Speaking of adding house rules to Digital, I really wish they'd add some of the really fun gameplay twists from Solo Challenges as options to multiplayer. Certainly wouldn't be as competitive, but it'd be a lot of fun. In case no one's ever played them here are a few examples: -Dominance only wins. -No ambushes in the deck. -1 extra VP for every card crafted. -Long games, requiring 40/50/60 VP to win. -Clockwork traits for players. -Eggs appear in random clearings, hatching a warrior when you move into that clearing. That's not even mentioning the faction specific stuff. There's so much potential here and it'd probably take 30 seconds to code, all they have to do is add them as options.
Exporting makes a lot of sense, let's say an opponent doesn't want to spend 3 warriors to buy from u, so u export 1 item, then set the price to 2. In their perspective they spent 2 but from ur perspective u get approx 3. Too bad the rule for protectionism makes it too risky to do such maneuver, including selling at price 1, because u might not end up getting the regular 2 warrior if no one buys or in the case of setting the price to1, only one buys from u. We house ruled protectionism so that it fills u up to 2 if it's below it, making riverfolk way more fun to play.
choosing your own demise reminded me of a game in which I meneged to squeeze out 13 points last turn to be on 29, but the vagabond (which i had coalition with) had charm offensive and went after me
That Charm Offensive was the most alpha male move I've ever seen. Without a rival militant faction, the cats can just completely take control of half the board with relative ease.
TLDR: * Place 3-4 early strongholds * Use the rowdy mood + crafting rather than feeding VP via mobs (or spam mobs and use bitter if you think they'll survive a turn) * Fill your hoard with boot/hammer/sword/tea (cause these are your expendable moods) * Use the stubborn mood every other turn * Once you have a deathball of ~8+ rats on your WL, go relentless and delete every other player off the map

(just wanna have chalenge, with my ruthless reputation in root) Even tho you will propably not make LotH video , I am asking you, Chadiest, most sigma male root player ever seen, for advices. I have confirmed playing against Moles, Keepers in iron, Eries, and Lizard cult, while being propably most experienced. As opening, I would like to get to opress three clearings and place a mob token on one of those clearings with ruins. Thinkink about going with relentless mood, or the extra card one (but propably not) or the lots of mob tokens one. Then I would like just to acumulate wariors and build fortreses, and wait to strike. What tips , strategies and great openings might great sense Nevakanezah give and sugues to such a poor peasant as me? Now seriously, I am so hyped for your next video, and thought you guit, after not uploading any video for half a year.
1. Beg less, it's demeaning. 2. Skip mobs, focus strongholds and rowdy mood, draw a bunch of cards and craft the items you need rather than pulling them from ruins. This gives less cardboard for opponents, and denies crafting VP. 3. Save relentless mood for when you have enough rats to explode across the board all in one turn
No worries! Call it... "proactive community management" on my part, I suppose. As for the video - Im back in a position where i can move it up my priority list again, so ive been working on it recently.
@@Nevakanezah_ Well... that was a really interresting game and my friendship was put to a test. Sorry, that I will propably write an essey about it. As I was last in a turn order, I did not have much options, where to put my starting clearing, so I put it in the only empty clearing - the one of two midle ones ont winter map, with two build slots and a ruin. In first turn, I built second stronghold and went with my leader and 4 warriors to the least defended clearing defended by only two moles. - GOT DOUBLE AMBUSHED on turn one!!! Luckyly, I rolled zero - something, so my leader did not die and thanks to me being greedy and picking relentless mood I was able to move with my leader back to my home clearing and place mob token to get a free item fom that ruin on my home clearing. Well... mole player rushed me with tunnel imideatly and killed my leader and both warriors. This time I almost walked away (mainly because of the mockery from everyone around table), but I stayed, declaring, that keepers player will win, and mole player will be last. This time I said to myself "screw everithing", and moved away (down) with my only warior and reborn leader, placed mob token that spreaded three times randomly (because of the mood) and this accualy cluthed me game, because that blind mole player did not recognize a mob token in his base (because he was too distracted destroying my own undefended base for VP and building his citadel there) and got blown up. So, those three mob tokens gave me other two items from ruins (in addition to boot, that I already had from the first ruin . Luckyly, I did not block my relentless mood, wich was handy leater) and blown up mole town. Well, with a really short turns and lot of sad complainign (to make others feel sorry for me and being ablo to "fly under radar"), I slowly reclaimed my base and started to build my accion economy and strongholds and rebuilding my destroyed base. Then, 3 or 4 turns before end (was a really long game - something over 4 hours of intense playing) I went beast mode and steam rolled keepers and Lizards and saved Erie from second turmoil (they turmoiled one turn later) and started finally gaining some VP. Well, I finished game with 29 points, because of four times bad RNG in last two turns (including rolling 0-0 twice in a row in a clearing defended with only one warior and rolling 1-1 on a clearing with a one warior and a tunnell worth that one last VP) and a fact that I was not able to craft anvil in my hand, because three times in a row (three last turns, every turn) someone always destoyed, or converted my only fox strongholld. Erie almost won, but due to bad RNG (rolling 3-1 in a battle - therefore not being able to battle twice and fullfill a degree) went turmoil (for the 3rd time). Keepers in iron won , by scoring 11 points on last turn (counting owerflow). Well - what a game, what an outstending game. To sum things up - mole player ended penultimate with only 14 points and like three components on the board, ultra agressive lizards ended last , I almost clutched up with 29 points and keepers won by scoring 11 points on last turn, even tho they needed like 4 or 3. Thanks for all your wise words. You were absolutly right about relentless mood, and you were also right about mob tokens. I gave away most cardboard VP from the entire table, but I just needed those items desperatly, and it really helped me. Sorry for my english, and for a long essey, but I really wanted to tell you about this and thank you for your advices. Peace.

Seen as your probably starting on Moles next I wanted to share my opinion that smoles is awful compared to swoles as a stratagem with them due to only being able to score 2 instead of 8 a turn and lacking the recruiting to be aggressive and that it generally only works against newer players and should instead be used to either drag yourself across the finish line after a rough few turns of being policed or to aid in set up before swapping into swoles. But that's just my opinion and you are much better than me at root so whatever
I'd say it's more accurately described as "One tool in a kit of many", though smol does tend to see the same success curve as double-build eyrie. I agree with you otherwise though.
@@Nevakanezah_ I agree with it being a tool but I often find in digital people only do smol and never change off which often causes the game to become very boring
For smole u need usally 8 turns to win(depends a little against what faction u play) 12 to 16 from Ministers (i usallay Ami for the Lords instead of the junkers) 5-6 from banker and 2-4 from dutches of mud. That means u need 4 to 11 points from Fights. Slowing down opponents is essantly for this strat and it suffers heavily from card loss. Otters will speed it up. The thing is u should never rly allow moles to start build early or to keep multiple buildings because they usally can race way to fast. This means u will be forced into smollmole a good amount of time. If u have the room building strats end up strenger but are way more risky because u can are a more atracitv target and ur Plans are mutch more obvious. Switching smole into swol midgame can also be pretty effektiv. Smole is a powerful defensive Tool and usally more safe to do early instead of hopeing that ur opponents let u just build is usally not rly good. Being flexible and knowing when and where to start buildng is the strenght of the moles
