm using treadmill silicone ..." Silicone is what helps make more cells. It's still beautiful, please don't get me wrong, but it's also not just glue and water. It's beautiful cells with glue, water, and silicone.
And paint...the water and glue is the pouring medium. Cant fit all that in the title.
Also the silicon is specifically designed as a treadmill belt lubricant, but it has an application in painting.
@@Creativeabandon of course all these tutorials are only there to help us. No other intention....😱
Stunning colors. Beautiful
With all of these vastly different colors?
I would name this...
"Circus"...
Well that's settled....headed to get some glue. :)
Resin&AcrylicArtByChristyTrivette RT, I was just about to get a gallon of floetrol but I may save it for later and try this first.
Beautiful colors and cells!!!
Who else is here because of Jenna marbles?
I'm sure its the only reason this was in my suggested 😂
THAT IS GLORIOUS!!!!!!
You used silicon so this mix is not just glue and water. Very misleading....
George Hellion not misleading at all. You saw her put the silicone in the cups. She was referring to not using any pouring medium other than glue. Many options are available to artists for pouring.
@jackiefreitas1 wow your post is far more "disgusting" than the original posters.
it said "as a pouring medium" though. the silicone additive is always optional, whatever pouring medium one uses. I also wasn't sure at first whether silicone will be used or not but either way it is a good poring medium alternative to flowtrol.
nope, Sherrie was right. There is a way to correct people without making them feel inept and making yourself look like an ass. Hope that helps in the future, "but you probably get that a lot." someone said that once.. oh it was you. your comment was far more shitty whiny and bitchy, and may i add, entitled and condescending and not the least bit helpful to the conversation. oh, and in art, you get a lot of constructive criticism. remember not to take others ideas too personally. at least not to the point of it making you bully people who are newer to the information presented. not sure if you paint, you didn't seem to come here to discuss it. we get ya. i hope you have a better week over the holiday. take care.
