This is my comfort song
Thanks for the laugh!
THIS IS HONESTLY ONE OF THEIR BEST ALBUM. THE SONG IS. A M A Z I N G 🎤🎻🎹🎵🎵🎵DOMINO🎶🎶🎶
Great Breaking up album
It's a rare diamond! Masterpiece! God bless you Genesis Band! I love you all!
Genesis forever🥰🥰🥰. Phil 's voice is always on point, it never gets old💖💖💖. Love Always to Genesis...Thank you so much for your music🎶🎶🎶
He was a good replacement for Peter, both of them were awesome frontmen.
The sound of this is the best I’ve heard. Excellent job!
I hadn’t listened to this regularly in 30+ years. Out of nowhere, I recently had a memory of someone I almost forgot about, and then reached out to them. Now this song fits my vibe perfectly. 🙌
Hell yes this is what Genesis is
One of the best 80s Genesis tracks
1992's We Can't Dance Tour, when The Last Domino starts and Phil is up on a pedestal in front of the screen is easily the best part of any concert I've ever been too.
I was lucky enough to see Genesis duke, Abacab and mama tours and the best was always the cage medley and afterglow.
Ahhh!! 🤜🏻🤛🏼💥YES!! YES YES!! 👏👏 I went to the Foxboro MA show from that tour. SO GREAT!!! I have all Genesis albums and they're my favorite band. Invisible Touch is my favorite album. I think Genesis was always even better live. 🌟🌟
Completely agree with you, I was halfway between the stage and the mixing desk at Roundhay Park. My friend said my jaw almost hit the floor at that moment. I'll always love Genesis, best band ever. I feel so lucky to have seen them four times.
While a lot of my peers were into Nirvana, Pearl Jam, or whatever Top 40 song in the early 90s, this album was a staple in my Walkman while riding the bus to and from school. I don't care it was several years outdated at that point. This song is still a favorite and I'm ecstatic I finally heard and saw it performed live in 2021.
What a great song! I really like the dramatic changes that occur throughout.
Hearing it with headphones or buds is intense. Many of Genesis songs are like this. "Fading Lights" is one of my faves. In the instrumental interlude, the music takes you through all the emotions of the lyrics; peace, turmoil, sadness, serenity, chaos, transformation, happiness, love... WHEW! 🤯🔥🥰
@@mareclVery true! I always like listening to Genesis under headphones. Fading Lights is a great song too is one of the gems from We Can't Dance.
Legendary! Such an iconic album during the Phil era, and what a masterpiece this track is specially with both parts combined. Who would of thought this song would become such a legendary masterpiece for Genesis, and even be the name of their last tour. One of the best tracks in the album, and even sung in live, sounds greater. So much emotion, creative lyrics, and instrumental, a true masterpiece in the band. Long Live Genesis. All the best legends. 🔥👑
Much better live
The drums are outstanding.
Might as well be one of their darkest songs, as the First Lebanon War (which inspired the lyrics) directly motivated Bin Laden to plan the 9/11 attacks; indeed, including the subsequent everlasting events, the implicated ones neither knew -and/or willingly made their best to ignore- what they did nor what they began... Timeless words, undoubtedly (and sadly).
No podrías haberlo dicho mejor.
This convinces me of the enormous vocal quality of Phil Collins 👍👏, and also as a Drummer 👍
This song is like no other. Across time, languages and genres. At least four distinct beats, cadences, tunes, rythms and metres all mashed into one. Brulliant.
Back in the 80s BBC radio Solent used the instrumental version of this track as backing music to the local football results show. So dramatic, added an urgency to the show. Great days.
This live in Wembley and Knebworth was the highlight of the show .......incredible.
another awesome song by the greatest musicians of all time
Magical... THE BEST. Really Genesis and Phil still THE BEST forever. The Perfection. Holy Trinity.
Some of my earliest recollections in life involve the Invisible Touch music video. I didn't purchase the album until 2019 and I was not prepared for Domino. The nightmarish quality of The Last Domino really hits like a meteor.
Love and miss you guys.
Literally my favorite song by any artist ever, fucking incredible.
