What a piece of junk engine. Idiot designers. Turned a quick and simple job to an 8 hours at $150 an hour job. I had to do something similar on my V6 Camry. Putting an alternator it wouldn't slide in due to space, about 2mm protrusion on the alternator casing, yup, shaved it off 😂
GM to all mechanics when designing a powertrain, "PFFT! Maintenance? Who does maintenance anymore!" 😏

Lol yes I agree designers are not very considerate of their fellow technicians..
He never mentioned the 3 bolts on each side of the oil pan that has to come out for the pan to drop!!!!
