Lorraine: That is truly awesome! You did a fantastic piece! I agree with Clare S. in the comment below. I love any kind of art and I have never known about anything like this (acrylic pours) before. I want to do one! now!!! I also love how you are right at the beach doing this and we can hear the waves crashing as you did the wave pour. Thank you!
Awe thank you SO much Lorraine :) You should definitely give it a try it's super fun :) I also just wrote a new ebook for beginners to get started if your interested; craftyjenn.mybigcommerce.com/acrylic-pouring-for-beginners/ The wave sounds are actually just added - I wish I was at the ocean but I thought the soothing sounds would be fitting for this wave painting :) Thank you so much for watching ;)
Awe thank you SO much LOL I greatly appreciate the compliment!! I have lots of people that hate my laugh or joy in my videos LOL So I greatly appreciate people that also enjoy my laugh and vids :) Thank you SO much and thank you for watching ;)
Omg thank you for showing us how to make this beautiful abstract. I tried it and it came out so good, I got so many compliments from my family and friends. I am giving it to my brother for his new beach house. ❤️❤️👍
I'm happy have been the only one of these artists with the poor technique that has stopped just in time before they mess up the whole thing I love it congratulation you know exactly when to stop beautiful beautiful beautiful loving every piece you make
Awe thank you SO much :) I hope you have a blast creating your very own ocean wave!! I have an ebook for beginners that explains my process for acrylic pouring if your interested; craftyjennart.ca/acrylic-pouring-for-beginners/ and a link to supplies; www.amazon.com/shop/craftyjenn This will guide you and help you to get started with all you need for acrylic pouring :) I hope this all helps you and thank you so much for watching :)
I stumbled upon your channel, looking for different techniques to make a wave. I really love your wave technique, I totally different than what I’ve been watching. Do you use silicone? If not how do you get the cells?
@@CraftyJenn what you using to do this? I but some silicone one for paint but its not even close to this effect, maybe I give to much or less which I should...
And here I thought you were actually on a screened in porch by the ocean! I noticed the sound of the waves right away. Love that sound. Beautiful wave art.😊
absolutely unbelievably amazing! this is rare case when the title of the video exactly corresponds to what is inside. Many thanks. will watch now your paint mixing video,
And i thought i had seen it all !! Its just mesmerising...absolutely smashing...i aint no artist but i love watchin people good at their craft...and this here is beyond that...thank u for sharin ur wonderful creation...loved it....👍
Hi! Really pretty painting! I was wondering if you could make a video on what to do after the painting drys. (unless if you have made one then is it possible if someone links?) only because when my painting drys, it kinda goes all mat so I put a gloss over it to bring back its shine. But for some reasons the paints will all mush together (even though it’s completely dry) and ruin the painting. Sorry if this is long and hard to understand but if you could leave some tips on what to do after you painting drys that would be great! ❤️✨
Hi Jasmine! Thank you So much for watching :) I have some videos of my dried paintings; ua-cam.com/video/IC_7XHAZquc/v-deo.html You can see some that I have covered with Liquidex varnish to make them pop again, I also use resin which really makes them pop! I do let mine dry for several days or even a week before I coat them. I'm not sure why all your paints would mush together. That totally sucks! What kind of gloss are you using? I will try to make another video where I show how I coat my paintings with the varnish ;) I've done some videos where I show the resin; ua-cam.com/play/PLV2d0sdUFLRgKZzPT8W_iLQGUpskF8Tlg.html Hope these will help in the meantime :)
CraftyJenn ah okay that you very much! Yeah that helps a lot as I was leaving mine until the next day to varnish them :) I currently use the Winsor and Newton gloss varnish for acrylic mediums. I’m not 100% sure if I can use this varnish for these types of paintings, it’s just what some one recommended to me 😊
Also (sorry that I keep asking questions, I’m really new to this type of style) but I was wondering on how you get rid of the lumps in the paint because that always ruins my paintings ahaha! :)
No worries ask away :) You can usually see the lumps when you tip the canvas or pour the paint so I just pick them out with my finger or palette knife LOL I have had a couple paintings where the lumps did dry but it's part of the painting so I just leave them. You could resin them and then it will coat over the lumps so you can't see them as much. I hope this helps :) Also, I use Liquitex varnish/gloss for most of my paintings. I got a bucket of it on Amazon that I think will last me a while LOL Here's a link if your interested; amzn.to/E5CQCD (Canadian Amazon) and (US Amazon) amzn.to/2pPxeVO It also comes in smaller amounts :)
Jasmine... I let my paintings dry two days then I spray with a couple coats of matte finish mod podge. I let that dry for an entire day and then I use a high gloss polyurethane, brushing it on. Three coats, drying completely between them. It really makes colors pop
My daughter recently redid her room with a beach/mermaid theme. We've been looking for some DIY art to hang on the walls. This has really inspired us. Thank you!
Awe thank you SO much and thank you for watching ;) I hope you guys have fun creating some new art for her room :) I have a new ebook that might help you get started; craftyjenn.mybigcommerce.com/acrylic-pouring-for-beginners/ Thank you for watching ;)