A nod to their prog past.a Very good song, beautiful drumming
What to write there ,just mastery in every detail, musically , vocally, expression in Phil's voice, fire that adds rapacity in expressing the text, great instrumental sound ,just like the world legend Genesis , I love this album ,thank you so much 👏👏👏👏👏👏 bravo Genesis 👏👏👏👏👏❤❤❤
This music is rough as Sailors fountain pen nib writing... Such a joy to listen
Genesis gents are BRILLIANT in their compositions. Absolutely LEGENDARY ❤ I love the musical ride through this song. My favorite album & all time favorite band. Hope the boys are happy & enjoying their best lives. I HATE that we've reached "the final page" ("Fading Lights") for their combined musical genius. I'm however VERY GRATEFUL for the many years of AMAZING SONGS, MUSIC & PERFORMANCES. Much Thanks to MUSICAL LEGENDS Tony, Phil & Mike! ❤⚘ 👏🌟🌟🌟
Great comment and tribute mare. They were my life's soundtrack. Knew it was over with fading lights. What followed was sad. No power.
@@marvinlewis5591 I've lived the same soundtrack of Genesis & Phil. "Fading Lights" heard with headphones/buds on high volume is among the most intense of musical journeys. The musical interlude that brings all the emotions of it's lyrics and a life... turmoil, love, intensity, sadness, chaos, happiness, serenity.... WHEW! 🤯 What a song. Legendary Geniuses. 💞👏🌟🌟🌟🌠
I'm old been listening and seeing Genesis since I was 9years old, there were very few women in the audience way back then, wonderful to see such a lovely women appreciating this iconic band
@@robertsimpson9403 😄 👏 the early years of Genesis were certainly different. I became a fan in 1980 when their songs began to air more often in the US. I was 19.
Happiest of holidays & Merry Christmas !
@@robertsimpson9403 let's not say we're old. Let's say, ummmm, refined. 😁
What a badass song, with different emotions and levels💯
What a band.......the greatest ever.
GRAAAAAAA RAAAAAHB IT'S EVERYWHEREEEE AAAAAAA
My favourite all time band never be anyone close phil collins is a legend of the music industry and why he hasn't been knighted for what he has done and achieved in his career still baffles me. Hope you enjoy your retirement after a long career thanks for all the music.
Peter Gabriel, Steve Hackett and Tony Banks also deserve that. He's just the voice of the band. Peter Gabriel's feathers outweigh what Phil achieved.
Eine der besten Bands, meine Favoriten seit 45 Jahren, ob mit Phil Collins oder Peter Gabriel, einfach nur klasse😀😀🤩👌👍
One of the best bands, my favorites for 45 years, whether with Phil Collins or Peter Gabriel, just great😀😀🤩👌👍
Hallo,Genau...idem pour moi,je suis Fan de Genesis depuis 1970 (j’avais 14 ans) AH...GENESIS...👏👌😉🤩👋✌❣🇧🇪
Specificly song from the 80! What a wondeful feeling listening to it.
Thank you for posting this as one song!
Jeez, how on earth could I forget this beautiful song? I saw the title and as soon as I heard the first notes played, I was back all those years. Remembering almost all the lyrics at once, knowing all the twists in the song, tears behind my eyes. Music is such a strong trigger to old emotions.
It's a great song. The album came out while I was in the Army, it carried me through many nights and was still good for years after that. And obviously, I'm still here...
Genesis for life.
Bellissimo Grazie Genesis Per Sempre Grandi❤️❤️❤️
Super 😉👍👍👏👏👏❤❤❤
One of the best song Genesis. :)))) I would see version Domino live video with 1986!!!!!!!!!!!!!
1987
@@IntoTheWhite04 1986. :)))) With 1987 you have version video Domino good quality. With USA 1986- don't have. :) Similar to In The Cage Medley with Supper Ready. :) With half tour in 1986 should be DVD proshot. :) For example with Toronto.
Lyrics to the legendary Genesis' Hit: 💙👑
The grey of evening fills the room
There's no need to look outside
To see or feel the rain
And I reach across to touch her
But I know that she's not there
Rain keeps running down the window pane
Time is running out for me
Can't you see what you are doing to me?
Can't you see what you have done?
As I try to pass another long and sleepless night
A hundred crazy voices call my name
As I try to pass them by
I almost can believe that she is here
In the glow of the night
Do you know what you have done?
Do you know what you've begun?
Do you see we shall never be together again?
All of my life
For the fonely people, empty rooms
And all the pointless violence, silent tombs
Could it be that we shall be together again?
Sheets of double glazing help to keep outside the night
Only foreign city sirens can cut through
Nylon sheets and blankets help to minimize the cold
But they can't keep out the chilling sounds
Will the nightmare soon give way to dreaming
That she is here with me?
Here in the glow of the night
Do you know what you have done?
Do you know what you've begun?
Do you see we shall never be together again?
All of my life
For the lonely people, empty rooms
And all the pointless violence, silent tombs
Could it be that we shall be together again?
