This is genuinely my favourite fight in the game purely because of the spectacle. Every single time Rusty fires the rail cannon, but especially the first time, never gets old. As the man says: *I won’t miss.*
Mechanically, the fight's nothing all that special, but you are absolutely correct that the spectacle is so carefully delivered that it leaves a lasting impression on the first playthrough. It's a boss fight clearly meant to make you go "holy shit" and make your first victory over it feel rad as hell. It's also easy as hell to replay and get lots of money very quickly.
FromSoft's modern works have always been about showing players cool shits through interactive gameplay without taking control off the players. I love this as it utilises the strength that video game has over the other mediums like book or cinema.
I feel like a spectacle fight isn't quite the same as "the coolest". The Worm felt like a dps check and an awesome cinematic moment, but the "Fires" ending where youre in high atmosphere was absolutely stunning for multiple reasons that i dont wanna spoil.
I just played the Karmen Line mission again (partially to S rank it and partially cause I was feeling annoyed at and wanted to give him a good murdering) and I totally agree.
Fromsoftware are masters of the art. A lesser studio would do the easy things; put icons in Elden Ring, put difficulty settings in Sekiro, take control of the camera in AC6
I think I would rate this boss battle as the worst in the game. So, it's surprising to hear anyone praising it. It's not really challenging or fun to fight. It just feels like work you have to do between other fun missions.
I dont get the hype on the worm fight, you wait, shoot it, wait, shoot it, wait, and then you REALLY shoot it. Its insanely trivial and easy and cool the first time, but after the 2nd playthrough youre just like "ok moving on"

Fromsoftware cooked with this one

Guys, not adding quality of life features into a game means it's a good game. You heard it here.

It's because we really like the characters and the story context for this mission. It doesn't matter if it's challenging or not.
I personally found the iceworm annoying af, Ibis was great tho