I've just started working with poured painting so I am binge watching all the videos I can on the subject. This is by far the most beautiful wave I've seen. Thanks you for sharing.
It almost looks like a blue snake in the wave. The cells are gorgeous. It was very interesting how you did it and you were fiddling. Fiddle fiddle fiddle. I loved the very first swipe you did with a paper towel, it almost look like lace... then when you went over it... you made me nervous. It turned out well, but I wish you had left a little bit of that lace. I totally enjoyed it. Thank you so much for sharing. Awesome & so beautiful 💎💙
Thank you So much Diane :) It's actually free UA-cam music. Here's the link; ua-cam.com/users/audiolibrarysoundeffects Just search "ocean" and it's "waves crashing on rock beach" :)
I justed watched Jenn's video on mixing paint for the pour. So easy. Especially because she has a link to all the products in Amazon. I'm gonna be a pouring fiend. I'm too paranoid to risk socializing with my bad asthma. Painting has made me so happy in quarantine (SIP). I'll be giving the paintings away.
Yeah and thank you SO much Sabrina for using my Amazon links!!! You are Awesome!! I do hope you have a blast creating your pour paintings and stay safe :) I know it's been a different and difficult time and I hope you find some love and therapy in creating art as I have :) Thank you for sharing and for watching :)
What a great outcome, I was holding my breath every time you did another swipe and kept thinking "oh no! what's going to happen" I think I'll be much more confident of doing multiple swipes on a painting now. Thanks for sharing. :D
Thank you So much Anne!! I use Floetrol, a little water and some treadmill silicone in the acrylic paint. I've got a video on how I mix my paints; ua-cam.com/video/9A0z2KACrSc/v-deo.html Hope this helps:) Here are some Amazon links for the silicone to help :) Canada Amazon; amzn.to/2IfVubk and US Amazon; amzn.to/2Ihv9tn
This is a wonderful technique to try. I used to do lot of pastel drawings but I have MS and have lost fine motor control of my fingers; pours I could maybe do. I just love colors and messing with colors so I am very interested in trying this sort of art. Your wave came out spectacularly and I kept thinking how lucky you are to live so close to the ocean. I am always looking for a good wave and pebbles recording so I will check out your recommendation. Thank you so much. You made my world a little more colorful again!
Awe thank you SO much :) So sorry to hear about your MS but I think you can definitely do acrylic pouring :) I have an eBook for beginners if interested; craftyjenn.mybigcommerce.com/acrylic-pouring-for-beginners/ It explains my process and formula :) I hope you give it a try and have fun creating :) Thank you SO much for watching ;)
Hello :) I usually mix it like a honey viscosity but sometimes a little bit runnier thank honey if I'm doing a swipe. I hope this helps :) I know it can sometimes be hard to get the right viscosity.
My wife wanted to try this so she went and bought some silicone and was really upset it didn't work...Worked fine for sealing the guttering on the roof though lol
Wonderful video. Love, love,LOVE, the wave. Gorgeous. Thank you for the instructions and examples of joy and ease of your creative process. Both practical and inspirational. Thank you very much.
It will but you might get some bubbles that form. Using the torch helps to pop the silicone bubbles but you can go without - it might just have less cells. thank you for watching ;)
Thank you SO much Jan!! Yes the base white has Floetrol and a little bit of water to make it runnier. Here's a video of me mixing paints if your interested :) ua-cam.com/video/9A0z2KACrSc/v-deo.html Thank you SO much for watching!!
mansi bisht Floetrol is a product sold mainly in America, but a few other countries, in Europe it’s called Ewatrol. It is a commercial product additive but artists have discovered that it aids the making of cells in acrylic pouring.
what an amazing looking canvas, I have never watched anything like this before. Each time I was thinking no its perfect but you did each bit perfectly and ended up with such a wonderful creation.
Thank you SO much :) LOL I've had many people tell me the same thing that they were biting their nails with each swipe LOL Thank you so much for watching :)
Yes I mixed the acrylic paint with Floetrol and a bit of water. You can watch my paint mixing video; ua-cam.com/video/9A0z2KACrSc/v-deo.html Hope this helps :)
you have such an amazing eye for the right colors. I love this painting so much. It's absolutely beautiful. And I love your giggles in between, it really shows how much you enjoy that!! Thank you so much.
Awe thank you SO much :) I greatly appreciate your beautiful compliments :) Yes I totally enjoyed creating this one LOL It was super fun!! Thank you SO much for watching ;)
WOWZA!!, I just love this, STUNNING colors & result, will have to try this soon. i just started paint pouring a month ago & already have 36 pieces done!,! A pleasant & quite therapeutic addiction in this process... going into business for myself w/these artwork pieces...I love making my own colors just like U did here too! U R the first person on here I’ve seen do that ,so I know I’m on track now, validation & huge inspiration in viewing this vid, subscribed! Keep up sharing your talents!!!
Awe thank you SO much HeartWorK!!! Yes definitely give it a try it's super fun :) WOW you are a rock star with that many pieces already!! I know it's kinda addictive isn't it LOL Wow thank you SO much for subscribing and watching :) I feel honored at all the love on UA-cam :) You keep up the amazing artwork too and thank you again :)