Could it be that we shall be together again?
In silence and darkness
We held each other near that night
We prayed it would last forever
Blood on the windows
Millions of ordinary people are there
They gaze at the scenery
They act as if it is perfectly clear
Take a look at the mountains
Take a look at the beautiful river of blood
The liquid surrounds me
I fight to rise from this river of hell
I stare round about me
Children are swimming and playing with boats
Their features are changing
Their bodies dissolve and I am alone
Now see what you've gone and done
Now see what you've gone and done
Well now you never did see such a terrible thing
As was seen last night on TV
Maybe if we're lucky, they will show it again
Such a terrible thing to see
But there's nothing you can do when you're the next in line
You've got to go domino
Now I'm one with the living and I'm feeling just fine
I know just what I got do
Play the game of happiness and never let on
That it only lives on in a song oh
There's nothing you can do when you're the next in line
You've got to go domino
Do you know what you have done?
Do you know what you've begun?
In silence and darkness
Hold each other near tonight
For will it last forever
Will it last forever?
Forever
There's nothing you can do when you're the next in line
You've got to go domino
Do you know
Do you know
Do you know what you have done?
Do you see what you've begun?
'Cause there's nothing, nothing, nothing, nothing
There's nothing you can do There's nothing you can do
Do you see, do you see what you've done?
Thank you for the lyrics truly appreciate it
This whole album is great, I still have it on cassette
I’ve heard people say this in the app or Genesis jumped the shark, but I don’t get it. This is such a great album, I love the whole thing.
80s relics from a long forgotten progressive rock period. It will never return, unfortunately.
It sounds corny but every time I listen to these albums it takes me back to a time that was a lot more simple and less complicated in the world.
Tony Banks rocks!😎🎹🎶🎼Support Tony by buying 5 or any other of his classical albums!🎵🁽🁯🂂
(domino "art" instead of lyrics 😅)
It's one of my go to tracks to check/test my system. So many changes musical interpretation
And such a great track
Maravilhoso phil Collins 👏👏
What a great long song on a great album. 😀
Genios!!!!❤
It’s insane to me how truly incredible this album is, it’s a masterpiece. Genesis & Phil Collins in particular are otherworldly.
Without a doubt, the best song from the three-piece era.
The live versions of this are even better, in my view.
100% better live. 1987 at wembley is its zenith. Chester's drum fills are unbelievable
There’s too many great songs from the three era to have a `without doubt ‘favourite, this wasn’t even the best album of that period from 77 onwards, commercially it was but genesis had already built up worldwide stardom by then, Duke was likely the peak of the three period artistically.
@@Eleventhearlofmars Totally agree. Domino may be one of the highlights on Invisible Touch, but there are plenty of songs from 1978-81 that are better.
@@Eleventhearlofmars Duke's Travels is one of my favorite tunes ever.
@@Eleventhearlofmarsin terms of album? I think you're correct about Duke, I'm a bit biased on that because it was the first Genesis record I ever owned on vinyl. Duke's travels is a hard Contender against this, a tough call indeed.
Absolutely amazing so talented so love this thanku so much love an God bless always x x x x x x
Still one of the best albums out there. Still one of my favorites.
The drums are fantastic.
Gotta go domino, June 21. No more war.
Classic !
For all time one of the best music group
Such a powerful song with strong lyrics supported by the imstrumental sounds presented with impressing emotions , ups and downs!
I thought you must have written it for this time. But the pictures you draw have been always on this earth ( except the Garden of Eden) with so much pain and suffering, lonelyness, nightmares of hell and cruelty of crimes and war. What can we do? Playing Domino is a good picture. If we touch one of the stones many are effected by this one touch. This song has touched the hearts of many people. Thank you! God bless 🙏💛⚘️
Genesis hat meine Leben begleitet.
The Best 😎
Always a Fan Forever!
Bravo!
The drums are brilliant.
This was a great re-mix. The original was fine, but it had a "wall of sound" style that buried some of the instruments and had a shallow/narrow soundstage. This re-mix broadens and deepens the soundstage. I was able to pick out layers and instruments that I had never heard before. Also, Phil's vocals sounded much more natural. Nice job!
❤️🌹❤️
I love you Genesis ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
MARAVILHOSO!!!
Reminds me of a particular Eighties summer in Berkshire, a Ford Capri Laser and the endless nights. Not going to say any more
From what I just read, it sounds like this is sort of what I've been going through this whole year. (someone struggling to go through hard changes)
I had to have back surgery in January, and, for six months, there were restrictions. Now most of them are lifted, but there are some that never will be, according to doctors and therapists. (There were some hobbies I used to have fun doing, but now I have to do them differently. And I feel like they're no longer fun anymore.) What they did effected me. Now I'm wondering who it will effect next.
