- Yes my dudes! This one is less of a drum lesson and more of a quick tip that has really helped me to play 1 handed 16th note grooves faster and for longer without getting as tired out! Definitely saved me a few times when my hand is getting worn out! No notation for this one, just try it out and see if it helps you how it has helped me! Alex 👊

@@DrumHubTuition talk more abt stick control!!
I started to work on onehanded 16ths last week as I was told to play them by my now former drum teacher and he didn’t show me the technique so I had to teach myself because it was hurting to one handed 16ths with the normal wrist stroke. Now I realized today that I’m switching between grips automatically but until just now I didn’t know it was ok to do so.
That's sick mate, they are super fun once you get them down! 1 handed 16ths can be playing in french or german grip so changing between them is no problem at all, you just want to be conscious of how frequently you change so you avoid too much twisting motion! My general rule of thumb for technique is that if it's hurting, you are doing it wrong, if it's burning, you are building stamina! Stamina takes a long time to build so just be patient and enjoy playing the grooves! Hope that helps! Alex 👊
@@DrumHubTuition sometimes it feels like the pain you get when you’re having a flu. What about that?
🇫🇷🔥
Yes BAS my dude!! 🌞
I suppose this is a similar idea from switching from trad to French/german grip to help the wrist muscles
I would imagine so my dude! Whatever it takes to keep it going haha! Thanks for watching! Alex 👊
Does your fulcrum finger change between grips? i.e. middle finger for German, index finger for French?
Hey Cameron, I always use my middle finger my dude but you can do whatever works for you! Sometimes in french I will also use my fingers to control the stick for these grooves but for me, just the change from one to the other is enough to save me from wearing out sometimes! Alex 👊
Are you using the moeller method here?
Yes mate! All explained at the start of the video! Alex 👊
