There is this old legend that says if one of these sings while flying above your house, it means that you're going to die soon. Excellent footage! Really impressive. Just a note that the Great also occurs throughout the Caribbean lowlands.

Love the casual 'this is a potoo (sad whistle noise) and this is a northern potoo (evil laughter)' cos listening to it without looking at the vid makes it seem like there is a guy holding two potoo birds, one is a sad stick and the other a possessed stick.

I really love these birds. They are so strange and cute. The sound they make is a bit disturbing though.

This is why people get creeped out in the woods, they imagine the sound is from bigfoot.

That's one of the craziest looking birds I've seen in a while here on UA-cam 😁 Not sure what to make off it yet : Stick Insect / Kameleon / Frog / Bird mix... but pretty cool documentary 👍👍👍

Just when you think you've seen every type of bird you can, this thing pops up. What a bizarre little beast. Haven't had a WTF Bird moment like this since I discovered Turkey Vultures, which apparently live in my area.

Freaky ass bird...I hope to never see one of those things staring into my house from the bush or tree(s) outside my house especially at night. Thankfully, unless one escapes a zoo, I should be ok since I live in the far north of North America.