I know that this is an old video, but I am “binge watching“ your videos… I am obsessed with them! You have tried so many of the things that I have had in my mind for sometime. When I saw your channel and watched the first few videos I was hooked ! You are so talented with that cake decorating spatula amazing point I’d love to see your first ocean wave video, and every time I go back, thinking I found it it’s not the one that I see in your intro. Could you please leave me to that video that you show in the intro? Thank you for letting us share in your creative process!
Awe thank you SO much for binge watching my vids LOL Love that!! I like to delve into everything creative and my brain never turns off on different ideas so I try to create all I can LOL Yeah here's the link to the wave from my intro: ua-cam.com/video/xZjdYMFkvwA/v-deo.html Thank you SO much for watching my vids and channel!!! I hope you have an awesome day!!
Love this Jenn!!!! You are such an inspiration. I will try this soon. I promise to post and share so you can see how it turns out. I hope I make you proud.
Awe thank you SO much Sandra for your kind beautiful words!!! Yes please share a pic of your wave as I love seeing what everyone creates :) I know it will be awesome!! I hope you have fun creating and thank you SO much for watching ;)
whats funny is that it is one of the best waves ever ... I've watched many people try to come close and you do it just a few steps and I was thinking wait I love the sound of the waves and yet nothing is blowing around but it looked like maybe you were inside with great even lighting and a picnic type table covered and then whaalaa a beautiful wave almost as if it was real water being poured and caught by a good shot using a Nikon camera lol as if the water was stopped in a time exposure really really cool you go girl!
You are amazing ! I just purchased your e book. Thank you for sharing your beautiful artistry and for inspiring someone like myself whom unfortunately is housebound.
Awe thank you SO much for your kind beautiful words :) Thank you SO much for purchasing my eBook!! I hope you have a blast creating your artwork and thank you for watching ;)
How awesome is this? You’re creating an ocean wave right on the beach with the crashing ocean waves sounding all around you! ❤️ the wave is extremely 3 dimensional with a trough in the center curling up! Too much!!
Awe thank you SO much :) but I just added the ocean wave sounds to the video as I thought it fit the theme ;P I'm so happy you enjoy it :) Thank you SO much for watching ;)
Awe thank you SO much :) I have an ebook if interested that explains my process: craftyjenn.mybigcommerce.com/acrylic-pouring-for-beginners/ Thank you SO much for watching ;)
Waves on canvas....and the music of the waves in the background....omgosh, I may replay this video about 20 times. It's stunning!!! Thank you for this peaceful lesson!!!
Awe thank you SO much for your beautiful words and kindness :) Thank you SO much for watching ;)
I really like the fact that you talk us through the process.
Thank you for not tuning us out with music. I don’t mind the music as long as you continue with us each step.
Been painting for years but never thought if pouring paint. Found your videos and I'm flabbergasted. You're work blew me away. I'm going to try other mediums as well. Thanks for the inspiration.❤️
Awe thank you SO much :) I'm so happy you have enjoyed my videos and yes definitely give acrylic pouring a try it's super fun :) Keep up the amazing creating :)
Crafty Jenn, your talent is amazing! I was so impressed with this wave painting that I had to give it a try and I’m so happy with the result. You teach in such a clear and understanding way. I’m 82 years old and am still learning! Thank you so much for sharing your methods with us!❤️❤️❤️
Awe thank you SO much Helen for your kind beautiful words :) I'm SO happy yours turned out awesome and I greatly appreciate you watching ;)
Oh my goodness... Jenn!! 😃😍👍🏻
I am a sailor and a diver (Atlantic and Baltic Sea) and I can feel the bubbles if the breaking wave when seeing this!
This is so full of life...
I am a little sad that my dad cannot see this. He passed away 8 years ago. He used to be a Navy officer, also sailor and diver and as long as I remember he had three arts in his wall in his office as a doctor instead of all these certificates doctors usually hang to the wall: two large photos of "Gorch Fock" (the old sailing ship he started his career on) and "Hokusai's wave". Do you know this?
And this wave reminds me on Hokusai.
Awesome!
In things like this viewers can see the difference if someone is just pouring and watching the bubbles making cells, which is boring after a year or so. Or if someone's an artist.
What you are doing with the fluid is art because you manipulate an difficult materia to get in shape for a special result. And this result is alive!