I could be wrong, and this could be completely different than what he's talking about.
Genesis super. Phil Collins good luck. Всех благ.
thanks for uploading!
🥀👣🥀Beautiful Sad Love Song but it's brilliant so natural true to heart though it brings tears to my eyes from his heart to his lover's heart 🥀👣🥀☝️
My favorite song from the Invisible Touch album.
I know Invisible Touch wasn't the bands last album, but it should have been!
Shades of early Genesis here, showing they could still work their magic to the end!
While this is one of my all time favorite albums, I have to disagree that it should’ve been their last. “We can’t dance” has some truly incredible songs.
Intemporel ce titre!
Part One - In The Glow Of The Night.
Part Two - The Last Domino.

Shocking placement of advert
Bellissimo brano
I wanted to read 1 word, not 2, im mad... i really love this song now btw, the best thing of the latest tour, after all, that was the name of the game! Talk about having so many changes... i'm doing an a cappella of this track and its complete suffering!
Time is running out
@@garyella1301 I feel that at this rate the a cappella will release next year, i have a better chance of releasing all the long projects before that one lol
I like this better than the Supper's Ready medley

Yes! 🤩🤩 And they kept both parts as one complete song too. Awesome 😎👍
I don't know, there's just something euphoric about it when Phil sings the first "In silence and darkness..." complete with the keyboards played in a minor key, that just makes me want to lose myself in the moment and get my hand in the air. Awesome! 🤩🤩😎👍
Genesis on their way to change the name of "Domino" for the 800th time.

Carrington Event on June 21st to prevent WW3. Won't be no internet after that. Enjoy! Supper is getting ready. Thank you, Genesis. Wanted to lost here.
Brilliant track but does sound better live one of my favourite tracks on the live albums

"Domino"
Part One - "In the Glow of the Night"
Part Two - "The Last Domino"
6:24 and onward is why I came here.
"During a clip titled 'Tony talks about his inspiration' on the DVD, Banks states that his inspiration for the song lyrics was the 1982 Lebanon War which was still being contested prior to the recording of . He set the action in a hotel room in Beirut, minutes after bombs start to fall on the city."
"In 2004, Osama bin Laden claimed that the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Centre were motivated by the Siege of Beirut in 1982, maintaining: ‘I couldn’t forget those moving scenes, blood and severed limbs, women and children sprawled everywhere.’"
"There's nothing you can do when you're the next in line
You've got to go domino
Do you know what you have done?
Do you know what you've begun?", indeed...
❤💋💋💋💋
Отл! Thanks! 👋🇷🇺
Do you know what you have dowowowone
legend, iconic, i love the band even without the genius peter gabriel. i daresay BETTER sometimes....
Am I the only one who thinks this should really be three parts?
Part 2: (I don't know what it would be called.)
Blood on the Windows
Millions of ordinary people are there
They gaze at the scenery
They act as if it is perfectly clear
Take a look at the mountains
Take a look at the beautiful river of blood.
The liquid surrounds me
I fight to rise from this river of hell
I stare round about me
Children are swimming and playing with boats
Their features are changing
Their bodies dissolve and I am alone.
Now see what you've gone and done.
Now see what you've gone and done.
Part 3: The Last Domino"
Well now you never did see such a terrible thing
As was seen last night on T.V.
Maybe if we're lucky, they will show it again
Such a terrible thing to see - oh
But there's nothing you can do when you're next in line
You've got to go domino.
Now I'm one with the living and I'm feeling just fine
I know just what I gotta do
Play the game of happiness and never let on
That it only lives on in a song - oh
Well there's nothing you can do when you're next in line
You've got to go domino.
Do you know what you have done?
Do you know what you've begun?
The ending could also be a 4th part.
In silence and darkness
Hold each other near tonight
For will it last forever?
Will it last forever - forever...
There's nothing you can do when you're the next in line
You've got to go domino.
Do you know, do you know, do you know what you have done
Do you see what you've begun?
Cos there's nothing, nothing, nothing
There's nothing you can do, there's nothing you can do
Do you see, do you see what you have done?
The sound production on this album was completely out of place for its time. The CD, cassette, vinyl did it no justice...
Hearing the SACD version today, on Hi-Res headphones, connected to a Cambridge DSD/DAC, is a pleasantly shocking experience.
