Here at Eddie's Customs & Restorations, we like to share videos about Cars, Guns, Tools, and Some RV Must know advice.
Originally the channel was mainly going to be dedicated to automotive repair videos but like most car guys and girls, we like our tools, and we like our guns as well so why not bring them all in. The channel is just starting off but bear with me. Single father, running the business, taking video and editing is no easy task. Especially trying to find the time to edit.
In the videos I will try to always go over key details most people will overlook or forget to mention to make your own repairs as smooth as possible. And if a detail is left out, it is my personal mission to answer the comments to the very best of my ability and answer everyone's questions. Thank you all in advance for your support and may God Bless You all.

Mine lights up but does not show anything. Kind of like it is glitching. I tried disconnecting the battery and checked the fuses but still not working. Any suggestions?
try once again disconnecting the battery but this time while its disconnected, apply the brake pedal so that the system completely dries out of energy and then connect the battery again. if its still the same, something is actually wrong with the infotainment center that a reset cannot fix. If you are a DiY type of person, i suggest buying another stereo from another used car at a used auto parts and replacing it (the screen/infotainment center). if you like you can also check the price at the dealership but i have a feeling it will be an outrageous price so thats why i recommended a used auto parts that generally gives warranty or exchange within a few days if it doesnt work. But its up to you. Wish i had better news. but yes give that a try first.

This may sound like a stupid wuestion but how to i mix a epoxy primer into a sealer speedokote says you can use it as a sealer, but i cant find a mix ratio for it..
@@TheseBygones not a silly question at all. Just thin it down with urethane reducer to where it's thinner and lays down like a base coat basically. So if the epoxy you are using is mixed 4:1 then I would do. 4 parts epoxy, 1 part hardner and 1 part urethane and then spray a little to see if it is thinned down enough to where it sprays smooth through either your 1.2, 1.3 or 1.4 tip which im assuming is what your paint gun will have. If you have anymore questions feel free to ask, no such thing as a bad question here my friend. We are all here to help eachother out.

At least it already has a evaporator
I got the same problem. AC doesn't work good unless moving. One fan isn't working.
@@austinhernandez2716 that right there is the problem. Chances are they only sell them together and won't just sell you the single fan and will need to buy the fan assembly (both fans). They should both be running if you have your AC on
i have an 85 f150 i have swapped the solenoid 3 times and all the connectors to it but i still have this problem. could it be the starter?
@@AndyHernandezLopez what happens if you disconnect the 2 small wires of the solenoid and only leave the thick cable from battery to solenoid and thick cable from solenoid to battery. Tell me what happens there
@@EddiesCustomsandRestorations it wont crank at all
also my solenoid is a different style from the one in this video it only has 2 thick wires and one thin wire i think its the ignition trigger cable. i have tried to connect it again and it still keeps cranking. could it have anything to do with the ignition at all?
@@AndyHernandezLopez if the moment you connect the thin wire which would be your solenoid signal wire to energize the solenoid, then that wire must have power. I would then check into the ignition switch to see if it's no faulty and staying on at all times even in the off position.
what if your whole car is like this? 😮💨 heat gun the whole dang car? After spraying clear coat, it was cloudy. Some of wiped away with spray gloss but most of it stayed on the car. My husband thought waxing it would work....made it completely worse. Car is supposed to be black yet the hood looks almost white and sides look cloudy black/white. looks like shit. Badly. Any tips? We're tired of working on our car. We are either 1. going to put another layer of black paint over the whole car 2. leave it as is (not ideal. It REALLY looks like shit) or 3. leave it as is until we can get the money to have it fixed and hopefully not have to completely redo it.
@@natsarim87 unfortunately since it's dry already, you can't use this method, you will have to sand the whole car with 400-600 grit and knock it down as much as possible to get close to the base coat and get rid of that layer of compromised clear coat and then spray a coat of your black and then clear again. But try to get yourself some filters for your air.