That's one heck of a compliment!
loving the background sounds of the ocean, during this painting process to paint an ocean wave.
How in God's name have I managed to live for a half century on this earth having never encountered this before?????
LOL Clare you are awesome!!!! Thank you SO much and thank you for watching 😊

I stumbled upon your channel, looking for different techniques to make a wave. I really love your wave technique, I totally different than what I’ve been watching. Do you use silicone? If not how do you get the cells?
The cell combo of the Black and Cobalt mixtures is simply stunning.
Thank you SO much :)
@@CraftyJenn what you using to do this?
I but some silicone one for paint but its not even close to this effect, maybe I give to much or less which I should...
I only realized a third of the way through that there were the sounds of waves playing😂
LOL Well I wanted to add sounds that fit the theme :) Thank you so much for watching ;)
I didn’t notice til you said it! Lol I was too mesmerized by the paint!
I thought it was cars passing
And here I thought you were actually on a screened in porch by the ocean! I noticed the sound of the waves right away. Love that sound. Beautiful wave art.😊
CraftyJenn hdjdut and i thought you were actually near beach i-

Hi! Really pretty painting! I was wondering if you could make a video on what to do after the painting drys. Hi Jasmine! Thank you So much for watching :) I have some videos of my dried paintings; ua-cam.com/video/IC_7XHAZquc/v-deo.html

I do let mine dry for several days or even a week before I coat them. I'm not sure why all your paints would mush together. That totally sucks! What kind of gloss are you using?
I will try to make another video where I show how I coat my paintings with the varnish ;) I've done some videos where I show the resin;

You could resin them and then it will coat over the lumps so you can't see them as much.

Awe Thank you SO much :) and thank you for watching ;)
beautiful reminds me of Japanese wave paintings
Awe thank you SO much ;)
Yeah, but not similar
Yes, when I saw the way it was coming together I though, "That's like a Hokusai wave!"
I've just started working with poured painting so I am binge watching all the videos I can on the subject. This is by far the most beautiful wave I've seen. Thanks you for sharing.
Awe thank you SO much Lynda!!! I hope you will enjoy watching some more of mine ;P You are too kind and awesome!!