For some trucks it's the starter motor that gets stuck and doesn't stop whether the truck is on or off... I fixed it mine by smacking the starter motor with a sledge hammer and a metal tube ...it worked fine after a few smacks. So: 1. disconnect the battery so it stops spinning 2. then smack it and re-connect the battery and 3. repeat if necessary until it doesn't start unless you turn it on with the truck key. It's the symptom of a starter motor going bad. 4. Replace it as soon as possible if you can.

Would the epoxy primer work well restoring plastic mud guards then followed with the Satin Black fusion?
It would yes but if you are wanting to do body work to fill in scratches you will need a high build primer for that because epoxy is not meant to fill in voids.

I’ve purchased a 1999-2004 Chevy Silverado Starter after watching this video. My 67 Camaro OE starter had (2)small terminals and one large one that the red Batt lead was on. This newer style starter has one less terminal. Please advise. Does the yellow wire go on the small post on this new starter and the purple wire has to be modified to join the large Post for the battery lead now? I have a Mallory Unilite too? I don’t want to fry my distributor. I’m seeing people speak of having to add a diode ? Again please advise. Thank you.
The purple wire goes to your small post as the "s" for start wire. That is the one that commands the solenoid to actuate so your car can crank. What type of distributor do you currently have? HEI? or do you have an external coil with a (+) and (-) on top?
External coil Mallory Unitite Distributor
I’ve been told I can drop the yellow wire?
@@chadpickett6059 yes. The yellow wire is the one that gives the coil 12v even while cranking for some vehicle that require a little more Juice while cranking. Leave it disconnected and just put the purple wire and see if your car starts.

Man I sure am glad this helped someone..I just wish it would have helped you before you threw parts at it...
@@EddiesCustomsandRestorations Thanks, I did try to find someone else having the same problem but.. Wasn't that a strange problem? never crossed my mind the belt was too loose cause the motor seemed like it was dying!? Its as if the motor needed to sense a load for it to run at max torque.
@@eer88 my thoughts exactly! It was the weirdest thing!! But after thinking about it more it made sense because the reason it slows down is because the pump itself isn't rotating since the belt is slipping. The part that actually creates the noise is actually the pump not the electric motor.

What about just Rustoleum Automotive Primer over bare metal that is clean and dry rust free with a 80 grit scuff?
Regular spray can stuff is no good. But if you did the brown rusty metal primer that is sold in quarts at the home goods stores like home depot, those work good. Oil based rustoleum works awesome over metal but only if you plan to use rustoleum products over that primer. Oil based ofcourse, not aerosol can stuff.
@@EddiesCustomsandRestorations Says ok over clean metal on the can, I prepped the bare metal with Ospho, seems like the repairs I did are solid, with only some initial shrinking over four or five days depending on ambient temperature I usually sand after 3-4days. Plan is to sand 400 wet after all minor repairs are done then seal the entire car before paint with epoxy sealer. The Black Automotive Primer they sell is like $7.00 a can if you buy in bulk, and works like a guide coat because you can see your highs and low spots during sanding with 180 open cut or other finer grits. Believe their black spray can primer has some solvents in it as it attacked previous repair work that appears to have been done with lacquer based primers there was minor wrinkling where I had sanded through the top coat into repair work. Only draw back is the amount of cans I’ve used about 10 cans on 6 panels, convince wise it’s ok don’t need to get any spray equipment out to start your work, and I have a neighbor that seems to take notice of everything I do on the upper part of the driveway, thankfully I have room to work where she cannot see me working on my cars in the back behind a fence. Still have three more body panels to go, including a air dam that has damage. I’ve use RustOleum oil based paint on primed metal, and bare metal as you say, and had really good results on suspension components… Thanks for your insight now need to find someone that will let me use their spray booth for couple days …
Would the siphon pump/fluid extractor work for the 9" by inserting it in the fill plug? I've seen it done on an 8" but wondering if this is a possibility on the 9"