I do hope you have a blast creating your pour paintings and stay safe :) I know it's been a different and difficult time and I hope you find some love and therapy in creating art as I have :) Thank you for sharing and for watching :)
Best wave that I have seen
Awe thank you SO much and thank you for watching :)
Diana Davila -A
What a great outcome, I was holding my breath every time you did another swipe and kept thinking "oh no! what's going to happen" I think I'll be much more confident of doing multiple swipes on a painting now. Thanks for sharing. :D
Awe thank you SO much :) LOL yes I have other paintings too where I swipe a lot but I always get more cells so don't be afraid to keep swiping :)
Who else flipped their phone to see😂
LOL I know I have gotten better at video taping the right way up LOL Thank you so much for watching ;)
haha. me! when Jen put the dark and medium blue on top. i was thinking that's bottom part and so i flipped my phone.
LOL Too funny :) Thank you for watching :P
I was thinking of turning my laptop over. Glad I wasn't the only one!!
Me
Amazing results, flipping the camera round, brought this to life.
Thank you for sharing ❤️
Jenn!! Wow!! That way the spectacular! What did you use to make the cells?
Thank you So much Anne!! I use Floetrol, a little water and some treadmill silicone in the acrylic paint. I've got a video on how I mix my paints; ua-cam.com/video/9A0z2KACrSc/v-deo.html
Hope this helps:)
Here are some Amazon links for the silicone to help :) Canada Amazon; amzn.to/2IfVubk and US Amazon; amzn.to/2Ihv9tn

Whats the viscosity like of the paints? I think I thin mine too much
Hello :) I usually mix it like a honey viscosity but sometimes a little bit runnier thank honey if I'm doing a swipe. I hope this helps :) I know it can sometimes be hard to get the right viscosity.
Best wave ever. Just started experimenting with Pours. Having a blast.
Thank you SO much ;) Yeah I'm so happy you are having fun experimenting with acrylic pouring :) Have fun creating and thank you for watching ;)
what causes the cells to form? do you use a chemical additive or do they form naturally?
I use some Floetrol and water and silicone. You can watch my paint mixing video here ua-cam.com/video/9A0z2KACrSc/v-deo.html
I hope this helps :)
CraftyJenn thanks!
Lyunx The Dragon ty
Baby oil seems to work well for cells too.
Awe Thank you SO much :) and thank you for watching ;)
will it do fine without the torch?
It will but you might get some bubbles that form. Using the torch helps to pop the silicone bubbles but you can go without - it might just have less cells. thank you for watching ;)
Jenn - what kind of torch did you use? I can't find it on the supplies list. Thanks!
@@kailahoar2099 I'm pretty sure one can use either a very small torch lighter too or maybe a heat blower (the kind used to help scraping off paint)
WOW! You really nailed that one. I've been pouring for a few years but never got results like that. Well done!
Awe thank you SO much :) and thank you for watching :)
I like the roar of ocean in the background, quite relaxing, did you add the sound to the video or is it natural background sounds?
Thank you SO much Helena!! I added the beach sounds LOL I wish I lived near the ocean but I'm surrounded by snow right now LOL
Brilliant idea! Absolutely brilliant! I love it. ❤️💕💥
Great job! It’s beautiful, captures essence of open sea approaching land. Really, really love this.

Awe thank you SO much and thank you for watching ;)
Very, very clever. I love it. I could tell you were so excited .
Did you put Floetrol in the white base paint? Thanks for sharing.
❤️. 👍. 🇬🇧
Thank you SO much Jan!! Yes the base white has Floetrol and a little bit of water to make it runnier. Here's a video of me mixing paints if your interested :)
ua-cam.com/video/9A0z2KACrSc/v-deo.html
Thank you SO much for watching!!
What's floetrol? N what for plz?
mansi bisht Floetrol is a product sold mainly in America, but a few other countries, in Europe it’s called Ewatrol.
Is there acrylic paint mixed with something to make it runny?
Yes I mixed the acrylic paint with Floetrol and a bit of water. You can watch my paint mixing video; ua-cam.com/video/9A0z2KACrSc/v-deo.html
Hope this helps :)
CraftyJenn Thank you, I will! 😃

whats funny is that it is one of the best waves ever ...
Awe thank you SO much :) LOL Love your story you write - thank you for sharing and for watching ;)
